Spring roll with shrimp fried
Trinh T.

The soup, spring rolls, and egg rolls were decent overall. Pho broth we received was very salty and bland, and you could barely taste the meat in it. Service was where things fell short. Our server seemed to have trouble keeping track of orders, not just at our table, but others around us too. One of my friend's orders was forgotten, and they ended up waiting while the rest of us already had our food. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but there's definitely room for improvement, especially with service and consistency.

Pulled up with a party of 11 people. We had to wait for about 10-15 mins so it wasn't too bad. They made a long table for us outside. We ordered our food and they brought it out pretty fast. I thought service was pretty decent. They constantly refilled our waters. We did had to go inside to pay the bill and they were willing to split the bill per item, which was nice. The food was good for attending to a large party. I think they did really well.

WOW. This place is an absolute gem! We discovered it while attending the Indian Wells tournament and ended up coming back the very next day because the food was just that good! The pho is hands down the best pho I have ever had. And I say that as someone who absolutely loves pho and orders it everywhere. The broth is incredibly flavorful but still tastes clean and authentic. It doesn't feel greasy or heavy at all, just rich, comforting, and perfectly balanced. The chicken is real chicken breast and honestly some of the best I've ever had in pho! The spring rolls were also fantastic. Super fresh and generously packed with shrimp and pork. The staff here are unbelievably kind and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. You can really feel the warmth and authenticity of the place! One detail I really appreciated is how incredibly clean everything is. The utensils were spotless! I've been to places where the spoons can feel a little greasy or have stains, but here everything was perfectly clean. You can tell they really care. If you're anywhere near Indian Wells or Palm Desert, do not miss this spot! Truly one of those places you're so happy you discovered!

3.5/5 After a quick gym session at PF before heading home, I decided to grab a chicken and rice plate. Vietnamese meat and rice dishes always come through, and this was my first time here. While the portion size was decent, I've had better elsewhere. The chicken itself was good, but the rice portion was hella small, which I can eat a lot of! The place seemed very busy, and I'm sure they get a lot of patrons during the colder winter months to enjoy a nice comforting bowl of pho!

It was the day after my cousin's wedding and we were in desperate need of some soup to bring us back to life! Pho Vu fit the bill. Luckily, it wasn't too far from the hotel we checked out from. The place was pretty busy with varying ethnicities but also a lot of Asians, so that was a good sign lol. We both ordered pho (dac biet and chin, nam). Ratios were perfect and the broth and meat were made well. Also ordered banh xeo and a Vietnamese iced coffee. I'm not usually a coffee person, but really enjoyed this one. Coming from the Bay Area, we weren't expecting much but everything hit the spot. Service was friendly, attentive, and efficient. Would totally come here again if in the area.

I was attending a Yelp event at Bermuda Dunes. Afterwards, I text my dear friend who was on vacation with her family in Palm Springs at the time. I wanted to meet up with her since we were both in the desert neighborhood LOL. Luckily, they were available. We headed to Pho Vu in La Quinta for dinner. We got here an hour prior to closing. They weren't too busy at the time which was good for us. Their menu has a variety of food and drink selections... pho, rice, vermicelli, crepes, etc. I normally don't get Banh Xeo (Vietnamese crepe), but I said why not so I got it. It was a large crepe and surprisingly a very crispy one. Usually, these crepes are not supposed to be crispy. This must have been a special crepe LOL. It was quite tasty actually. I enjoyed it very much especially with the flavorful shrimp and bean sprouts inside and the abundance of fresh veggies and fish sauce that came along with it. I would get it again! Thank you my friend for treating dinner! Staff was okay. Service was decent. Ambiance was nice, but they need to fix their AC or get better fans. Fans blowing hot air doesn't cut it. It was really hot in here unfortunately. They also have limited outside seating. Anyway, I would come back here when I'm in the Palm Springs area especially when Handel's Ice Cream is right next door LOL. P.S. They also have a location in Palm Desert.

Tried Pho Vu for the first time. The pho was okay, but the flavor wasn't as rich or deep as I'd hoped. For the price, I expected a bit more in terms of taste and overall experience. It wasn't bad, just not very impressive.

