Jordan was awesome. He arrived quickly, courteous as ever and met me at my car. He tested & diagnosed my 7 yr old & dead battery, had a replacement readily available and in 5 minutes my car sprung to life. Because Im traveling, the rear area in my car where you need to access the battery, was packed. Jordan helped me clear out and put back my stuff thoughtfully. Standard story. Battery was dying. Was going to jump it and go to Walmart to buy a replacement. AAA stated they could bring my replacement battery to me. Given the timing and the convenience, I said "Why not?" Montel came out, troubleshot and offered to install a new battery. A total no-brainer. Montel was gone in less than 20 minutes. What a gentleman. Given the AAA discount, the price with installation was about $10 more than if I had driven to Walmart, waited 3 hours and bought an equivalent battery. AAA has saved my bacon again but the hero of this story is Montel who was as courteous as could be and equally competent and professional read more

Danny came out today and was awesome - professional - customer service + and got us up and running in a matter of minutes! Temp today is 106 so it was VERY much appreciated! If you have AAA and need help w your battery in the Phoenix area - request Phoenix Battery Services! read more

I honestly wish I could give zero stars. I pray to God that AAA will stop using this company for battery services. The technician didn't install the recommended battery and charged me despite my dead battery being under warranty... A different Phx Battery Service Tech through AAA had replaced a dead battery exactly 2 years ago today. I tried to dispute, but stopped because I didn't want to waste any more of my time. Tried to call Jonathan and of course was told that he was not in office today. AAA is opening an investigation thank God. read more

My car would not start and I contacte AAA for assistance and gave my location and description of the vehicle. Not even 5 minutes later, I received a call from Phoenix Battery Service that they were on their way. The technician, Christian, arrived in a very nice and well maintained van and immediately identified the issue and provided information on his battery assessment test of the battery life left which was very low. Christian gave an estimate to clean the corrosive connections and replace the battery with a new one and efficiently did the work within a very short time frame. Christian made sure that the car would start and was running well before leaving. I highly recommend Phoenix Battery Service and in particular, the outstanding and skilled technician, Christian, who is an outstanding ambassador for the company. Highly recommend! read more

Called AAA to come to my home to check car battery because my car wouldn't start. About one hour later James arrived. He tested the battery and determined a cell was dead. He replaced the battery quickly and my car easily started again. Yay! The price was very fair @ $235.00. James was wonderful to deal with and even reset my clock for me. James could teach others that I have read about on yelp how to perform excellent customer service. Thanks James! read more

This all started on October 10 when I called AAA to have my car jumped. Phoenix Battery service came out and told me I had a bad battery and needed it replaced, I'm not from Arizona and was just visiting so I said alright switch it out- the cost was $219.24 and they installed a AAA brand battery which I was already skeptical about that. Turns out I was right- I left Phoenix a couple weeks after and went to explore flagstaff. Now is Nov 22, I've had the battery for around 40 days and I was 1/2 mile off the 17 freeway when I went to start my truck and nothing.... It was dead and I had left nothing on previously. I called AAA at 6am and made a claim to have someone come out and get me since it's winter and 34 degrees out. They gave me a estimated time of 90 min and I wait, then it gets cancelled after the 90 min. I submitted again and got another 90 min wait time. This time I was called an hour later and then randomly transferred to the nearest tow company, the woman told me that they don't do forest roads and I would have to get a different tow company. Now it's already almost noon and still cold, I ended up having to pay another tow company to come the 1/2 mile off the highway which was funny because a 2 wheel drive sedan was in front of the tow truck while they drove in. Real tough road apparently. When the new tow company came out, they tested the battery and said it was a bad cell and the battery was a bad battery. They explained that this shouldn't happen and even if I left lights on or anything, it wouldn't have made a brand new battery bad. I got towed to flagstaff the city which was 20+ miles and went to an auto zone to purchase a battery. ( the whole time I talked to AAA and asked about being reimbursed for the battery and they explained that I would have to submit a form but it would get taken care of. ). Now it's already 2pm at this point when I get the new battery from autoZone with a warranty. I ended up filling out everything and submitting my receipts for the old and new batteries. Then I get a call from AAA reimbursement department and told I would not be getting reimbursed. When I tried to tell them what happened the guy told me to contact their legal department. Oh okay, if that's how AAA does business then fine. I just want everyone to know how shady this company is. When you start really reading the revivers about them, it's horrible and I completely agree with all the bad reviews. Horrible service from the company and there associates. The best part of all this is that I actually found a company that will go anywhere to help you. If you haven't tried Goodsam yet, I recommend looking into them. They have been way more helpful with everything and they go off road or anywhere you need saved. Buyers beware of this place and their scams. I'm attaching my receipt just so everyone can see that this was a legit transaction and AAA says try warranty their batteries for 60 days and you can get a refund but I had to pay for 2 batteries and a tow and can't even get a refund for a faulty battery they gave me. Bad business and wouldn't trust them at all. read more

