I love coming to Pholosophy because the food is satisfying yet not overly filling. In other words, I leave with a full stomach but never bloated. The rice deluxe platter is my go to, it has everything you'd want for a Vietnamese dish and is fairly reasonably priced for the main line. The Vietnamese coffee is richer than Scrooge McDuck and I mean that in a very good way. I have to force myself drink it slowly because it's so good that I've often found myself slurping it down within a few minutes. Hot or iced, it's excellent. The restaurant is very chill, spacious and allows for privacy. Granted, the seats aren't particularly comfortable, but considering how fast the food gets to your table, you won't care. Staff is always friendly and professional, never had any issues with anyone there. It's also a brilliant place to eat outside in the spring and summertime in particular, since it has such a nice view of Narberth. It's been a great addition to the town since it first opened. read more

This was very mediocre pho. The garnish was very skimpy. It was missing the basil and cilantro. There were like two slices of jalapeño and a tiny little handful of sprouts. There was no sriracha. I got a boiled egg for $3.00. It was literally just a plain hard boiled egg. Ingredient costs: 10 cents. A side of tendon was $7.00. Absolutely not worth it. read more

I've had really good pho on Washington Avenue in Philadelphia and Buford Highway in Atlanta. I've had okay-pho in other places. This falls under the "okay" category. 3.5 stars. Broth, in my opinion, is what makes or breaks the soup and mine was under-developed. My husband and I shared a pork bahn mi sandwich. Not enough meat. Not enough zing. But the bread was crisp. My friends, not too familiar with Vietnamese cuisine, enjoyed their dishes -- chicken com (which looked lacking to me) and some noodle dish. The restaurant is byob. Service is efficient, the restaurant clean and the ambience, sterile. Located less than ten minutes from home -- next door to my hair salon! -- I have no problem coming back. But it's not the type of restaurant I'd travel far to get to. read more

If you are looking for good Vietnamese food in the burb, then pholosophy is it. Their service never disappoints and staff are always friendly. This time we both got their deluxe (everything) pho and the summer rolls with pork and shrimp. As usual the food came out quickly and delicious as usual. The restaurant is small but it is very welcoming which is why this is one of our favorite Vietnamese restaurants. read more

Pholosophy is such a cute lil spot on a cute lil block. The staff are always great and greet you right at the door. I always go for their chicken soup and it never disappoints! They have all the sides and sauces you need. I know I must try something else on their menu but the soup gets me everytime. Always my neighborhood go to spot. read more

A quaint pho place located in Narbeth! We walked in and were instantly greeted and sat at a table. The service was very quick and the guy, may have been the owner was so friendly and extremely helpful! I lovedddd the Pho! The broth had good flavor and there was a nice portion size. The only downside is I'm used to being able to pick my size of Pho, but it was enough given anyway. The beef short rib I tried was extremely tender! I will be returning here for my pho cravings! read more

Service was great. You are immediately greeted and seated with warm and friendly service. The food rolls out quickly. Presentation is there and on a rainy day this really hits the Pho spot. Wish the meat portions were a little bigger and the broth was just a little richer. Either way, a solid spot in town for Pho! Thai tea is always a great pairing. read more

I was visiting my son and he suggested going to this cafe together. I was pleasantly surprised. The food was very tasty and the portions were huge. The prices were more than affordable. We ordered pho beef soup and a luxury grill mix. The cafe is very clean and the waiters are very polite. I highly recommend visiting this cafe. read more

Their instacart Well-Done Brisket menu item incorrectly uses the description for the Deluxe Brisket, and so lists (and so I expected) many ingredients which don't come with this dish. The amount of meat is also disappointing, the single lime wedge given is tiny, and my order was missing both the basil and mint. Disappointing. read more

This used to be a pretty good pho restaurant with a good selection of food offerings as well. Went there last week and was surprised to see that the interior has changed and it is now primarily a takeout place offering pho and a more limited food menu. The summer rolls were very good but the pho had minimal meat and was on the salty side. Would love to see them up their game too where it was read more

