I'm so glad they opened back up. Last night I went with a friend who had never been.. I was just going to do the regular eggplant Parmesan or chicken Parmesan because I've had theirs and I know it's amazing. Someone suggested the seafood cannoli. I'm so glad I tried it. It was phenomenal. You could taste all the seafood and got big chunks of lobster, shrimp and scallops in it. The server was so nice to sub out the side of pasta for a different side and I chose the jalapeño brûléed corn. Oh my goodness. So good! They never disappoint on quality. My friend was very happy with her dish as well and couof not resist the dessert tray. We will be returning

Piccolo is definitely a gem in this part of town. Visiting from a small farm in Purdy, MO, there's not too many options, let alone a solid Italian restaurant. At first glance at the menu, I was pleased to see how affordable the restaurant is. Hands down, this place beats Olive Garden to a pulp, but is it the absolute best Italian I've ever had? No, but the value is worth nothing. My brother, mother, and got three different dishes. I got to have a little taste of everything. I thought their tri-tip steak most certainly tender with a great color and temperature. It paired nicely with the au jus, which was savory but lacked some richness--still, I would absolutely prefer it with rather than without. Scallops were seared ideally and also were soft to cut. This chef has wonderful temperature control. The flavor, however, was a bit lacking, but there were some additives at the table, such as lemon and salt that could be used at the customer's discretion. The eggplant parmesan was breaded and fried well with a crunchy outer texture and soft but not mushy interior. The seasoning on them was balanced and flavorful. Spaghetti was... spaghetti; it's a classic dish--its nothing exciting, but you definitely wouldn't be upset if you ordered it expecting a classic take on the pasta. I found their presentation of the carni ravioli to be quite exciting, however, I was quickly disillusioned after taking my first few bites. I quickly began to think, "why didnt I just get lasagna?" To me this was basically a Italian sausage deep dish pizza without the crust but instead replaced by thicker, al denta pasta dumplings scattered within this bath of tomato and cheese. As with anything, Italian sausage can be extremely overpowering (saltiness). I would've much preferred having even layers of pasta sheets with ricotta cheese and maybe lessen the sauce to pasta and meat ratio. Alas, out of the three dishes, this was my least favorite, but it certainly is a beaut, and if you happen to love Italian sausage and love to get full on ravioli, this may actually be a knockout for you. I thought we got placed with a pretty good waitress. I found her very quirky, funny, sweet, and attentive. My family thought she was a bit intense, but I appreciated her additions to the conversation. Waters were never empty and food came out at a pretty reasonable pace, so full points there. There seems to be a little bit of condensation drip issues from the above ventilation that some customers next to us were complaining about, but otherwise, this place is a lovely restaurant with a lot of charm. If invited, I would come here again. Cheers.

I came out for a mom's night out with four other moms on a fun Saturday night. All the other moms have been to this restaurant many many times, and they all had regular menu items that they all raved about. I was the lone first timer. We ordered the nachos as an appetizer and the rest of us had either salmon or pizza or pasta as our main dish. The portion sizes are generous in between the appetizer and the meal we were satisfied and we didn't need dessert. This seems to be the place that everyone goes to as their go to night out. I would like to return for another fun dining experience soon.!!

If you're within an hour of Piccolo, it is WORTH the drive for an amazing Italian experience. For context, we spent ~$25 per person for a table of 5 and this was incredibly reasonable. First off, the Spinach Dip Skillet and Cheddar Bacon Rollups are phenomenal table sharing appetizers. Our server Brooklyn was incredibly knowledgeable and helped tremendously with all our questions for the menu and wine! The Pasta con Broccoli and Chocolate Cannoli were particularly outstanding.

Isabella served us today on our first visit to Piccolo Contemporary Italian restaurant. She was very helpful in describing appetizers, entrees, and even in detail the deserts as we have good friends with celiac. Hey celiac people...this is your restaurant!!! The food here is outstanding! No joke!!! We truly enjoyed the ambiance as it is relaxing yet with a subtle upscale Italian flare. Here's a tip, reservations are highly recommended for Friday and Saturday evening and fill up quickly, even a week ahead! Sunday early afternoons are not as busy, at least for now.

We were so excited to find Piccolo, the continuation of the legacy started at D'Arpino's Italian Cafe. We ate at D'Arpinos for years but moved away before it closed. I have craved the cheese tortellini since but thought I'd never get anything close to it again. So when I saw it on the menu, I couldn't wait to try it--SO good and just as I remembered! My husband chose the Carni Ravioli with a side of homemade meatballs and he raved about how delicious it was. The pastas were served with salads and garlic bread making it a great value. We chose to get desserts to go. They were moist and delicious--including a vegan chocolate cake. Overall, the restaurant was casual and comfortable. We sat at the bar and the service was excellent. Can't wait to go back!

