Excellent treatment for my surgery. The nursing staff, office staff. Dr. Chang excellent uroligist

Had been sick for over a week and decided to go to Urgent Care late afternoon last Sunday at Physicians Regional on Thomasson Dr. Was seen by Maria Lopez Whitney, PA who thoroughly assessed and diagnosed my problem scheduling a chest x-ray the next morning. Gave me appropriate antibiotics and care instructions. X-ray determined pneumonia and she quickly revised my medications and really did an excellent job! read more

If I could give ZERO or MINUS stars I would! My 27 hour stay in Physicians Regional was a horrific nightmare!! A truly unbelievable traumatic experience for me. No doctor could diagnosis my pain, nor did they relieve it. Saw an ER doctor finally after waiting for hours, the PA that attended me after the doctor left never read my chart, was clueless, and was going to give me the same medication the doctor had given me which did NOTHING!! After being admitted, the nurses were unattentive, unresponsive, throwing this & that medication at me. The hospitalist Doctor I saw said he was going to order an Ultrasound, but then they came and took me for an X-ray!! Obviously these are 2 different tests which produce different diagnostics. The care was inept, lacked knowledge, laughable actually, and sub-par is putting it mildly. read more

WORST hospital everrrrrrr, and we've been to several. First off, they do not check who comes in the building. No Drivers License is needed, no picture is taken of anyone coming in. You can only imagine the horror that could happen with the way the world is today. If you call for a nurse, it will be at least 45 mins to an hour. The doctor on the floor is a joke. You will never see him/her. You have no idea what your treatment plan is or when you are leaving. No one takes vitals. No one checks on you. RUN far away from this hospital. read more

Needed to have a prescription refilled that I have been on for years. The office wouldn't refill it without being seen (read coole t my co-pay). I was able to schedule and decided to do the telehealth appointment so I didn't have to leave work. I paid and updated online. I signed into my appointment on time and proceeded to wait. I'm writing this now 12 minutes after my appointment time and still no one has appeared online. My time is worth something and I'm very aggravated by the delay. read more

I spent the night after surgery and was appalled at the lack of care and attention.  They were quick to say they were short staff, and much of the staff they had was in training or new from somewhere else.  Patient numbers to staff/nurse was MUCH beyond standards I was told and frustrations were great.  These were nice people who cared but with impossible work loads.  MI h or most of the staff spoke broken English creating communication and understanding and conveying a problem.  The list is long a varied as to the concerns:  waited 6 hours in the corner of post op for a room (the least of my concerns),  room was clean when I arrived And nurse arrived within 15 minutes to welcome (pretty standard) and survey/paperwork done.  I was connected to an I.V., 4 hours later nurse came back to introduce a new nurse who's english was difficult at best.  I explained twice my critical maintenance medications that would be needed at 8pm but I ended up pushing the help button twice to remind them, finally at 9:30 pm they came.  I only saw the nurse again at 2am and my I.V. had run dry hours earlier, she said she forgot and that I was supposed to have been hooked up to monitors too that were forgotten for the night....said oh well better late than never but then left without hooking me up and not to have come back until 8am to announce a new nurse change.  There were other things but too many to mention here.  I remained polite throughout this ordeal. Let me close by saying when it was time to check out my bandages were to be changed but the nurse asked a helper to do it.  The helper came and said there was a drain in and they didnt know how to change bandages.  They said I could go home and home care would call and do it. They never called.  I called my surgeon 2 days later only to find out the hospital never set me up with home care As they were directed. Finally when I was to leave I was asked if I could get downstairs to my ride by myself which I did but had onboard pain meds making it interesting.  What hospital does this kind of care!?   Please find another hospital, someone is going to get hurt here!  Again staff was pleasant but either incompetent and/or overloaded and while the surgeon was amazing he doesn't control the rest.  I mentioned all this to the surgeons office and they were generally aware but sadly did not want to talk about it. Avoid this hospital on Pineridge in Naples. Not sure if it is a systemic problem but reviews online point in that direction. Never again for me! read more

