I went back to the Phoenix nail salon on January 9th and said I had my nails done a week ago and 4 nails broke! I girl said she would fix. After repairing the 4 nails and re gel polishing them she charged me 15$!!! I thought that was ridiculous! I explained that they had only been done maybe a week ago and not just 1 broke but 4 did!! They called the owner of Phoenix nails and she said to me that because it was a week Ago that she couldn't do anything! I said if I was made to pay the 15$ that I wouldn't be back, she said that was fine. She didn't even care. I have been going there since they opened the original Evanston nails and loved the work that was done on my nails, until the new owners took over. I have not been pleased, but hoped that things would get better.... Well I was wrong. After I had those 4 nails repaired I had 2 more break.... I strongly urge people not to go here at all there is no responsibility when they do a bad job, all they care about is your money. Ps I will keep posting...

When those days roll around, Frilly Lilly is THE spot to satisfy any of your princess needs. Having gone to a YELP event at the 4th Street FL location, I had an idea what to expect at this NW location and I was so excited to visit. FL Symons Valley didn't disappoint. It l had the same rustic antique white decor dressed in pretty pink accents and bejeweled with unique, hand selected jewelry. But what set it apart from the 4th Street FL was the massive space of this location! Once you walked past the cozy entry way and wax rooms, the spa opens up into a large open space with high ceilings. I was the only guest on a Monday morning and more than relished the quiet, comfortable open space but even during busy evenings, the space was so large many people could be in and still be comfortable. Can you imagine the possibilities for Bachelorette parties and girls nights in here?! Beyond the space, the service was absolutely fantastic. The name of my manicurist escapes me now, but she is the trainer and made my entire experience perfect from start to finish. I was served tea right as I sat down and she did a fantastic job with my nails. FL is definitely a go to for nails in my neighborhood. The prices are higher than some of those cheap asian places, but being pampered for an hour with skilled and trained techs who know their stuff is worth the additional $15- $20 in my mind. At least here, I won't have to spend more afterwards dealing with damaged nails!

I was a bit worried going here since the average rating was low but realized it's just because…read morethere aren't many reviews so it's a bit skewed. I risked it for a walk in appointment on a weekday around 3pm and it wasn't super busy. There were about 3 other clients there, 2 of whom just wrapped up. They seem to have a few technicians on site though as I didn't have to wait and a tech came out of the back to do my nails. I only did a shellac removal and polish change so I can't comment on a full manicure. It was alright, they used the electric file set to file off the polish which is not my favourite but it was super gentle in comparison to some other places I've been. My few complaints are that instead of wrapping each finger with a cotton pad soaked in acetone and wrapping it in foil, they just make you soak your fingers in a bowl of acetone. This is SO weird and feels so bad for my fingers... the other complaint is that I didn't notice them taking their tools out of newly packaged kits. This might be different since I was just doing a polish change? But could be off putting for those who are more picky about cleanliness. They have an okay selection of polish colours but I found most of them were sparkly/special ones. It was hard to find a good selection of nudes/pinks/neutrals or also plain, non-sparkle dark colours. I had already preshaped my own nails so I didn't expect them to do much in terms of filing snd shaping my nails. Polish application was smooth, no bubbles or missed spots, and they capped the nails well on each layer which some places skip out on. I liked that they have their lamps built into the table - so smart and convenient! I noticed the comment below about the techs talking to each other a lot - this is definitely true but I don't mind. They're not amazing at service (ie. at the end while waiting for the nails to dry, they sort of just leave you at the table and go sit around at the back) but what can I expect for the price I paid! Overall, I paid $21 before tip for a shellac polish removal and polish change. I'll try and update this later to note how long the manicure lasts!

