The first thing I was struck by was that all of my X-rays were taken in the standing, weight bearing position. This was the first time I had experienced that, only to later review the literature and learn that this, in fact , is best practices. Then in my exam and discussion with Dr. Biggs, I found him to be truly interested in treating me, the patient and not my problematic scans. He was easy to talk to, listened carefully and we collaboratively decided on a treatment plan. It was refreshing!. Through his attentive listening skills, he addressed an unrelated matter of concern to me. It was unexpected and much appreciated! My experience with Dr Biggs and his office staff was very positive.

I showed up with a smile and great attitude, as is my normal disposition. However, the employee came across as short and somewhat "huffy". Apparently, I was supposed to show up 30 minutes early but wasn't informed of this by email or text. I was hastily handed a clipboard with some forms and told to quickly fill it out. Understand, it wasn't the words that got to me. It was the attitude. After briefly reflecting on this I determined this was not an office I was willing to deal with. I handed back the clipboard and told her I changed my mind about using their services. I turned around and left. I'm researching other doctor options. While trying to be fair, but still provide a review, I didn't think it fair to rate it one star since it had nothing to do with the medical side. It was a staff issue.

I explained my daughter is having an emergency tonsillectomy surgery this morning @ physicians regional Hospital because her throat is bleeding and she couldn't breathe Tina the horrible front office staff person just argued with me and told me that's their policy. even after knowing it was an emergency tonsillectomy, her position remained the same. In addition i reminded her I had been a shoulder surgery patient of Dr. Guerra's - she just raised her voice and said that's policy Then I called upstairs and Tia gave me the same nonsense Good doctors, horrible staff

The one question he asked me was what did I want to achieve from the surgery. wow i was sold. I told him I would love to be able to play catch with my grandchildren. the doctor assured me this would be the result.To date I am unable to pick up and throw a ping pong ball more then a couple of feet without excruciating pain. Dr. Wallace ordered an MRI which is conveniently located in the Joint Replacement Institute practice. His staff worked with my insurance when they first denied coverage even though it was the last few days of the year and my family had more than met the deductible. The MRI was covered and revealed a 50% torn rotator cuff and Dr. Wallace suggested PRP (Plasma Rich Platelets). Blood is drawn from the patient and spun to produce PRP which contains a mixture of platelets, including cytokines and growth factors, and has anti-inflammatory properties which injected into an injury site can stimulate the healing process. I have truly been more than pleased with the results. I no longer have shoulder pain including when I lay on my side and I am working my way back up to push-ups and heavier weights in the gym. In rehab, nurses, caregivers and therapists could not reach him or his office staff for follow-up instructions. I was unable to reach the office on several occasions, even when my question was urgent. My star rating would be a -2 if possible. Beware.

I intentionally scheduled an appointment for the morning time, 10am to avoid waiting time. I sat out in the lobby for 1 hour and 15 minutes. I was then called back and sat in the examining room for an additional 45 minutes before I saw the doctor. Two hours after my scheduled time!!! The office was open at 8am, My appointment was at 10am. How do you get backed up 2 hours behind schedule when you've only been open for 2 hours???? Bad scheduling! At 11:15am I met a friend in the lobby that had an 11am appointment. She was livid when she found out mine was at 10am and I still hadn't been called. Other in the lobby expressed the same disgust. This is a total disregard for patients. Our time is valuable too. Why schedule patients so close together? $$$$$$$ first patients second. This office needs to treat its patients with more respect.
