The pasta was perfect little pillows. And the pizza was fantastic, everything I want in a bee sting pizza, and beautiful crust. Not pictured was the garlic dip which accompanied it so well. Loved our experience at Piano piano. The restaurant was so nicely decorated and cozy. We really liked the ambiance. Our server was also very lovely, prompt service with great attitude. We ordered the sweet hornet, Canestri alla Vodka, and the rib steak to share. Both the pasta and pizza were a little spicy to me but they were very delicious. Update do I remember to order this again. Shrimp cassareche à la daviola- so flavourful and spicy what a perfect balance! This had me dreaming of having it again the next day! The burratta with bread was great and the way they drizzled the grapes with Parmesan, superb! The chopped salad with kale also had meat on it. read more

To start, they were obviously short staffed. The person waiting our table advised he was the General manager. We ordered a bottle of prosecco, which after the initial pour was simply left on the table,no chilling and left for us to refill our glasses. Food was mediocre at best and what was promised to be an "authentic " carbonara was not even close. After our meal were finished dishes were left on the table for a long time and eventually had to request that they've cleared. No offer for dessert or coffees, and finally we had to leave the table and go to the bar area to request our bill. Really a huge disappointment. read more

Really nice spot with a cozy vibe! It's actually set up in a house with multiple floors which was pretty cool. The ambience was aesthetic with dark but warm lighting, and the staff were super polite. The menu was small but had good options, which I liked and the food was pretty decent overall. Piano Piano had a cozy atmosphere. Our server was pleasant. We liked how he gave us privacy throughout our dinner. We ordered the calamari, the hot rod pizza and the rigatoni and meatballs pasta. Calamari (4/5) was bouncy with a crispy breading. It was well-cooked. They added breaded artichokes as well which we weren't really fans of. The dipping sauce really complemented the calamari well. The Hot Rod Pizza (4.5/5) was delicious. It had a nice smokey finish to it from the stone-oven. The meat to cheese ratio was well-balanced. The only thing that we were hoping for is for the pizza to be spicier. Rigatoni and Meatballs Pasta (3.5/5) was creamy with a mixture of tanginess from the tomato sauce. The meatballs were cooked perfectly. They were juicy. The pasta, however, was a tad bit undercooked. Piano Piano Spritz (5/5) was quite refreshing. A wonderful celebratory dinner with friends over cocktails and dinner. The restaurant is located in an old house, so the different room levels have been opened up to allow for tables, booths and chairs. I liked the room we were seated in as it has whimsical Alice in Wonderland wallpaper and small circular booths, perfect for our party of 4. To start we had the whipped ricotta and the fried Brussel sprouts. I personally liked the whipped ricotta out of the two, as the sunflower seeds and chili was an unexpected combination. For mains, we shared the Cacio e Carne pizza, the mushroom cavatelli, the meatballs and the chicken piccata. All four dishes were great, but the mushroom cavatelli was the standout at the table and ranked number one on everyone's favorite. We ended the night with the Nutella tiramisu and the colossal cream puff. Our server was very helpful and friendly. Piano piano is known for its classy, playful and sometimes whimsical interior. The Oakville location did not disappoint. The moment you park, the beautiful and bold exterior welcomes you and you just know that you will be in for a treat. We were seated at the first floor close to the bar. The bartender greeted us with a smile. He even gave us complimentary Prosecco when he found out we were celebrating an anniversary. We decided to get the lunch special that came with half appetizer, a choice of pizza or pasta and a dessert. We also ordered another pizza to try but the portions were more than enough that the extra pizza order was unnecessary. I will definitely come back here again! read more