I went into the ER one night because I had a fishing treble hook stuck in a pocket of flesh in my hand that I could not remove myself. They took me in and sat me in a room and brought a doctor to my side. This doctor decided that the best way to remove the barb from the hook in my hand would be to pull it out the way it came from. I pleaded with him telling him that it was not a good idea and that he should just push the barb through my skin and cut off the tip so that the rest of the metal could easily be extracted from my hand. He insisted that he is a medical professional and that this is his job and he knows what's best. Well what do you know he tries to pull the barb through the way it came and accidentally LOSES it within the flesh of my hand. He starts apologizing profusely and it takes him 2 WHOLE hours of fishing and prodding inside my hand with forceps to realize that he is unable to blindly remove the piece of hook from inside my hand. Mind you that the nurses spectating this were all cringing at his efforts. He then calls a radiologist to come to the hospital (which takes another 30 minutes). Once the radiologist gets there she turns on the live x-ray feed and he is able to remove it within 5 minutes. My body was exposed to unnecessary radiation while they were wearing lead aprons which made me feel extremely uncomfortable. He apologized again at the end claiming that this should have only been a 5 minute procedure but instead he turned it into a 3 hour debacle. He writes me a script for pain killers and sends me on my way. A couple of weeks later I receive a bill for $3000 from Physicians Regional. I am a college student and I have been struggling to pay this ridiculous fee because of one of their doctor's utter incompetency. I am also constantly hounded by debt collectors on their behalf. I'm sure this hospital has some great staff but after this experience even if I were dying I would not trust my life in the hands of these "professionals." I highly recommend that you go some where else if you can. read more

This is the worst hospital ever. My farther went because he has COVID and was not doing well. In a couple of days he was basically back to new, he was basically perfect. They give him medicine they could not tell me the name of, and 2 days later my dad has internal bleeding, a stroke, and has failing kidneys, and now they say he might no make it to tomorrow. read more

This hospital has the most negligent staff I have ever encountered. My father came in critically ill after a bilateral nephrectomy. The nursing and medical staff pretty much gave up on him, treating him as a "severely altered" patient and stopped looking for a solution to his condition. He became emaciated and even more ill as time went on until eventually he became a rapid response. Thankfully there was a stand in ICU doctor who found his adrenal insufficiency. This staff was rude and listened to nothing we had to say. Day to day the different nurses knew nothing about his baseline, and if we had not been there as his family to advocate for him, he 100% would have died. Think twice before bringing your loved ones here. read more

Absolutely the worst business I've ever dealt with. Dr Glaser is awesome. But you have to go through a call center in Alabama to at least try to get a message to my Dr. Finally got transferred to my Dr's office after being on the phone for an hour and spoke to someone who was way beyond rude and ended up hanging up on me! And unfortunately could not go below 1 star rating. read more

I was hospitalized in June 2018 and it was the most horrible experience I have ever endured in any hospital! I am an RN and if I hadn't been aware of certain protocols I would have been dead! My admitting nurse didn't show up for over an hour after I was brought to me room. She was very flippant about everything. The hospitalist didn't show up for 4 hours after my admittance and then gave no orders until he finished rounding. Totally unacceptable! I had air in my IV line that went past the pump, therefore I shut it off myself as I tried to get someone to come in for over 45 minutes. One thing after the other... my IV line blew and they couldn't get anyone to start it again from 2230- 1430 the next day! I was without IV antibiotics and pain meds needed for my condition. The frosting on the cake was that a patient came into my room and told me I would be killed that night!! I called security and my husband. The patient came in again and my husband then took me out AMA! On the Monday after my AMA, a very kind nurse called to tell me she was sorry for all this. A little too late in my mind. Two physicians came to my defense and that is why she called me. The hospital should not have a license to practice medicine! Four months prior to my admission I found out through the news that someone had come in with a gun and was ready to shoot the place up! There is no surveillance and security is quite poor. NCH takes your picture and gives you a badge when you come through the doors. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! EVER! read more

If i could giv3 negative stars i would, they are the worst ive seen.on multiple.occations, i went there a few weeks ago becuase its right by my house and i felt like my body was shutting down,i was COVERED in sweat, shaking, chills, throwing up amd they did NOTHING, RAN ONLY A COVID TEST, not even a bag of saline, not a blood test even check my urine, told me a viral infection and go home and lay down, so i did for about 5 hours until i cldnt take it one more second, something was wrong, i go to nch and i have severe pneumonia and a septic uti.....i cld.die!!! And then the best part after they were aware of it, my primary dr works for phycians and had all these fake or old test results from the labs ans blood work they did...(how scary, im 34 and was helthy enough to survive that....image an elderly person, they prob wld. Hi, I was in this hospital between 04/12/2019 and 04/14/2019 and although all bills have been paid, they keep sending it to me trying to get some more money. My insurance and I have spent hours on the phone with them. According to my insurance I do not owe them anything. I thought we had finally resolved the matter on February 2020, but now, I have received another letter from them on 07/01/2020, which is 15 months from the date of service. This is the game that they are playing. They acknowledge that it is resolved and then a few months later they try again. Please note that they have kept me in an emergency room running unnecessary bills. I arrived on 04/12/2019 and they only transferred me to a room on the night of 04/13/2019. They kept advising that they were waiting for a slot to do the tests. They finally released me on 04/14/2019 after finally doing the tests. The nurse came to say that I was GOOD TO GO and I did not see a doctor to tell me what did they find. I then told her that I wanted to TALK TO A DOCTOR AND FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED. The nurse in charge of the shift, told me that this is what happens when you have cheap insurance like I do, because I have Florida Blue HMO ( OBAMA CARE). Please note that so far, my primary physician, has not received the results of my tests, although we have both requested many times. In one stage, the hospital advised that could not find the results of the tests and in another opportunity, they advised that they found two of them, but so far my primary care physician did not receive the results of them, and they keep sending me bills. Stay away from this hospital. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. These doctors/nurses obviously cheated in school. I randomly had 2 seizures, never had one before. I was in the ambulance and the girl forgot the blood pressure thing was still on, & it was squeezing my arm so hard I couldn't feel it and I had to tell her to take it off. "Oh yeah my bad" she said. In the ER, I had oxygen tubes in my nose. Realized an hour later they weren't even connected to anything. Later I asked for water because I was really thirsty, the lady said she didn't want me to drink anything until test results came back, and she said I'll be fine because I'm being hydrated from the IV. Then, not until I was about to get out, realized THE IV WASN'T CONNECTED EITHER. I tested positive for covid and they concluded the seizures were from that and they released me. However, it's rare for that to happen and only really common in patients who already have epilepsy/other health problems, but nothing like this has ever happened to me before! It's a big possibility that it's something else I don't know about. read more

