I've been wanting to come here a while now because I absolutely love Italian! Although our server forgot our sparkling water, he was a nice guy and the meal was pretty good - flavorful and chewy pasta. Definitely hit the spot, especially the pork in the Gemelli. The new decor is not as warm and festive as it used to be for sure....my friend and I both had salads and had way too much dressing that wasn't good and the shrimp was tuff...chicken was stringy... I had to write this review for Franco alone! He provided the best service I've ever received in my entire life (seriously). Our group had a big foodie day ahead of our 4:45 dinner reservation. We decided we'd like to share the dishes, but Franco never made us feel bad about it. Actually he helped us choose the dish size so that we wouldn't have leftovers. Since we wanted to share, he had the food come out separated into two different dishes for us! Wow! He always topped off the drinks when he came to check up on us. Very nice restaurant that my parents frequently dine at! It's my moms birthday and she wanted to go there. So I picked up a meal for the family at curbside delivery. We got beet salads, Caesar salad, minestrone soup, margarita pizza, half Mary chickens, and salmon dinners! It was great, same great quality you would expect when you dine in, but to go! I like wine and even though they like The Prisoner wine brands way more than I do, you can find something drinkable here. Shoutout to the bread which is served warm and is a hug for your mouth. We had a reservation many weeks in advance to celebrate birthdays, and I'm glad we did-it was packed. My first time dining here, but the other two couples have been multiple times and must've known the popularity of this place. The crowd is 40+ for sure, and lots of special occasion diners. The service was absolutely the best part of the evening. We were greeted by a friendly hostess, and seated immediately. Our server David knew the menu and had great recommendations, brought drinks from off the menu by request (we said "you pick") that were delicious, and he was fun and joked around with us to keep the night light and entertaining. The food was good, but some of the dishes lacked flavor and weren't as outstanding as I had hoped for based on reviews-only reason for the 4 stars. I ordered the wood oven salmon, which was cooked perfectly. The mashed potatoes and corn were a tad underwhelming in flavor. My husbands Niman Ranch pork chop was perfectly cooked, but sides were lacking flavor. David brought out a beautiful and tasty Manhattan for my husband, and a perfectly mixed pomegranate martini for me. Both 10/10 cocktails. Came here last night for date night with my boyfriend. Thankfully we made a reservation because it was quite packed on a Friday evening. We got seated in a roomy booth. The ambiance inside was nice, but it does get noisy because of how many people were dining at that time. A few birthday crowds, too. As we looked over the menu, they brought out bread and a garlic olive oil dipping sauce that was very garlicy but very good. If you are out on a first date, maybe dip the bread sparingly in the garlic olive oil. We ordered the frito misto appetizer to share. For our entrees, I ordered the meatloaf special and my boyfriend ordered the penne calabrese special. We both agreed that the food was good and also great portions. I like that the food feels like good home-cooked dishes. Right after we received our entrees, our waitress did check on us once to see how everything was going. However after that, she seemed to go missing for a while- too long because we waited awkwardly to try to get her attention so we could get the check. It was the end of the evening and there were tables that needed to be cleared as people were leaving. But she spent like a solid 15 min just standing at the counter of the open kitchen talking to someone and then just by herself. It felt strange that she didn't even try to glance at us once to see if we were done. At that point in the night, there were only three tables left (including ours). When she finally came back to our table, she seemed a little short with us and asked if we were done and wanted the check. She didn't offer a dessert menu for us to even look at so couldn't tell you what desserts the offer or what any taste like.. Despite the odd experience with our waitress who just lost interest in us toward the end, we enjoyed this place overall. The hostess stuffed our hands with the hard candies as we were leaving. I've been to their La Jolla location several times, and it's one of my favorite Italian restaurants. This is my first time at the Danville location, and it's just as good. It's located in a very pretty area right next to Forbes Mill. There's plenty of parking and the surrounding area is well maintained with pretty plants and flowers. They have an outdoor patio that looks really nice. We came here with a party of 6 plus a baby, and everyone had a great time. The service was friendly and casual. We were treated kinda like friends. Our waiter joked around and called our birthday girl by name all evening. Even our menus had a personalize message for the birthday girl. The food was delicious, and we all left with full tummies. I didn't taste everyone's