I've been a fan of Piano Piano as a great restaurant for large groups of people. Whenever I am asked to recommend a restaurant for a large group with varying tastes, I always put Piano Piano on the list. When it came time to pick a restaurant for a large group of people that were living in Toronto and Hamilton area, the Piano Piano in Oakville became a logical decision. We were celebrating a birthday so Piano Piano welcomed us with a round of Prosecco on the house. It wasn't a cheap Prosecco either, it was the Mionetto Prosecco which is my favorite "bang for your buck" Prosecco. We started with some marinated olives and it was seriously good. Even those of us that don't enjoy olives loved it. Olives definitely aren't "an acquired taste" here. We also ordered the Croquettes and it was a hit, what's not to like about fried cheesy balls. All of us enjoyed our food at Piano Piano, even those of us that weren't particular adventurous with trying out new foods loved it. The waiting staff was courteous and kind, and the decor was great. One of my friends had a taste of this in Toronto and then convinced me to check it out. Oakville was closer, so on to Oakville we went! We had a reservation for 8pm on a weeknight and it was PACKED. There's a parking lot across the street as well as behind the restaurant, so do take advantage of those when you arrive. Since it was so late, we were starving so we ordered the calamari, The Fun Guy pizza, Mushroom Cavatelli and topped it off with a Nutella Tiramisu. Everything was FANTASTIC. The calamari had a very nice, flaky texture to it, and it was scrumptious with and without the sauce. They gave us a decent amount too! The Fun Guy pizza I found was ok mainly because the arugula was overbearing; the crust and the rest of it was like pizza you would expect from an Italian restaurant. Everything about the pasta was great, I'm not sure what kind they used as it tasted very different from any other pasta I've had but it was very chewy and flavourful. The dessert was sweet and delicious too; I personally recommend sharing it given the size and how sweet it could be. Finally got to try Piano Piano after getting the gift card promo from a year ago and it did not disappoint. Right when you get to the location, the paint and signage already give good vibes. The interior had nice decor as well. My party went for lunch to take advantage of the lunch special which was a great deal at $36 and included 1/2 an appetizer, pizza or pasta, and dessert (either Nutella Tiramisu or ice cream). Our table got the burrata and the calamari to start. The burrata was great and the side of roasted grapes was a revelation. The focaccia that accompanied it was fluffy and flavorful and paired well with the burrata. The calamari was fried beautifully with a nice chilli garlic aioli. For the mains, we got the Rigatoni and Meatballs, the Cacio e Carne, and Roasted Sea Bass (not part of the lunch special). The meatballs were massive and really well seasoned, pairing really well with the creaminess of the Rigatoni. The Cacio e Carne pizza was huge, with good flavours all throughout and the hazelnuts standing out especially. The roast sea Bass was cooked crispy with nice veg to compliment it. We ended with the Nutella Tiramisu which was a bit sweet, but it was a good portion to not overdo it. Service was great and we got seated promptly with our reservation. This was our first time having a meal at the Oakville location. We had enjoyed their other locations on Harbord and Colborne Streets in Toronto in the past year. This was such a great experience for a birthday celebration for my husband. We ordered the caesar salad, the bone-in veal parm and the chicken piccata - all was fantastic! Went for a small gathering with friends at Piano Piano Oakville for a Sunday dinner. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very relaxing and comfortable. We were seated in the sma room at the front which had french doors that can be closed for more privacy. The food was spectacular. The flavours are different from what you would expect. We tried: -Calamari Chili Garlic Aioli. The Aioli has a tinge of a kick which brought out more flavours to the calamari. -The Peoples Champ - normally prosciutto is salty but this was not salty at all. -b -Bistecca Al Pepe - the Flat Iron was super tender and the sauce was perfect. -Roasted Seabass - highly recommend. Very flavorful and definitely would go back for more. -Nutella Tiramisu - absolutely scrumptious...the sweetness was not overpowering. The service was excellent. The only time I've had Piano Piano was a small slice of pizza at a food festival a few years ago. To be honest I thought it would be overrated and just ok. I was thoroughly impressed but the entire experience here. We made a reservation online - easy and done. Note you have to add your credit card to do so. On the day of, I phoned to see if the patio was dog friendly and the hostess moved our table so that we could bring the dog. We ordered apps: calamari, warm olives, caesar salad, and the whipped ricotta. I think the portions could have been a bit bigger all around. As a main dish I split the rigatoni (spicy) and the egg yolk ravioli. We ordered brussel sprouts on the side as well as the potatoes. Must tries! Both cooked well with tons of flavour. We paired this with an organic red wine: Lupi Reali Montepulciano D'Abruzzo. Pretty light and dry which I enjoy. We went all out and ordered