If you want your mental health taken care of I'd highly suggest not coming here. Dr. K is a piece of work and is very argumentative rather than curious of your problems, not rational, continued to walk away as I was telling her how I was getting treated by her nurses here. Which is equally as terrible. Had to ask to take a shower for the past 3 days, practically begged. Also begged for pads as I bled out all over my underwear and pants. Don't come here. I never will again. read more

Arrived in the ambulance. Severe right chest pain. The ambulance staff was very good. The hospital staff got right to work on me once I arrived. Started all the testing and medicine needed. Arrived at 4:30 pm and was admitted and taken to my own room around 7:00 pm. They did additional testing that was needed. Both staffs where absolutely wonderful. The 1st floor cardio was very quiet easy to rest. I would recommend this Hospital to my own family. I want to thank all of the staff for the wonderful treatment they provided me. read more

I was taken to the Physicians Regional Emergency Department on Collier in Naples by ambulance on Saturday 01/05/2019 at 11:30 am after a bike accident that shattered my clavicle. I was placed in the hallway (not a room or cubicle) on my stretcher. While the paramedics gave report to the ED staff (don't know if it was a nurse because I never saw them)....I asked for more pain medication...whoever was taking report said "you have to wait until you are seen by our doctor." I was in excrutiating pain from the shattered and displaced bone, tears streaming down my face, writhing and moaning for the next 90 minutes. Nurses, doctors, and technicians past me in the hall not making eye contact or asking if I needed help. I finally asked a nurse if I had been forgotten and she reluctantly answered: "we'll get to you". My husband asked to see me and was told I had not arrived yet. I had given no medical history, my vital signs were never checked, I was not assessed in any way for 90 minutes! When I did see the nurse and physician assistance they knew at first glance that I had a severe fracture of my clavicle. My RN Laura and the PA Mike were excellent and promptly ordered testing and pain medication after they saw me. My entire ED treatment was done on a stretcher in the hallway of the ED! I am a Nurse Practitioner and know that this treatment or lack of treatment is outrageously inferior and I felt it was a HIPPA violation to assess and treat me in the hallway. Visitors of patients in the ED rooms listened to my entire history. I had to change in the hall behind a rolling screen that didn't shield me from onlookers. I wonder why this hospital does not send their patients a survey about their care? They don't care. read more

I had robotic surgery there. The doctor never told me that the hospital has a poor rating for robotic surgery. The doctor punctured my bowel. Medical establishment requires a check for such a possibility after surgery. Neither the doctor nor the hospital did so. As a result, I needed life saving surgery at another hospital 3 days after they released me after 2 nights. The hospital is very understaffed especially nurses. read more

A PHYSICIANS VIEW AS PATIENT I am a retired physician. I've worked in major university hospitals and a leading, top 100 community hospital as a physician. I've been in Physicians Regional Hospital for 30 hours and my care has been awful. The Charge Nurse on the floor, Elyse, has been dismissive of my requests, exhibited no compassion for my painful intestinal inflammation, and unsympathetic to my statement that I had a terrible headache and flushed face due to my increased Blood Pressure. She spoke down to me telling me that a BP of 155/90 was fine (normally 120/80, well controlled on meds). She literally rolled her eyes at my complaint of having a BP problem. I have painful diverticulitis. This requires the need to stop eating and let the bowel rest. I was put on a clear liquid diet, appropriately. My breakfast was fluids. For lunch I was told I was put back on a regular diet. I was offered a roast beef sandwich, hamburger, or meat loaf. I rejected the offer knowing it had to be wrong and took soup. For dinner they scheduled chicken. When dinner arrived I was told I was back on clear liquids again. When they checked, I was never put on a regular diet and the lunch was a mistake. If I ate any of their meat choices I'd be in terrible pain right now. I feel sorry for patients who don't know the difference and trust the hospital. Every patient MUST be their own healthcare advocate, especially at Physicians Regional Hospital. read more

