    Grilled pork banh mi

Great place for Vietnamese food. I got the grilled pork banh mi and tried the combo pho and it was very delicious. The banh mi was nicely flavored. The interior was clean and spacious. The service was fast and reliable.

This is not exactly what I wanted to see when I'm about to eat my food, it is so gross, I wonder what else they did not wash !!! So gross!!!

    #16 Chicken Pho

I tried the Chicken Pho (#16) and Egg Rolls (#5). The pho was warm and comforting, though the chicken in it tasted reheated and slightly stale. The egg rolls were crispy and came with a decent portion of side salad. Service was quick, which was a plus. However, the floors and tables were a bit sticky, and the condiments--like the Sriracha bottle--had noticeable buildup, which was off-putting. A little more attention to cleanliness would have made the experience much better and would have been a solid 4-star visit.

    Pho :)

Food, service and ambiance were great!! I will definitely come back here again next Coachella festival :)

Beef and shrimp over egg noodles

I have to remove a few stars to tonight's meal. Both dishes with rice vermicelli (Spring rolls and chicken vermicelli bowl) had pieces of uncooked noodles, so hard I almost broke my teeth!! Shrimp spring rolls were bland, like missing all the fresh herbs like cilantro, mint, basil - was bad...uncooked rice noodles throughout the rolls I had to pick out or crack my teeth. Chicken in bahn mi and vermicelli bowl was flavorful and good, but the bowl was just missing fresh herbs. Service is fine, I feel everyone there is bored with lack of enthusiasm, no big deal. When I told the server about the uncooked vermicelli, she didn't even care and probably didn't even tell the kitchen. Another less star for all the reports of roaches, if I saw that, we wouldn't even have come here - just gross.

    Bun bo hue

Wasn't expecting to find Vietnamese food out in the desert so I was excited to try Pho Vu, which seems quite popular. The space is large with the ability to connect tables, making it good for groups. They also have a decent selection of food such as pho, banh xeo, egg rolls, and bun bo hue. My bun bo hue was pretty good; it didn't come with all the toppings I'm used to and wasn't as sour/spicy as other spots, but it was still tasty. What I liked the most about this spot was the service. Waiters were friendly, funny, and helpful; one waiter let my friend order something off menu so that she could get the toppings she likes.

    #42--BBQ Chicken Vermicelli Bowl

This is the type of Vietnamese food you might expect to find in a retirement home--bland and boring. The fresh spring rolls had NO herbs in them, which is where the flavor comes from. Also, they lacked the traditional rice noodles. Nothing but iceberg lettuce. The peanut sauce was the only thing that provided flavor. The BBQ Chicken Vermicelli Bowl also was totally devoid of herbs, such as thai basil and mint. The sauce (nuoc cham) is supposed to contain fresh lime juice, fish sauce, sugar and chiles. This version perhaps had some fish sauce, but no fresh lime juice or fresh chiles. Again, very bland. The pickled carrots and daikon were limp and dull. The broth in my husband's pho was fine but, again, the only herb offered were a few sad sprigs of cilantro. Thai basil is an absolute must! My daughter-in-law's spicy chicken wasn't. It would be so easy to make this food flavorful, it's a shame they don't. The prices are quite reasonable, but you get what you pay for. The restaurant was amazingly busy given the quality, and we waited quite a while for service and for our food. All in all a disappointing experience.

This restaurant was highly recommended by a friend living in Palm Springs. The staff was very friendly and our waiter was very helpful. We ordered some chicken wings, crispy egg rolls and and bbq pork, shrimp and egg roll vermicelli noodles. Everything was on point and the wings and rolls were hot and crispy. It was quite authentic to me!

My go to place for Vietnamese food in Palm Desert. Fast, reliable service and taste whether it's dine in or togo. My coworkers and I always enjoy our time here in their comfy red booths. Their portion size is great and their pho is always steaming.

On our journey to Palm Springs my team left the food choices to me since I'm picky. Lol. We showed up on a Wednesday night (note that they do not open Monday and Tuesday), around 4:40 PM. There was already a long line of individuals waiting to get in. There were about 15 people ahead of us. At opening, we were immediately sat down into the second dining room to the right of the restaurant. It gives a different vibe than the main room with its red bench seating and lantern ceiling. Although the benches were high, and the tables were a little low, we managed. Of course, we tried the complementary congee. Which I love, but my colleagues were not a big fan of. We ordered the calamari and the crispy beef noodle. We also ordered the shrimp and mango spring roll, the softshell crab and green papaya salad, and the pork belly lettuce wraps. The shining stars, for my colleagues were the calamari and crispy beef noodle. Followed by the shrimp and mango spring rolls and the softshell crab. The three of us did not enjoy the pork belly at all even though it came recommended. We actually only ate 2 pieces. The food overall was good although we wish we didn't get the pork or at least stuck to our goal of four main dishes. The waitress recommended we get one more and that's when we added the pork. Next time we will go with our gut instinct. One thing that was disappointing on this visit was that when we ordered drinks, one of them came out in a can. We were under the assumption it was a draft pour. For $14 it should have been noted that it is canned. The way that it is written into the menu no one would assume otherwise.

I was so incredibly impressed with Da Chef Noodle, I felt actually giddy joy when discovering it existed and then even more excited once I learned the food is as good as you think it is going to be when you walk in. I've been several times, the first time about 3 weeks after it opened. Didn't write a review then, or did I? Anyway... It is about the size of a Starbucks lobby, complete with standard decorative restaurant applications. There's a couple of tables and a half dozen booths to sit in. Soda selection is limited, and they do have a few adult beverages there as well. I don't drink, so I usually don't check out the drink menu. Not to make the staff seem too stereotypical, but as soon as I heard the yelling in the kitchen, with the language of the natives, I knew from the first visit, this was gonna be at the very least, a tasty meal. This visit was not a disappointing one. I ordered the potstickers, and an order of combo lo mein. Very good and very filling. And all the flavors were very authentic. I will say the service is hot and miss, but only because the language barrier is somewhat thick. But, I really don't need to ask for anything else past the meal being set, because that's ultimately what matters, in my opinion. As long as we communicate, the plates and cups aren't thrown at me, I'm a happy camper. I feel like this place is a little more popular for take out, but I think it is also worthy of a sit in meal. I'm having the duck next time... Thanks!

We placed a large order in advanced online, ample of time for them to make. Upon arrival, our food was nowhere to be found. Apparently it was grabbed by someone else by mistake or on purpose. My question is, why does this establishment place their online and phone orders by the doorway? The orders are placed on a shelf by the door and food that have been sitting there can be taken by anyone. Supposedly, we were told that it wasn't the first time it's happened. That is has been happening lately that people have been grabbing food either by mistake or taking them. Why now are they doing anything about it? Why didn't they fix that issue when it happened the first time? This is the first time I've ever seen any food spot place togo orders by the door that way. I'm not sure if it's laziness or that's more efficient and quicker for them to get rid of the order. That's a huge problem right there. Anyone can take food by mistake or just plain steal them. This place is small. The staff should have delivery personnel come up to the register and ask for the orders. It's not that hard. All orders should be behind the counter. Apparently a delivery guy came in there and grabbed an order then proceeded to take our bag as well. It's a logistics issue that shouldn't even be a concern. They did fix the problem but we had to wait for them to remake everything all over again so we had to wait again. We the customers had to ask them to accommodate us and have them solve their problems. The staff are young people. They were nice about it but I suggest better service and be more attentive and quick. It was an $80+ order and the food was alright. Expensive and was mediocre. Need more flavor on most and the position could be better. Overall, they did fix the issue, but this place needs to do better.
