Was craving pho on a random Monday and this was like the only pho place opened around me and it definitely satisfied my cravings!!! I ordered their seafood pho and my boyfriend got their "make your own pho". I must say they are very generous with their quantity and the price is reasonable. Will be back again!!! read more

Great customer service! I am currently in town for short stay. It's snowing and freezing outside. I came in right on the clock of their closing time. They still took me in. The place is clean, friendly staffs, food is good enough. I see other yelpers comparing the taste to authentic pho place. If you want authentic pho, go to Vietnam. I appreciate those owners tried their best to bring tastes to here from Asia. It's very difficult and most of the people are not aware. The regulations, the ingredients, and managing restaurant are all different. Even Michelin star restaurants don't earn all their star based on the taste of the food. This place is a little hidden gem in this small town. Come here to try some hot soup pho. You won't be disappointed. read more

I ordered a grilled pork bahn mi and the vermicelli deluxe broken rice. The flavors were fine, however both the pork and beef were extremely fatty to the point that I couldn't enjoy. I prefer lean meat vs chewing on multiple chunks of fat. Maybe this is the norm for this type of cuisine? read more

I recently decided to try PHOLOSOPHY for some takeout pho, enticed by their menu and looking forward to a delightful meal at home. Unfortunately, the experience was far from what I had anticipated. The portions I received were shockingly scant, leaving me questioning if there had been a mistake. A pho bowl should be hearty and filling, but what I got was a container that looked like a sample rather than an actual meal. The meat included was another major point of contention. It was so egregiously gray that I was concerned for my health at the prospect of eating it. The lack of proper coloration in the meat is usually a sign that something is amiss, and it's not a risk I was willing to take. For those considering PHOLOSOPHY for their pho cravings, I would advise caution. Based on this experience, it seems there are far better, and perhaps safer, options available elsewhere. It's a shame to leave such a review, but I hope it serves as a constructive signal to PHOLOSOPHY to step up their game, and a heads-up to potential customers to look around before placing their order here. read more

Another honor to dine with them again. The summer roll was great, the bahn mi was perfect, and pho was as always incredible. So glad that I have this gem in my town. Thanks! read more

Was very impressed with this place on a quick initial take out visit. Interior is clean and modern looking. Host at desk was friendly and prices were very reasonable. Only tried a few items from the menu but all were very good. I look forward to returning and trying the pho. Bottom line: Definitely plan on return visit(s) and easily thus far, best place in Narberth I've eaten. read more

Coming from an actual Vietnamese person, I was quite impress with the food. Normally good authentic viet food comes out of south Philly. So I was already skeptical about this location. But after trying their rice platter, vermicelli platter, and pho I would say they are on par with some of the south Philadelphia Vietnamese restaurants. I got my order to go and will definitely be ordering more in the future. What's great about it is the location, I don't have to drive to south philly anymore for decent Vietnamese food! Hooray!! read more

This place is at a prime location and very close to the Narberth train station. I really enjoyed their vegetarian pho but the second time I got a tofu banh-mi to go from there and it was less than ideal. There was no sauce element to it and the tofu was dry and greasy. Maybe they had an off day but the banh-mi was very dry and needs some work. Hope they make it better. But like I said, the pho was really good. read more

Just ok. Some good some bad. Good: Nice hostess and staff. Clean and well renovated interior. If anything maybe a little too modern and sterile so it lacked a little homeyness but i can't fault that. Got special pho, pork summer rolls, and tamarind wings. Good: Pho broth was decent. Maybe a little light on star anise and spices but well developed. Good: Rare beef and fatty beef were good...standard thin sliced meats and well portioned. Tendon was very good. Had just the right softness and no crunch but held together. Good quantity of rice noodles and not over cooked. Good amount of Thai basil and sprouts and jalapeño. Bad: tripe in pho was not well enough soaked and cleaned so it retained too much barnyard flavor. Good: summer rolls had a good amount of herbs and peanut sauce was nicely made. Bad: the tamarind wings...inedible...one bite and the taste and smell of turned/old chicken permeated my sinuses. Wife concurred. Immediately told the server and he took them back to the kitchen. Came out and told us that the flavor was just to their taste and how they should be but that they would remove the cost from our bill. Now, my wife works in the restaurant business and is from Southeast Asia, and i am extremely familiar with food and Vietnamese cuisine...use tamarind regularly in my kitchen, and we both know turned chicken when we smell/taste it. Disappointed that the chef couldn't tell or wouldn't admit. Bad: table had sriracha, hoisin, and sambal, but no chili oil. When we requested chili oil, we were informed that Vietnamese food shouldn't be served with chili oil and that it is a Cantonese condiment. Come on. I have been to the region numerous times, and had hundreds of Vietnamese meals and that's hogwash. Just say you don't serve it or it's not your personal style...but don't make stuff up and claim it as fact. Overall, average food with some good and some bad. Won't be going back as there are better local options. read more

This new place is good and service is great. The pho is on point with the authentic stuff you get in South Philly. Broth was flavorful and great on a cold day. Glad we have something like this local. Will be back. read more

