I love Dr. Nelson! She is very gentle and thoughtful and you get to see her and only her every time you go in. She does not try to sell you what you do not need...um, like crowning teeth that don't really need to be crowned. She is very honest and is a good dentist. After a rough time with a root canal I had to have done she called me on the weekend to make sure I was OK, I love that she takes her patients very personal. Scheduled my first appointment for a teeth cleaning. The dentist was really nice and thorough. Office was clean and easy to find parking. Only hiccup was submitting my information prior to the appointment. They reached out one business day prior to my appointment to collect additional information. They required this information within a few hours to keep my appointment that had been scheduled for over a month. Disappointed with the customer service aspect on this but ended up being happy with the dentist. Would recommend. read more

I was referred to Sheryl Nelson DDS for a crown. While doing the initial examination, she talked with her dental assistant about a movie they both saw, and didn't ask me any questions about my teeth. She applied the anesthetic injection and left the room. When she returned 30 minutes later, she was still talking with her dental assistant, didn't check to see if the tooth area was numb enough, and began to drill right away. I immediately groaned loudly from pain and dug my fingernails into the seat of the dental chair. She quickly said: "You need sedation dentistry for your dental anxiety." which shocked me because I don't have dental anxiety. She referred me to a colleague who would charge $3500 cash for 2 appointments which required no food for 18 hours before the 1st appointment; heavy-duty prescription oral sedation 1 hour before the appointment; someone to drive me to-&-from the office; someone to stay with me for the rest of the day in case there were dental/medical complications; and waiting a month for the new crown to be made and applied at the 2nd appointment. I didn't schedule an appointment because I don't have dental anxiety. I went to a dentist highly recommended by a trusted friend. This dentist was friendly, listened attentively, took a thorough history, said I did not have dental anxiety, and provided excellent service. In summary, Dr. Nelson was arrogant, inattentive, insensitive to the needs of dental patients, and provided below standard of care. read more

I have to give a shout out to Dr Sheryl Nelson! no one likes to get their teeth drilled... I usually find myself white knuckling it on the chair.. But I have never been more comfortable in a dentist chair before! Dr. Nelson gave me two new crowns and the whole process was comfortable. Even getting the novocain was painless. If this review were based solely on the performance of Dr. Nelson and her hygenists on staff then easily would give her a 5 star rank. However, after spending thousands of dollars at her office I received a rather snarky comment attach to a bill less than $40 which was sent to my office and made reference that I was a criminal for not having satified my debt yet. The true irony behind it was I did not find out about this balance due until I had broken a tooth and had to get in to see a brand new dentist due to Dr. Nelson's limited hours of operation and needed my records sent to the other office. As someone working in the financial realm I too am forced to collect on old balances, however, when these types of unprofessional situations occur it saddens me to no end as it can ultimately lead to the demise of what would normally be a great dentist. read more

I love Dr. Nelson and her staff. She has the nicest front office and the best hygienist as well! I have seen her for years. When my insurance changed, she was willing to sign up for the new plan, and the process was not easy! She sees all of my family members, even my husband who had not been to the dentist for 5 years! When my mother-in-law was in town and developed a tooth ache, she gave her emergency advice and even called to check on her! My teenage son needed an appointment on his day off from school, and the office staff kept him on a cancel list in case an appointment came up, then called us when one did!
