Dr Tran and her staff are always professional and explain things before they happen which helps to relieve any anxiety when you get a cleaning or X-ray. I've experienced zero pain at her dental office. I'm used to leaving sore at other dental offices but not once have a left in any pain or soreness. I can't say enough good things about Dr Tran and her ethics. She doesn't find unnecessary things to do to get money nor are her fees high when you have to pay 20 percent or whatever isn't covered by your insurance plan. Very honest business! If I could give New Leaf Dentistry 5,000,000 stars... I would. I don't even live in San Diego, yet I schedule all my flights to come here and have my teeth cleaned. IT'S THAT GOOD. Here are the TOP REASONS why I really, really love Dr. Tran: 1. She's super sweet, which is great, but she's incredibly professional as well. Combine these two thing together, and you have a fantastic dentist. These words coming from someone that generally hates dentists. 2. Having my teeth done here is EASY. My appointments are always on time. They always end within the timeframe they gave me (if not earlier). When I feel like someone respects my time, I am in love. 3. Communication is great. Whether it's talking about what's happening at your appointment, or it's over email. Expect to be in the know. 4. It's PAINLESS. I recently had a crown done and it was .. the easiest thing. Dr. Tran was incredibly sensitive to any pain I might be feeling but often times I was asking "Should this hurt? It doesn't". I had the easiest experience getting a crown and everything I expected to have happen (see #3) .. happened. Wow, right? 5. Follow up. After my crown Dr Tran checked in several times to make sure I was doing well. HOW NICE RIGHT? If this woman ain't touching your teeth, you're doing something wrong. I love this place. I've had a great experience with Dr. Tran for both a regular cleaning and a crown. I was nervous about getting a crown on my lateral incisor as it's at the front of my mouth and challenging to just do 1 crown instead of both incisors at the same time. If you're looking for a new dentist I highly recommend Dr. Tran! I've been going to Dr. Tran for a couple of years now and I don't plan on changing that anytime soon. She is very professional and conscientious of your time. I've never had to wait longer than a couple of minutes for my appointments. You can tell she cares a lot about her patients because she makes sure to reach out after any procedure to check in and see how you're doing. Found my new dentist, and she is amazing! Been a while since I was seen and I finally put on my big kid pants and went. Her office is in the strip with 7-Eleven towards the back. I have found parking to be tricky just because the area gets busy. Love this office, love the staff, love Dr Tran. Very responsive! I had a tooth emergency, and I texted Dr. Tran's office early in the morning asking if they had any openings for a new patient. They quickly replied and were very helpful even though they weren't even open yet. Dr. Phuong Tran at New Leaf Dentistry is INCREDIBLE. Before seeing her, I hadn't been to a dentist in years and years. I don't floss, I oftentimes fall asleep without brushing my teeth, and I drink a lot of things like coffee and soda that stain teeth. I know I'm making myself sound disgusting, but hey, this is Yelp, not Tinder, so it's important to be honest. Anyway, needless to say, my mouth wasn't the healthiest and my teeth were looking yellowed. I completely expected to be in excruciating pain while Dr. Tran worked on me, but that wasn't the case at all. I've been to quite a few dentists in my life, but never have I met one that made my comfort such a priority. Constantly checking if I was ok (not that she needed to, since she is very precise and skilled with her hands), even little things like putting balm on my lips to keep them comfortable while I was worked on. Long story short, my teeth are now looking better than they ever have in my whole life. Immediately after my cleaning, they were already whiter, since she removed surface stains, and I hadn't even started bleaching yet! Dr. Tran is wonderful! I was nervous when the previous dentist in this space, Dr. Lee, sold his practice. Dr. Lee was the first dentist I actually liked, and I was sad when he moved. But Dr. Tran took over the practice, and she's great! She's very warm and smiley. What I like most about her is that she doesn't scold or shame you for not having perfect teeth. I could honestly take better care of my teeth, and her gentle encouragement and advice has helped me a lot more than shaming would have. I'm getting a cavity filled on Saturday (cleaning was today). Not all dentists have Saturday hours so this is great. Saw the new patient special every time I went to drop off the kids or pick them up from preschool just around the corner from here. Finally stopped in. They got me in a couple days later and had a bunch of times to choose from. My old dentists I had to book months ahead. Like I can accurately schedule that far out. The receptionists actually called me to remind me of the appointment. Not a computer. Very friendly. The hygienists did a skip/run from placing the xray to taking the picture. She said I know it is uncomfortable so I want it done as quick as possible. Super sweet service! Phuong did a thorough examination and cleaning. Tought me what to look out for and how to care for certain things to avoid more work later. Not at all an up salesman like my last dentists. I never really loved my dentist until I met Dr. Tran. Not only is she friendly, but Dr. Tran really knows what she is doing. I figured that I had a few cavities when I saw little dark spots on some of my teeth. After the X Rays, I was pleased to hear that i was cavity free. Dr.Tran informed me that my fillings from 10 years ago were beginning to decay and that is why I had those spots. She advised me to replace the fillings within the next year. I had a tooth ache and was looking for a new dentist in the area as I recently moved here. I contacted Dr. Phuong's office and from the minute I spoke with the front office manager, Maritsa, I was hooked. Maritsa was caring, knowledgeable and friendly. I was able to get in that day and was pleasantly surprised at the convenient location. I was greeted with a smile. The dental assistant, Jose, took me in and was friendly and put me at ease. He took x-rays quickly and efficiently. Dr. Tran, a female, came in with a warm and caring and empathetic personality. She gave me the options that I had available to me.
