    Stir fry beef pho

I was happy they actually had the AC on and I could feel it! I really hate being uncomfortable while dinning. Our servers were attentive and steered us in the right direction on our dishes. My husband originally ordered something that had a dry rub. Our server made sure he realized what the dish consisted of. Which gave him the opportunity to change dishes. I asked for no bean sprouts and it was no big deal at all. My husband & I really enjoyed our dishes. They tasted so fresh, not oily, and even healthy. Next weekend my husband and I will be going back to Mahopac and may need to eat there again.

There has never been a time where I went to this restaurant where I said "it tasted better last time." This place is incredibly consistent with its quality and flavor everyone needs to try this place NOW. My go to is the seafood pho and the crispy fish bahn mi. The broth is incredibly flavorful and the crispy fish is cooked to perfection. This place also fries chicken really well. We ordered the popcorn chicken, Szechuan chili chicken, and wings in the past. It was never too much breading and perfectly seasoned and crisp. I've been here maybe 7 times. The food remains top tier as well as the service. Pho6 and its staff deserve everything and more! Come support!! WARNING: DO NOT SKIP THE PASSION FRUIT PUNCH. I DON'T CARE IF YOUR FAMILY ONLY ORDERS WATER AT RESTAURANTS YOU NEED TO TRY IT

Was in the area and stopped in for lunch. Tried the pho and banh mi. Both are good for this far north. The pho was light and not oily but missing some of the deep flavors of authentic pho but still came with all the accompaniments of lime, chili peppers, mint and bean sprouts. The pork chop banh mi came with a healthy amount of pickles on it, but the bread was not a french b as baguette and more like a hoagie roll. The springrolls were accompanied with the traditional dipping sauce and pickled veggies and we enjoyed the butterflied shrimp. The pork chop over rice was good enough to devour by my husband. Would come back again if we are in the area.

Came in here to have a quick lunch. I had pineapple fried rice and a soup dish. Both delicious and prices are reasonable. Will definitely return!

The vibe of this place is so chill!! Modern, clean decorations, and they played actually good music which made the ambiance even better. The service was good, and the food was delicious!!! I would come back again.

When I see kids and children inside the counter, it says the management has gone downhill. I love children and kids but they should left at home with babysitting and come to work freely. PHO IS AVERAGE NOT SO CRAZY . We made Wrong turn when we searched for Pho

I don't like the burnt pork. Otherwise it is ok given what is available in the vicinity.

However, ever since Covid, supplies have been short, & seems each time I've called in the 6 years hence, she's either always out of something, or simply doesn't carry it anymore- like brown rice! Also, while her menu prices ( take-out, mind you) have increased exponentially, almost each new time I've ordered , the quantity as well as, sadly, the quality is just not the same ! Just as an example, her basic pint -yes, pint of Wonton soup went from a reasonable $1.75/$2.25- to currently $4.60 ( less wontons). Another, on same block charges $3.55!! CG's " small" appetizer of spareribs have only 4, instead of the previous 5, & now cost $ 10.25!!! ( was like $6.00, when I came up here). Their neighbor competitor ( same block )- $9.15!! So, like grocery stores, paying more for less! No more brown rice at all. ** Now, if it were just economics, that'd be one thing, but the whole taste of the food is different; less! It's like Amy's not even bothering to bring her " A game"! That, to me, is most disturbing! Frankly, there's a lot of competive choices in the area. So, ok, the current lousy economy, prices, gas for deliveries, & problems are a real issue. If one chooses to eat out, then that's the reality . But, as a business, I'd think, given the proximity of the competition , I don't understand why you wouldn't do your absolute best, to stay ahead of the competition, & offer your best meals, given the cost to the customers ? Frankly, it's not only frustrating, it's plain sad! After the last experience, made a note reminding myself- nope, not again, not worth $$$ - for takeout!!

Some standouts were the twice cooked pork, the dry fried long beans, and the fish soup. The twice cooked pork had very thinly sliced pork and it was rich and well seasoned with chili bean paste. The long beans were wrinkly and deep fried with savory ground pork mixed in. The fish sound had abundant tender pieces of fish and a creamy mild broth. I convinced my dining companions to try the braised kidney flowers, as 火爆腰花 is one of my favorite sichuan dishes and I was interested to try this braised version. While most of my friends were not particularly into the kidney, I really enjoyed this dish. The hatched kidneys were floating in a rich broth with peppers and bundles of glass noodles. The noodles were unexpected, but a very welcome addition as they allowed me to consume more of the delicious braising liquid. The kidneys were tender and bouncy, exactly I as expected them to be. I didn't place the order so I'm not sure if you can select the spiciness level of your food when ordering, but I didn't find any of this food to be particularly spicy and I found the tingly mala notes to be muted. While everything was very delicious, aside from the sweet and sour pork which I found to be inedibly sweet, I think this is a more tame and toned down expression of bold Sichuan flavors. The service was extremely friendly and I would return again for another group dinner, as they have enough options here to satisfy a wide variety of diners with different palettes. Hopefully next time I can sell my companions on the 夫妻肺片,as I've heard they make a great iteration of the dish here at Mountain House and I would love to try it.

I've dined here with my family twice and in the most recent occasion, we came with no reservations around 2:30pm on a Sunday. All the tables were taken as they just opened at noon so we had to wait a bit. Their menu / iPad ordering system was simple to navigate and quick to place. Our table was started off with their spicy pickled cabbage, which was super addicting. I love how the spicy oil was so flavorful and the cabbage was soft and just slightly tangy. We ordered 5 dishes for our party of 5: the la-zi chicken, stir fried cabbage, grilled beef ribs, beef and mushroom bibimbap and mao xue wang. My favorites were the la-zi chicken as the diced chicken was super crispy and flavorful. The spice level and numbingness was just the right amount. Next comes the beef and mushroom bibimbap, which is mixed and served at the table. The flavors were more soy based and was very balanced. The stir fried cabbage was cooked well but the pork in the dish was extremely salty. The grilled beef ribs came with steamed baos, similar to peking duck. I enjoyed the experience and presentation but the dish was a bit boring. Toppings included a spicy hot sauce, cucumbers and scallions along with the sliced beef that was individually torched at the table. Lastly the mao xue wang is a traditional stew featuring offals and blood curds. This one had duck blood, tripe, and intestines. I was extremely disappointed by this dish as I was expecting some tofu and small pork intestines but it didn't have either. The tripe and intestines were very crunchy, wherwas the duck blood was silky and soft. The flavor was very basic mala stew and had a ton of red chili peppers. Overall I had a decent meal at Mountain house but can't help but wonder if I ordered the right things since not everything was as good as I hoped. I will mostly likely return to give their other menu items a try.
