If you are reading this, I'm guessing you are looking for a more holistic dentist like I was when I discovered Dr. Hamdan. A few months ago, I was told that I needed to have a tooth extracted. I am a holistic practitioner myself, so I went to four different dentists before I found Dr. Hamdan. Finding her office was such a breath of fresh air for me. There are very few dentists with her philosophy and level of expertise. First of all, Abdul took the time to educate me over the phone about their office and what they do. If you are curious, call and talk to him. He is great. I set up my initial consult and Dr. Hamdan and her staff were very easy going and thorough. I felt very comfortable about the process, so I set up my appointment for the extraction and implant. Without going in to every detail, I will say that my appointment went very well, and I felt in such calm, capable hands. Now I am in the process of healing, and I am so excited that a place like this exists. read more

Good people and good results, I was told 2 have a root canal by 2 other dentists, we tried a Biological dentist and she said not to pull it or do a root canal but hang in there a little longer, and sure enough its all healed when everyone else was ready to hack away. Shes amazing and also the staff and abdul are good too! read more

Phoned the office regarding an implant and sedation and was told they do sedation. Drove an hour for a consult and then they tell me they don't do sedation and gave me a referral to someone else. I tried calling them to talk to them about it and they would not take my calls. Naturally they did not refund my consult fee. This office has problems and I'm thankful I did not let them work on my teeth! read more

Dr. Hamdan is inept and unethical, and her receptionist Abdul is somehow even worse. He will yell at you and bully you over the phone for the smallest reasons. Not sure what he's so angry for, but maybe he should take his anger to a different job. The dentist is awful and uneducated, and the entire experience becomes awful after a few visits. read more

I called to get information about the holistic dentist office. Right when I called a guy (receptionist) answers and said Phoenix biological Dentistry. I said hi I didn't catch your first name. He said, are you a solicitor, I said I'm sorry? I said, what is your first name please. He said have a good day miss. First and foremost, I am a customer service manager, Director of operations and I have been in customer service for over 17 years. I am big on names and calling someone by their name. I even read the name tags at the grocery store. (More personable) So when I simply asked a simple question what his name was, I wanted to make sure that I was able to address him properly. The fact that he did not want to give his name and was very rude. I will absolutely be not coming to this office. read more

I have been there twice, and think very highly of the staff and the service provided by Dr. Hamdan and all the staff. Each person I come in contact with is patient and kind and will listen to my needs and concerns involving my dental care. I have never had a negative issue with the staff. The scheduler is consistent with sending confirmation messages and helping me work with my insurance company too. This is the best place to go for dental work if you are desiring excellent dental care and work, and if you are respectful of your time as well as other people's time. read more

I have been going to this clinic for years and have nothing but great things to say. Dr. Hamdan has been an excellent dentist and I've been met with both but kind words and exceptional care from all members of the Phoenix Biological Dentistry staff. I drive pretty far just to go to this clinic and wouldn't change that for anything. To read some of the negative reviews is actually shocking, I have never had a bad experience here. read more

I had to reschedule due to my sick child who had cancer, and they were rude and heartless about rescheduling me. They are not a kindhearted practice and clearly don't truly care about their patients. Shame on them! read more

Dr. Hamdan is a wonderful dentist that I have enjoyed seeing for several years now. She is incredibly knowledgeable beyond her years, and is so humble and compassionate. I have referred several of my friends and family to her and they all echo the same sentiment. read more

I have been a patient of Dr Hamdan for several years and have had fillings replacement as well as a crown and many exams and cleanings. I do recommend this business both because of the professionalism, including the practice of informed consent and informed decisions, as well as the easy and natural awareness of my discomfort and pain by Dr Hamdan. Thank you to all the kind staff for your practice of caring, David read more

Well I guess 2.4 stars says it all. I wrote a review on Google but decided to write one on Yelp as well. I called this office to make an appointment and Abdul answered the phone (I just found out he's the doctors husband) It all makes sense now. He is the most unprofessional man I've dealt with in a long time. Usually its teens that act like this but not in this case. I called to make an appointment and he wouldn't answer any of my questions and suggested I find a doctor closer to my home and hung up on me. I called back and left a message (because he doesn't answer the phone, which is pretty shady in itself) that I did want to make an appointment but, to have someone else call me because Abdul was extremely rude. Spoiler alert, no one has called me back. I'm not sure why anyone would have their angry husband answering their phones for them but, it isn't working. read more

