Everyone was dancing and the vibes were definitely different! But last year they moved to a bigger outdoor site and it was very disappointing. Even tho they have more activities, more people, but it was very slow and people seemed to be less energetic or engaged. I hope you guys can host it again! read more

I was thrilled to hear that this new location opened as I work in the area. I was crushed by the closing of both Jägerhaus (my favorite German restaurant of all time) and the older Phoenix Club shut down, and I needed a German food fix. My husband and I wanted to try a little bit of everything. We shared a pretzel with cheese sauce and potato pancakes as an appetizer. I ordered the Jägerschnitzel with spätzle and vegetables for my main course, and he had the sausage plate with fries. Of course I also had to have a half liter of their Hefeweizen. Everything was fantastic! Ambience was not anything special--just basically one big square room with a bar at the back--but the food and the service made up for it. Some of the best European food I had since I am living in the states (2.5 years as of the day I'm writing this review). Finally a decent place to have a steak tartare (raw beef) with no egg (meaning that they prepare the tartare fresh for each order instead of preparing a larger batch for the day - unlike many other restaurants) that was properly seasoned and well presented. I didn't feel like fries so I got steamed fresh veggies at no replacement cost. Everything was fresh and nicely prepared. I'll definitely go back there again next year when I'll be in Anaheim. Had a bunch of apps and mains: curry sausages (small bowl) w fries. german pretzel + beer cheese dip. latkes with apple sauce. smoked pork chop, sauer-beef-roast and chicken schnitzl. spetzel, sauerkraut, red cabbage, etc. The bread rolls and raisin bread were so awesome, crusty on the outside soft, warm and wonderful w butter. The chicken schnitzl dinner was a great value, comes with two sides. They let you substitue swap sides. This dinner combo leaned on generous. TWO THUMBS UP. They had the best spetzl I have tasted outside of Germany. Some of their apps weren't the best value. The latkes had 3 smallish rounds + apple sauce for $7. The pretzel was $4 (it wasn't that warm) + cheese beer dip (not that great) $2. The red cabbage was a little off putting, too much cinnamon and other weird unexpected spices. Great food and service! Have been waiting for this place to open and it did not disappoint! My husband and I went for dinner and had a currywurst and wienerschnitzel with German potato salad and a couple of Veltins pints. We celebrated my wife's birthday when they had the accordion night. After Covid reopening, there were many people so happy to once again enjoy this popular monthly event. The food was excellent as well as the service. We had 14 people in our party and everyone was amazed how much fun this event is. The musicians I believe are all volunteer performers each taking their turn, or sometimes playing together. Altogether a great atmosphere. I'm looking forward to next months session. read more

We're happy Phoenix club has finally reopened. We do miss the vibe of the old place. The new restaurant is so loud that we couldn't even really talk to each other. We hope maybe they will put in some sound dampening in the future to help with this. The food was still great although we were a little disappointed that the original veggie burger seems to have been replaced by a beyond or impossible burger. We loved whatever they used to use. Also the pretzel was smaller and the cheese sauce seemed different. We loved the original beer cheese sauce they had. The kostrizter beer is still great. read more

Diana and I stopped to eat at the Phoenix Club in Anaheim, ca Jocelyn our server was nice and friendly and she was happy I brought Diana with me as I said I would. Since Diana is part German, I felt like I belonged there. For appetizer: mixed warm bread basket & butter. it was soft, fresh, and tasty. I ordered the Special of the day: The Surf Turf; medium cooked steak with shrimp; side of, fried potatoes, and cooked mixed vegetables. The steak was cooked as ordered it was tender and very tasty. A good combination of flavors. I drank a cold glass of beer to balance my meal. Diana had: The Ruben Sandwich: corn beef, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese with a side of German potatoe salad. it was very tasty. Diana also drank a cold beer with her meal. For dessert I had: German Apple Strudel Pie, a la mode. apples, cinnamon & sugar on pastry with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. it was super duperly delicious. Diana had: The Black Forest Cake: chocolate, chocolate mousse, cherries, on chocolate cake. It was soft, light, and delicious. I thanked management for letting me take photos. The Phoenix Club is where it's at for Oktoberfest or if Germany are playing a big World Cup or Euro match. Oktoberfest here is great for all ages and isn't the sloppy, drunken, sh*t show you might find elsewhere. That's not to say that people don't imbibe a lot and should all be taking Uber/Lyft home but the patrons have fun while staying in control. It's the kind of place where you dance a bit, listen to the music, go to the shooting gallery, eat way too many latkes, and wake up with a little headache the next morning but nothing too regrettable. Good, old fashioned fun. Pro tip: Save yourself a few bucks before heading into Oktoberfest by going into the Bierstube for Happy Hour - $18 pitchers and good eats including the very shareable sampler platter. read more