Ask the Community - Pho Vu

Are you guys still open? Called a few days in a row and no answer?

We were just there last night and they were super busy. They did have someone answering the phone, though, I noticed.

Can you order their Pho to go?

Yes

Does their Bon Bu Hue contain congealed pig's blood? I ordered one today and was not sure what some pieces in my soup were. Then I looked up online and notices some recipes do include them.

I never had that, so I don't know the answer to your question. Sorry!

First, I eat pho all over the world, sometimes several times per week. After two back-to-back…read moreorders, this is now my favorite pho spot ever, and the only problem is that I live more than 90 minutes away. The first time I ordered takeout, and actually ended up not eating this until the next day. Everything was delicious and the broth reheated well. The portions are HUGE - I usually order an extra serving of noodles and still don't get as much as this standard order. Same with the rare steak - it was double the amount I usually receive, and my meal was $20. The broth is flavorful and clear to slightly cloudy with a rich amber color - just like fresh, homemade bone broth should be - broth had just the right amount of fat and collagen, which is expected and desired. Flavor was on point with warming spices and just the right amount of salt. All items were boxed separately, including a nice portion of cilantro and chopped white onion. The package of add-ins contained a ton of bean sprouts, large slices of jalapeno and a big bunch of fresh, tender Thai basil. I enjoyed the dish so much that I returned the next day and ordered the same meal, although this time I asked for extra lime because I enjoy the extra brightness that citrus gives the soup. My broth had cooled a bit on the journey home, so I warmed it in a measuing cup and found that the portion was a full 3 cups of broth. Again, the noodle portion was 3x what I typically receive at any other restaurant, and the meat portion was also huge. I asked for extra limes and received about 6 wedges in a separate bag. All of the other add-ins were the same as before, fresh, flavorful, and high quality. Both days the food came out in less than 10 minutes. The service was less friendly than some, but I don't expect a lot other than the food to be good. This is likely a family-run business, not a franchise that makes chicken sandwiches. My order was 100% perfect both days, the food was exceptionally good and the portions alone are worth it if you're hungry (I actually had more than I could eat in one sitting both times, and that is not normal for me when eating pho).

LOCATION: Nice shopping center location, very open with lots of parking. FACILITY: Very nice, not modern inside and has not changed since they opened but totally fine. MENU: Lunch menu is kind of limited but has all the goodness and noodle choices you'd expect. Not much savings for lunch special. FOOD PREP: Very well done for such a small kitchen. FOOD QUALITY: Really good for what it is, I would have liked a bit more spice or to at least to have been asked for spice level options. I'd say spice level was like a 1 at other Thai places. Rice noodle was great. WAITSTAFF: We arrived at open 11:30am, very nice and attentive getting us seated and order in, then they were packed. Only one person on the floor doing everything, he was amazing dealing with seating, orders, and payment. OVERALL VALUE: It is fair but not inexpensive, a good value for sure for our local place that is reliable and consistent. TIP: This is a small restaurant so be kind, when busy they can only go so fast getting your food delivered or the check, They do take out as well.

I was so incredibly impressed with Da Chef Noodle, I felt actually giddy joy when discovering it existed and then even more excited once I learned the food is as good as you think it is going to be when you walk in. I've been several times, the first time about 3 weeks after it opened. Didn't write a review then, or did I? Anyway... It is about the size of a Starbucks lobby, complete with standard decorative restaurant applications. There's a couple of tables and a half dozen booths to sit in. Soda selection is limited, and they do have a few adult beverages there as well. I don't drink, so I usually don't check out the drink menu. Not to make the staff seem too stereotypical, but as soon as I heard the yelling in the kitchen, with the language of the natives, I knew from the first visit, this was gonna be at the very least, a tasty meal. This visit was not a disappointing one. I ordered the potstickers, and an order of combo lo mein. Very good and very filling. And all the flavors were very authentic. I will say the service is hot and miss, but only because the language barrier is somewhat thick. But, I really don't need to ask for anything else past the meal being set, because that's ultimately what matters, in my opinion. As long as we communicate, the plates and cups aren't thrown at me, I'm a happy camper. I feel like this place is a little more popular for take out, but I think it is also worthy of a sit in meal. I'm having the duck next time... Thanks!
