I will start by saying this is just a temporary four-star review. The aesthetics of this place have great potential, and the vibe is still low-key and chill. They may be adjusting or sharing space inside but don't be mislead. The vape technician I worked with was able to remove that stubborn vape cartridge with a trick I will not disclose here ;-) He was very friendly and did not pressure me to buy any products, even though I wanted to. Walking in, the shop smelled like a perfect blend of tobacco, fruit and a slight hint of menthol. Nothing too strong or offensive odors. I was so surprised they were able to remove the cartridge with such ease so I'm bringing my two other Vapes that have just been sitting around in for a little tune up. I don't expect to pay too much for this (maybe $$ range). The prices seem reasonable and I wish I had brought in a little more money with me at the time so I could try some of the custom vape blends. I highly recommend checking it out if you're having some issues with a cart, or are in need of a new place for some custom juice. It could be a little difficult to miss if you are walking around the buildings/suites. There's not a prominent sign yet like the neighboring businesses (at least, that what I was looking for). After diligently purchasing from this shop over the past year, my partner purchased a smaller pen with a tank for his mother as a gift. The tank was near impossible to open and shattered on Christmas while trying to open. I went in today to exchange it and they told me they could not guarantee the glass tank and I needed to buy another one. The first employee couldn't open the threading, so he called over another employee who tried over and over before finally getting it unlatched. Refused to be of any help to the situation and googled the tank to tell me where to buy a replacement online. The Vape was never used and broke- horrible service. Will be going elsewhere for juice and parts going forward. Sad to lose a customer over a $30.00 fix but service goes a long way- especially when two employees had a hard time trying to get it open. Update after Catherine's response. Hi Catherine - Yes he offered to sell me another tank right off the bat- claiming you do not stock parts for the unit that was sold. First of all there was zero training on the device when it was purchased- watch the cameras if you would like. Second of all I 100% admitted when I walked in that we put juice in the tank to prime the wick and stated that you can tell by looking at the wick that it wasn't used but the Initial heat up. I mentioned how we spent a good portion of our evening watching YouTube videos Christmas Day trying to figure it out. Regardless of how it broke , or if there was a true defect- your shop is willing to lose a customer over not replacing a broken unit. If you review your security camera footage, you can see both employees struggling to get the tank open as well as the other customers in the store commenting how hard it is screwed on. Solid vapor shop. Good flavors and standard prices. It seems like a place that's more into letting you mix your own juices, which is cool, but I just needed to pick up a bottle of juice; I treat it like cigarettes, grab it and go. Plus I was on my lunch break. The dude at the counter, I believe his name was Caden, suggested 1-Up and Dragon Fruit, which were both really good. I eventually ended up getting the 1-Up, which is like a pineapple and cream combination. Hits very well, some of the best flavor I've tasted of any house juice. $14.95 for a 30ml bottle. When I first got the juice, it tasted great, but lately I've noticed it has some weird after taste. Like almost a chemical after taste. I haven't noticed anything off with my mind or body, but I don't think I'll be getting the juice from there again. At the time I went in, it was frequented by some semi-obnoxious vape jockies loudly discussing the merits of their 0.2 ohm builds or whatever. Don't know if that's their usual clientele, but anyway. This place is amazing. Their selection of vaping gear is great and they have hundreds of e-juice flavors to choose from. However, the real kicker is their customer service. I had never vaped before I went in there and they answered all my questions in great detail. I was probably in there for an hour trying out different flavors and I never felt any pressure from the staff to just go ahead and pick something so I could get out of their hair. I decided to look into vaping because I was about to move somewhere that smoking would be a lot more expensive and difficult. Once I started vaping, I have never gone back to smoking and actually prefer the e-cig to an analog cigarette. I've only been in this place for about five minutes but I love it already. Christmas Eve I was looking for one of the new Aspire tanks and everywhere I went had either never heard of them or had already sold out, so I found this place on Google Maps and decided to check it out. I pulled up around 630P and saw they had been closed almost two hours but as I was walking away from the door they unlocked and asked what I was looking for. Turns out they had them and sold me one two hours after they had closed, and on top of all that the only bills I had were $100s (I know bad move on my part) and she managed to make change for it. Great customer service. I bought a cuboid mini starter kit (6/2016) in gold, very cute & compact--just what I wanted. Unfortunately it didn't work day 1, it melted 2 tips off, leaked like crazy & shot hot juice in your mouth every time. It was useless. But I had dropped it & smashed the glass display a bit (sorta like an iPhone screen) so I was reluctant to return it knowing they would blame it's problems on my clumsiness. I knew it was bunk before I dropped it & needed to vape so I reluctantly brought it back to Tim-the manager. He messed with it, changed tanks, changed coils...finally he agrees that it's no good and replaced it with a brand new kit, even exchange. About a week later, same issues and by the time I made it to the shop I hadn't been able to vape for like 4 days; was pretty aggravated. Tim traded it for the eVic-VTC Mini in gold. He had me in & out in 15 min. I'm so grateful for Tim and his amazing customer service and knowledge. He made the entire transaction easy, kept his cool and was kind throughout the entire month long situation. I'd rate this shop as BADASS. This is my first time buying a vape so I can't really compare prices or brands. I CAN, however, tell you that the service and quality here is top notch. My man James helped me choose the different kits, flavors, and price ranges to find the right match for me. The one guy pretty much helped me out the entire time I was there (about an hour and 15 min). Because this place is pretty personalized, I recommend you go in early and dont wait last minute (like 30 minutes before closing). There were only two people working there helping people buy kits, try new flavors, etc. There