There were 2 ocassions where I they pushed/cleaned my cuticle was too much and it started bleeding. It wasn't too bad and person working on my nails sincerely apologized - so I'm totally fine with it. And to be honest my skin and nails are kind of fragile and thin so I can see it happening if you go too far with the cuticle push/clipping(sorry for the wrong nail jargon as my knowledge with nail stuff is quite limited). I give them 5 stars because I really enjoy going there to get my nails done. Mint's location is far from where I live ( the SE), but I will take time out of my day to drive there because their service is superb. In addition to their awesome service the atmosphere in mint is modern, clean, and friendly. So I definitely recommend Mint for a relaxing nail spa day! :)

There is no open sign and the business looks entirely abandoned. I was not greeted or given instruction. As soon as I sat down I noticed broken massage chairs, cracked leather, and hair. Caked on the floor, dust was stuck on the floors and behind the backs of the chairs. I really don't like being such a harsh critique but I have worked in salons for years and I have never ever seen a nail salon this dirty. After the girl did not wash her hands and began to put a super dirty lotion bottle on my toes I declined service and left. I would strongly suggest you stay away from this place....

You will not get a wide smile upon walking in, you will not be offered water or tea, the staff will not engage conversation with you. They will talk to their co-workers loudly in another language, you will always wonder how clean the tools are and the massage chairs are not the best. The decor is not attractive and the person who looks like the manager/owner will make very annoying loud noises giving stink eye to everyone while cracking, eating and spitting her sunflowers seeds with no regard for anyone in the salon. She also has a bit of attitude! When my pedi was done she came over and RIPPED my toe separators from my feet. WTH... no words... But, it is inexpensive. This is my 3rd visit here as it is super close to my home and I had not been for some time until today. My first visit over a year ago was OK, on my second visit, the woman slipped with the cuticle cutter and cut me pretty bad on a very sensitive area of my big toe. Then doused it with devil-seeing alcohol, never asking me once if I was OK as I almost went into shock from pain! (took months to heal, it was deep!) Accidents happen though and I came back today to face my fears and all went alright - no injuries to report. The woman seemingly tried to hide my brand new polish I bought at a different salon though - she KNEW I brought it in with me and when done with it, pushed it into a closed drawer! Good thing I was onto her! I am not sure if I will come back... (Nah, I won`t be) There are just so many salons in the NW to consider even if I have to drive a wee bit further to get to them.

I would give this salon less than 1 star if that was an option…read more I initially went here about a year ago as a close-to-home and cost-effective option for a fill on a set of gel nails. First three experiences - not so bad. However, the last 3 times I have gone (because apparently I am a sucker for punishment) I have left the business I have been baffled by how a business can survive by a shared hatred amongst employees for customers, quality service or general manners. First problem - was going on a work trip with some important meetings. Got a shellac manicure, requested a light pale blue grey nail color. Mixed the wrong shades together - ended up with a flaming teal green. Ended up paying twice as much to go back the following day and get it removed so that I did not look like a 12-year old when meeting new business contacts. Second problem - same thing. Made the unfortunate mistake of picking a light pink shade, ended up with a neon orange. They should not offer the color swatch if they have no clue what to do with it. I work in a professional environment and I look like a halloween character every time I leave the store. Third time- went to get a shellac manicure before vacation. Since I am splurging on a decadent luxurious pedi at Eveline Charles (get all my pedis there), I decided to try and be frugal on the mani because *sometimes* they do an okay job at Envy. Well I ended up with one nail that somehow looks like it has tire tracks through it. Did not have time to stay yesterday and get it fixed, so returned today. I got an eye roll and a smug smirk and a "We're too busy to fix it right now." When I asked if I could return at the end of the work day I got "we are very busy at 4:30." Needless to say I will go camp out in that terrible hole until I get it fixed. What really infuriated me yesterday was a fellow customer had received some kind of gel/UV set nails and a pedicure. I did not overhear her conversation while paying except that she said "no, it's probably not fixable." Sounds like she too was not very happy with her gel/shellac slap job. While the lady was still at the counter, the entire staff began yelling in a foreign language to each other. How rude is that? And how embarrassing for the customer. You should not be made to feel like an idiot because you received a bad service. After they fix their shoddy job today I vow that I will never return. This place is not worth a $2 polish job, please save your money and your dignity!
