Receptionist Jennifer trying her best to battle the odor with air freshener

This review is so duplicitous because the staff was amazing and the care quality was on point but babyyyyy... So I came here today 11/5/24 with a friend and immediately upon walking in the door I was PUNCHED in the face with the most PUTRID URINE SMELL I have EVER been assaulted with . I couldn't even let the receptionist Jennifer finish greeting us before I asked her "WHY DOES IT SMELL LIKE PISS IN HERE?!?!" Jennifer was soooo sweet. She repeatedly apologized for the smell and attempted to rectify it with air freshener but when I say the spray was no match for that odor!!! It LITERALLY smells like they use a bucket of rank, dark orange colored urine to wipe down all the hard surfaces and then recycle that same urine to mop the floors . I had to grab a mask from the front desk to keep me from gagging . We are here now as I'm writing this review, that's how bad it is and I want to wait outside so bad but it's raining right now and tbh I might just say F- - - it and stand out in the rain because it smells so bad in here; to the point I'm afraid the smell is going to get in my clothes . I feel like I'm sitting inside someone's week old Depends diaper that they've been continually pissing in and not changing it. It's really bad ya'll . A business shouldn't be allowed to operate with their establishment smelling this way cause this CAN'T be legal . Something needs to be done, and done NOW!! I want to shower as soon as I leave here and get it up off meeeee . Try another location cause this one gon have you wanting to scrub your skin and burn your clothes after you leave and I'm NOT even exaggerating it's giving class action television advertisement telling anyone who stepped foot in here for any amount of time and later developed some type of ailment or disease to contact their law offices because I feel myself coming down with something already FIX IT... don't make your employees sit in that because they really are sweet, I feel bad for Jennifer cause that's poor Jennifer in the pics, up again for her fourth round of spraying since we arrived

Good doctors and doctors assistants. Conveniently and friendly. I went there for three issues and all were resolved.

Nice attendants but absolutely horrible wait-times. At a point, they'd let us know that there was one provider? Terribly understaffed

And yes I posted this on Google too because this is insane. Literally run from this medical group because their billing department is a disaster. I need a copy of a past invoice and apparently that's an impossible ask. I have emailed the clinic, emailed the billing department and spent over 6 hours on the phone (most of that on hold) over the past two days. I've worked in billing before, this request should take about 2 minutes, so I don't understand the issue and thus far no one has bothered to explain it to me either. Yesterday the agent told me it was going to be emailed after our almost 2 hour call, but nothing was received so here I am on with them again (just over an hour so far) and no resolution in sight.

So...made an appt for 8:20AM through their website. Get there around 8AM. People are standing…read morearound and waiting for the clinic to open. 10 minutes pass. Clinic is still closed. 8:15AM. Still closed. Call Jefferson Park so that we can get an appt. After having issues with the website not loading, I call their office. After a fun wrestle with the bot, I finally get in touch with a receptionist. I ask how long is the wait. She replies "Oh, it's going to be a while because we're taking in all the people from Six Corners since they're closed." I hang up. Pissed. There's no sign saying the clinic is not opening, yet somehow Jefferson Park knew they were closed! What a joke of an operation.

Overcharged Copay & Inability to Verify Insurance--Requesting Manager Follow‑Up…read more I had a scheduled appointment today, Sunday, June 29, 2025, at 9:20am at Physicians Immediate Care on Northwest Highway in Chicago. I checked in early, pre-registered as usual, and was promptly informed by the front‑desk receptionist that my copay would be $60. I reminded her that under my Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance (BCBS PPO), my copay is actually $20 for primary care and $30 for specialists. She admitted that her system couldn't verify insurance on a Sunday, calling it "wonky with BCBS," and stated that they must charge me $60 upfront, with a promise of reimbursement later. When I asked them to bill my insurance directly, she spoke with a colleague and insisted billing in advance was impossible. As someone with 17years of experience working in a physician's office, I've never encountered a situation where a provider refuses to bill insurance and overcharges based on a system glitch. This appears to me to be potentially fraudulent. How is it compliant to: 1. Overcharge me for a copay you know is incorrect? 2. Guarantee reimbursement, yet refuse to bill my insurer? 3. Turn me away from care based on a "system" limitation? I've visited this clinic several times--including on Thursday of this week--and was never charged extra or refused service. I feel dismissed and unjustly billed today. Legal Protections & My Rights 1. Illinois Surprise Billing Protections Illinois law (Public Act 96‑1523) prohibits balance billing for insured patients receiving care at in-network facilities. Providers can only collect your in-network cost-sharing amounts, such as copays, coinsurance, or deductibles--not arbitrary or inflated charges . 2. Federal No Surprises Act (2022) Similarly, this law safeguards patients from surprise billing in emergencies or when treated at in-network facilities by out-of-network clinicians. While urgent care doesn't fall under "emergency," your copay still must match the in-network agreed amount -- and your insurer pays the rest . 3. PPO Contract & Illinois Statute Under PPO agreements and Illinois statutes, providers may only charge up to the negotiated in-network co-payment, deductible, or coinsurance--not exceed it or delay insurance claims without justification(). 4. BCBS Illinois Verification Requirements Providers are contractually bound to verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to service . To refuse billing your insurance on the basis of a "Sunday system issue" is unacceptable and contrary to these standards. What I Am Requesting * A manager from Physicians Immediate Care or BCBS liaison to contact me within 24 hours to: 1. Explain why I was unable to receive care and billed incorrectly. 2. Correctly bill BCBS for my visit and adjust my out‑of‑pocket to the proper copay of $20. 3. Provide assurance this situation won't recur. Under federal and state law, consumers are never allowed to waive their protections or be subject to inflated balance billing . Next Steps I Will Take * File a complaint with the Illinois Department of Insurance and the Federal No Surprises Help Desk if I don't receive a satisfactory resolution . * Consider contacting BCBS Illinois Provider Services to confirm they received any legitimate claims tied to my visit . I've been a loyal patient and returned most recently just last Thursday without issue. It's disheartening to be turned away and overcharged today. I expect professional resolution and respect for my rights under the law. Please call me to rectify this matter promptly.