I have been a patient of Dr Hamdans since she opened her office. She is a knowledgeable, trustworthy, and caring dentist. She takes the time to go over my treatment with me, and always puts my worries at ease. I never had a dentist like her and will never trust anyone with my dental care, like i trust her. Abdul does a great job of informing me of my options, and responding to my calls and concerns. Since I've started, several of my family members have made the switch, and they all love her. read more

I have never trusted a dentist the way I trust Dr. Hamdan. From the first visit she took time to talk with me, answer all my questions with care and not rush off to the next patient. She gave me a list of recommended supplements to help support my body to heal and thoroughly understands the importance of health as a whole through nutrition and supplements. To read some of these reviews is actually very shocking because my experience with her and Abdul is vastly different. I have referred several people to her and they too absolutely love her. She has never recommended anything that wasn't necessary and just the opposite with working out a schedule of priority by doing the procedures over time. I will never trust my teeth with anyone else, ever. read more

Whoever does the scheduling and communicating is incredibly rude and dismissive. I had a few questions about my routine cleaning prior to my appointment and was told I should find a different dentist if a two hour cleaning isn't quick enough for me. I was just curious as to what a biological cleaning entailed since I have never had one. They wouldn't explain it to me and said they were cancelling my appointment and I could go find someone else. Seriously?! How unprofessional and rude. I was simply asking questions about my appointment and I get shut down and told my appointment is cancelled. The Dr may be good but whoever handles her scheduling is so terrible and rude and had the nerve to say I was being too aggressive by asking simple questions about my appointment that they refused to answer. I'm literally shocked by the unprofessionalism. **edited to add I just found out they sent emails to everyone I referred here, telling them they were no longer welcome at this practice. I'm speechless! Talk about petty unprofessionalism. There's a few other great biological dentists in the area I encourage you to check out if you want to avoid any drama at this practice. read more

I called to ask questions and the receptionist was extremely rude and unprofessional. I was nothing but polite with my questioning about possible dentures. He cut me off and told me to go elsewhere. When I called back to ask to speak to the dentist, he flat out said no and to "move on" -- with a very condescending tone. I was disappointed as I have read excellent feedback about biological dentistry and wanted to explore this avenue. I'm grateful now that I avoided this dentistry office. The receptionist should represent the professionalism of the office; in this case the condescension and belittling attitude was completely uncalled for. Also, their site mentions offering both partial dentures and denture options, (see attached photo) but he told me it was best to go elsewhere as there were many offices that do that. Do they turn certain people away for some reason?? I believe the receptionist answering the phone had to be a relative because I cannot imagine an employee speaking that way to a potential customer and still be able to be employed there. read more

Phoenix Biological Dentistry - This is included in "Services" on their website. - Oral Surgeons Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

I have always trusted the advice given by past dentists. Have need many procedures including crowns ,bridges, fillings, etc. I was advised by Dr. Hamdan to schedule a procedure which ran $3000. I went ahead and completed that procedure. When I returned next visit I was advised to schedule in another procedure which ran about the same amt. I then decided to go to Tijuana Mexico to schedule procedure where pricing is more affordable and this Dentist came highly recommended. This dentist in Tijuana then told me this procedure was NOT NEEDED . So I had to question the first procedure as well. Beware! read more

I went to this office with a lot of anxiety and nervousness due to my previous traumatic dental experiences. Abdul was so helpful in answering all my questions. Dr Hamdan was kind and knowledgeable. I rarely write reviews, but I feel that it's very necessary this time to protect those considering a visit to see Maryam and her receptionist husband, Abdul. They are without a doubt scam artists! They can be very charming, and the act of professionalism has been fine tuned. But, once you get in that chair, it will become an unexpected nightmare! Perfectly good teeth will be crowned or extracted. Their money maker is crowns. After several months, she will discover cavities (that's plural) that she says she didn't see in the previous x-rays. Crown will need to be replaced. Come in again in say four to six months, and she will find more teeth with cavities. She will claim not to have seen them in previous x-rays and that they will also need to be crowned or replaced. My previous dentist always took cultures every four months. This couple never heard of cultures. I have always taken extremely good care of my teeth. To have a cavity was unheard of. This office needs to be closed, licensed revoked never to practice on anyone again! I would report them to the Arizona State Board of Dental Examiners, but I fear this couple! I see that she was reported on June 23, 2023. Just beware! If it seems uncomfortably wrong, leave! I didn't listen to my gut feelings as I wanted to trust them. Now I have dental problems that never existed before Maryam. This has been eating at me for a while. I had to say something. Just beware! If you see a good review with five stars, it was probably written by her husband. read more

