***Just to make you aware this immediate care center has relocated to suite 130*** I'm am up from Louisville, Kentucky visiting my cousins for family time. I have been up here since Saturday and we have been out here in these cold Chicago streets living life. Sunday my throat felt a little scratchy, by Monday I was worried. All throughout the night, I was awakened to the pain from swallowing that intensified as the night progressed to morning. By this morning I could not swallow without major pain and I could feel the drainage in my ears and sinuses. I was nervous about coming here because of the Yelp reviews but my cousin in law said this is the only immediate care he goes to. My experience was excellent from beginning to end. I arrived and was immediately greeted for check in. Check in was about 10 minutes to answer all the questions and sign the all of the consent forms. The gentleman who checked me in spoke clearly and was extremely nice. I waited about 5 minutes and I was called back by the nurse. The nurse was extremely friendly and efficient also. She asked me symptom questions and took my pulse and blood pressure. She Then left and said the doctor would be with me shortly. I waited less than five minutes for Dr. Shah to arrive. Dr. Shah introduced herself and then asked me questions about my sickness. She took the time to listen to my symptoms and she also took the time to just let me talk about how was I was physically feeling. She then checked my nose, ears and throat and we discussed my pain level. After she diagnosed me, we talked about the medication that she was prescribing me, the possible side effects and what to do to combat the pain until I started to heal. Lastly, she placed my prescription to my pharmacy of choice. She then printed off my "After Visit Summary" sheet and walked me out. Though I would rather have not gotten sick during my visit to my cousins, I am thankful I choose this immediate care company and location. If I am in the Chicago area again and get sick, I will be intentional of driving to this specific location. read more

I have been calling the urgent care to speak to a manager concern a return to work letter that a nurse practitioner and was not cosigned by medical doctor. I have not been able to get in touch with a manager I have been given the runaround The manager will not answer any of my calls I don't know what type of urgent Care facility this is but they are not professional at all. read more

My fiancé and I wasted 45 minutes of our lives in the waiting room waiting to get Covid tests. The doctor who called me talked over me and was very rude and refused to test me saying I could go to work despite having covid symptoms. The worst part of the whole experience was that the front desk man was openly sexist and wouldn't talk to me, only to my fiancé. "Doctors" like the ones at North Western are why Covid is so bad right now. read more

Wow. I've never had a good experience with doctors until this place. First, making an appointment was super easy via their online system. Put in my availability and insurance and everything was taken care of, and I had an appointment confirmation the next day. I had seen many good reviews of Dr. Alt, and they were not wrong. She was informative, and didn't rush through my appointment. The highlight of my experience was getting blood drawn (something I am NOT good at!) and the nurse, Ann, was literally the best. Barely felt the needle, she walked me through the whole process. If I had it my way, no one else would ever take my blood. I'm also loving their online medical records system, very easy-to-use layout, and I just got test results back, and now I'm able to message Dr. Alt and make a followup, all online. Overall, this facility was great. I intend to return for future appointments with Dr. Alt, and if I need urgent care in the future, I would make this place a top choice. read more

I love NMPG! I have been a patient at NMPG since 2009 and I have really enjoyed all of my experiences here. I initially saw Dr. Alt at the Sheffield office, then the Belmont office and now her permanent home in Evanston and she's always been a fantastic primary care doctor. Dr. Alt is very good at listening to patients' needs and concerns and addressing them in a timely manner. She has a great bedside manner and she is very caring toward all of her patients and the people with whom she works. The facility here in Evanston is also lovely. NMPG has, in recent years, made a concerted effort to revamp all of their facilities and they've done a fantastic job. The new offices in Evanston and on Belmont in Chicago are newly appointed, totally electronic and super efficient. The furniture is new, comfortable and the rooms are very patient-friendly. Their new offices also have space for diagnostic testing, so there's no longer a need to go off-site for routine blood work. The Evanston office has a designated parking lot about half a block away from the main entrance, but there's almost always street parking available right outside the door for cheap. Each new office also has an Immediate Care facility in the ground level that is open 365 days a year, 8am - 8pm. I've visited the center on Belmont and my physician was prompt, caring and responsive to my acute illness and needs. I really appreciated the short wait time and the doctor's ability to electronically fill a prescription for me so it was ready to pickup at my pharmacy 15 minutes after I left the office. It is obvious that the Northwestern Hospital doctors' offices and the NMPG offices have made an effort to streamline and expedite their services while also continuing to provide caring, polite customer service. I have had better and better experiences with Northwestern since 2009 because they have really responded to patients' comments in improving their facilities and customer service. As a patient, I really appreciate this effort because wait times have become shorter, appointments are honored on time and the doctor visit process has become streamlined while still maintaining great quality care. read more

