Tito's & tonic - DOUBLES
Dessa R.

Make sure to bring cash or pay by Amex. Stopped in for a drink before the dinner rush. Really cute and cozy, exposed brick and pipes. We had the place all to ourselves for that drink and sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly and when we ordered our drink, I loved that he asked, 'are you having a double'? What a fantastic attitude lol and of course we said yes! He was kind to comp one of the doubles. Enjoyed our visit!

Stopped into piacere for a late dinner after I couldn't settle on anything. Definitely a solid spot. It appears to be an interesting balance of locals and tourists. So, I have a difficult time evaluating this place. A pretty generic interior but they do have awnings so they can let the air in. My server was awesome(i forget his name), but he got me all taken care and went above and beyond. I got the carbonara pizza. My 2 favorite things: carbonara and pizza; a match made in heaven. This pizza was super rich, salty, and well executed. The guancile with the broken egg yolk paired with the crust was wonderful. A bit of pepper to balance everything out. Yes, he convinced me to get cheesecake. It was great. The fruit compote added much needed fruitiness and lightened it up. A super solid slice of cheesecake!

Marcello took great card of us. Eric behind the bar made some truly extraordinary drinks. Although the pizza was superb, super light and just right, the pastas were excellent. Loved the grilled calamari with fennel and arugula. Place is so welcoming and charming.

This spot has personality, as does its staff! We stayed up the street for our visit and we couldn't stop coming here! While the food is fantastic, we found ourselves returning to chat with Marcelo (I hope I'm spelling it correctly!). He served us each time we came in and was charming beyond belief, and made us feel like family. The food is most definitely made from scratch and with love. Each table also gets fresh rosemary focaccia that is to die for. YAYs- Gnocchi : all are DELISH! Yay! Steamed spinach: simple and fresh! Pizza dough was fresh and delish TIRAMISU: THIS is A MUST! Probably the best I've ever had. I will return for this! Can't wait to return!

We used a pulsd voucher to come here for dinner and it was a decent find. For $49, we got an appetizer, two entrees, two glasses of wine, and tiramisu. The only thing is that tax and tip were not included in the price. This place insisted on us getting cash when we came in. So my SO when to a vending machine. All in all, we spent ~$100 on dinner here with the Pulsd voucher. The Crostini lacked seasoning and salt. However, with their house made chili oil, it was just perfect! The stuffed pizza was a unique spin on a classic. The crust was simply divine. The four cheese truffle gnocchi was simply divine. This was perhaps the best gnocchi I have had in years. It just melted in your mouth! The perfect end to the meal was tiramisu with shots of limoncello. Just the perfect pick me up to an otherwise perfect day. IG: QueenOfAdventureNYC

Gourmet Personal Margherita Pizza (10")

Cute little Italian restaurant with limited indoor and outdoor seating. The food is good though so I recommend giving it a try! The gnocchi was so soft and their pesto is amazing. The owner is super nice and funny. He offered us free bread and a little dessert, not sure what it's called. They only accept cash and AMEX, but they do have an ATM. They definitely should warn you before you order and eat though, we got lucky and had cash on us.

Truffle flavor, double layer, so good!

Yummy pizza spot, came here after work with a group for an event nearby and tried the pizza, sooo good! Truffle flavor double layer and pepperoni pizza are my favorite!

A wonderful restaurant with lots of charm and a friendly staff. A really nice wooden burning pizza oven. A good variety of Italian dishes. We enjoyed the calamari with greens and fennel. The mushrooms on toast was surprisingly good. Nicely sauteed broccoli rabe. All the pasta seemed very fresh with just enough sauce to make it perfect. Plenty of seating inside and out to make it perfect for groups of friends to talk and catch up on each others lives. One of the most unique things about Piacere is the bathroom. Have no fear you are not hallucinating. Bring cash unless you are willing to pay the POS charge :(. We had a fairly large party so tip was included in the bill. All in all I think you will enjoy dining here, it has a very relaxing atmosphere and quality food.

Pomodoro Bruschette, Mozzarella e Prosciutto Crostini
Miranda M.