You will be charged a $100 fee if you are late or miss their phone call to confirm an appointment. They make you sign a document agreeing to this policy. The receptionist/owner is condescending if you're late by five minutes or didn't return his call on time. I left upset because I didn't get the dental work I needed and paid for X-rays, missed work, and had to travel. read more

I had an implant done with another dentist and it failed. I was in a lot of pain that was radiating down the entire left side of my jawline, so I went to see Dr. Hamdan. I was hopeful since she was a referral. I had my previous dentist send over the x-rays so she could get a look at what was going on. I was told that none of my visits would be covered, so I had to pay out of pocket. My first visit was $99. Still in a lot of pain, a month goes by and no results. So I called and was now told I needed a CT scan of my mouth so they could see things better. That visit was $98. I was also given a box to take to the lab so they could run a multitude of tests on me to see if I had any allergic reactions to any metals (any of the fillings or the implant). The lab charged me $35 for the blood draw and the company the dentist had me send it to charged me $325 to test my blood. So I'm out of pocket now $557. The test results came in to me as well as Dr. Hamdan but I never receive a phone call. Three weeks go by and once again I call to see if I can get my results, so I made an appointment. The day of my appointment I receive a call from Abdul telling me that she won't be giving me my results, she doesn't actually read them and I need to return to my dentist to get them read. This was the whole reason I went to her in the first place. Why did I just spend two months of my life with her getting seen in her office and tested by her with expensive tests that all of a sudden she won't read? So I learned later from yet another dentist the implant had eaten the bone in my jaw away. I was in agony and nobody could see the missing bone? I was put on antibiotics for the infection not to mention the many months of pain while the bone continued to get eaten away. How did she not see it? It was glaringly obvious. This seems like malpractice to me. read more

My heart went out to Janise M when I read her review. She's had so much suffering. My experience (since June 2022) with PBD has been so different from hers, and that concerns me for both their sakes. I, too, had pain for several years in a root canal tooth. I told my former dentist several times over 5 years. She took x-rays every time but told me she couldn't see any problem. I asked her a couple of times, since there was pain, that must mean that there were still nerves. She agreed, but she would just look at me as if there was no answer. When the pain got to be severe, I looked for alternatives to traditional dentistry and found holistic/biological dentistry. I found 4 practices in the Phoenix area. I researched and called all of them. What made me choose Dr. Hamdan was her background, training, experience, and IAOMT-and SMART-protocol certification (which I looked for because I had several teeth with mercury amalgam fillings) . Not all the dentists have that certification. I didn't want to take any chances with my health declining as it had been the past several years. Another reason for choosing PBD was how helpful and patient Abdul was in answering all my questions, the time he took with me, and how knowledgeable he was in the procedures. That was a contrast to the others where I talked with receptionists who didn't know a lot and didn't have the time to answer questions beyond the most basic. Dr. Hamdan did a CT scan to determine if there was an infection but warned me that sometimes even that did not show up an infection. The results were inconclusive, so she did a CAT scan and that did show the infection and inflammation. The only option was extraction. It turned out that my tooth had curved roots which necessitated a surgical extraction. I had a lot of post-op pain partly due to the long-standing infection. She called me even after hours to check on me and worked with me on how to decrease the pain as much as possible. I also have a titanium tooth implant done a few years ago. I have metal allergies but thought that titanium was safe. No, the titanium implant is an alloy which has aluminum in it and possibly others. The orthodontist who did it never informed me that there was a safer, bio-compatible alternative to titanium - a zirconium implant. Metal allergies are serious especially when the metals are in the mouth. I think that's why Dr. Hamdan wanted to check Janise M. for them; perhaps that's the main reason why her implant failed. Dr. Hamdan also does a periodontal ligament removal after an extraction to ensure the healthiest recovery and healing and to help ensure a successful implant. If Janise M. would even want my advice, I would encourage her to talk with Dr. Hamdan and have an honest discussion with her to come to a better understanding on both sides. There isn't a dentist who I trust more. I have found her to be highly skilled, deeply knowledgeable, dedicated, and caring, one who took the time to explain to me what the problems were and why, and to explain the procedures needed. read more

Called to find out about safe removal of amalgam fillings and the male receptionist just wouldn't answer my questions about pricing and certain details about procedures which a customer has a right to know. He was beating around the bush until he eventually pretty much hung up on me. Didn't quite understand why such an attitude. Maybe time to change a receptionist? Or is it a policy of a clinic to hide important details about dental procedures? read more