Regarding the Northwestern group including urgent care and the group of doctors in same building. DO NOT GO HERE. There's a guy named Elston who manages the doctors, and he is a confused nut. When you have to access the guy who manages the doctors and he flies out in a sweaty mess adjusting a bright blue way-too-tight suit you have to focus on his problem, not yours. Very uncomfortable guy. He seems to manage the doctors so let me begin. I was going to change my primary doctor, not that I don't like my present one but this location was convenient to walk into as it's near where I work seven days a week. I happened to be late the first meeting with the primary, named Eleanor Smith, an older woman in her late 50's who I thought would be a nice change from my male docs. I came in eight minutes late, she was so abrasive, she told me she has only 8 minutes left for me. What? She argued the minutes, rolled her eyes, had no concern about WHY I was there. Frankly I was hoping to just start with a new doc, inform her what I needed follow up with (women stuff) and hey, I was being responsible about my healthcare. But she was so nasty. In fact, the attitude had me think wow, she is the poster doctor for the quintessential narcissist, with the rolling eyes at me because I told her if I'm late 8 minutes and she only has 8 left, that means I only had a 16 minute appt? I left my appt and asked for the manager, who was too sweaty (ok it's summer, but...) Elton feigned an iota of concern, pretended, I mean. I wrote the doctor on my chart she was abrasive and that was not okay. Come on, people, we don't deserve that attitude from our doctors, we are holistic beings prone to illness from, imagine this -- such psychological abuse. The stress of it. So I complained about Eleanor Smith, as she is a DOCTOR for God's sake. She answered on My Chart saying "sorry you feel that way." So, folks, you know that is not an apology. Clearly she wasn't sorry for her behavior, especially when confronted with it. I went back to her though, giving her a second chance, and most of my appointment was about issues she had no idea about and told me to follow with specialists. But she did tell me to wait for a call from a therapist who practices in her building. I discovered that was a lie, there are none that practice at Sherman. She lied. She should have followed up about it, known what she was talking about. But no, she has me wait for some call that never comes. She didn't respond after a week or two or three on My Chart, she had some nurse reply for her error. I decided to Google who this ignorant doctor was and "God's sake" appeared. She used to be a rabbi! She wanted to help people in a different way, so she became a doctor! Wow! So I should tell you that I have found so many damaging hypocrites in this Jewish community in Chicago I do not mind saying. I'm Jewish and found the bureaucracy of Jewish people who run the Jewish community of Chicago to be criminals. Yes, literally and they are in bed with the corruption of this county, the crooks who run it. And her attitude lined up. So I wrote something to her on my chart about her stint as a rabbi, how abrasive she came off, and do you think she wanted to take on a humble stance about it? NO OF COURSE NOT. She satisfied all expectations. She cried to the head of whoever at Northwestern, the other uptight ill-fitting suits, the sweaty men and one of them investigators tried to get ahold of someone else about this, which led to violating confidentiality and their stumbling in the aftermath of their errors. Their management are bumbling fools. I'm not able to completely share with you how they bumbled through that part of it, but what I discovered through a letter was they cut me off from northwestern medicine. I guarantee you it probably saved my life somehow. I have seen a few of their specialists, the dermatologist and the allergist, both had textbook knowledge of the skin from the 70's , and they were maybe in their thirties. And hurried and unspecific and wrong about so many things. The allergist sent me to some guy in Chicago who she says does allergy testing. I wait about three weeks to see him and then he tells me he only does MAKEUP testing . I don't wear makeup much...what's this? I made sure he does all sorts of allergy testing, and ugghh what's her name...Kim Anderson I think, just a bumbling dummie sending me to get makeup tested without checking what this allergy test was. NORTHWESTERN is an example of our terrible healthcare system. And an example of how our bureaucracies as well, the ones who tell us they care, are the ones to watch out for, wolves in sheeps clothing. Make sure you get there BEFORE the stated closing time (even though we were) AND BEFORE THE "LAST PATIENT SEEN AT 7:45" (even though we were) because apparently the doors automatically lock on something called "Northwestern Time" which, in case you're wondering, is seven (7) minutes ahead of normal human time. FURTHERMORE ON A SIDE NOTE- ALL URGENT CARES SHOULD BE OPEN UNTIL MIDNIGHT!!! What's the point if they are only open for limited hours?? Keep them open, stay out of Emergency Rooms for "less than major" stuff. read more

