I ordered 2 chicken pho and was told it would be about a 20 minute wait; the cost was a tad more than I expected (about 30 USD)... I sat in the waiting area for maybe10 minutes before my order was ready. The soup was good. The flavor of the broth is delicate but the hoisin and sriracha amp it up, as well as the accoutrements (bean sprouts, jalapeño slices and mint). I have only had pho from one other restaurant (several years ago) but can't compare the recipes. However, I definitely recommend trying Pho Street.

It was a…read morehot day, so I opted for a banh mi rather than any kind of pho, and it was really good - shrimp banh mi, holding the mayo. The bread was just the right level of crispy, and all the ingredients were right on point. Definitely would come back to try another banh mi, or another dish! They were good about service as well - the server came by many times to refill our water, and when I had a complaint about what didn't look right in my sandwich the first time, he went and made another one. Inside, it's not a huge space, but it looks nice inside and is pretty clean. Probably not great for a big group, but good for smaller groups. I'd be down to return!

The food was not good. Dumbed down. Missing almost everything I expect in Vietnamese/Thai food…read more.. mint, Thai basil, cilantro, fish sauce, chiles, maybe perilla, lemongrass, garlic, ginger, shallots, etc.. Biting into the small summer roll ("Garden Roll") was the opposite of the refreshing crisp, pop-of-herbs & vegetable bite, I expect. Peanut sauce was OK. Banh mi didn't seem to be dressed and had no jalapenos, but did have a sprig (1) of cilantro. Dominant flavor came from the sesame seeds on the roll. Sauce for the salad was a one dimensional - a thin sugar syrup. Another bad meal in a trend of bad meals in this area. So who do I blame - the restaurant or the customers who ensure that bland food like this continues to be output ? Because, after all, a restaurant needs to please its customers to stay in business. Maybe the restaurant should post a warning or offer an option for authentic food. Oh, also... When I was trying to place the order through the website, it tells me orders are not being accepted. Then I'm sent to DoorDash to place the order. Seriously!? I used the phone.

I was craving for Vietnamese (and no where near South Philly) so we decided to stop by at Hanoi's Pho. I remember going here long time ago when it was a different Vietnamese restaurant. Upon entering I realized that the lighting was a bit dim, and tables and chairs looked outdated. There were enough customers so we decided to stay. The service was pretty good, just two younger men manning the front. My daughter ordered pho and she said it was pretty good; I ordered house vermicelli, and it was just okay (I had it better elsewhere); and my husband ordered some type of a clay pot pork belly and shrimp dish. He said it was a bit salty and wished they had added some vegetables. Overall, it was just an okay experience.

The breading on the banh mi is always a favorite, and the furikake fries had great flavor. My go to is the honey chicken Banh mi which never disappoints. To the point - it was ok but not that great…read more Mi n Tea caught my eye with their Gettin' Fancy Banh Mi, so I'll start there. I got the filet mignon medium rare and did not remove any of the standard offerings. First bite was just a carrot overload, they say the carrots are pickled but that acidity just wasn't there so it was just carrot flavor. The filet mignon is fried but didn't have a crunch or much seasoning to it so it relatively tasted like a meat was present. The "House special sauce" had such a minuscule effect on the sandwich until the end middle of the half. The bread was standard Banh Mi baguette style roll but wasn't anything remarkable in regard to crunch, softness and taste. Overall I give the Gettin' Fancy an unfortunate 3/10 "The Classic" held up to it a name, it's very much a classic Banh mi, we initially thought the "belly cuts" were going to be more of a thick pork belly but was deli slice thin. Not a big problem but the sandwich lacked depth, I found myself hav3 similar flavor experiences between the two sandwiches which wasn't great but I think that comes from the overuse of the vegetables which overshadowed the meats for me. I give "The Classic" a ok 4/10 The Bulgogi Bowl was pretty good, I think the heavy hand of veggies work here. I do however wish the beef itself was a bit more seasoned as again it just felt like a cooked beef meat and lacked the flavorful addition it so desperately needed. The Bulgogi Bowl gets an ok 4.5/10 The Furikake Fries were the star but mainly because nothing else shined. The furikake seasoning was just thrown on top of truthful really well fried fries. They had a great crunch and were a bit airy, very small but still satisfying. The season didn't do much, I wish that added maybe a garlic oil and tossed them in the seasoning instead of just sprinkling it on top. It came with spicy ketchup which we actually, it's nothing too crazy, very true to the name. The Furikake Fries get a nice 6.5/10 We got 3 drinks but I forgot to snap a picture, forgive me. We got the Matcha Cloud Latte, Mi n' Tea Milk Tea, and some coffee but didn't try that so I can't judge. The milk tea was terrible, very standard Milk tea with zero personality, and the boba was very plain which barely any sweetness. The only grace I will give is that I did order the sweetness level to 75% so maybe the 100% is better but overall it wasn't creaming in the slightest, and was soooo watery. The Mi n' Tea Milk Tra gets a sad 1/10 I'm not the biggest matcha fan but I thought the Matcha Cloud Latte was pretty good. Same 75% sweetness but it was still pretty good. I'm not too well versed on matcha so I don't have much to say, overall giving the Matcha Cloud Latte a solid 7/10 The service was good, not the biggest space, very standard cafe, but not much seating. I was really looking forward to the Banh mis but they ended up being Bad and Mid.

The meat was mostly good. My favorite was the sausage. It was so flavorful and unique. The chicken was on the drier side and a little tough for me. I did get a rouge small bone in one of the pieces. The rest was also seasoned very well and had a touch of sweetness almost like a bulgogi, but more savory. The egg roll was also fried to perfection - crispy but not greasy. The papaya salad was good. I found nothing too special about it. The beef jerky was not dry or tough at all and I thought was the star of the salad Overall, I liked this place and would come back. The (red) meats definitely stand out and are stars here

However, closer questioning reveals an issue: their shared fryer. Because tofu and spring rolls are fried in the same oil as meat or seafood, cross-contamination is a major concern. If you are comfortable with cross-contamination, there are more options available, but be sure to leave out the fish sauce.
