Small facility and have limitations but they work hard to make the people happy. I was happy from the treatment I received.

I kind of experienced the whole NCH hospital on my visit. I don't want to be graphic but I was in…read morea lot of pain and felt bloated. Mrs. K. came home from St. Louis at about 1am Monday morning and diagnosed me with a stomach flu. So I tried to lay down and sleep. At about 3am I said we have to go to the ER. Here is were luck comes into your life. There were only 2 people in the ER and I was seen fast. As I described my symptoms to the Triage nurse said a lot of flu with those symptoms going around. I was taken for a CT scan of my lower abdomen. With in a matter of minutes a Dr. came in and said I had ruptured my appendix and I would need surgery. The quality of these CT scan must be excellent. The surgeon came in and told me I had a ruptured appendix and there was two pieces of stool lying against my bowl. So somehow stool came through my ruptured appendix. I think the surgery went well. I am still very much in pain but I can deal with it knowing the cause is gone. Some personal observations. I have always had a private room till I came here. I would prefer to suffer alone :). My first roommate was somewhat quiet but his caregiver was loud. I think the caregiver was thinking he was in an audition. My second roommate was a young man whose English was poor and the hospital had plenty of staff to speak to him. He was a TV addict and watched TV to early hours of the morning. Why would a TV in a hospital work at that time is a mystery to me. The staff was only as good as the promises they made and didn't keep. Every care giver said no problem I will handle it then walk out the door never to be seen again. The funniest was the head nurse making her rounds like the queen she is and looked at my IV and said she will get someone to fix it. Nope still the same bandages from the very first time they put it in, is what they took out upon my release. Upon being released the nurse said I will get you a transporter to wheelchair you out of the hospital. 45 mins go by and no transporter. The nurse sees me and says "the transporter hasn't picked you up?" No kidding I am still here. I read in another review this is a small town hospital and not to be taken as what you used to. Oh well.

My dad was admitted to this hospital with urinary tract infection... he was there for three days…read more.. while he was there, his credit card and most of his cash was stolen from his room. Shame on me for thinking of hospital staff was above ripping off an 86-year-old man in such dire condition. I would report it, but I know that I have a better chance of getting struck by lightning than having any kind of positive response from the hospital administration. Make sure you go in with no money. There's a bunch of thieves working there!

I scheduled what was supposed to be my annual physical, but before the appointment I was asked to…read moresign a form stating that I would not discuss any new health concerns, request medication refills, or address anything other than previously documented issues. I was told that any new concerns would require a separate appointment. As a patient, this made the annual physical feel much less valuable. One of the reasons many people schedule a yearly exam is to discuss new symptoms, changes in health, preventive care, and other concerns that may have developed since the previous visit. Being restricted from bringing up new issues made me feel that my healthcare needs were not being fully addressed during the visit. I understand that practices have scheduling and billing requirements, but the policy was frustrating and left me feeling that the purpose of the annual physical was limited. I hope the office will reconsider how these appointments are handled and communicate expectations more clearly to patients.

Extremely disappointing experience with Physicians Regional Healthcare…read more I had three visits at the Center for Wound Care and was shocked by the charges. My three visits totaled $5,722 in outpatient hospital charges: $2,878 for the first visit (about 30 minutes for an examination and dressing), $1,858 for the second visit (removing, examining and replacing the dressing), and $986 for the third visit, which lasted about five minutes and ended with being told the wound was healed and I didn't need to return. At my first visit, I specifically asked about the cost and was told not to worry because they would bill my insurance. I was never informed that these visits would result in charges of this magnitude. After receiving the EOBs from my insurance, I immediately contacted the wound care director. He agreed the charges did not sound accurate and said he would look into it. I emailed him the EOBs on July 7 and followed up three additional times, but never received an answer. I then contacted the patient advocate, provided all of the information and followed up multiple times with no response. I also contacted billing and clearly explained that I was disputing the charges. I was told the issue would be reviewed and someone would get back to me. Instead, after months of trying to resolve this, I called today and was told there was no record of my calls or dispute and that the account had been sent to collections. I am extremely disappointed by the lack of communication, accountability and willingness to address a legitimate billing concern. I gave Physicians Regional multiple opportunities to investigate and resolve this, and nothing was done. I will not be returning to Physicians Regional Healthcare. Anyone using this health system should carefully review their bills and insurance statements and ask detailed questions about charges upfront.

It must be virtual. Called Baker Hospital and no one answered. (Yes, really. I ended up in phone jail.) So we drove to the north Collier ER, believing it was attached to a hospital. It isn't. Despite all this confusion in that system, the care was quick and competent. Thank you to Carolina and the others who quickly got things under control. But they then had to transport my husband to Baker Hospital, which is where the cardiac docs are...and it should have said that on their sites. Heart attack? Chest pain? Baker downtown. My husband did not want to call 911 but I should have. I was in healthcare for many years and the NCH sites are confusing. They need to be cleaned up fast with a clear indication of their services/location, especially since Naples draws so many older visitors throughout the year.

There are people here that seem to be in major distress and just not able to get helped properly.