When Phoenix Battery Service replaced my dead battery under my AAA plan, I was given a credit card receipt, and was told I would receive the warranty/ invoice by email. I have never received it, despite three attempts with AAA. I finally called Phoenix Battery Service direct and was told that the van drivers sometimes don't provide the warranty paperwork to the office. (They will be the first ones to ask to see it if I need a warranty battery replacement in the future.) For the 4th time, I'm waiting to receive it. They are unprofessional! Is it a ploy to hold back the 3-year warranty paperwork, so they can charge me full price when their battery dies? Or are they just disorganized? Either way, it is not acceptable. Especially when AAA passes the buck. read more

Had a dead battery in a 2017 Honda HRV. Asked for help from AAA and they sent a car from Phoenix Battery. Their tech, Edward King got there fast and figured out the issue very quickly. The battery had been in the car since it was purchased new and was dead after a few years driving in Phoenix heat. He explained the problem and got us a quote on a new battery plus cleaning the corroded terminals for a total of 235. Done in less than 30 minutes, great and friendly service. read more

I had a AAA battery replacement call. I had to make two calls for this as the first technician did not have the battery. Second guy tells me there is a 19.95 terminal cleaning charge, really it takes ten seconds. Also added a 45.00 installation charge. I have AAA full coverage. Called AAA and Josh said he knew nothing about additional charges and that it should be covered by my AAA comprehensive plan. My opinion, this place is bad business preying on customers of AAA. read more

My car's battery died and AAA sent Phoenix Battery Service to the rescue. Dan arrived in about 30 minutes (much quicker than AAA's estimate), tested the existing (3 year-old) battery, explained options, and installed a new battery. Would recommend Phoenix Battery Service -- thanks! read more

I spoke to John, the owner of Phoenix battery service. I explained to him that AAA came out and discovered that my battery was dead. I bought the battery less than 1 year ago I spent over $300 for my Mercedes-Benz battery. He did not care. He told me to purchase more equipment to charge the battery. From what I understand you need an AC adapter and I was not able to buy any of that because I could not charge it in my home. I said to him to please replace the battery since it is defective. John, the owner refused to replace the battery and dismiss me like I was not an important issue to him. I would never use this business. The man is not trustworthy and this battery should have been replaced since they sold me a defective battery read more

BUYER BEWARE! Phoenix Battery Assist lacks professionalism, accountability and does not demonstrate good faith in its services nor its business practices. The company applied shoddy workmanship and holds itself to a low standard in both repairs and customer service. Installing a new battery is fairly common on the scale of car repairs and is supposed to be Battery Assist's niche. Yet, their new battery installation has caused significant damage to systems otherwise working properly prior to this new battery installation. Phoenix Battery Assist denies assessments made by a qualified, reputable auto dealership Service Manager who tested, reset and witnessed damage. Lack of accountability has resulted in hundreds of dollars of repairs needed to resolve the damage incurred by Battery Assist. Phoenix Battery Assist claims it has no responsibility whatsoever about the damage caused or, seemingly, their long term relationship with AAA as a preferred service vendor. Curious that other reviews listed here are also poor ratings with similar experiences, and appear to also be posted by women. The picture being painted speaks volumes. Should you require battery services for your vehicle, look elsewhere. Save yourselves from this highly-questionable AAA service vendor. read more

