I have very strong memories of drinking watery soy lattes and this one was creamy and not diluted at all. If we are all very honest, everyone sort of uses the same syrups and milks but I just really enjoyed it all and want to give a small coffee shop its flowers. Ambiance: Small neighborhood cafe, good vibes! Service: Employees were all very nice and answered all of our questions. Any time I'm in Palm Springs, I make an effort to try new coffee shops so that I can ultimately pinpoint the one that I love most. Well, I was originally going to go to Café La Jefa, when I realized I have not tried Ernest coffee yet! So I decided to get an early start on the day and try their Matcha. I know that seems contradictory to go to a coffee shop and try their Matcha, but they did advertise a ceremonial grade which I thought was at least worth a try. When I walked in, there were several people sitting near the front of the house and a few on the patio. It's located on a corner with orange accents you can't miss. Truth be told, I was going to get a pistachio latte and break from my normal Matcha routine, but when I saw that they packaged their own ceremonial grade Matcha, I was intrigued and frankly delighted to see that. Although, I will say that people have been getting very loose with the term "ceremonial" because it is not regulated by the US, Japan, or anyone really. You can just dub something as ceremonial and call it a day and people who don't understand Matcha will feel like they walked away with a ceremonial grade quality Matcha. The gentleman who was working the register was very nice and walked me through some of their lattes and their Matcha. He was the one that pointed out that they use their own Matcha that the owner sources themselves. When I read "ceremonial," I instantly asked for a Matcha Americano with two pumps of simple syrup. When my order came out, it was the lightest green I've ever seen. I took one sip of it and it really was just water. The simple syrup didn't even pull through. A lady asked one of the baristas if they could make her latte hotter. From what I gathered, it was lukewarm at best. They offered to remake it for her with no arguments, which I thought was really nice because you really should leave with a drink you're happy with. I was taken back by the lightness of my Matcha and the shade of green that it was. Quality Matcha is bright, with a noticeable umami flavor. Since I saw this type customer service, I decided to ask if they could put more Matcha powder in my cup. Because it seemed like there was literally none. The barista was kind enough to accommodate me, but brought out a bottle that looked like simple syrup. I replied "Oh no, I don't want more simple syrup. I want more Matcha." The barista said "oh we pre-make our Matcha" and I was like wait, what? The Matcha is pre-mixed with water already. I have no idea the proportion that they use, but they poured about 2 teaspoons into my drink, and I asked for just a little bit more which they granted. When I walked away, the Matcha was still very light, and the green was, as I had suspected, not very bright and more of a fresh squeezed juice color. I will say the highlight is that I really appreciate the length of customer service to make sure that your drink is made how you want it. I am just disappointed that they don't use fresh Matcha when making the drinks. I have no idea how long that has been mixed or what the ratio was so that was really disappointing. Great coffee! The coffee shop itself is "vibey" if that makes sense lol. It's a good place to meet up with someone or just have a morning cup. My one downside is that I wanted a matcha and the barista complained that it would take her too long to make and suggested I order something else. Which I get it, it's a busy morning. And there were only 2 staff members on the floor. Maybe hire a 3rd for the morning rush? It wasn't her fault. Just understaffed that morning. I got a different latte instead, which was delicious and made well, but they might need more staff to help out for folks who do wanna order more complicated drinks in the future. read more

Stopped by this super cute little coffee shop in Palm Springs and absolutely loved the vibe. The space is charming and welcoming -- perfect spot to cool off and relax for a bit. The staff was incredibly kind and friendly, which always makes such a difference. The coffee itself wasn't quite my personal favorite. I ordered mine with oat milk and the flavor just wasn't for me, but that's totally a preference thing. My daughter enjoyed hers, so it may have just been my specific order. I stopped here on a hot day for some iced coffees and a hazelnut latte for my dad. It was surprisingly like a neighborhood spot I'd expect to find in a different place than right on Palm Canyon. The coffees were pretty good. The iced coffee was a bit on the bitter side but still quite nice. It looked like they use Stumptown beans This spot is probably a great bet for people who want a place to work or hang out for a more extended time. read more

