I had the chance to try this wonderful place out in Cathedral City, my friend has been sharing his breakfast burrito and coffee photos with me so I had to give them a try. I tried the Jalapeños popper smash burger. OMG this burger isn't nothing regular, it comes with Crispy edged smash patty, molten jalapeño popper cheese , their house bacon jam that was so amazing on a toasted bun, with a side of tater tots. The burger was amazing all the ingredients and flavors pairs perfectly. The decor was great as well and the customer service was a 10. I will be back soon to try the other dishes they have on the menu.

Small, out of the way coffee place with great desserts and Mexican breakfast and lunch specialties. The variety of coffee drinks is unique and inviting. My Mexican Mocha with Abuelita Chocolate was delicious. Olla-Chota with Horchata was good, and very sweet. People were friendly and helpful. Small but pleasant seating area inside.

Summary: Excellent Burrito but a little pricey. El Huevón Burrito: 9.3/10 this was dare I say one of the best breakfast burritos I've had. The thick cut bacon was crispy yet chewy. The chorizo was fatty and a little spicy and the potato soaked up all those flavors. There was also a cheese skirt on the inside of the burrito that added such a nice texture. The salsa was also gasolina! Spicy, acidic very tasty. I just wish it were bigger for $11

Breakfast sandwich Bean burrito Smash Burger Beef tallow fried tots . This place shares a parking lot with a strip club and weed store so pull the trifecta visit all three. I'll let you on decide the order to visit. Breakfast sandwich will live rent free in my mind for a long time.

So I went to this little place on my lunch. It's small. They share the business with the tamales spot. They were very nice. Two ladies and a gentleman were there. We ordered the 24 ounce Dulce de Calavera iced coffee latte excellent! I also ordered the Birriaquiles, they were out of carne asada, so my husband ordered El huevon burrito... so the Birriaquiles were smashed in a container, they tasted ok but I couldn't see what I was eating. I'm all about presentation and I like to see what I'm eating my husband's burrito with tasty but very small for the price, I would probably go back just for the coffees; and maybe if they got bigger containers, I try something else to eat , so you could see what you're eating‍

Chilaquiles were so good and filling! Great portion size!

Anytime I'm in the Palm Springs/Cathedral City area, I make it a point to stop by Cafecito Calaveras--even if it's just for one birria burrito or a quick matcha fix. They've never disappointed me, and of all places, you wouldn't expect to find this gem of a hole-in-the-wall! Really authentic food, great staff, and delicious drinks. Highly recommend!

So glad I found this hole in the wall coffee shop!! Staff were super friendly, drinks were absolutely delicious, and the food looked amazing! You'd miss this location if you weren't looking for it. Absolutely recommend stopping in for some specialty lattes. They also offer homemade Mexican burritos, dine in or take out.

Delicious drinks and my favorite quesabirria tacos are found here. I recommend la galleta latte (cookie butter) or the tres noches (hazelnut and dark chocolate).

Latin roots Family owned small business. Great customer service. Our burritos were very good. The fillings were amazing and the salsa's are perfection! Banana matcha was smooth and not so sweet, if you don't have a big sweet tooth I think it's perfect. Vibes are unmatched. Definitely will be back again.

Tried this place out for the first time. It was ok. The service was nice. The restaurant is very small and cramped but clean. Restroom was clean. The food was so so. The burritos were ok. Not much flavor. Chilaquiles were way too spicy to enjoy. Coffees were good.

It was close to end of day so I was quick to browse the offerings before placing my sandwich order. Ended up getting a Caprese and Parma on focaccia. The staff seemed preoccupied with Cleaning but did their best to get my sandwich order out fast. I've heard nothing but good things about this place but this is my first time. I asked the lady behind the counter for a popular favorite recommendation and she seemed confused and just said everything was good. Two sandwiches around $40 so I was hoping for something great. Unfortunately we agreed that the taste was good, but nothing amazing and probably not what we were expecting for the price. Everything fell just a little bit flat. It wasn't bad but it wasn't memorable either. I ended up drizzling balsamic vinegar on the Caprese at home since they only put olive oil and a little bit of pesto on the bread and the whole thing just felt lacking ever so slightly. The shop itself was clean and well kept and had a lot to offer so I still recommend stopping by and browsing for Italian goodies. Just not my favorite sandwich spot. Maybe we will try something else another day or just stick to the pasta!