Arrived in ED with a very full waiting room. My sympathies to the receptionist who was the target of limitless inquires and complaints. With extensive experience in health care, it was quite evident they are in violation of numerous Joint Commission standards. No triage was done, however they also didn't obtain health insurance information ( that was in accord with standards ). There was no organization, very poor public relations and evidently inadequately staffed. One poor gentleman had been there for 9 hours without being seen and he was seriously ill. I left after waiting for 5 hours and never being seen. I will never return, and suggest other patients seek alternative hospitals for emergency care. read more

Just arrived in town and immediately ended up in the ER. Since I live in Boston I was concerned about my possible experience. I couldn't of been more pleased and appreciative with the care I received here. I was admitted immediately, had great service and care in the ER. After being kept over night due to my prognosis, they suggested I remain and have an emergency colonoscopy. Again, the care and service I received was as good as back home. The hospital was NEW, NEAT AND CLEAN. read more

Don't go there! Came out of surgery and was immediately transported to a room WITHOUT any type of pain meds. Switched from a gurney to a bed in extreme pain. Asked for meds but was told I would be given something "upstairs." The explanation I was given was that the post-op staff was unavailable and the pre-op staff didn't know what to do. Is this a joke? This was a scheduled surgery not an emergency that caught the hospital off-guard! read more

The hospital is new and clean, but that is the only good thing I can say. The staff accountability is awful. My Dad was in for surgery. He is a diabetic and has a heart condition. The first three days after the operation the kitchen did not know he needed to be on a diabetic diet and low salt. We looked at the food he was served when visiting and saw it was high sugar and salt. We reported it to the nurse. Two days later when the chef came in to visit I asked what dietary restriction was on the chart, the information still missing that he needed a low sodium diet. The third night the lab screwed up his coumidan levels which were half where they should of been for over 24 hours. And on the 7th day they still did not have his sugar levels under control. When asking nurses questions we continually herd that was not my responsibility. The Physical therapist missed working with him 3 days in a row. He knew he had two start walking and the nurses refused to walk him she made him waited until the Tech came in. The list goes on stay away from this one. read more

What a wonderful small facility. I have been in multiple large, northern hospitals as a patient over my long life, this was my best experience! Even with a painful procedure, all was explained and monitored. Over my four days there the staff at EVERY level was respectful, knowledgeable and efficient. Yesterday I brought a friend to the ER in need of admission. It was a repeat performance. Also on nights and weekends standards are maintained when most doctors are off duty. Thanks for being near our home! read more

I had a hemorrhoidectomy at Physicians Regional Hospital by Dr. Susan Cera and it was a horrible experience made worse by her inattentive and insensitive staff. For starters there was no pre surgery paperwork to tell me what to expect. I did all of the up front inquiring and was made to feel that my questions were intrusive. The day before surgery I was notified 14 hours in advance that I would need to be at the hospital at 5 a.m., and bring someone to drive me home. Nothing about self preparation or diet. Post surgery, the handout given was so generic (wash your hands, get a flu shot) that it was useless. There was no call to me from any doctor or nurse after my surgery, not within 24 hours and not ever throughout my recuperation unless I requested that someone call me. The pain I experienced post surgery was significant. Then, post surgery Dr. Cera prescribed an antibiotic that effectively gave me severe diarrhea for 5 days. When I needed assistance with this problem, I was literally laughed at. The nurse laughed saying" At first you cannot "go" and now all you do is "go". I said that maybe someday I would find this funny, but not today when I was in such pain. She apologized, still laughing. I stopped taking the antibiotic (against the Dr's idea) and the diarrhea stopped. By that time though I was swollen and in a lot of pain. I kept calling to say I was in severe pain. I was only seen when I had lost a lot of blood. This continued for 9 days during which I experienced spasms and eventually by the 9th day could not stand up without being overcome with a labor like contraction. We thought I should go to the ER but instead got an appointment with the Dr's resident. The resident at Physician's Regional told me to take 2 extra strength Tylenol every 4 hours. This was not helpful. I was in such severe pain I entered hospital in a wheelchair! I contacted another doctor at NCH. This was a successful appointment. The final straw was the last appointment at PR. I waited 1 1/2 hours, thinking I was seeing Dr. Cera and was told I would see her resident (a different resident). I left, documenting the experience and leaving it for Dr. Cera and have not heard a thing in the past 2 weeks. Clearly, they do not care about the patient experience, quality of care or even preventing harm to the patient. read more