was about 6 customers other than me and, like I said, one guy was helping me the whole time. I bought a joytech kit with an atomizer, the battery, the chargers, and a liquid. I bought another flavor on the side as well. All this came out to be around $70 so not a bad deal (NOTE: they do provide military discount) This is a new business so I can understand the busyness but these people are really chill and help you out as much as possible. I am new to the Austin area and was looking for a new vape spot. I have had some great shops where I came from before both in San Marcos and in Dallas, but just based off of my 1st experience with Phoenix Vapor Shop here in Austin, I think I have found a new spot. I came in during what seemed like peak hours and while the staff was extremely busy, I never felt like I was forgotten or just another face in the crowd. I was requested to come back and they fix the issue and apologized for what happened. I thank them for handling it well. However went back another another time after that, and the guy I had an issue with argued about giving me my birthday reward after I explained he had it wrong. Went in with very specific needs in a juice, and was directed to their house flavors, of which I tried a few. I started vaping a little over 8 months ago and have been completely cigarette free after 18 years of smoking. I frequent several shops in town, and Phoenix is one of the best! As the market gets more and more saturated, I expect that those who are in it to make a quick buck will be weeded out, and things like quality products and excellent customer service will be even more important. The whole staff at Phoenix is excellent. I've dealt with everyone there at one time or another, and have had nothing but the best service. They keep up very well with new products in a very fast changing industry, but have the basics well covered if you are just starting out and want to keep it simple. I usually don't give a review, unless I give it a few tries. This store is not only chill and laid back, but they have everything that you would ever need to vape. I have gone through three different units, slowly graduating myself up to a custom tank, etc. And everything that I have purchased has been awesome. They were really nice here. Much nicer experience than the first shop I went to. I felt totally comfortable asking noob questions and they explained everything. They described their flavors really well as well. Seemed to have a large selection of flavors and equipment. I will go back here in the future. Only room for improvement is that the website is totally not user friendly. The products layout is hard to navigate and you can't see the liquid descriptions without clicking on each one. I've tried to quit smoking so many times and in so many ways that I lost count. A friend had successfully quit for almost a year and recommended that I go to Phoenix Vapor and give vaporizing a shot. I went thinking that there was little chance it would be any different than the many other times I've tried e-cigs and nicotine replacements (gum, patches, etc.) To my surprise, I've now been smoke free for three months, am no longer craving cigarettes, and I'm so happy that I found this place! These guys are vapor enthusiasts, which I didn't know was a thing until I went into the shop! Their friendly, helpful attitudes have been SO appreciated during my trials and errors as a beginner vaper. They patiently help you find a flavor that you like and tailor your nicotine level based on the amount that you have been smoking. When I have broken my equipment, I've brought it into the shop and the guys are often able to repair it (or identify whatever I've done wrong) and have me on my way with a functional device. They never try to up-sell you or tell you to get things that you don't need. They are all about quality, not quantity. My personal advice if you are trying to quit and leave behind a love affair with cigarettes: Don't be intimidated by the larger vaporizers. When I saw all of the vaporizers and gadgets the first time I walked in I thought, 'I want the daintiest, least noticeable device.' And that is what I got. I believe I started with the slim, round Ego with an adjustable watt twisty thing at the bottom (very technical terms :) Since then I have moved on to the itazte MVP with an aspire Nautilus 5 ml tank... a pretty hardcore looking beast of a vaporizer. I realized that I cared less about the looks of it the more I was getting the amount of nicotine that I needed to compete with cigarettes. I now have a love affair with my goofy looking vaporizer and don't care at all about the looks because I enjoy smoking it. My take is that your vaporizer needs to be more satisfying than a cigarette when you're craving nicotine or you may be quick to return to the old ways. Stumbled upon Phoenix Vapor Shop a couple of weeks ago. So glad I saw it. I quit smoking but my son was still smoking and my housemate was smoking those e cigs you get at the grocery store and she was quite frustrated with them. The charge didn't last long and the flavor was meh. This place has the best customer service around. I walked in not even knowing exactly what this place was. My son and I looked at the different set-ups for vaping that they have. He was unsure if he wanted to stop smoking and start vaping. He had just smoked the last cigarette of the pack when we walked in. Well, Catherine (the owner) took us under her wing and showed us what vaping was all about. They have hundreds of flavors of the "juice" that goes into the vape machine and we could have tried every one because Catherine was that patient with us. We never felt pressured or rushed. After trying the flavors my son decided he did like this and we bought a kit (which is a reasonable price) He hasn't picked up a real cigarette since. All his friends that still smoke are trying his and loving it. I expect they will soon start vaping instead of smoking. Now my housemate has been in, bought a kit, and is so much happier and satisfied. She was actually contemplating going back to real cigarettes because the grocery store e cigs weren't working for her. If you have quit smoking (or thinking of it) and are having a hard time, try vaping. And don't waste your time with those Blu e cigs or the like. If you really want to quit smoking but want the sensation and the nicotine those won't satisfy you but the equipment and flavors at Phoenix Vapor Shop WILL. It's also much cheaper in the long run that the grocery store e cigs. read more

These guys know their vapor. I've been a long time AAV customer, but I have to say that I think I'll be regularly patronizing Phoenix. Their juice is better quality, and better flavor (at least for the flavors I like). They've got a better hardware selection, and frankly better customer service. AAV used to be more personable when they first started too though. So, make sure you guys don't forget! They also have a better location for me.