dessert as we were celebrating an anniversary - the carrot cake and the banana one (the name is not on the menu). The food is largely pretentious and overpriced. Buffala cheese dish served with a tomato sauce that was overly salty and cooked pearl tomatoes. Weird.. Veal was way over cooked, salty, served in the same tomato sauce as the appetizer and basically tasteless. Caccio y Pepe pasta was nothing of the sort, it was drenched in a simple cream bath with a hint of pepper, largely tasteless as well. My wife enjoyed her fish and one of my guest enjoyed his pizza. Came to Piano Piano for a birthday dinner with my hometown friends recently. We were sat right away and the restaurant was pretty empty the entire time we were there. The food was average, but the cocktails were pretty good. What struck out was the service was unfortunately lacking. It took ages to order, we'd often have to flag down our server to order more drinks and just overall wasn't attended to, especially considering the restaurant was maybe half full. This restaurant also forces a 20% auto gratuity for tables of 6, which we were not warned of or notified of ahead of time. This is not something I've ever seen elsewhere for a table of 6! Perhaps this is why the service was lacklustre. read more

I've been to the Toronti location and didn't live it but figured I'd give it another shot. The outside of the building is beautifulll. The interior decor in the Toronto one looks more modern, while this is more of your traditional italian restaurant decor. The calamari was good, but the pizza ad pasta was disappointing. I got the tortellini con bolognese which was $26, smaller portions and harder than I would have liked. The sweet hornet's pizza was so thin and soggy that it was floppy when u picked it up. Unfortunately I have a very bad experience just to make a reservation at this restaurant. I am a Pharmaceutical Sales person. Physicians recommended that i organize a dinner event at this restaurant. I have made three phone calls to reserve the private room. Each time the staff tells me that a manager will call me back. Each time manager was not available. If you want an elevated Italian dine-in experience, either for a date or with some family/friends, Piano Piano is worth the experience. I've come to this location twice now and recently celebrated friendsgiving here. I was served by the very detail-informative server, Jeff. He helped the table out with visually explaining how the dishes were going to come out like and gave us great wine suggestions that catered to the whole table. For their appetizers, I recommend the Burrata Alla Campangnolo, the Parma Prosciutto and Manila Clams! Order a side of bread for the table because you're going to want to dip and top it off. Pizza wise, they are personal sized and you're going to have to self-serve slice em' up if you're sharing. But The Sweet Hornet is deliciously sweet and spicy. Now as for any of the pasta's, you cannot go wrong with any of them at this point. The Mushroom Cavatelli is mushroomy (obviously!), creamy and significantly a filling amount, in my opinion, due to its chewy pasta texture. The Egg Yolk Raviolo comes with two big raviolo pieces but it does not disappoint. Canestri Alla Vodka is also an amazing choice if you do not mind the chilli. The Tortellini Con Bolognese comes with three big pieces and the texture in this dish is amazing. Main courses, I've only ever tried was their Grilled Octopus and I loved it. Stopped by this restaurant after a walk around downtown Oakville. It was a bit off the main road, but the building was bright with a colourful mural, so it's not easy to miss. Had a really nice atmosphere. It was a busy Saturday night, so if you're planning to visit, I suggest making a reservation. The food was reaalllyy good! Went to the Piano Piano location for dinner last night. Service and food were great. Had one of their specialty cocktails to start. Without looking at the drink/wine menu I asked for a glass of 8 oz house Pinot noir. My wife asked for a house 8oz Chardonnay. When the bill arrive we discovered that the wine was $41 a glass. We questioned the server about this and she stated that the two glass we received were the only two they served by the glass and the pricing was correct. I looked at the menu and they don't even list an 8oz Pinot or Chardonnay by the glass. I then looked up the Pinot on Vivino and discovered that this wine was rated as a 3.9 out of 5. Once you include tax and tip it comes to over $50 a glass. A reasonably poor glass of wine for $41++. I let the server know that the food and service were great but that I'd never be back again because of their outrageous wine prices and deceptive marketing. As a note, I've lived in Oakville for 29 years and frequent the restaurants at least twice a once a week. read more