I have never liked pho, so I was hesitant to try Pholosophy but I am so glad I did. The menu has a lot on it beyond pho. I ordered the fried wontons which were light and crispy. They were stuffed with a large amount of shrimp and cane with a terrific sweet and sour sauce. I followed this with a grilled chicken banh mi sandwich. It cane with perfectly marinated and grilled chicken topped with carrots, cucumbers and other veg. The roll was crispy and delicious. And the portions were perfect. My dining partner had shrimp and pork pho and declared it the best he ever had. I will definitely be back. read more

Well deserved recognition as Philly's best new Vietnamese Restaurant. Pho is flavorful with great rice noddles. Summer roll with shrimp and pork quite nice as an appetizer. Pork chop with broken rice is well marinated with a nice glaze of this sumptuous sauce. Vermicelli noodles with yummy slices of pork is outstanding. Shaken beef is a bit tough to chew, but the yummy taste is satisfying. Friendly staff, modern & squeaky clean establishment. I was hoping for a Durian shake, but not available...flavor is not popular with the Mainliners, yet... read more

If I could give this place a 0, I would. I've tried them before and the food was just solid and nothing to complain about. Decided to give them a try again and I'll definitely never come back. I ordered takeout through Grubhub. Once I got home and opened the container, I was instantly met with this rotten, ammonia smell. After some digging, I found the culprit. The meat within my pho was slimy and rotten. I'm honestly not sure how they themselves could put together the pho and not smell it. That's how bad it smelled. And for them to deny me a refund is even worst. The picture speaks for itself! If you do decide to still follow through to try them and you're getting takeout, CHECK YOUR MEAT! Honestly. I would've been in the hospital with food poisoning, which is the last thing that's needed on top of COVID. read more

I had the deluxe broken rice. It came with shrimp, pork chop, chicken, and rice topped with sunny side up egg. The egg was a little over cooked on the side but the pork chop was really good. I also had the pan fried spring roll appetizer which I did not care for. The spring roll taste a little bland. The service was quick and good. Will definitely go back again. read more

The places is clean and serves good food. Pros: Clean!!! Food flavors are consistent. Professional staff: Waiter is responsive when you can catch his attention. Take out or dine-in options are both great. Cons: Service can be slow even when not busy. Waiter doesn't appear aware of customers. I wish he made more of an effort since most of my visits are during lunch work breaks and I'm always in a time crunch. Sadly, some dishes have a hint of MSG...PLEASE STOP IT! Lol. Your food doesn't need it!!!! And customers are onto it... Some dishes lack flavor... but do not try to use msg to cover this up. I rather eat less than flavorful rather than msg laced dish!! I would recommend it for a place to take friends, coworkers, or even dates. It's a good restaurant for people to introduce Pho to or who can't handle authentic Pho, not one for official pho foodies. read more

I went to eat Pho today and the pho was very good! However the people who work there or the owners whoever they were, were not very nice they seemed a bit prejudice they never ask was i OK but they asked the table next to me with the white people were they OK. They never even offered me a glass of water but offered the white people a glass of water. All i know is the Pho is very good but the service towards black people is very poor and they make you feel it. I wont go back because of that. P.S. i rated a two based on the PHO itself. read more

Good backup to Phoever yours down the street. Pho here was good but fried dumplings were terrible. More like thick fast food chinese style wontons. I would just get Pho from here. read more

I ordered carry out from here. It was fine. The ingredients were fresh but there was no flavor in anything. The summer rolls could have used more basil or herbs - mostly just noodles. And my soup had fresh ingredients but no flavor in broth. Everything seemed very bland - not bursting with flavors like other Pho I've had. Not worth the price. read more

Excellent takeout food. Reasonable prices. Quick service. Have eaten there before. Pleasant atmosphere.

Mango salad is ok but very little protein is added, for a $8.50 you will receive 5 pieces of shrimp that were cut in half (about 3 whole pieces of shrimp). Lots of carrots and little mango. I wont order this dish again at this place. read more

Ordered during the time of COVID, and we got everything in 20 minutes. They clearly had everything ready for the dinner rush and it was smartly done. I said Yum so much during the meal that my husband had to ask me to be quiet. At a time when most people have forgotten how to do things with intelligence this place nailed it. Thank you. read more

I have been here more than once. The reason I keep coming back is due to their service and food. Waiters are very friendly and extremely attentive. The pho here is outstanding. The broth and veggies are delicious. The brisket pho is out of this world. The one thing the restaurant is working on are desserts. Other than that, make sure you come to this restaurant. Did I mention it is a BYOB place?! Enjoy :) read more

The food here is amazing with good prices to top it off. The staff is very nice and the mood is very cozy which makes me come back often

Very solid pho in Narberth. Relatively new and good competition to the also solid Phoever Yours around the corner. Restaurant itself is clean and modern. A good job was done on renovations. Menu is large and diverse though, as the name suggests, they have a large Pho selection. Reasonable prices and large portions. Not the best Pho in Philly, but could be the best on the mainline. Staff is friendly and service is prompt. read more

I ordered take out (#20 pho) after my yoga class and this new Vietnamese restaurant did not disappoint!! First, I LOVE how they separate your soup, noodles, side vegetables (lime, basil, bean sprouts, and jalapeño), and the sauce. It is so clean and easy to put together without being super messy! Food is incredible!! Great service- i called in earlier and picked up after my class and it was just on time ready for me! 10/10 read more

Pholosophy - #20 in take out - Vietnamese Near Me - Narberth, Pennsylvania

Excited about the 4.5 star reviews everyone gave but the dishes tasted flavorless and bland. Sorry this Asian foodie is not impressed.

