My brother and I were reluctant to try this place out because it's vegan because im not vegan and we were both happy to try out quality whole foods! Kelly was amazing in answering all my questions, she offered suggestions and even gave us samples of the zucchini almond soup of the day and the tooty fruity agua fresca of the day which were both so delicious! I was a bit confused about the separation of the dining room but I thought it gave the kitchen more character! One side is to order the food and do some shopping for their products and cute trinkets, while the other side was for dining. I'd recommend this place to anyone who is open to trying new foods!

I always swing by Chef Tanya's when I'm in Palm Springs. The place is just so cool to visit and feels like a tourist destination with all the merch and souvenirs on display. The T-shirt selection is fun to peruse through-- lots of different styles from funky to cute to eccentric. The sandwiches here are fantastic and usually my go-to orders! When you're craving meat, they really hit the spot. I would definitely recommend the imitation-pork based sandwiches in particular. None of the gamey stink or fat or gristle present in animal salami, but all of the spices and flavor. The bread is so fluffy and chewy too! I love the grab and go offerings as well. The Moroccan cauliflower is amazing (I usually add a handful of raisins at home and the combo is perfection...) and the vegan meatloaf tastes exactly how I remember meat meatloaf tastes. The African peanut soup is also really good. It's very thick but well-blended and smooth like a bisque. I like to add some beans at home for some extra protein. Overall, I'd highly recommend checking out Chef Tanya's Kitchen for fresh and flavorful cruelty free lunches!

    Delicious vegan Pastrami Mami $16

What a hidden gem of the beaten path. I'm not normally a fan of fake meats but I absolutely loved the pastrami mami ($16) - the sauerkraut and pickles were very tasty, and surprisingly the vegan deli meat as well. The rye bread was probably the best part, chewy, rustic and with a thick crust. Service was fantastic - order at counter, eat next door and they bring it to you. Would def recommend even for carnivores :)

Chef Tanya's is my favorite vegan food of ALL TIME! I first came here on a work trip a couple years ago, and i've made sure to stop here every time i'm back in the area. The menu is robust and each of the items i've had here has been off the charts good. My favorite item is by far the BLTA - bacon tofu, lettuce, avo, add crack cheese. You can't go wrong with anything here. Coming here the day of coachella, we also got to see one of the bands performing eating there, how you know it's good. My only gripe is the matcha was not that good, could've used a lot more matcha and less milk.

After eating heavy food for my past several meals, I needed a salad desperately. Quick yelp search gave me this vegan restaurant and after checking out the menu I decided it was right for me in that moment. It's in kind of a weird part of town, almost like a warehouse district. You go in and it looks at first like it's going to just be a take away place, but the guy working behind the counter told me that there was an empty storefront two businesses down That they had taken over as like a seating area. I got the taco salad and it was delicious! The chipotle ranch dressing had just the right amount of spice and it was super creamy. The salad was piled high with fresh greens, beans, some pickled cabbage and little tortilla strips. It definitely hit the spot. The meatless taco meat was really good. Only thing it was missing was a little bit of vegan cheese. This place is obviously really popular because the whole time I was there people were coming and going and every table had someone in the seating area. I went back in and got a Moroccan style cauliflower salad to bring back to my man. It looked really good and he finished it quite quickly! Ended up being more filling than we expected.

I looked up new places to try while on a short Palm Springs vacation. Chef Tanya's Kitchen came up as a choice with some recommended lunch options. I have to say Vegan is not at the top of my favorite foods. But, I will now add my very enthusiastic recommendation of the El Cubano sandwich, I also had the Agua fresca of the day (mango pineapple- so good!) And finish with the Lemon Drizzle cake bites. You will not be disappointed. I now have a new favorite desert lunch spot.