I visited the immediate care clinic today because our pediatrician's walk-in clinic and the Target clinic were both closed for the holiday. I can't believe we haven't been here sooner! The entire staff was great and the facility was brand new and state-of-the-art. They are open 365 days a year, even on holidays. I was in and out of there and back home within 40 minutes -- which would have been about half the wait time at the ER (if we were lucky)! read more

This is a great addition to the neighborhood! I walked in at 8 am on a Saturday and was seen right away. Everyone was very professional and friendly. Doc I saw was impressive-knew his stuff, ruled out worst case scenario and diagnosed my issue. Saved me a weekend of worry before I could get to my regular physician. Very pleasant offices too. They also have physicians on staff for regular appointments. read more

If I thought my experience with this office couldn't get worse, I have spent the last week talking to representatives from their office regarding my misdiagnosis only to receive an additional bill for $180. I spoke with the director of this group whom said he would look into the original misdiagnosis, but they must be out of their minds if they think I will pay another dime. I have been going to Northwestern for about 25 years, and in the last 8-10 years they have grown, expanded, etc...their "oh-hold" message touts their growth, their love of clients, their world-class service. However, their service does not match the exaggerated, blustery rhetoric. Good luck communicating with any functionality with your doctor, getting prescriptions refilled is a nightmare, and their MyNM Chart website has proven to be useless. Although many of the doctors are knowledgeable and pleasant, their customer service is about one step up from dealing with the DMV. SOMEONE, please open up an alternative. I will go to any new medical group in a heartbeat. read more

Horrible communication. I would suggest they find a way to ensure pharmacy's get a prescription and ALSO notify you after they did that - email or text is fine. Please figure out a solution rather than blaming the pharmacy - you waste my and you're time when I have to call the pharmacy and your office 3 times each. read more

This is a new Northwestern Medicine clinic that opened a few weeks ago. Services offered are internal medicine with two female providers who are accepting new patients. They offer late hours on Monday and Tuesday. Downstairs offers an immediate care center that is walk in - no appointment necessary. Both floors take most insurances and offer financial assistance. I tried to call to schedule an appointment with Dr. Alt to establish care with a new primary care physician because I have only heard excellent reviews about her. I waited on hold with the call center for 9 minutes and no one ever answered. I hung up and called a North Shore internists office and a human being answered after the second ring and I had a scheduled appointment/labs ordered etc. in under 2 minutes. If Northwestern wants to compete with North Shore, they need to start by having someone that actually answers the telephones. read more

This is a great service and addition to downtown evanston but seriously the waits are ridiculous. I was the first person in this morning and I still waited 30 mins to see someone while the doctor didn't even have the courtesy to come to work on time. It's a Wednesday and people have places to be. Dr. Alt is phenomenal. The office is usually able to get me in to see her same or next day whenever I need to. I have had many bad experiences with doctors, but Dr. Alt is sensitive, reassuring, and really good at answering questions, even if I have a lot. I also saw Dr. Smith once when Dr. Alt was out of town, and she was also very nice and approachable, even though I had just met her. Overall, I am very impressed with NMPG! read more

The service is quick and the staff are helpful. Dr. Alt is by far the best doctor I've ever had. She seems very knowledgable and attentive. She was very thorough in going over my issues and very engaged in trying to fix the problem. read more