food, so I'll only review the food I tasted: + Warm pugliese bread with oil for dipping - this is a MUST. The bread is warm, crusty, and chewy. The oil is seasoned with chili flakes and spices, but nothing too spicy. + Fried calamari - this was good. Comes with 2 sauces, one is mayonnaise-y and the other is spicy tomato-y. + Roasted beet salad - so delicious I could make this my meal. + Petrale sole - this was one of the night's specials. It prepared piccata style, fried with a lemony flavor. Comes with spinach and mashed potatoes. This was pretty big and I end up taking 1/2 of it home. + Lasagna - Good and meaty. The garlic toast was yummy too. + Tiramisu - this was complimentary for the birthday girl. This was quite yummy; moist and flavorful. + Warm ginger cookie in caramel sauce topped with vanilla ice cream with hard shell - I don't know what this dessert was called because this came complimentary too. It was SO good; better than the tiramisu. We got a complimentary dessert because the lasagna came out about 10 minutes later than the rest of our food. The wait staff were all very attentive and kept checking the kitchen and updating us. It wasn't that long a wait but we appreciated the free dessert :) Not much left to say, but I'll be back. read more

I came here 4x in the last 3 years. The salmon salad for lunch is ok. The salad was nothing spectacular.The shrimp pasta is very bland and includes 5 shrimps. The creme brulee is delicious and worth ordering. The squash soup is delicious too. Service is outstanding. The waitors are very polite and quick to service your request. The restaurant has high ceilings, dark floors, full bar, and white table cloths. I recommend making a reservation because it is super packed. Location is prime. I don't know why it took me so long to write a review but here it is! Back in December I reserved a table for 15 people for my sister's graduation and everything was amazing! Every one was so wonderfully sweet to us from beginning to end. We were such a large party so I was afraid that it was going to be a tight squeeze but it actually was very nice. We were seated towards the back where the fireplace was, in the corner with a very long table, so I was glad we were all able to fit very comfortably with enough elbow room to eat at the same time. In general I would book a reservation because they get very busy, especially for dinner. But of course they would be because the food was delicious! Just to start off, I loved the personalization they had on their menu for my sister. (see picture) I think it was a very sweet and personable touch for the night. Now for the food! Definitely recommend the bread and oil! It was a huge hit at our table that we ended up ordering more for to go at the end of the night. I did not get to try all the dishes that everyone ordered but all the pastas were great, (I ordered the ravioli and the sauce was perfection!) and the chicken piccata I got to try from my sister was delicious! The chicken was not dry at all, very juicy and the flavors on the plate overall was great! David was our server and he was so sweet and funny. My boyfriend made a reservation at Piatti to celebrate our engagement! I love that they personalized the menu with our names and "Congratulations on your engagement!" at the top of the menu. The ambiance was also perfect for the occasion - intimate & romantic! We definitely ordered more than we could eat! I was already full off of champagne coming into dinner (oops!). We ordered our favorite cocktails to start off our dinner and it came out perfect - not too strong. Our server was very patient and attentive as well throughout our dinner! All the food was fantastic and they were all great portions as well. We order fried calamari, two pastas - Casarecce and Chitarra, and one pizza - Salsicce. My favorite was the Cassarecce - the fresh burratta cheese makes such a huge difference in the pasta. I don't typically like strong cheese flavors and the burratta cheese was more light and meshed perfectly with the rest of the dish. At the end of the meal, our server surprised us with tiramisu to celebrate our engagement! There were no leftovers . Food had a tamper proof seal and the delivery person sent a text notification when the food was dropped off. And the food looked appetizing when we opened the containers. Not going back. Really disappointing. Overall, the food was very meh. Service was SLOW and server seemed so clueless. No glasses for water, no forks for salads, nerve checked in and not attentive. Collectively, we ordered the salmon, ravioli, rigatoni, and lasagna. Of the 4 entrees, the ravioli and the salmon were decent. The Caesar salads were "dry" and flavorless, and the brussel sprouts were greasy and undercooked. The warm bread and dipping oil was yummy! This place is set for a major remodel in the coming weeks. Since the menu change I always have at least 1 disappointment per meal. The first time was the butterscotch pudding terrible they have since removed it. Tonight on my anniversary I ordered dinner and for myself I ordered eggplant Parmesan they had no side with it, no pasta. I called and spoke to Mark he mirrored my surprise but no answer for it. He said let "them" know about maybe they will change it?!? Really I have not ever seen this dish come without pasta. They say we will let our chef know I think you should rethink the chef! It is sad how downhill eating out has become. It is sad that cutting corners and reducing cost has come to no pasta with eggplant, the acidity of this dish requires a carb with it. read more