This is review mainly for the mistake of giving our food away by accident. Actually, it wasn't given away, but it was taken/stolen from an uBer Eats delivery person. We placed a large order in advanced online, ample of time for them to make. Upon arrival, our food was nowhere to be found. Apparently it was grabbed by someone else by mistake or on purpose. My question is, why does this establishment place their online and phone orders by the doorway? The orders are placed on a shelf by the door and food that have been sitting there can be taken by anyone. Supposedly, we were told that it wasn't the first time it's happened. That is has been happening lately that people have been grabbing food either by mistake or taking them. Why now are they doing anything about it? Why didn't they fix that issue when it happened the first time? This is the first time I've ever seen any food spot place togo orders by the door that way. I'm not sure if it's laziness or that's more efficient and quicker for them to get rid of the order. That's a huge problem right there. Anyone can take food by mistake or just plain steal them. This place is small. The staff should have delivery personnel come up to the register and ask for the orders. It's not that hard. All orders should be behind the counter. Apparently a delivery guy came in there and grabbed an order then proceeded to take our bag as well. It's a logistics issue that shouldn't even be a concern. They did fix the problem but we had to wait for them to remake everything all over again so we had to wait again. We the customers had to ask them to accommodate us and have them solve their problems. The staff are young people. They were nice about it but I suggest better service and be more attentive and quick. It was an $80+ order and the food was alright. Expensive and was mediocre. Need more flavor on most and the position could be better. Overall, they did fix the issue, but this place needs to do better.

We recently stopped for lunch at Chef Tanya's while traveling. What a find! The outside may not look like much as it's in a semi-industrial area near the airport, but don't let that fool you. The selection, the quality, and the service is great. I ordered the Modern Hippie Veggie without carrot on gluten-free bread, and my partner selected El Cubano. Both sandwiches were large with fresh, flavorful ingredients. We also split a gluten free peanut butter parfait that was delicious. Now that we've found Chef Tanya's, it will be a standard lunch stop when we travel I-10.

The place is off the beaten path in an industrial park. You walk in and there is a small market inside. You make your order and if you eating there you go to the dining area across a small street filled with patio furniture. I got the tempeh Caprese sandwich and my gf got the Guadalajara. Both were really good. The flavor wasn't strong but the bread was terrific. It was a potato bun. Service was great. I'd highly recommend.

Stopped by after exploring Joshua Tree and was very impressed! The tempeh was well cooked in my burger. The little storefront with vegan goodies is also wonderful and I had a delicious key lime pie parfait. If I'm ever back in this area I will definitely return.

Cute vegan cafe with delicious food. There's lots to pick from and everything looked so good. I got the chupacabra chik'n sandwich and hubby got the Guadalajara burger. We both really liked our food. I added some sriracha to mine and it was perfect. I like how thinly sliced the seitan was. We also got the agua Fresca and it was refreshing on a hot day! Staff was friendly and our food came out pretty quickly. This is a wonderful option for fresh and healthy food that's also flavorful. Vegan food done right!

Had to take a bite first! So good!

This place is outstanding! My friend and I tried their sandwhiches and were not dissapointed! I got the gluten free chickpea wrap which was absolutely worth the upcharge. Took home some dairyfree caramels that were to die for! I'll be coming back to buy more of those as christmas presents this year. Their homemade katsup and mayo were excellent on the fries. Matcha latte was ON POINT Tanya liked my photos of my cats too. That made me happy. She likes cats. So I like her.

Food was amazing. I got the Guadalajara burger and it looked so good I literally forgot to take a picture of it. The flavors were on point and it was cooked perfectly. The servers were great the whole time too--super friendly and checked in without being overbearing. And the ice cream? Rich, creamy, and the perfect way to finish everything off. Overall, just a solid experience. I'd definitely come back. Very nice vibe for family or friends to come and just chill in a market type of atmosphere.

Half of the Guadalajara Burger, look at the thick slice of tempeh!

    Is there gluten free options?

    Yes, many.

Do you have a breakdown of nutrients for the burger bun?

Dine in available or take out and delivery only?

Palm Springs location has very limited no inside dine in options, they have small outdoor tables of two or picnic tables. Palm desert has a little bit more flexibility with outdoor seating but still quite small

Do they have any oil free or SOS free options?

They do and they are also very accommodating to special requests. Great food, great people.

I have a soy & gluten allergy and I'm vegan. I know.. super annoying but I have too eat this way, do they have soy free & gluten free options?

    They definitely do.

What percentage of food you put out is certified organic? Vegan cuisine without being organic really defeats the purpose.

    I agree. I see they didn't answer

My question is regarding the peanut butter chocolate chip cookie I got as a dessert. It was hands down amazing. What's in it?? Besides obviously, Crack? LOL

    Heaven is in it.

Do you guys except Apple Pay?

    Yes!

Are there any soy free meat options besides chickpeas?

Yes we make housemade seitan and it is soy free. We also have salads without soy or chickpeas.

    Are pets welcome?

Well behaved service pets are always welcome! Our space is small and we don’t have an outdoor patio where non-service pets may dine with their guardians. In cooler weather people often sit curbside with their pets. We love animals.

