Large order last night. Mediocre at best. It was early but their fryer needed oil change. Shrimp toast awful. Fried rice had strange taste. Chix and snow peas had mostly other veggies. I know you just reopened heck we have been waiting a long time for this. However all the food was very disappointing. It used to be great. Chicken wings over cooked inedible fried rice dry beef chow fun meat was closer to beef jerky than the silky beef the dish is known for and the egg drop soup was like dishwater. We will try you again in a few weeks. I don't believe any business should be rated solely on one visit however if we encounter the same results then we will be searching for a new place. Wasn't too sure what to expect, but it was surprisingly good. Chicken wings - were crispy and flavorful. Sweet and Sour Shrimp - bigger than what I'm used to, and couldn't really taste the shrimp but the pork fried rice was delicious. I wish they gave more. Moo Shu Beef - very good and filling. I got a Chicken and Broccoli lunch special there today and it was horrible! The first two bites of chicken were inedible with gristle ~ SO disgusting and unappetizing! The chicken itself (the tiny amount that was there) was awful - two gigantic pieces of tough, nasty chicken which I couldn't even eat! To make matters worse, there were all kinds of other things in there, too, which didn't belong there ~ carrots, scallions and mushrooms. WHO puts all of that into chicken and broccoli? What a ripoff for almost $9. The only reason I went there was because the place across the street (New Pagoda) was not open. Their food is MUCH better! I suggest if you want Chinese food in that area, go across the street to New Pagoda! read more

ordered vegetable dumplings. in the container was a few pieces of what looked like pork. Opened the dumplings inside was what looked like bad tofu with a brown film on the pieces. Aren't vegetable dumplings supposed to just have vegetables in it. I'm convinced they tried to poison me. Their vegan orange chicken is amazing and I'm glad I have an actual vegan option in this area that isn't fast food or a 20 buck sandwich. Vegan options are good. I like that it's not greasy. Bubble teas are okay, not the greatest but I still give it 5 stars for the food.

We're new to the area and have been having a craving for some Chinese throughout this whole covid pandemic. We saw that China taste was under new ownership and decided to give it a try. Staff was very friendly and helpful. And honestly the food was 100% better then the restaurants we had back in my old town. I usually order from China Taste in person for pick up and I've never had a problem. I ordered for delivery and the food took an hour to get to me. It was a VERY simple meal, garlic chicken two orders of crab Rangoon, two shrimp rolls, chicken mei fun soup. All of the food I ordered tasted completely bland and the fried food was burnt and soaked in oil. Egg rolls were completely over cooked same with the Crab Rangoon. The Mei fun soup I ordered just barely had flavor. I paid a decent amount and probably shouldn't have tipped the driver and I gave over a 20% tip because I was expecting to have a delicious meal. Very disappointed. Quality has deteriorated Just had pork and mixed veggies and brown rice. The pork was old and dried out. Too tough to chew. Definitely left over from God knows when. The Brown rice was clumpy, dried out crunchy and I'm guessing old as well. Also left a perfume like after taste- I spit it out immediately! I was charged 25 dollars for 2 combination dishes. While further inspection of their menu revealed I was over charged. It's been about 12 hours now after I ate that food. And my girlfriend and I are so sick with stomach aches.. do yourself a favor and remember the reviews. They are accurate... They are so so here! Carmel doesn't have many Chinese restaurants to choose from but after this experience its now one less! My pork fried rice w/boneless spare ribs rice was in a plastic to go container and the bottom was a bed of oil, my rice was oily and they advertise on the menu 100% vegetable oil, I don't think that means using a bottle on 1 meal! This restaurant was disappointment after disappointment! We had a coupon for free 2 liter soda after spending 20.00, they conveniently forgot to give it to is. After an hour I went back for it & she claimed to not remembered me buying food there!! I showed the receipt with the hour and she didn't look happy at all to fork over the lousy 2 liter! They bagged our meal without spoons napkins, or forks, So if we had decided to eat at the park we would have been S.O.L. ! As well as no duck sauce no soy sauce no hot sauce !