Haven't been to Piatti in years, not really sure why, but wow were we missing out! First let's get the not as fun stuff out of the way. Had reservations, seating inside was distanced for COVID, all servers and staff were wearing masks. Now to the good stuff... Antipasto: Had calamari, was fried well, not over or under and tasted great with some kick from the red pepper and added flavor from the lemon. Steamed clams were fresh and flavorful, at least that what my sister said while she enjoyed everyone's share. Salads: Cesar salads were cesary with good crispy romaine and croutons. Pasta: Lasagne was good, didn't quiet remind me of my Italian Aunts version, mainly because I don't have an Italian aunt, was little crispy on the top and edges, but tender, melty and delicious center. The Chitarra was awesome! Saffron broth, chili for kick, basil, tarragon and garlic, OMG was there garlic. No vampires for days, but the sacrifice was worth the absolute happy party that happened in the mouth every time you took a bite. Others had the Margherita, Chicken Marsala and Gemeli and since we're all in a non food sharing time I don't have any taste tests, but the consumers of these plates liked them very much. Went for a birthday so we got some free cake with a non age descript candle configuration which was also looked yummy as I devoured the warm apple deliciousness with an ice cream topper. I've been going to piatti since 2018 and every time it is so so delicious!! From the bread with dipping oil, to the prawn appetizer with corn bread, the Brussel sprout on seasonal special is the first time I've ever tried them and liked them and it totally changed my taste! I usually always get the lemon ravioli because it's just so good! Good place for family gatherings or date nights. The service is always good and the restaurant is cozy. read more

I have been going to Piatti since I was a child. It's never gotten old. All of their flavors are spectacular!! Dishes I would recommend would be the Filet, Seabass, and Chicken entree, and of course the bolognese pasta. The staff is great and always put the customers first. When I brought this up the waitress attention, her response was "well, we have 300 customers to attend it." Well, I guess our party of 7 is non-existent. Part of our group were late but they let us sit and started ordering. Unlike some other restaurants, if NOT all the party are present, they won't seat you. So we did appreciate that our table was ready when we got there and were seated right away. We ordered a couple of bottle of wine, antipasti, pizza, pastas, and their special for that day which was Sole. This restaurant is going to be on my favorite list from now on. We had our office Christmas luncheon here in one of the back private rooms. The room was super spacious the table was set up perfectly, and we felt like we had lots of privacy and did not hear the noise that was going on in the restaurant. When we first got there at noon, the restaurant was pretty empty but soon enough, the restaurant was packed that just gives you an idea of how Wonderful this place is. We had a set menu, so it was easy to pick what I was going to have for lunch. According to my coworkers and the dishes they chose everyone was very happy and they felt the food was super fresh and tasty. Our server was excellent, great personality offered to take our team photo right away and continued to take care of us by making sure that we had everything that we needed. The delicious desserts were extra delicious especially the bread, pudding and pumpkin cheesecake. I went to their happy hour a few days ago. I ordered a glass of wine and some appetizers. The bartender looked at me and decided that he could pour me wine from an open bottle that seemed a month old. The wine tasted sour and did not feel safe to drink. When a white guy came and sat next to me, the bartender opened a new bottle of wine for him. I guess you have to be a white person to be served properly in this establishment. Thanks to the manager reaching out I returned to Piatti for dinner with the family. We were all very happy with both our meal and our dining experience. Jeremy was our waiter. He was gregarious and friendly. He made excellent suggestions regarding our order and was attentive. Our water bottle was kept filled by one of the hostesses. All of the hostesses were friendly as well. Our food was delicious. We started with the fried polenta cakes. We had a beat salad and Caesar salad. The greens were fresh and there was just the right amount of dressing. Then I had the flat iron steak with chard and grilled polenta. The steak was tender and nicely seasoned. The polenta had a kick to it and the chard was cooked perfectly. My companions had pasta which they enjoyed. We finished the meal with a white chocolate bread pudding for my husband and daughter and a scoop of gelato for me. We will be back if for no other reason than for the bread pudding. read more