Due to Covid, there were instructions posted on the front window to call. Once I phoned, I was guided through what to expect by the individual who answered and told to wait in my car. The communication was great as it was very detailed and I knew what to expect. When Dr. Vitulski came to my car, she gave me a new clean mask and asked that I replace the cloth mask I wearing. Dr. Vitulski stood outside my car at a distance and took all my information. The only time I needed to enter the building was to give a urine sample. *Here is where I had my issue with a previous visit: I had a UTI at the beginning of the year and my sample was sent to a group that was not covered under my insurance. My insurance is an all-or-nothing so I did check on-line prior to the visit that the facility was covered but never thought to check on the lab. I had to pay the full amount for the testing. For this visit, before I left the building, I asked the individual behind the desk that they please check my insurance and send to a group that is covered under my insurance. They did... all was covered. When I exited the building, I waited in my car for a call with a follow-up and the initial results. Within a short period of time, the call came and we discussed what medications I needed and how much. I was also given details of what to do if there were any further issues. This was all done seamlessly, safely and with great detail. I felt that I was already armed with all the information that I needed and I was very impressed with the follow-up text... and even more impressed with the follow-up phone calls to see how I was doing.

I thought about the…read morefrequent chem trails that criss-cross in all different directions up in the sky on a clear day and wondered what effect the noxious chemicals that we're being sprayed with have on our health. I'd been having symptoms of the infection for 7-10 days when I decided to schedule an appointment at the Sauganash Immediate Care facility on April 10, 2026. I was running late and I wished that I could've simply called the site directly to let them know and change my appointment to a later time, but unfortunately there's just a general number for all the sites that is answered by that obnoxious fake AI voice - it's virtually impossible to talk to a real person. When I arrived at the center there was a nice guy at the desk who greeted me. There was a phone on the desk, so I knew that I could've easily just called and talked with him on that phone to let him know that I needed to reschedule for a later slot that afternoon. The most convenient way to communicate for many patients is via a simple phone call, not an app or a website. He informed me that the medical staff was out to lunch and would be back in 45 minutes. I just decided to sit and wait. Forty-five minutes later I was seen by a nurse practitioner, Joanne Da Silva. She listened to my lungs and determined that they were not severely congested and that I did not have pneumonia. She also ordered a COVID test that was negative. She advised me that if my symptoms worsened, I should come back and they would do a chest x-ray and prescribe an antibiotic. At that point I should've said that if my symptoms had not decreased or became more severe, why don't you give me the prescription for the antibiotic now and I can just have it filled in two weeks if I need it - rather than come back a second time and pay again for a follow-up appointment for the same illness. I didn't do that, however, but will do that in future visits to IC centers. Or there should be an easy way to contact the facility and request that the prescription be sent directly to my pharmacy without having to make a second visit. The issues I had were not with Joanne, but with the powers-that-be in her organization that I'm sure are probably in compliance with federal laws. I had problems with the treatment options (all OTC medications) that were offered to me: either regular Mucinex or Coricidin, a nasal spray ("Ocean" brand or Neil Med Sinus Rinse that I'd never heard of and are not available at local pharmacies were specifically recommended on the After Visit Summary instructions). I went to a local pharmacy and checked out the active as well as the inactive ingredients of the medications. Both of these name-brand medications are expensive and not covered by my AETNA PPO insurance. I also compared the ingredients to their generic counterparts. The active ingredients for the Mucinex knock-off were the same as the name-brand and the inactive ingredients were very similar: cornstarch, several dyes to make the pills look appealing, magnesium stearate, maltodextrin (Dr Eric Berg, a renowned natural food and supplements expert, states in one of his videos that maltodextrin is a totally vile substance that is harmful to one's health and has no benefits whatsoever), microcrystalline cellulose, polyethylene glycol, polysorbate 80, polyvinyl alcohol alcohol, povidone, silicon dioxide, sodium starch glyconate, stearic acid, talc, and titanium oxide. If anyone out there can explain to me why these ingredients are necessary and promote healing I would be totally shocked! I purchased this item, but just couldn't make myself take any and will be returning them to the pharmacy this week. In the meantime, a friend of mine who is knowledgeable about natural remedies gave me a bottle of capsules called Z-Stack by Zelenko Labs that has vitamin C , vitamin D3, zinc, and quercetin. I hope (knock on wood) that I will be totally well very soon now. Next time I go to an IC center (which hopefully will be a long time from now -maybe never) that I'll have a much more positive experience than I had this time.