Pretty decent Vietnamese joint, particularly for being local in Narberth. We ordered takeout this time and have been there to eat inside a few times before the pandemic hit. The staples like the hoagies, pho, and fried rolls are decent. I've also have their short rib platter a few times and thought that it was good, I was interested in trying the Vietnamese style since I'm partial of Asian ribs, particularly Galbi/Korean style, and thought the seasoning was tasty. One thing I would Not recommend is the Beef Cubes, as the version here is not like the more traditional marinade and more like a more generic pepper steak from an American Chinese style restaurant. It was okay but for better Beef Cubes go to Nam Phuong since they have a local spot now in Ardmore. Overall decent quality Vietnamese right at home in Narberth, we'll be back for sure. read more

My husband and I came here on opening night. The wait staff is incredibly friendly and checked in on us frequently. We had the summer rolls and tamarind wings as appetizers. The tamarind wings had such an amazing flavor. Highly recommended. The summer rolls were also delicious. I prefer them a little more tightly wrapped so that they're easier for dipping, but the favor was great. My husband got the pork banh mi. He thought the flavor was on point and everything worked well within the sandwich. Only con he said was that the bread was a little too flaky. I got the build your own pho. LOVE the concept. Broth was delightful. Only con, could have used a couple more noodles. The manager young woman was fantastic. We can't wait until her art events are posted for the restaurant! read more

This is a good place around for pho. I had a vegetarian pho with tofu and enjoyed the clear broth a lot. It is more difficult to cook a tasty vegetable broth than a beef broth, but they did the trick. read more

Love their's raw steak Pho - very satisfying, especially in a cold winter evening. Tried several rice platers, which were good and bah mis', which was OK, not spicy (to my taste). My got to place for the Pho. read more

Granted, I only had one lunch here so far, but it was impressive. The thit nuong (grilled pork) bahn mi was spot on. Light Vietnamese baguette.. Check. Homemade mayo, julienned carrots, daikon, Check. Jalapeños and cilantro, Check. Slightly sweet yet savory seared bits of tender pork. Check, Check. At $7.95, it's a bit pricier than you'll pay in Upper Darby, but then so is the Narberth real estate. Pho was a big bowl that you can customize (so if you are not a fan of tendon or tripe, you can pick your protein.) I went for rare steak (eye round) and fatty brisket (it was.) Which is OK because I'm on a keto diet (YEAH.. I KNOW the bahn-mi is off limits. Sue me. So I only ate a fraction of the noodles (which were perfect.) I've had heartier broth, but it was plenty good, and fiery from the added jalapeños and chili oil, so certainly didn't lack in flavor. I was pretty stuffed from the sammie, so just finished the meat, broth and onions, and to my surprise, lost a pound overnight in spite of the expected baguette penalty. Iced Vietnamese coffee was perfect. Service was extremely attentive, and every effort was made to ensure I wasn't intimidated by the authenticity (I was offered a fork, etc.) My server was also the chef, and he took great pains to correct my awful pronunciations, going as far as to write out the syllables on a napkin to match common English words. I will return to test the theory that bahn-mi baguettes have zero net carbs.. or perhaps see if the broken rice has similar keto-defying properties. Anyway, it's Vietnamese that equals any that you'll find in South or Northeast Philly in the quaint borough of Narberth. Save on gas, and you'll break even. read more

Haven't dined in but have ordered food from this place and it's delicious. Can't wait to try it again.

Best pho in town! Really amazing food. Our favorites other than pho are the grilled sandwiches and meat dishes. It has that chargrilled flavor that we love. Amazing staff too. The wait staff might seem a bit on the quiet side, but he remembers all our preferences, even after a whole year of not dining in due to covid. We have a lot of preferences too, like cooked bean sprouts, hot oil sauce on the side, hot tea, extra napkins and then some more specifics depending on what we order. D is usually our waiter and he gets everything ready for us even before we ask. They have amazing food and stellar service! What more can you ask for in a local restaurant. read more

Great bahn mi and rolls but the way the pho is listed is very confusing. I was told on previous visits that the vegetable soups would come with vegetable broth. Apparently the tofu and vegetable comes with chicken broth and the vegan pho comes with vegetable broth. Very confusing and not well listed on Caviar app but it is listed on the main menu at the restaurant. Still like the place but would advise people to be very precise in ordering online. read more

Very nice shrimp and pork summer rolls and excellent pho. Service was warm, attentive, and efficient. Nice but unpretentious interior.

Came here with a few friends on opening night! I've tried a few pho places in the area, but they just seem to lack that home style I'm use to. I'd say the pho here is very comparable to the ones in South Philly. Definitely my go to spot, instead of driving all the way to Washington St. read more