Finally get to take the kids here to eat. It was a busy sunday and they have a table for us, make me so excited. Its been a long time that I have eaten here. The best thing they have here was the garlic bread and cheese stick! It was very addicting and one of the best I ever have. We all got different pastas and it was super yummy!! The kid got spaghetti and meatball and seafood ravioli. I got one of the specialty pasta, forgot the name, but it was stuff seafood cheesy pasta roll with lobster bisque sauce. It was very yummy. Happy with the food and was too stuffed for the dessert! I will come back and try some other Delicous entree they have!

Nice atmosphere and pretty decent food. The mozza knots were not worth getting and were very tasteless. The salads were both great. The complimentary garlic bread was fantastic! My aunt liked her pork chops a lot, and loved the creamed corn even more. Maybe I've had a lot of gnocchi but this was one of my least favorite gnocchi dishes--it seemed like it was packaged gnocchi you could get from the grocery story and not cooked. The sauce and sausage were really tasty though!

If you haven't been to Piccolo in Nixa...you are missing out! The food is fabulous, the staff are on top of it-5 star service! The atmosphere is relaxing so you have time to enjoy your experience. My favs include Italian Nachos and Ethan Marco, but honestly have never had a bad meal at Piccolo. read more

This is a great place in Nixa thats opened in the last year. We've been there a couple times now and I've really enjoyed everything that I've got each time. I haven't reviewed a lot of restaurants over the past 10 years (my last elite status was 08!) But honestly I haven't been too many new unique places in the area worth reviewing. Living in Nixa for about 2.5 years now I would say this is my favorite meal in Nixa if not then the top two. I'm getting picky in my old age so that means fewer places all the time meet my grumpy standards but if I was going to send anyone out for a meal on me, it would be here. read more

Husband and I just moved to the Springfield area from Northwest Arkansas and were excited to figure out some of our favorite local restaurants, and I must say, Piccolo's is number 1! So delicious. Some of the best Italian we've had. We had gone to Archie's prior in pursuit to find a good Italian restaurant, don't waste your money there and try Piccolo's. read more

From the warm welcome at the door, the patio seating (safer), to the efficient waitstaff and delicious Italian meals, Piccolo is a Nixa treasure. The food was great. The service was odd. Less than 5mins after we had our food we had wait staff ask if we wanted boxes for our food. We have 3 servers ask to box our food up when we were obviously still eating. read more

I have eaten here several times, the service and food is fantastic! One of the first times I was in, I was picking up food to take to my daughter's who had just had my grandson. I asked the manager, who I recently learned is the owner if he would sell me a bottle of wine to take with me and he handed me a bottle and congratulated me on my new grandson! I was very disappointed with a title like vest in 417 you expect amazing food, I guess the reviewer as never been to fizolis cuz their Italian food is way better. The spinach dip was super runny ( prolly didnt drain the can of spinach before using it). the chicken parm was served with Alfredo instead of spaghetti which is a strange choice. I like Alfredo as much as the next person but chicken parm needs spaghetti, dont mix sauses on the same plate. The only thing I finished was my salad and the little Caesars style breadsticks. I wont go back. read more

What a pleasant evening dinner! Nice wine selection, with corking option. We selected the basil pesto angel hair pasta w chicken and chicken parmesan...both were delicious, starter salads fresh, crisp with I believe homemade dressings! We used the free appetizer and got the cheesy bread which was amazing. I ordered the aspersita (?) salad and the bf ordered the chicken Alfredo. Plated absolutely beautifully. The service was top notch and the owner is fantastic. Definitely going to be a frequent place for us! read more

Italian isn't really my go-to when I'm going out to dinner. I like that Nixa has a nicer restaurant in their town and it makes for a better night out if you're wanting more than fast food or fast casual. The wine on tap is good and pretty reasonable. It's hard to mess up Italian and they do a good job. I'm not really a pasta girl or Italian food in general, but it seems pretty clean. read more