Went here with friends for an Easter Brunch Buffetfrom LA and it was worth the trip. They served German cuisine faves like rindsrouladen and spaetzle. Just the steak alone was worth the trips to the buffet line. It was generally a family affair. Service was good, place and restrooms are clean. This place is nuts on Oktoberfest. I'll have to come back and see what its like on a normal given day. Potato pancakes: deliciously oily, salty and perfectly crunchy. Brawt was good to tide me between beer lines; which move pretty quickly. Those pre-paid food/drink tickets are a great idea! I was tempted to get the funnel cake because it seemed out of place. My friend said, "funnel cake is only here because you f'ing Americans like it so much!" I was amused since I'm Chinese, he's Italian...and we're both bloody Americans. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! My 2nd time dining here for a 400 person band banquet for my guard girl's HS. The food is delicious. Anyone who can cook well for such a large crowd is good with me!!!! It was my second time there, the first to say I am an authentic German, and the people have no idea of German culture or food. I went with my dog in, and he is a certified service dog. First Lady was friendly and helpful, and the other Lady asked me the service dog questions about what my dog performed. I think not enough; she asked me to put the dog's bed out. Great Ruben sandwich and beer batter onion rings. The fried potatoes were good too, basically everything I ordered, I liked. Plus 1 Star. So, why 3 star from and Elite who loves to give 5 stars? This is what happened: I was reserving a table for 8-12 people. You know how Group things go, people add on or drop out at the last minute. We needed at least some booth seats, as some of us are wide hipped. The lady on the phone who returned my call was very nice, taking care to tell me about the 1/2 booth-1/2 table seating to the left of the entrance that would be perfect. Plus 1 Star. The parking lot was ridiculous. A bunch of the lanes were blocked off, the the parking for the restaurant were blocked by heavy orange cones. There was no one to move them when we couldn't find Spaces. Minus 1 Star Even though there were reserved signs at the table, people sat there anyway, and when some members of our group came and said those are our tables, the other people were forced to move. The waitress was outright unfriendly. When asked to do separate checks, she stated she wasn't allowed, but relented under our blank look. When I told her I would be fine with combining checks and figuring it out later, she was defensive about doing it. Minus 1 Star. She took our orders and brought our drinks and food, checked on us a few times and then disappeared for a long time. She never asked about dessert. I asked for the bill and she brought them all, but didn't have her glasses, so I had to read them out. She gave us boxes. When I left my purse behind, she came all the way out to the parking area to bring it to me. Plus 2 stars. Which is why it gets 3 stars. That and the fact that my wife couldn't eat her jagerschnitzel. Our friend ate all of his and most of hers. She usually eats every bit of veggies on her plate. She barely touched these. She didn't care for the spaetzle. I found it gummy and tasteless. The pork was smothered with a thick gravy with mushrooms. It looked pretty gross. My husband and I, along with friends, have been going to the Phoenix Club for Oktoberfest on and off for the past 15 years. We're sad they're moving, but were happy to hear this would be their final year at the Anaheim location. We were fortunate to be there this past weekend for the final Oktoberfest weekend at their current location in Anaheim. We have to say we feel like this was their best year ever. It was a smaller, more intimate experience. We loved the band, watching the German dancers, and the food and beverages were all terrific. And finally a big shout out to the entire Phoenix Club staff. I expected Oktoberfest at the Phoenix club to be like the Huntington Beach one, but this one is actually better. Larger venue, cleaner, better security, the garden is nice and clean and spacious, the music tent is great and they have authentic German beers. The effort to have authentic foods and drinks, clothing and music make for a way better experience. read more

Went there recently and I must say I was super impressed with the quality of food and service. I had their bratwurst, bangers and mash style, with mashed potatoes. Also when you go you must save room for their strudel. It is made daily and baked fresh... as is pretty much everything there, fresh ingredients and the meals are prepared like you would at home. read more

Pluses - Seating available still on a Saturday night - Good band - Crowd was mixed but having a good time and you didn't feel like you had to watch your back like at Alpine Village - Only $5 cover - Good bratwurst - Beer lines were pretty quick - Has a playground behind the tent for families if you wanted to bring the kids along. Bad -To add kraut to your brat was an extra $5 (they consider it a side) -Have to plan out your food and beer consumption ahead time as sales are coupon based. You could keep getting back in line and keep getting more coupons ($5.00/ea.) or you can buy all-at-once. I bought ahead and ended up walking away at the end of the night with $20 bucks in coupons (they know how to bring you back :0) Highly recommend Phoenix Club Oktoberfest for a good time. read more

Came here with some friends for Oktoberfest. They had plenty of cocktail/beer stations and tents, so you never had to wait too long in line-- huge bonus points there! The food lines weren't too bad if you went early. My wife had the bratwurst with sauerkraut, the brat was slightly disappointing--pretty bland honestly. I had the fried chicken cutlet (aka schnitzel) with fries, and I enjoyed it though the chicken did dry out slightly. All in all, a chill experience for an Oktoberfest weekend night! read more
