Oh my gosh. When I tell you that you should follow your gut feeling when the person who sits you is rude off the bat you should probably listen. When I started to ask about a different table not directly next to the kitchen, she took the menus away and said "if you don't like its its ok I don't have any more tables, we're full". We were extremely tired and so we decided to stay, the food was ok but the waitress was just rude and short, rolled her eyes at every question, cut us off when we tried to speak, it was awful. We then talked to the manager that was very apologetic, and I said that I would go out of my way to write a review. That was until the waitress came back to confront me about what she did wrong, and when I said : " it was your general attitude and snappiness" , she was like: "give me an example", and I said: " like coming here and confronting me, that's very unprofessional. Our FAVORITE thai place in the desert! We have been loyal customers since they were on 111. The owner and OG employees are great and very attentive. Good amount of tables, never have to wait too long. We usually always order the same things and never disappoint! I am vegetarian so there are a lot of options for me. Absolutely loved our meal from Talay! They do NOT play around with their spice ya'll. I don't think I ordered anything above a level 3 and everything was SPICY! So if you like authentic Thai flavors, this spot is for you. Ordering for delivery was easy and everything arrived hot. Great portions. The papaya salad is one of the best I've had! The shrimps were a decent size and tasted fresh. Their pad thai and panang curry was super solid. Meats were not overcooked. I would definitely not order your food with a high spice level if you are sensitive to spicy food. But if you like it hot, it's a spicy flavor explosion! Spice levels are higher here, ask for 2 or less if you cant handle spice. I eat spicy food and 3 was spicy for me, but the good kind of spicy. The fried rice tasted amazing with the right amount of spice. Another dish to be mentioned is the Mango Curry, so yummy. Sticky rice with coconut icecream and Mango both tasted great. They were able to accommodate a big group (8) for lunch. But for dinner previous night it was completely packed. We couldn't find a spot, but glad we came back for lunch the next day. read more

We made it back for take out. Food is always better when you eat in rather than take out because you can't really get the same effect visually or the proper portions of food verses sauce in a to go box. You can see below the same curry dish and the same noodle dish served in house and served in the to go box. However it was still the best Thai food here in the desert that we have had. The only other concern was the combination fried rice was $3 higher than posted on line and the mango desert was $2 higher than their website pricing. We ordered two mango deserts and they came to over $32 with the tax included and it was not the best . I would definitely skip that next time along with the eggplant dish which had fresh ingredients but was on the bland side. Wouldn't repeat sweet sticky rice. I ordered the pineapple fried rice and a cashew in special house sauce, both worth repeating. Service at this location is very fast - they're not packed yet. We were customers from their old location. This new operation is gradually recovering their old clientele. There was no indication that they were closing, nor any directions for the new locale. I ordered pad thai, red curry and pot stickers for dinner. The Pad Thai was supposed to have pork, but did not. I paid an extra $2 for this, so I was disappointed. And, the flavor was bland. Not a great dish. The red curry was supposed to have chicken and vegetables. Veggies, yes. Chicken? Not a morsel anywhere. Flavor alright, but not the order I placed. And the pot stickers were just plain awful! Tasted like the oil they were fried in was off and old. Plus the dipping sauce tasted like some sort of really odd soy. All in all - simply AWFUL. This was one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had!!! I brought my husband here tonight for his birthday and he was mistreated and humiliated in front of the whole restaurant. Let me begin by saying the appetizers arrived cold in the middle. The steam dumplings were literally soaked in cold water inside, completely inedible. The chicken satay was cold, slimy, and clearly sitting out for far too long, so we could not eat it. We then waited over 45 minutes for our main dishes. At that point, we honestly thought they had completely forgotten about us. No one came to check on us or let us know what was going on. My husband finally went to the counter to politely ask about our food, and the man behind the counter was extremely rude from the start. Instead of answering, he told my husband "If you want to leave, you can leave." When my husband asked why he was being so rude and simply wanted to know how much longer the food would take, the man just ignored him. Then, the man yelled loudly at the cook, saying, "How long? He wants to know!" -- so loud that the entire restaurant went silent and stared because of the scene he caused. It was absolutely humiliating! I got up to see what was happening, and suddenly the rest of the staff began apologizing to my husband, saying the man was wrong for speaking to him that way. However, the damage was already done. What made the experience even worse was that we noticed some Asian customers being treated noticeably better than we were, which left us feeling extremely uncomfortable and disrespected. Whether intentional or not, the difference in treatment was impossible to ignore. Making me feel like they did not like Americans! When we asked to speak to the owner, we were told "she's cooking", and that was the end of that. Between the frozen food, long wait, hostile attitude, public yelling, and complete lack of accountability, we will never return. No customer deserves to be treated this way. Save your money and embarrassment and go somewhere else where they know how to treat people correctly. read more

I am usually the last person to leave a negative review, let alone write one publicly, but the experience my family had at this restaurant was disappointing enough that I feel compelled to share it. I genuinely hope the management and owners take this feedback seriously and address these issues. We visited as a family of four -- two adults, a toddler, and an 8-month-old baby. From the moment we arrived, the treatment felt unwelcoming. The waitress was noticeably rude and seated us in the very back after seeing that we had a baby with us. When we requested a high chair, we were given one with a broken safety strap. When we politely asked for another, we were told the restaurant only had one high chair available. A family-friendly restaurant having only one high chair -- and that too in unsafe condition -- is unacceptable. Because of this, we struggled to feed our baby, who understandably became fussy. Instead of offering help or even basic courtesy, we felt judged and uncomfortable throughout the meal. No one checked on us properly or asked if we needed anything. The food itself was average, but the service and overall treatment completely overshadowed it. As a South Asian family, I genuinely felt there was bias in the way we were treated compared to others around us. That made the experience even more upsetting. My husband still chose to leave a tip despite the poor service, although honestly it was not deserved. I sincerely hope the management looks into both the customer service and the safety concerns regarding the broken high chair. Families with small children deserve to be treated with respect and provided with safe seating accommodations. read more

Decided to try this place last week after they took over Blue Orchid location. Glad our group of four did. Although there is next to zero ambience, the food is very good. We came again tonight and had the same thing, plus apps. We had for app the chicken wings, which were very crunchy and tasty and the fried pot stickers. Pot stickers were excellent. Entrees were pad thai with prawns, green curry with chicken, and cashew dish with pork, all with spice level 3 of 5. It's still pretty spicy in my opinion. Pad thai is my favorite. I was so excited to order the large wonton soup, I called ahead inquiring ...what the ingredients were in this soup, to my surprise, it only had sprouts, wonton, and a little bit of bok choy two pieces of shrimp. My wife and I have enjoyed eating Asian cuisine for well over 50 years. Unfortunately, the quality of this type of food has been terrible here in the desert -- until this restaurant opened last year. We were overwhelmed by the quality and did not mind paying the extra money knowing that we would have such an enjoyable meal. Everything changed a couple of months ago when they closed for a summer vacation for a month. When they reopened they had a new cook and the quality of his food was dismal at best. My favorite is Panang Chicken, And theirs was great until about a month ago. Now the chicken is dry and rubbery and the sauce that it is served in is thin and nearly tasteless.