After visiting the Tram Way in Palm Springs on a hot day, we were looking for a place with good drinks and comfortable seating to relax, and we found this little café. Ambiance: A small neighborhood café with a very pleasant and cozy atmosphere. Service: All the staff were friendly and happy to answer our questions, which made the experience more enjoyable. Drinks: The drinks were just okay; most of us couldn't even finish them, even though we were quite thirsty. Hours: We were surprised that they close early. We had hoped to relax and enjoy the café for a bit, but after ordering our drinks, we had to leave because they close at 3 PM something we didn't realize beforehand. Decided to go in and try their carrot cake latte after looking at their post on insta. It was my second time coming here. I was greeted by the barista right away and took my order, luckily no line (1 hour before closing). I ordered the carrot cake latte and they only had a whole wheat muffin left, so decided to try it. I got the latte right away, just a little disappointed it didnt look like the insta pic. I didnt know I had to order the cold foam on top extra, by looking at the pic and reading the caption it made it seem it came like that (I love me some cold foam). After our not so great matcha experience at Cartel Coffee we decided to try Ernest Coffee which several locals recommended. It turned out to be a great choice. I ordered a vanilla iced latte and my wife went with a vanilla matcha latte. Both drinks were exactly what we were hoping for. The matcha had a nice balance of milk and flavoring without any bitterness and my latte was smooth and just the right amount of sweet. Nothing over the top or wildly unique but both were well made and really satisfying. The shop itself is spacious and inviting with cool decor and plenty of seating for studying hanging out or even playing games. Service was a bit quiet and very quick with more of a straightforward next in line vibe but everyone got their drinks promptly and it did not affect the quality. Overall we were happy to finally find a spot in Palm Springs that serves a solid matcha and a reliable latte. Loved the Pistachio Rose Latte. The pistachio bits at the bottom was a nice textural surprise and the flavor was on point. It's unique, nutty, not overly floral and not too sweet. Ernest is filled with vibrant energy and it's a great spot for coffee! Every worker we interacted with was super friendly and engaging, especially the guy who took our order. He gave his personal recommendations and answered all our questions! Husband ordered the pistachio rose latte (hot with almond milk, as suggested), and I got an iced lavender vanilla latte with oat milk. The hot pistachio rose latte stood out in the best way. The dried rose petals on top really added to the fragrant aroma (definitely would not have noticed that much if the drink was iced), and the almond milk added a really pleasant, slightly nutty layer on top of the already tasty pistachio. Love a solid coffee shop! I enjoyed the variety of drinks that they offered from coffee to matcha drinks, so it felt very accommodating of people with different tastes. I ordered the lavender vanilla latte with less sweetness so there was less syrup pumps, and I enjoyed it overall. There's some seating indoors and outdoors so it also feels like a nice relaxing spot to hang out for a little bit. They're also quite fast with their orders as well, so we didn't have to wait too long to get our drinks. In terms of parking, I only saw street parking around this area, and I was lucky enough to find an open spot right away. Otherwise, I'm not sure how easy it is to find parking in the area. read more

There's a reason for my three stars on this place, it's not for the coffee because the coffee itself is good. I always get extra shots and split the pumps and believe me it's a decent cup of coffee. My reason for the negative stars is that i disputed charges from this place and even cancel my debit card thinking it was fraudulent activity. After checking my bank statements for a weekend away I noticed chargers for a bootlegger tiki, and I thought to myself I've never been here and someone got my information and is using it at a tiki bar, which I never visited. As I was getting ready to write this review, I noticed that someone else put in the comments they share a space with a bootlegger tiki bar well it would've been nice to know this because then wouldn't have had to cancel my debit card knowing that the charges were OK and not being used at a place called bootlegger Tiki. Watch out for this on your bank statement as you might make the same mistake as I did. read more

So happy we tried Ernest coffee! It was so good that we came back the next day. It's tough to find good coffee places in PS, but we decided to try Ernest based on the Yelp reviews. The service was friendly and quick, the lattes were perfect and we noticed that the syrups are all made in house. Lavender syrup was not overly floral. It was the perfect balance. A lot of other lavender lattes tend to taste too "lavendery" to where it tastes like soap, but not this one. Vanilla is our go to and it didn't disappoint. Strong espresso balanced with the in house vanilla was perfect. We were so tempted to come back in the afternoon for a matcha latte, but didn't get the chance to. Next time we're in PS, this will be our coffee spot to visit. read more

Stopped one morning while visiting Palm Springs. I luckily caught a little window where it wasn't busy when I got in, but there was a pretty long line by the time I got my order. The workers were very friendly and welcoming. They have indoor and outdoor seating, but I could see it getting a little loud inside if it was busy. The outdoor seating is great though when the weather is nice. I ordered a latte, which was quite good. They have so many homemade syrup options, which to me makes a huge difference in taste and quality if you like flavored drinks. This dog-friendly coffee shop is one of the few shops open at 6am in Palm Springs. I came to Ernest daily during my stay in the city. The customer service has been exceptional and the iced vanilla lattes were consistently delicious! There were several returning customers with their dogs who understood that the shop provides treats to the furry pets. It was nice seeing their owners get their treats (coffee) as they got their own. It hurts my heart to know their shop is not local to me. The coffee is rich and definitely got me through the week. Starbucks tastes extremely disappointing now that I am back home. AMAZING COFFEE. I found this spot a year ago. My family comes to Palm Springs for the 4th of July every year.I was so super excited to come back to this coffee shop to the point I called July 3rd to make sure they would be open the 4th. The coffee is rich smooth not over powering. I got the cinnamon pecan latte both hot and ice . Yes 2 , one for each hand. My family actually got our Airbnb in Indio so it was a 30min drive so worth it and I'll be doing the drive every day I'm out here . The only thing which was my own fault I got 2 12oz coffees I learned my lesson and I'll be getting 16oz tomorrow. The staff is super friendly welcoming and nice . The girl at the cash register even remembered me from a year ago. I saw her talking to her customers you can tell the regulars love it here and that's always a good sign.
