Lots to look at decoration wise. The customer service was very nice. We were greeted immediately upon entering and said goodbye to while leaving. We all tried something. Different both days, but within the breakfast realm. And they do have a lot of delicious treats we bought both days to share. I'd definitely recommend here, just know you'll be there for a bit.

That customer actually touched the food before sending it back. The waiter returned it to the kitchen and minutes later that same plate was placed in front of me. The food was clearly not fresh. This is a grilled sandwich and it was completely cold. The cheese had melted at some point but was cold and set by the time it reached me. The piece of meat sticking out of the bread and hanging over the side of the plate was already discolored, like it had been sitting under a heat lamp or left out for an extended period of time. That alone tells you this plate had been sitting for a long time before it ever got to me. On top of that, that same piece of discolored meat had touched the surface of another customer's table, was taken back into the kitchen, and then came back out and placed in front of me. By the time it reached me it had made contact with multiple surfaces and been handled multiple times. When I pointed this out, the waiter offered to remake it and came back in under two minutes. I reminded him it took 40 minutes the first time, so this was clearly not a fresh remake. When I declined the food, he offered an alternative explanation. He said the plate had been accidentally delivered to the wrong table first and rather than making a fresh one they just redirected it to me. He seemed to think that was acceptable. It isn't. A customer touched that food, sent it back, and it was served to me anyway. That is a basic food safety and hygiene violation. No real apology, no accountability. Just excuses. Won't be coming back.

We arrived close to 1 in the afternoon. They open till 3 so we still had some time. Checked in with the hostess which for indoor seating it would be about 25 minutes or so for a table. They did have open tables available on the patio which that was the only option at the moment. Mind you even with the misters going on and the shade covering, I was sticking to my clothes. I do love the heat but, it was too hot and humid and kind of unbearable to enjoy a meal. Instead, went back inside to put our name down for a table inside. Luckily, there was an open one available which we were offered. Made a huge difference with the patio. It was the table by the door so whenever the door opened, you still felt the hot air. Anyways, beats eating outside. Norma was our waitress which she was amazing and very sweet. Friendly which is alway a plus anywhere you go. Menu, they have a good selection for breakfast as well as specialty plates for lunch. Sandwiches, salads and other amazing items. As it was Sunday brunch, I do love a good breakfast. We started off with some mimosas. They offer both the bottle or by the glass. Both selections you would need to add orange juice which is an additional fee. Last time we went with the bottle and a carafe of orange juice. Still decent for 25.00 and additional fee for the juice. But this time we opted for the glass which comes out to 10.00 and it comes with two refills. Additional 2.00 for the orange juice. So basically 3 glass for 10.00 which you can't beat. Food, the hangover omelette. I enjoyed it last time that it was ordered again. 3 egg omelette with ham, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, bell pepper, serrano peppers and topped with green onions, sour cream and cheddar cheese. That's come with your choice of toast and a side which their tots are alway good. Also a side order of pancakes, 1 piece. Then the steak caprese omelette. That was a first time trying it and it was great. 3 egg with cubes new your steak, fresh spinach, mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes, melted mozzarella and their house made pesto. Also comes with your choice of bread and a side. Went with the fruit which was blueberries, a couple of grapes and pineapple chunks. Not the prettiest selection but it'll do. Both omelette was tasty and plentiful. Their food was good and we enjoyed everything. Omelette was flavorful which is a plus. Also can't go wrong with the tater tots. Their other items looked amazing from all the dishes being brought out. Definitely need to try it next time. Plus you can't beat the mimosas deal for 10.00. Service was great and Norma took very good care of us. The place isn't that big. It's probably the same amount of seating inside and outside. Inside also has bar seating that looks into the kitchen. But with the heatwave that's going on. Kind of expected for the summer but outside seating could be a little uncomfortable even with the mister spraying. Our server took our food and drink order right away, but she never checked in on us after the drop off. I ordered the Irish iced coffee, looking forward to getting a nice treat drink. I ended up getting just a regular iced coffee, and unfortunately I had no chance to try and flag anyone down to get this sorted out since we were never checked on once the items were delivered. This includes the waters we ordered for the table as well. The only good thing about this was that I was only charged for an iced coffee. The eggs Benedict were simply "ok" and rather unremarkable. They arrived just above room temperature and while they weren't bad, they weren't great either. The sandwich was fine, but the home fries were over seasoned by far and had way too much salt. Overall, this was a disappointing brunch. Unless they really look into the quality of the food, the lack of table service, and their terrible side dining area by their outdoor AC, I can say we have no plans on returning.

Wow, what a lucky find!…read more We hosted our child's baptism reception at California Bistro today and I am beyond grateful for the experience. They were able to accommodate our group of 22 people easily, had no fuss about splitting our checks, and provided ABOVE and BEYOND service to us. Manager Tony felt like an old friend, going out of his way to assure us we would be well cared for (and following through on that promise 100%). Now let me tell you about the food because holy smokes it was amazing. I had the strawberry salad and added a salmon filet. I'm a self proclaimed salmon connoisseur and that filet may have very well been one of the best I've eaten. Also, the strawberries.... I'm not sure who their strawberry supplier is but it has to be some well kept secret because you cannot buy strawberries that fresh and sweet at a grocery store. The dressing was perfectly balanced in a way that complimented the entire plate, without overtaking it. Everyone else's dishes looked equality delicious. Even the coffee was peak quality. The best part of the entire meal was the bill. My husband had to study to receipt to make sure they correctly charged us because at first glance, the bill seemed WAY too cheap for our family of six! (Esp since our teenager ordered a massive steak!) But there was no mistake - we were simply given a fine dining experience at prices even a big family can afford. We cannot wait to go back ASAP!

When I asked mom how everything was, her response? "Everything was Perfect. The food was sooo good (she had the Shrimp & Papaya Salad) and everyone raved about their food. All the service couldn't be any better. And our waitress, Alma, was sooo great and sweet...and she went above & beyond." I can vouch for this because earlier in the day, I went over to California Bistro to check it out...and wanted to surprise mom, and prepay for her meal. I asked to meet Alma...and she was so was happy to see me, after explaining who I am and purpose of my visit. Alma wanted to show me the table they chose, that had already been setup for the bday festivities. Alma wanted to make sure I was okay with the table and setup...and if any of the guests had mobility issues getting in & out and around the beautiful table. I also met Adrian (manager) and Suzy (hostess) and want to thank them too for helping make Mom's Birthday such a wonderful and memorable experience.

The decor is incredibly welcoming and stylish, and the entire property is immaculate. It has that perfect blend of boutique charm and luxury that immediately makes you want to linger and explore. We enjoyed lunch at Chiquita, where the fully stocked bar and atmosphere almost transported us to Italy. The food was excellent, and the prices were surprisingly affordable--around $13 for high-quality dishes that clearly reflect a chef who takes pride in both the food and the overall dining experience. Our server, Rochelle, was kind, attentive, and made the experience even more enjoyable. We sat outside under beautiful olive trees, which created such a relaxing and picturesque setting. While walking around the property, we also noticed thoughtful amenities like chic white bikes for both adults and kids, lawn games, tennis, a pool table, and a well-appointed fitness room. Even though we couldn't stay overnight this time, visiting for lunch made us even more excited to come back and book a stay in the future. This place is a gem in Palm Springs.