My partner and I had a great evening at here. We walked in without a reservation and were pleasantly surprised to be seated right away. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a cozy, authentic Italian feel. It really is a perfect date spot. We started with the Mozzarella e Prosciutto and Pomodoro Bruschetta, both of which paired beautifully the glasses of red wine we ordered. The Mozzarella e Prosciutto was simply delicious--soft, fresh mozzarella served with thinly sliced prosciutto and a bed of peppery arugula. The combination of flavors was light yet satisfying, a great balance of creamy, salty, and slightly spicy from the greens. The Pomodoro Bruschetta was equally delightful. The toasted bread was topped with a generous portion of fresh, juicy tomatoes, drizzled with olive oil and just the right amount of garlic and basil. Each bite was full of classic Italian flavor, and the crispness of the bread was perfect. The highlight was definitely the Quattro Formaggi pizza we ordered. We could NOT even finish this as the cheese were so flavorful and dense that on top of the mozzarella we had earlier, this had to be boxed up (but reheated well). Overall, we loved our experience at Piacere. The food, wine, and cozy ambiance = an ideal, laid-back night. Gem of a spot.

Amazing atmosphere, food, cocktails and people! Go here, you will not regret it. Gluten-free options for pizza and pasta. The drinks were carefully crafted and delicious. Had 2 pizzas, carpaccio and pasta dish. Will definitely go back when back in town!

Very rustic and quaint Italian restaurant. They only take cash or Amex (I wasn't aware until I sat down and was placing my order). The staff here is friendly and on a Friday night it was not busy at all. The homemade marinara basil gnocchi was good, but the truffle mushroom pasta was a bit too oily for my liking. The burrata was fresh and delicious. I didn't see wine by the glasses on the menu, they only had bottle options.

Carbonara (right), San Daniele (back), and sausage/mushroom (left)... all gluten free and incredible but listed in my preferred order
Elle M.

Happened on this spot by accident and couldn't be happier that we did! The best, thinnest, most fresh gluten free pizza I have ever had. Clearly dough that's made from scratch. The carbonara pizza was INCREDIBLE... I wish I could give this pizza 6 stars! The San Daniele was also very, very good. And we modified the sausage and mushroom pizza to have sweet sausage instead of spicy and it was delicious. Paired with the recommended Primitivo wine, which perfectly complemented the meal! Also, our group was able to be sat immediately on a Friday night without a reservation! Cute spot. Great food. My new fav gf pizza in the city hands down. Will be back!!

But alas, my husband wanted a bit more to eat. But let me tell you- their knowledge of wine is PRISTINE! I can't tell you what white wine we had but they captured our tastes perfectly. First I'll start with the wine - we ended up trying all three happy hour wines (HH until 7), which the tables favorites were the white and we ended up getting a bottle to split once HH ended (but I really enjoyed the other vino verde option). It was incredibly refreshing and paired well with the many tinned fish options. As you'd expect - it's a pretty massive selection and there is bound to be a varietal and glass for any palate. It's also attached to a wine store - so it's fine to see all the bottles when peaking over. Food-wise - this is where it was hit or miss, they have a pretty extensive menu (with a whole tinned fish section!) and we ended up ordering the buratta on focaccia (buratta was excellent, focaccia was too dense for my tastes), mushroom truffle crostini (way too salty), the flatbread with sliced kielbasa (was fine), halloume (table favorite ), tinned sardines in lemon oil (delicious), tinned smoked trout (my favorite). Overall the four of us were very full at the end of the meal! The space itself felt very relaxing and rustic, and definitely got busier as the night went on (we got there at 6:50 and left around 9). The service was also fast and attentive - even for the amount of tables they were serving. Overall - I'd definitely go back again, and maybe just focus on the wine and another tinned fish selection!

Starting with the positives -the banchan was solid across the board and really flavorful. That said, charging for banchan feels strange to me. Traditionally, it's complimentary, like bread at an Italian restaurant so that part didn't sit right but it was flavorful. The chigae was interesting and probably the standout dish. It had a unique flavor that reminded me of a mix between soondubu and dwenjang chigae which worked well. Unfortunately, the rest was a miss. The bossam was overly salty and didn't feel true to the dish. The tteokbokki was another disappointment -it came with cheese (which wasn't expected) and just fell flat overall. For the hype, I expected much more especially because I've eaten Korean food my whole life. The venue is small and the seats in the back are uncomfortable.

First off, the front door is mounted on flimsy plastic hinges, so every time someone opens it, it swings open violently and knocks the vase off the nearby table. The service was somehow even worse. When I was there on Tuesday, May 19th from 8-10 PM, there was exactly ONE bartender working the entire place -- both inside and outside -- and she was unbelievably inattentive. My date and I sat at the bar for TWENTY MINUTES before she even acknowledged us or asked if we wanted drinks. I literally had to call out "Excuse me" just to order a $25 quarter-filled glass of wine. Embarrassing all around. And when we were ready to leave and wanted the check, the female bartender working on Tuesday May 19th from 8-10 PM was busy standing in the corner chatting with someone instead of helping customers.