Is everything on the menu vegan or just certain items?

Everything! All made from scratch too.

Is there gluten free bread available?

No but we can do organic romaine lettuce wrap!

Everyone here from the staff, waiter and waitress, and the owners are all very sweet and friendly. Menu is alway great. You have both the breakfast and brunch menu. We tend to come for them mainly but have never tried dinner here. Of course the bubbly is always a good start. A bottle with three juice options and fresh fruit for adornment. Strawberries and blueberries for the bougie bubbly effect. And for the price, it's worth it. Food wise, we went with the chicken sandwich with salad and the burger with fruit. A side of fries is definitely a must even if it comes with it. Portion for the sandwich was massive. Nice thick piece of grilled and marinaded chicken breast filled with lettuce, tomatoes, onion and avocados on toasted bread. It's massive even when they sliced it in halves. And the burger, two nice patties with lettuce, tomato, cheese, onion and bacon. A classic and it was delicious. I'm not a burger person but every now and then a bite is worth it. The lady at the door told us inside would probably be loud because there were two bigger tables in there. It was hot outside, so we decided to sit inside anyway. We almost immediately regretted that and wished we'd sat outside. This place is not made for being busy on the inside. It's just too loud. But, cute in there. Our server, who we later learned was the bartender and not a usual server, took our drink orders. A few of us ordered the Hugo spritz, one gal got a beer, and a few other cocktails were ordered. We got our drinks and they were enjoyable. The problem began when we were ordering food. One girl in our group is Celiac and literally can not eat gluten. She ordered the salmon and asked to be sure the potato salad was gluten free. If things are fried or prepared in the same place as gluten objects, she is incredibly ill for weeks afterwards. She has to be super careful. His response was, "I think so." She told him she was celiac and had a true gluten allergy, and she needed him to be sure. Meanwhile, the menu boasts about how they proudly serve gluten free options right on the bottom. He then said, "yeah, I'm pretty sure it is." He genuinely did not seem concerned. She ended up ordering it but felt uncomfortable about whether or not it was really safe for her. Another girl at the end of the table asked him to please double check, as it was really a serious allergy. He said, "Yeah I am going to ask the chef. I wasn't going to just ignore it and make all you girls mad." He had the snarkiest tone when he said it, and it was incredibly, incredibly rude. That right there gave us a bad taste in our mouths. He came back out and said he checked with the chef, and it was indeed gluten free. Food came out and all tasted good. But when a restaurant prides itself on gluten free options, and then makes it so hard to order, it's not a good look. We wouldn't be back.

I grew up with a second house in Palm Desert so we would frequent the other location often and it's always been a hit with me and my family. They are known for their very unique breakfast options as well as lunch. Service is always very friendly and fast and this location has a giant free parking lot attached and back. The restaurant itself is on the second floor. It has a full bar on one side and many different boost and tables on the other so I can host many different sized groups. For this visit, I started off with a Triple Berry Tart and really enjoyed it. Imagine a pop tart that's not quite as sweet but a little more cakey and that is it. It was a real nice treat for the meal. I followed up with Sky's the Limit, which is basically one of their larger breakfasts and a mix of everything. I would highly recommend. The eggs were cooked perfectly and everything about it just really hit the spot. I would highly recommend this place to anyone searching for a great brunch option.

Our server was very attentive to our table checking on us several times. We ordered the sloppy joe, and the avocado toast breakfast. We were there for breakfast and there was only one server - he was a hard worker. The environment is fairly large and simple. With the north facing wall being all window, it feels airy and open, you can see my inside and window view pics. We shared the Traditional Eggs Benedict and the Breakfast Bowl, see my pics. As you can see from my pics, the Traditional Eggs Benedict weren't quite up to par. The poached eggs were a bit under done. The hollandaise sauce was creamy but lacked the pinch of cayenne and a bit under flavored. The ham was ample but not so flavorful. There was a bed of spinach between the ham and English muffin. This was over cooked. The diced potatoes were nice and crunchy, but there wasn't any seasoning on them. On the other hand, the Breakfast Bowl was quite refreshing. My pic doesn't do justice to the freshness and variety of this bowl. The coconut milk was sweet and pared well with the fruit. The texture of the granola and coconut shaving nicely contrasted with the bananas and berries. Mixed through the coconut milk was the red quinoa which made the milk more substantial. This was a great way to eat healthy.
