I was staying in Desert Hot Springs and drove pretty far out of my way to try Pho Vu. Overall, the pho was good. The broth had a great flavor, the veggies were fresh and abundant, and the portion size was just right. But the noodles were mushy and broken, so I ended up with half a bowl of goo and tiny bits of broken noodles. I was pretty disappointed. There are many options on the menu, there is ample seating throughout the restaurant, and the wait staff were attentive and helpful. I'll definitely be back to give the pho another shot. Out of fairness, I did arrive late in the day. Perhaps the kitchen was winding down for the day when I arrived. Who knows? But if the "Open" sign is on, so too should be the quality of their food. read more

I have had my fair share of great Vietnamese Pho in some of the best places in Southern California, and I was happy to stumble upon Pho Vu in Palm Desert with Yelp's help of course. Upon entering the humble, slightly darkened interior, we were greeted by very friendly staff. We took a seat at one of the booths and reviewed the laminated menu that included a few pictures for people like me who forgot their glasses. We ordered the Banh Mi Chicken Sandwich, a large Pho with rare steak, and the Canh Ga Chien (deep fried chicken wings). The Banh Mi was packed with delicious chicken and cilantro. This was the most packed with meat Banh Mi ever. The large Pho was very good, but the fried chicken wings stole the show. The garlic spiced, slightly spicy wings were amazing, and they were accompanied by pan fried onions and jalepenos. This dish was truly one of the best we have ever had. In regards to the service, it was great. They also had fresh iced green tea, which was delicious and refreshing. If you find yourself in the desert, stop by Pho Vu and order those wings! read more

I gave a 4 start because of the food which was great been craving Pho for a while and my husband took me here .. we got our appetizers and pho quick which is great when you have a 2 year old. Just a few things that bothered a bit 1. we didn't see our sever the whole time he or other employees didn't come by to see if everything was ok. 2. We had our appetizer plates and empty water cups that didn't get filled or were taken off so we had a dirty table which we just put to the side to make space other employees passed by looked over and did nothing. 3. I was looking over after the menu to get something else for my son like a little ice cream or something sweet and when I looked up our check was already coming . She didn't bother to ask if we wanted something else or even as if we wanted our plates cleared off just a here you go .. My husband and I looked at each other and just gave the card and left .. Like I said the food was great the pho and appetizers were great and I just think the customer service should be better instead of them socializing and looking over and not doing there job! read more

My husband and I love Pho Vu and come here when we're in town. The broth is excellent, but I've noticed the portion sizes are getting a lot smaller and the prices have sky rocketed. I now find myself debating on returning and learning to make this at home like I do with most of my food. For two teas, an order of very small spring rolls (they used to be much larger), 1 small bowl and 1 large bowl of Pho, I paid a whopping $42 and some change. For lunch... That's the first and last time I'm doing that. read more

Took my friend here after he partied hard. Nothing like a hot pho to bring you back to life. We were seated immediately and our server was very efficient. She took our order and our food came rather quickly. We ordered the small pho with shrimp and a small pho with briskets. The soup was very hot and tasted good. There is no comparison like little Saigon in OC but for the desert, it's not bad. I'll be back to try the other items on the menu. read more

I come to the place maybe once a month just to scratch my pho itch lol and because it's close to our house. Service is great, BUT food is just whatever it's not good at all. It's flavorless. Also the siracha hot sauce on the table is horrible !!!!!! It's watered down like crazy!!!!! It's not spicy at alllll ! It's nasty ! You can move the bottle and see how watery it is. We made the mistake of ordering takeout from Pho Vu on 06/27/2021. Staff was friendly enough which is why they get more than a 1-star rating, but $30+ for a large bowl of pho with added meatballs and side order of springs rolls is NOT okay. By far the most expensive pho meal I've ever had and nowhere near the best tasting! I understand restaurants have suffered due to COVID and I support them by tipping more, but price gouging does not sit well with me. I would not recommend this establishment unless you want to overpay. read more

I arrive 8:25 pm to this business before closure time which is 9:00 pm according their business schedule and my plan was for take out dinner however and according the person in charge (cashier) told me that the business close at 8:30 no 9:00 pm as they advertised. The owner or owners need to update the hrs in Yelp and Google so clientes can make the plans accordingly their business hrs. read more

I ordered the barbecue pork vermicelli bowl to go, and it was great. There was a bunch of vermicelli but I do wish there was more pork. The sauce sank to the bottom of the container which is why the pic looks a bit bland but there was more than enough sauce available! Taste wise everything was fresh and flavorful! It was the day after Stagecoach and Pho just sounded really good! We came here for lunch before driving back to LA. Place was nice, staff was friendly. I ordered a small Pho Tai and my friend who is a vegetarian got the stir fried noodles with vegetables. I was pretty tired so I also ordered a Vietnamese coffee. The food came out first and my Pho was very tasty. My friend didn't love her noodles - said they were a bit bland but the veggies were good. I asked about my coffee - apparently they didn't get the order or forgot. The guy brought it out and it was really strong! A bit too strong for my taste. I was visiting Palm Springs for a golf get away and found this little gem close to our condo. The restaurant is tucked away in a little strip mall. I only found it because of the sign that faces the main streets. Servers are SUPER friendly! I ordered the Pho Dac Biet, which was the large combination pho. It was packed with tons of goodies. The broth is the most important part of the Pho noodle soup, and it was okay. Not outstanding. But I enjoyed my meal, nonetheless. I also ordered a pair of shrimp spring rolls. The rolls were well prepared, but the sauce was a bit disappointing. It was a bit watered down and bland. I'd totally come back here again! read more