CONSUMER BEAWARE. PHOENIX BATTERY SERVICE comes out to service you under AAA, however, they are not to be trusted with giving you the right information. Horrible company, doesn't honor warranty. Contractor for AAA so they have no strings attached to be responsible for. The manager Stephen Cain was completely unprofessional, an absolute piece of garbage. The company offers service for electric vehicles, they don't even have any information or the skill set to barely even jumpstart. Any company where the customer has control over the drivers pay is clearly flawed, and it is by design a way to make more money from battery sales then what should go to the driver. If you do this to about 13 drivers which is exactly how many there are, you're making a couple extra thousand, skimming it directly from the drivers pocket with reason to blame the driver. A 4 out of 5 survey will drop the drivers pay 500 dollars. That is by design read more

Jump started my battery. Told me my battery was bad, dead. If I turn car off it won't start again. Asked how much for a battery...$234 What???? Is this a rip off for females alone and broken down? DO T USE THESE SCAMMERS HORRIBLE. INCOMPETENT DISHONEST LIARS mario came out and first of all couldn't find the house so we watched him drive for several blocks. After five texts he finally came back! then he said the battery was dead (yeah that's why we called) and that since it had replaced another battery this one was not under warranty at all we disputed that. Then he said his jump box was drained and if he couldn't test the matters they couldn't replace it u set warranty. Then we complained to him about that and he said "I'm not going to be threatened". No threat was ever made directly or indirectly‼ So Phoenix Battery/AAA tried to defraud or scam us and never did the work the membership with AAA and our warranty supposedly covered and paid to have THEY SUCK read more

Alex Begay from Phoenix Battery from AAA came to my rescue today with a dead battery. I was absolutely convinced I bought my last battery through AAA, but there were no records of such to be found. He was so very professional and I so appreciated his kindness. I'm sorry for my HUGE mistake and apologize to Alex and his manager. Joshua K took advantage of and ripped off an elderly woman. My battery gauge was reading 0. Joshua said one of the battery cells was dead. I told him the battery was only 3 weeks old (can be verified by Martin's Auto). He told me it was a old battery. I asked him wasn't there a date on the battery. He told me they do not do that anymore. He did not try to charge the battery. Told me my only option was buying a new battery. I wanted to keep the battery he was replacing. He told me it was too dangerous. It would leak in my car and eat my carpeting. According to my mechanic, Martin's Auto, there was never anything wrong with the battery. It was the alternator. Very corrupt business. read more

This is a review of their Mesa location. We called AAA to have a battery replaced. They came over and my girlfriend who's car needed a battery went down to speak with the battery installer. I came down around 20 minutes later and Mike G told her that her ports leading from battery to car were bad and needed to be replaced. When I got down there I was looking at it and he has the battery in backwards. Yes, a battery installer didn't know how to install a battery. On top of this he also charged her for a difficult install which added up to around $50 extra. It was one screw that he has to loosen and tighten. I called the manager and he apologized and said he would refund the extra charge. We are now two weeks later and there has been zero communication and zero refund. I have contacted AAA and left a report for the area manager who contracts out to this company. We will not be working with them going forward. Please be aware that if I didn't come down that she would have taken the car into the shop and been charged even more for something she didn't need. Poorly run company with incompetent staff. read more

Re: Labor (diagnostic) charge $58.20 for a truck battery less than 4 months old in a 2020 Ram truck through AAA service. We had a battery replaced in 10/2021 for our 2020 Ram truck. The battery was still under warranty. We called AAA to have the battery replaced. My husband was told that it was a diagnostic charge. The battery was replaced free of charge. When I called Phoenix Battery Service and spoke to Ana, she stated that the charge was for a "difficult installation". I asked to speak to a manager, however, they were all busy at the time of the call. Ana did offer to take my name and number to forward to the manager. Within 15 minutes I received a call from a manager Steve (?) and he resolved the issue. He stated that there shouldn't have been any labor charged for my vehicle and would give a full refund today. Both Ana and Steve were professional and polite. Steve did state that he would discuss the matter with Miguel R. as to why he made the charge in the first place. I initially gave one star but due to the rapid response from the manager, I am pleased with the outcome and professionalism. read more