We placed a large order in advanced online, ample of time for them to make. Upon arrival, our food was nowhere to be found. Apparently it was grabbed by someone else by mistake or on purpose. My question is, why does this establishment place their online and phone orders by the doorway? The orders are placed on a shelf by the door and food that have been sitting there can be taken by anyone. Supposedly, we were told that it wasn't the first time it's happened. That is has been happening lately that people have been grabbing food either by mistake or taking them. Why now are they doing anything about it? Why didn't they fix that issue when it happened the first time? This is the first time I've ever seen any food spot place togo orders by the door that way. I'm not sure if it's laziness or that's more efficient and quicker for them to get rid of the order. That's a huge problem right there. Anyone can take food by mistake or just plain steal them. This place is small. The staff should have delivery personnel come up to the register and ask for the orders. It's not that hard. All orders should be behind the counter. Apparently a delivery guy came in there and grabbed an order then proceeded to take our bag as well. It's a logistics issue that shouldn't even be a concern. They did fix the problem but we had to wait for them to remake everything all over again so we had to wait again. We the customers had to ask them to accommodate us and have them solve their problems. The staff are young people. They were nice about it but I suggest better service and be more attentive and quick. It was an $80+ order and the food was alright. Expensive and was mediocre. Need more flavor on most and the position could be better. Overall, they did fix the issue, but this place needs to do better.

The new location on Date Palm and Gerald Ford location is a hidden gem and the inside is very welcoming. If you've been to the Philippines, the setting is similar. As a Filipino American born, I'm impressed with the "Escape to Manila meets with High Tech Bay Area" settings. You still have the Cafeteria style settings, which is the staple style restaurant, you normally see in the Philippines. Restrooms are very clean and packed with amenities. I'm ecstatic with the place and that's an awesome improvement than the last location. Service, make no mistake, you will feel at home more you're in a restaurant. The cashier is very helpful and understanding. She suggested an $11.00 plate deal, with Pancit and a choice between a 1 piece leg or thigh fried chicken piece or 4 lumpia Shanghai. I opted with the chicken and I ordered lumpia and type price of $16.00 I spent is worth it. Food is amazing and fulfilling. If you're looking for a Fried Chicken other than the Commercialize like KFC, Popeyes and even Jollibee's, Apong's Fried Chicken has the various herbs and spices and it's not salty nor bland. The texture of panko instead of flour makes the texture perfect and it orchestrates the taste with it. Pancit or Filipino pan fried noodles, similar to the Chinese Chow Mein, is a must try. Ube Cake and Ube Ice Cream is a new trend and the rave of delicious is skyrocketing with the general audience. With a recent expansion to their space in Cathedral City, this location has become a gathering place for Filipinos in the Coachella Valley area. Thus we went out of our way to find this place for dinner. I found it to be mixed, and can't really recommend their food. It's a nice space inside, with a fast casual setup (order and pay first, and the food is brought to you when ready). It wasn't particularly friendly when we first arrived to the empty restaurant, but it got better as we ordered and ate. Cheesesteak Philly Style ($15.99) and Apong's Special Philly Style ($16.99). They come with fries, with an upcharge of $1 for cheese. Both had grilled mushrooms and onions mixed with the chopped steak. The Apong's special adds both cheese whiz and american cheese to the standard provolone. Both are served on Amoroso rolls from Philadelphia, which is genuine, but not particularly fresh when brought in daily. (the rolls tasted a bit stale to me). The amount of meat given could induce a hungry person to order a double portion as well, though it was just right this day. I definitely like my cheese steak with cheese whiz, and this version confirmed that (though if not offered, a good dallop of mayo is good as well, mixed with the melted provolone). Strangely, the showstring fries were the most disappointing part of the meal for me...fries can be good if the right effort is made, but that wasn't the case here. They had been deep fried a while before, and had been sitting in a warmer until served to us...thus were dried out and pretty flavorless. With what we ordered, a new batch of freshly made fries would have gone a long way to put us in a good mood, especially for dine-in. Chicken Mami Soup ($14.99) - a large bowl of chicken soup. For this price, would have hoped for something more homemade. The broth was fine, but seemed to be made from either canned chicken broth (benefit of doubt) or more likely chicken powder. Also used dried spaghetti noodles, which is not something I seek out. It did have pieces of white meat (breast) and fresh chopped vegetables like cabbage and carrots. Tasted fine, but wasn't particularly hearty. Reminded me very much of saiman, except for the price. Halo-Halo ($14.99) - it was good. Few beans (which is often used as filler), but instead large pieces of sweet plantains. It also had plenty of condensed milk and two large scoops of ice cream (both ube and vanilla). Used crushed ice, instead of shaved, which does make a big difference in consistency, but understand it's harder to do since time consuming. Apong means grandmother in Ilicano, which is the third most spoken native language in the Philippines, after Tagalog and Cebuano. The owners and workers seemed to be originally from that region; and it's really nice to use such a nice term of endearment for their endeavor.