1st of all I have been coming here for almost 2 years and have always enjoyed the food, but on my last visit to Pho Vu. Apparently Covid guidelines are not important to Pho Vu. The Server delivered my food with his mask on his Chin. I then observed him cleaning multiple tables with out gloves. Then a family of 5 was seated. I observed him go take their order and go grab their drinks without using gloves or going to wash his hands. He then stuck his bare hand in the bean sprouts and mint leaves and put on a plate and deliver it to the table. At this point I was unsure how my food was handled and left. I asked to speak with a manager about what I observed. There was not a manager on site. When I explained to the cashier what I observed she didn't seem to care. Its so obvious that Pho Vu does not care about the safety of its customers. read more

Phò Vu is fantastic when I want some fresh, healthful food! I love the veggie phò with tofu. Veggies are blanched to perfection and portions are very satisfying. The best part is they're conveniently located near I-10, so I can grab a great take-out dinner on the way home and feel good about it! Today was no exception. I needed something healthy, and I was craving these noodles in the hot broth. Everything tasted perfect. This restaurant is spacious, clean, and attractive. It's casual enough to go at any time. Decent pho place in the area if you're craving reasonably priced Vietnamese food! I placed an order over the phone for pho tai and bun thit nuong cha gio, and it was ready within 10 minutes. Pho Vu is compliant with dining restrictions and all employees were wearing their masks appropriately and had gloves on. read more

Fresh. Their Phó is good with a rich sauce for pork chicken or beef. The sides are always fresh. I've eaten at the restaurant both inside and for take-out. ADA parking is near the front doors and has ramp access to the restaurant. Inside large isles and tables and booths are available. read more

First time coming here, really disappointed! Food wise taste not bad! But SERVICE WAS REALLY BAD!! I FOUND an INSECT inside my food! Server didn't apologized at all! I told them about it and he went back to the kitchen and changed it real fast, not sure if he gave me a new one or just threw away the insect. The second issue is I asked in advance if I could have the spring rolls without pork as I'm a pescatarian and he told me no as it was pre made but he said I could do it with the spring roll. I got the spring rolls and he still gave me pork on it! I told the other sever about what happened and he DIDN'T APOLOGIZE TOO!! He said the insect was only on one side! WTF?!!! This place is straight garbage. Unfortunately if you're not Vietnamese, or know actual authentic Vietnamese food taste like, then you're simply being fooled. First off the service is horrible. The old man there that works as a waiter is very disrespectful. And second the food is just simply nasty. The pho broth always taste way off and has a spoiled smell to it. The pickled onions always taste spoiled. Never ever get the Banh Xeo, partially cooked crepe very doughy straight nasty not crispy at all. And the egg rolls, they're just very old and refried over n over again. Again, this place can only fool the non Vietnamese people. read more

Staff was low key but kind and helpful. I popped in on accident one night when I was in the area and have ordered several times since. My first fortune cookie read: You are in the right place for something unforgettable. And boy, were they right! The roast pork was sweet, tangy balanced perfect with salty. The walnut shrimp might be the best I've ever had and I've lived all over the world. Typing this now, I can't wait to go back. It is about the size of a Starbucks lobby, complete with standard decorative restaurant applications. There's a couple of tables and a half dozen booths to sit in. Soda selection is limited, and they do have a few adult beverages there as well. I don't drink, so I usually don't check out the drink menu. Not to make the staff seem too stereotypical, but as soon as I heard the yelling in the kitchen, with the language of the natives, I knew from the first visit, this was gonna be at the very least, a tasty meal. This visit was not a disappointing one. I ordered the potstickers, and an order of combo lo mein. Very good and very filling. And all the flavors were very authentic. I will say the service is hot and miss, but only because the language barrier is somewhat thick. But, I really don't need to ask for anything else past the meal being set, because that's ultimately what matters, in my opinion. As long as we communicate, the plates and cups aren't thrown at me, I'm a happy camper. I feel like this place is a little more popular for take out, but I think it is also worthy of a sit in meal. My question is, why does this establishment place their online and phone orders by the doorway? The orders are placed on a shelf by the door and food that have been sitting there can be taken by anyone. Supposedly, we were told that it wasn't the first time it's happened. That is has been happening lately that people have been grabbing food either by mistake or taking them. Why now are they doing anything about it? Why didn't they fix that issue when it happened the first time? This is the first time I've ever seen any food spot place togo orders by the door that way. I'm not sure if it's laziness or that's more efficient and quicker for them to get rid of the order. That's a huge problem right there. Anyone can take food by mistake or just plain steal them. This place is small. The staff should have delivery personnel come up to the register and ask for the orders. It's not that hard. All orders should be behind the counter. Apparently a delivery guy came in there and grabbed an order then proceeded to take our bag as well. It's a logistics issue that shouldn't even be a concern. They did fix the problem but we had to wait for them to remake everything all over again so we had to wait again. We the customers had to ask them to accommodate us and have them solve their problems. The staff are young people. They were nice about it but I suggest better service and be more attentive and quick. It was an $80+ order and the food was alright. Expensive and was mediocre. Need more flavor on most and the position could be better. Overall, they did fix the issue, but this place needs to do better.

As someone who eats sushi regularly, this was not normal tuna by any standard. I brought the issue to the staff's attention and chose not to eat any of the meal. While the employees were polite, the quality of the food itself was unacceptable, especially when serving raw fish. Freshness is the bare minimum with sushi, and this experience completely missed that mark. Quick service and kind staff can only go so far when the food is this poor. Sadly, I will not be returning.
