We've been here several times now and usually go for the banh mi and rice bowls. This time we tried the filet mignon rice bowl, blueberry lemonade, and fries for the first time, and everything was really good. The breading on the banh mi is always a favorite, and the furikake fries had great flavor. My go to is the honey chicken Banh mi which never disappoints. The staff is always friendly, and even though the dining area is small, we've never had an issue finding a table. We really like having a spot like this on Main Street and hope it sticks around for a long time! read more

To the point - it was ok but not that great Mi n Tea caught my eye with their Gettin' Fancy Banh Mi, so I'll start there. I got the filet mignon medium rare and did not remove any of the standard offerings. First bite was just a carrot overload, they say the carrots are pickled but that acidity just wasn't there so it was just carrot flavor. The filet mignon is fried but didn't have a crunch or much seasoning to it so it relatively tasted like a meat was present. The "House special sauce" had such a minuscule effect on the sandwich until the end middle of the half. The bread was standard Banh Mi baguette style roll but wasn't anything remarkable in regard to crunch, softness and taste. Overall I give the Gettin' Fancy an unfortunate 3/10 "The Classic" held up to it a name, it's very much a classic Banh mi, we initially thought the "belly cuts" were going to be more of a thick pork belly but was deli slice thin. Not a big problem but the sandwich lacked depth, I found myself hav3 similar flavor experiences between the two sandwiches which wasn't great but I think that comes from the overuse of the vegetables which overshadowed the meats for me. I give "The Classic" a ok 4/10 The Bulgogi Bowl was pretty good, I think the heavy hand of veggies work here. I do however wish the beef itself was a bit more seasoned as again it just felt like a cooked beef meat and lacked the flavorful addition it so desperately needed. The Bulgogi Bowl gets an ok 4.5/10 The Furikake Fries were the star but mainly because nothing else shined. The furikake seasoning was just thrown on top of truthful really well fried fries. They had a great crunch and were a bit airy, very small but still satisfying. The season didn't do much, I wish that added maybe a garlic oil and tossed them in the seasoning instead of just sprinkling it on top. It came with spicy ketchup which we actually, it's nothing too crazy, very true to the name. The Furikake Fries get a nice 6.5/10 We got 3 drinks but I forgot to snap a picture, forgive me. We got the Matcha Cloud Latte, Mi n' Tea Milk Tea, and some coffee but didn't try that so I can't judge. The milk tea was terrible, very standard Milk tea with zero personality, and the boba was very plain which barely any sweetness. The only grace I will give is that I did order the sweetness level to 75% so maybe the 100% is better but overall it wasn't creaming in the slightest, and was soooo watery. The Mi n' Tea Milk Tra gets a sad 1/10 I'm not the biggest matcha fan but I thought the Matcha Cloud Latte was pretty good. Same 75% sweetness but it was still pretty good. I'm not too well versed on matcha so I don't have much to say, overall giving the Matcha Cloud Latte a solid 7/10 The service was good, not the biggest space, very standard cafe, but not much seating. Oh my gosh, I love this place so much. I immediately said that we needed to bring food from my in-laws from here. I've been on a shrimp sandwich, kick lately, and this place delivered. Besides the shrimp bahn mi, we got a bulgogi beef rice bowl which was flavorful and filling. I thoroughly enjoyed my green Thai tea with full sugar (had a conversation with the staff about it and they described it as a little bitter, so to have full sugar or 75%- definitely the right call) and tapioca bubbles. My partner and I split one tofu Banh Mi (8/10) and each got our own drinks (10/10s!) The sandwiches are a good size, we didn't measure but probably a foot long and stuffed to the brim with yummy tofu and veggies. We each got a build-your-own drink, and while we loved them they were very expensive. It doesn't say on the board, but each add on costs at least 50 cents. Our drinks ended up costing $8 each, which we would not have ordered had we realized that. I recommend ordering one of their menu drinks and making adjustments to that instead. The vibes inside are cute, but doesn't seem like a place that loves to have dine ins. They have a counter top and two tables to eat at. Take-out and delivery seem to be there way of business. Overall, we had a good time, but spent much more money than we wanted to. For one sandwich and two drinks our total was just over $30. We'll be going back but getting the drinks already on the menu! This spot is located in a very cute area in Philly, right next to my nail salon. It was highly recommended by everyone in the shop. The cashier was very helpful in assisting me with choosing a drink based on my preferences. I ordered the Lychee Mojito, which was really good and refreshing. Last minute decision to go to Manayunk with the girls... NO REGRETS! Everything was delicious and freshly made. Ordered the Classic and Getting Fancy banh mi and my-oh-my, it was delightful. The bread wasn't too crispy where you would cut the roof off your mouth up. The proportion was just right. Big enough to split one hoagie into 3. We were full. The beef stew was wonderful as well. It was so good, it went from each getting half of a sandwich to here, you can have a few bites. Viet Pork Skewer was cheaper too, but I'm not going to go back to Mi 'N Tea because I just want a banh mi. I'm going to go back to get just that Viet Pork Skewer. During covid, things have to adapt and they did a great job at moving it to a call in and pick up service. Tables lined up for you to pick up your order. This was the first time we ate here. It was a good sandwich for the price I got it for. I also got taro fries with spicy mayo and spicy ketchup. A great addition the Main St! No longer a need to drive to Chinatown or West Philly for banh mis! They unfortunately had their grand opening during a global pandemic but they appear to have taken appropriate measures to ensure employee and customer safety. We ordered online (super easy) and went to pick up. I would say we had a small hiccup in our order (order wasn't ready when we arrived, and by the time we got back home we realized we were missing a hoagie so had to go back and wait for it to be made. Basically ended up taking one whole hour just to get our food back home), but the order was easily fixed. As for the food, I am in no way used to paying $9-12 for banh mis, but with the price comes much better quality! Bread is freshly made, meat is nice and chunky, and veggies are fresh! I first visited Mi 'N Tea for a Yelp event about a year ago, and I thought it was great! When I was in the area for a doctor's appointment last week, I thought it was the perfect time to swing by again for lunch. I ordered: -Thai Sunset: This was thai tea, cream, and cold foam, and it was DELICIOUS. I added boba which in hindsight I don't really think it needed. I usually ask for teas half sweet but it slipped my mind while I was ordering. I actually thought it was great as-is though. It was definitely very sweet and creamy, but it made for a nice treat. -Viet Pork Skewers banh mi: This was another home run. The sandwich is pretty big and I was already getting full after the first half, but I kept eating it until I was done the whole thing because it was so good! When you first unwrap the sandwich, it may look like it doesn't have that much filling, but that's just because the toppings are stuffed inside and the bread has an overhang. If you look at the cross-section you will see there is plenty of goodness inside! -Taro Fries: I love taro and I don't see it available much near me, so it was a no-brainer to add these fries on. They were hot and crisp. One thing I will say is that it seemed like the coating had a little sugar in it which I could have done without, but it was balanced out by dipping in the side of spicy mayo. Note you could also get spicy kethcup instead of mayo if you prefered. Service was great - everyone was really nice and they brought my tea out first while I was waiting for the rest of my order.