OMG finally a new place with a little creativity and culture for your taste buds in Springfield/Nixa MO! In a few months, they will be doing brunch on Sundays too, folks! The glory of brunch is finally sweeping small town America! This will forever be our go to place when in town visiting friends and family. We've always been a huge fan of the D'Arpino's restaurant on Battlefield and National and Piccolo (owned by their son Steve and his wife) does not disappoint. The D'Arpino family knows their Italian and they know their cheese. I can't say enough great things about this place. After being in the restaurant industry for over 10 years, I can be a bit critical. Food: We had the spinach dip and balboa balls for appetizers. I'm still dreaming of both dishes as the spinach dip had the perfect spinach to cheese ratio and seasoning. The meatballs had a little bit of GOAT CHEESE on the top along with mozzarella in the middle. I literally wanted to buy 20 and take them home. I had the veal cannelloni and it was superb. Another at the table had ravioli and it was a huge hit. Another at the table had the ribeye, which you don't think about ordering at an Italian restaurant, but apparently they know their meat too! We were too full for dessert, but I can't wait to try their cannoli next time. Drinks: We had wine, but I can't wait to try some of their fun cocktails. Their wine list is fantastic and at such a great price. Service: Excellent. Our server did a great job suggesting a local beer and wine pairing for what we were ordering. She was friendly, attentive, and on top of our dining needs. The owner was walking around making sure everyone was enjoying their meal which is always nice to see. Ambiance: I appreciated the smaller size of the restaurant. Makes dining with a significant other or family more relaxed and you're able to truly enjoy your dining experience. Plus they have great, fun decor/art work to check out as well. Also can't wait to come back and enjoy patio seating when the weather is warmer. Just. Go. read more

Great food and service but totally pissed at this restaurant now because they used to have a ton of vegan items and now they don't. Randomly added egg to the batter for fried eggplant!?!? Not even necessary i just don't understand why they would do that when they have a large vegan customer base. read more

Great food, great service. Nice atmosphere. My husband's steak was over cooked. The server took it back immediately and the owner himself brought a perfectly cooked steak with a sincere apology. This type of thing happens. I was completely impressed at how the problem was handled. No excuses, just made it right! Reasonably priced. I certainly would recommend this place. read more

Piccolo opened its doors in December 2016. The concept was developed by Steve D'Arpino as a spin-off of D'Arpino's Italian Cafe - a staple in Springfield for over 12 years. Piccolo brings to Nixa all of the favorites from D'Arpino's, in addition to new culinary dishes that offer a fresh take on traditional Italian cuisines.

Steve D'Arpino holds 20 years of experience in restaurant management. Steve's family has owned and operated D'Arpino's Italian Café in Springfield for over 14 years. He has held nearly every position there is, including bartender, front of house manager, kitchen manager and general manager. It's this diverse range of experience that has given Steve a thorough understanding of nearly every facet of the restaurant and bar business.

Not disappointed there, but there are better BBQ places around that are much better. Overall, doubt I will be returning to the Mill Market. Not worth the hype.

For two weeks in a row I had ordered an extra large specialty pizza online using the 50% off menu price coupon. This would have been a good deal had they not tried to sneak in a large vice an extra large. The first time I pre paid and picked up at the window. When I opened the box at home I noticed how small the pizza was. It was a 14 inch large in a 16 inch extra large box. I left comments on the order I used and was ignored. This time I ordered the same way, but chose to pay and pick up inside. Upon examining the pizza (smaller than the box, again), and actually measuring with a tape measure I had brought, I was once again given a large pizza in an extra large box. After discussing this with the manager, he remade the pizza which now measured 16 inches, but was evident the toppings were reduced. How many others have been shorted in this manner and hadn't noticed? The city of Nixa has many pizza parlors ranging from small to major chains. I do not need to waste my money or time at an establishment that has forgotten what a customer is.

Best Italian in the area - definitely rivals if not exceeds every other Italian spot in Springfield or The Hill in St Louis for that matter (I grew up there). If you don't like this place, check your tastebuds. Highly reco the Italian marg with amaretto and the Alfredo is incredible. The owner is Italian, who we met, and uses recipes handed down from both of his grandfathers - and it shows. Nice balance of traditional entrees and really unique dishes. The service was amazing with very nice people that make sure you enjoy your experience. And the ambiance of Piccolo is top tier, truly representing the food they serve. This is the BEST Italian restaurant in the Nixa, Missouri area. The owner is friendly and always open for suggestions. The salesman. Jack Dugger, helped me find a vehicle that I was satisfied with. He explained the selling points on the vehicle, went with me for a test drive and helped me get an accepted offer. When there was an issue with the vehicle he helped to get it rectified. He's a good salesman and not pushy. read more