I'm not out in this area often, but went I am, I am I find myself craving pho. Pholosophy is a small shop that is ready to deliver. Throw in their $10 a bowl special, and I'm sold! We came in mid-day Sunday after the lunch rush. The restaurant was clean and we were quickly greeted and seated. Having saw the special on the board outside, we knew we were both set for a bowl. I went Deluxe Rare Steak and she went Deluxe Well Done Brisket. The bowls and typically adders (sprouts, lime, basil) arrived in 5-10 minutes. The portion size was on point for the price. Likewise, the protein portioning was appropriate. Most importantly, the taste was excellent. I spiced up the broth a bit, but that is just my overall preference. We finished and both left full enough to have a late dinner! read more

This place is banging. My wife and I had colds all last week and were trapped in the house living off Theraflu and hot tea. So anyway we came out on the other side and both agreed nothing would be better than a hot soup. Now I used to live in South Philly so Pho is my go to for soup. Growing up it was always chicken noodle but nowadays I think most of that is too salty. So we searched around and found this place. It was about 20 minutes away which seems average for Germantown. At least for us. Don't move here without a car. I got a side of spring rolls and she got fried won tons to start. Both were absolutely delicious. We got too much food though. We got Pho bowls on top of that. She got shrimp Pho and I got tofu. The tofu was great. I think they fried it or crusted it a little before putting it in the soup. Most places just toss cubes in. This was a nice change of pace. Service was great and the food was really fast. I'm excited to come back here. Very delicious! read more

The Bun Dac Biet (Deluxe Combination) is simply amazing. I'm a yoga teacher teaching at different studios and I'm always looking for good eats near the studios I work at. I've always been curious about this place and finally got my chance to try it, so I ordered this and loved it. I knew from the very first bite of chicken, that the rest of this was going to be great. The chicken, the steak, the shrimp, and the crispy spring roll were all prepared perfectly and without the added grease you get from other places. I'll try this in-house next time as I only had time to get this to go, so everything looks deconstructed in the container, but I'm sure in-person it will taste as great or even better. Very few Asian places impress me upon first visit as much as this. Five stars for the food! read more

I stopped at Pholosophy for the first time today. I was nervous about parking but found a spot quickly. The neighborhood has street parking and also nearby public lots. A quarter got me 30 minutes and you can also pay the meters on your phone. I got a chicken banh mi and tofu banh mi. Both were good. Rolls were nice and long, and veggies were very fresh. The amount of tofu was very generous and I'm torn whether I like the tofu or chicken Banh mi better. Next time I will need to try some Pho. read more

Good food and service! Really nice people and very accommodating! We love pho and the chicken dish is good too.

I ordered take out with my friend and we kind of regretted it afterwards. The grilled pork banh mi was too marinated, that it overpowered all the other ingredients that are to complement. I had to take a lot of the meat out to balance the flavors. My friend got the ho fun rice noodles, and we really weren't sure what kind of flavor we were supposed to get from it.. Maybe because we did take out, it wasn't as good of a quality but.. There are definitely better places in the area to get these dishes read more

Tonight was my third time ordering takeout from Pholosophy. It's some of the most fabulous, clean, pho I've had and I'm from a large city on the western coast. Always order pho meatballs which are never too meaty or tastes weird. Takeout packaging is perfect and survives falling over/flipping in the car. Highly recommend. Not paid to write this review. Pholosophy - 10. Beef Ball Pho - Vietnamese Near Me - Narberth, Pennsylvania

Wasn't quite impressed with this location. The prices were fairly high compared to similar restaurants. I ordered a chicken over rice dish, and the rice was cooked with some sort of tomato-y sauce. It was a nice surprise and I welcomed the twist compared to the traditional plain white broken rice. The location was nice and clean with parking available nearby. read more

Another fantastic meal here. Fried wonton appetizer was hot crispy and delicious full of pork and shrimp bits. Spring rolls are small but tightly wrapped and fried to perfection. My daughter was going to town on both. We ordered her the beef balls which surprisingly came in beef broth which she also loved! My wife and I both got the Pho Tai. The broth here is very rich and delicious... Compared to other Pho I've had the anise flavor is a bit stronger in their broth but trust me... It's still great! I think their prices are a touch high however I'm sure their rent isn't cheap. Staff is super friendly and nice! The food comes out quick and fresh. I haven't tried any of the fried rice dishes but they look great, same for the Bahn Mi sandwiches, I'll have to remember this place the next time when my wife is in the mood for Pho and I'm not. read more

I ordered the stir-fried noodles with beef. Its basically a big mound of chow mein noodles tossed with small amounts of beef and vegetables. The dish could have done with more beef and vegetables. The noodles had a mildly chemical aftertaste reminiscent of playdough. The beef that was in the dish was soft and tender. And the vegetables seemed fresh enough. Overall, the dish was overpriced at $14. And was not particularly impressive. read more