Came to my rescue when my battery failed. $232. for a $145. battery was installed, so you're actually paying an extra $99. for the mobile installation service. Maybe you could call it a "convenience fee", or highway robbery, depends on the person stranded with a dead battery. read more

Absolutely horrible service. Waited 90 minutes before a driver was even assigned to me where I had to sit outside in 100 degree heat. Then once he showed he jumped my car and said the battery wouldn't hold a charge, but it's not bad so he can't replace it, that I had to go to a AAA service center on 51st and Peoria. I specifically asked if it was open and he said yes. Drove over there and guess what they were closed. So now I have to get another jump start to leave my house to go to work in the morning. read more

If I could rank zero starts I would. The person on the phone is rude. The manager is a joke and has no idea what's going on. I was told I'd have a jump in 90 minutes. I took my Honda to the dealership for service, and they told me that I had a bad battery and provided the battery results printout. I had a warranty on the battery through AAA so I went home and called them for a battery. Phoenix battery service came out and said the battery is fine "but could use a charge". I asked him which is it - Is it good or could it use a charge? I explained my wife and child were going to Globe for the weekend and I wanted to make sure they were safe. He said they would be perfectly safe. Fast forward to Globe and my wife and child are stuck for 2 1/2 hours with a dead battery. AAA dispatched a service truck who indicated the battery is bad, but they did not have the necessary battery so he jumped the car and told them to drive straight home and get a battery on Phoenix. Called AAA again. Phoenix Battery came out and said the battery is fine, but it could be because it charged form the drive back from Globe. He said to call AAA again when my wife got stuck somewhere so they could replace it under warranty. So his suggestion was to put my family at risk even though it should now be obvious - and in AAA records - that I have a bad battery. I had to buy one at full price to make sure my wife's car was safe to use and called AAA for the warranty credit. They said my claim was denied without even following up with the Globe AAA service provider. I called Phoenix Battery to discuss but never received a return call. read more

I want to give a shout out to the manager Jim Potts at Phoenix Battery Service . We had a issue over a warranty on AAA battery that we had purchased 3 yrs ago. Mr Potts went out of his way to come to a conclusion that was very fair for both parties. Transactions are not perfect all of the time and it's not always black and white. How a company handles those situations speaks volumes for the integrity of the company and the fact that the manger was empowered and trusted enough to make the tough decisions . In late August I called AAA to service my dead battery. Phoenix Battery Service responded and replaced it. Two days later I discovered that the technician had disabled my windshield wipers when replacing the battery. A supervisor came to my house to repair the problem but was unable to do so. He told me to take it to the dealer to have the work done and they would reimburse me. I did that and on September 11, I submitted the bill for $185 which I had paid for reimbursement. After numerous phone calls and emails, I have not been reimbursed as of November 3. This is the worst customer service experience I have ever had. This company made the error, asked me to pay for it with the assurance I would be reimbursed, and then did nothing for almost two months. Shame on them. read more

I have had a number of experiences with Phoenix Battery. Only once did a call result in a quick battery fix. All others resulted in the purchase of new batteries. One time they refused to do anything until I had my truck evaluated at the dealer. I paid to have it towed, the dealer found nothing wrong and then Phoenix Battery replaced my batteries. Six months later batteries are dead again. Service man started right out talking about new batteries. I told him his batteries were not reliable and I wasn't going to buy again. He said I was being rude, packed up his stuff and left me stranded. I bought a charger, and hours later the batteries were strong enough to start the truck. When you call PB you are requesting someone to come and sell you very expensive batteries, that's what they call service. Don't use them. read more

If I could rate this less than zero, I would. Through AAA, Phoenix Battery was to provide battery replacement service. The tech called me about 30 minutes after my request with AAA and said he would be another 25-30 minutes. Not great in 108 degrees, but manageable; however, he NEVER showed up, NEVER called back, and when I called AAA back, they informed me "the service provider has informed us that they will be unable to perform the service".