Glad I found this restaurant on Yelp. I had a taste for spring rolls and chicken vermicelli salad, but both Vietnamese restaurants near me were either closed or closing by 8 PM on a Monday. Pholosophy did not disappoint! They were open until 9 PM. The spring rolls were crisp and not greasy. The chicken vermicelli salad had moist tender chicken slices served with a fresh crispy salad. Although they don't prepare the salad with cilantro, they included a generous sprig upon request. I look forward to ordering the soup on my next visit. read more

Pho Lososphy - Narberth - Pho Losophy is a no-frills Vietnamese restaurant. Service was attentive and swift. We got the tamarind chicken wings, shrimp summer rolls, sugar cane shrimp, Vietnamese coffee and wonton soup, pork pho. Every bite, slurp and sip was very delicious. My favorite was the tamarind chicken wings. Very kid-friendly since nothing was too spicy and he loved the wontons in the soup and all the noodles in the pho. One complaint is that I think it kind of takes away from the dining experience when a huge tv is on in the main part of the dining room (unless you are going to a sports bar where you want and expect that) Anyone else turned off by tvs in the dining room? read more

I always order takeout from here, maybe twice a month, and this time it was very sub-par. The portion sizes were clearly cut, it was almost like they gave us 1/3 of what they used to. This wasn't mentioned on the menu, but it was quite obvious. I would much rather have a normal portion with a little hike in the prices than an extreme cut in portion sizes and the price staying the same. Food still tasted good, just very disappointing. read more

My husband and I dropped by this place for a quick bite since both of us were really hungry. The service was fantastic! We got seated right away and we knew what we wanted so were able to put in our orders immediately. We got some tamarind chicken wings for appetizer and pho for both of us. The wings were cooked nicely, very plump and juicy. I would have liked more of the tamarind sauce but it was overall a good dish. I got my pho with rare steak and tendon. There were a lot of meats and they tasted great! However, the broth and the noodle were just so-so. Broth didn't have a lot of flavor and noodles were a bit chewier than I'd like in my Pho. Overall, I would say 3 stars for food, but I'm giving 4 stars because of the amazing service. Will definitely come back to try other dishes! read more

After craving delicious pho around town, I would have to drive to Philly or settle for local pho which is entirely not flavorful. But coming to this spot, the first impression is parking! Parking is metered with a few blocks around with local shops. Seating is very comfortable. Service is accommodating, kid friendly, fairly quick service. I got #7 Pho Tai Dac Biet. They've got a sweet broth, good cuts of meat! Don't use any hoisin sauce, put all the bean sprouts in, the peppermint is fresh, and green pepper has a light kick. Best of all the smell doesn't stick to your clothing. I would come here with friends or family the next time! read more

First off, I'm really impressed that Vietnamese food has finally made its way into the Philly burbs and that it's gained traction and popularity. It's great that there are options that don't require people to drive through traffic and horrible parking situations in South Philly. The caveat is that you will likely end up finding restaurants that cater to a suburban crowd with (expected) higher pricing and flavors that unfortunately do not feel as authentic. Also, I will be the first to tell you that I am a pho snob, so you can take it for what it's worth. The restaurant is clean and modern, with a mixture of high tops and low tops. We stopped in for dinner on a snowy night - a perfect night for soup. We ordered the lotus root salad with pork and shrimp, their cha gio (crispy Spring rolls), a create your own pho with rare beef and beef balls, and their hot Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk (ca phe sua nong). The lotus root salad came out with chicken, instead of the pork and shrimp that we initially ordered. We didn't feel like sending it back, and the flavor and crunch of the pickled veggies and the lotus root were refreshing. The ca phe sua nong was sweetened enough and pleasantly aromatic and strong. The cha gio was disappointing - the filling was made with mostly taro and lacked much flavor elsewhere. Lastly, our soup bowls came out. The "rare" beef slices were overcooked in the soup, and while the broth is admittedly nice and clean, it's lacking the aromatics of the cinnamon and star anise, as well as the depth that I crave in a traditional pho broth. Overall, this is a decent option if you're in the burbs and you have that pho craving, but it's not going to have that authentic Vietnamese feel and taste in the dishes. read more
