    Special bahn mi!
    Will M.

Excellent friendly service and delicious authentic Vietnamese food! The bahn mi sandwich was on a fresh, soft and crisp baguette with a perfect medley of savory meats, pate and fresh crisp veggies. The bun bu ho is not too spicy and the broth is rich and deep. The bun - dry rice vermicelli noodle dish had very flavorful grilled meat and shrimp with fresh and crisp veggies and a wonderful sweet and tart fish sauce. One of our favorite spots! We had to wait about 8-10 minutes for a table this Friday night as the place was full at 6:45pm, but the wait staff is friendly, attentive and efficient. Such a great place.

I ordered the bun Bo hue and it was delicious! My spice tolerance is on the lower end but this spice was perfect to get my mouth tingly and the broth tasted clear and flavorful. They also offer chili oil as well if you want to increase the spice. The servers were all nice, gave us updates, and even offered to take our group photo. We came in on Labor Day and it was a diverse room of customers which I'd like to say is a good sign! Definitely will visit again.

This was my first time having pho and it was absolutely amazing. I got the short rib and beef filet pho and the broth was delicious and the atmosphere was homey. Absolutely great service will come again.

Being here for the first time, and this restaurant did not disappoint! We ordered the beef combo pho, a grilled pork chop with bone-in served with broken rice, and stir-fried chicken with lemongrass over white rice. All dishes are delicious. Prices are reasonable, averaging $16-19. The service is very friendly too. It has a very typical Vietnamese noodle house vibe and feels like a genuine family-run business.

I decided to stop here for dinner. Grabbed Vermicelli Noodles with grilled pork. Food was good and standard to all other Vietnamese restaurant. Meat was tasty and delicious. I got takeout and it only took 10 mins for my food to be ready. Service was fast. The place is your normal Vietnamese restaurant size. Not too big not too little. Feels relaxing to eat at if I were to eat there. The ambiance was fine

Was exactly what we needed on a cold winter day. The chrysanthemum tea was so delicious not too sweet and super cozy. My niece got the Bún Heo Hoặc Gà Nướng with grilled chicken, cabbage and peanuts. She thought it was pretty tasty. I got the Phở Nam regular size and it was a pretty hefty portion. I probably could have gotten the small and been very satisfied. Overall the service was quick to get the food. Wasn't as quick to wrap up which was nice, we didn't feel rushed out. Will definitely be back soon

Smallish Vietnamese restaurant that legit had some of the best Phở Gà I've ever tasted. Saw some reviews of this place on Yelp and put it on the list of spots we needed to eat at during our trip to Charlotte. Generally speaking, when you pop into a Vietnamese joint and all the customers are Vietnamese, the food should be pretty damn good. That was definitely the case here. And for the record, I'm Vietnamese. Service was fast and friendly (conversely, up in northeast USA, the more terse the service, the better the food, and the friendlier the service, the less better the food). The Cà Phê Sữa Ðá was standard fare, as were the Gỏi Cuốn and Chả Giò The standouts were the Phở Gà (what I ordered) and Phở Tái (what my GF ordered). The broth was deep and flavorful and you could tell it was made with love...everything phở broth should be. If you love Vietnamese cuisine and are in Charlotte, Pho Van should be on your list of places to go. Will definitely be back the next time we are in Charlotte.

    #55 Shrimp Fried Rice
    Ian N.

#55 Shrimp Fried Rice (3/5): Very mediocre fried rice. It didn't have enough flavor or oiliness. #24 Pho (3/5): All pho basically tastes the same to me, but I didn't like how much cilantro was in this. Crab Rangoon (3/5): Almost no cream cheese. Basically a fried wonton filled with shredded imitation crab. Very strange. #2 Summer Rolls (2/5): WAY too much mint. It completely overpowered everything. The peanut sauce was pretty good though. RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Need to get this again) 4 - Good (Would get this again) 3 - Ok (Might give this another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this)

Be sure to try their homemade chili sauce on the table .... It's among the best I've ever had! I think I used half the jar!!! This place is awesome!

    Pho brisket + extra veggies!!

Pho for me is a great comfort food especially on a cold or rainy day. Recently on a bleak rainy evening I found myself craving it, and after doing online research I found myself at Pho Van. Many people regarded this as the best place to get pho and I can see where they are coming from, it is delicious! The restaurant is small and cozy, when you walk in you are welcome to take a seat wherever you like and they will bring you water and a menu. I decided on their combo pho because I can never decide between the meatballs or brisket so why not both. The bowl had generous portions of noodles and meat and the broth was delectable. It's hard for me to say if it is the best pho in charlotte, as there are a lot of places I haven't tried, and some that I tried many years ago, but I can say that it is the best I've had in recent memory!

Ask the Community - Pho Van

Do they any pho or soups that are not beef or pork, like any veggie or chicken based soups?

Yes. They have vegetarian and chicken dishes. For instance, on the menu if it says Pho Ga, it's chicken Pho.

We started with a "make your own spring roll," and our waitress took such joy in showing us the proper way to handle the rice paper and make the perfect roll. It made the experience so much fun! Then came our main meal -- a shrimp and chicken dish that was absolutely delicious. I honestly wished I could finish it because it was SO good, but there was so much food! And just when we thought the experience couldn't get any better, the owner (manager? I'm not sure!) came over with three small glasses and some red wine. She poured us each a glass, poured one for herself, gave us a Vietnamese "cheers," thanked us for coming in, and went on her way. It was such a simple, genuine gesture, but it made the whole experience. We honestly felt like family. **Amazing food, wonderful people, and definitely going into our monthly rotation!!**

WARNING for potential customers:…read more So, me and my aunt came across this restaurant online seeing that they accommodate for gluten allergy with rice noodles in their pho. We drove to the restaurant and they were closed from 4pm-5pm (we arrived right at 5pm) I'm assuming this was a break for employees seeing as their hours are 10am-9pm. We we parked directly in front of the door watching employees come in for work. One of them had taken the "closed" sign off the door showing that they were now opening. This man in the photo proceeded to light a cigarette inside the restaurant closing and opening the front door to blow the smoke outside. We immediately left, because why would we want to eat or even walk into this place while this man was smoking inside the restaurant. Who would want to step inside this restaurant knowing that someone is smoking a cigarette inside this restaurant. The other employees in the dining room were watching this man smoke without a care. Imagine walking inside and immediately smelling cigarettes. If this man is allowed to smoke a cigarette inside their establishment, what else could they be doing inside that is not within restaurant cleanliness. Do what you'd like with this information but I thought it would be important to share this with others who are wanting to try this place.

Crispy, well seasoned. The beef stir fry not so much. Although it was flavorful, the beef was super tough. It was sliced thin and was a weird gray color. They should have used a different cut. I switched it out for grilled chicken and rice. Much better. The Thai tea was yummy - not yoo sweet - but the boba weren't cooked / they were hard in the middle. I probably wouldn't return.

Dinner at Saigon Palace with friends is always a good idea…read more This was one of those nights where the table just kept filling up with dishes and everyone shared everything family-style. Summer rolls, quail, noodle dishes, pho, and of course the beef and broccoli that I am constantly telling people to order. Once again, it delivered. Tender beef, great flavor, huge portion, and everybody at the table immediately understood why I keep talking about it. This is the kind of restaurant that works best when you order a bunch of dishes and let everyone try a little of everything tapas-style. The portions are generous and very shareable. The staff here is also genuinely helpful. They made recommendations for our table, checked in often, and kept everything moving smoothly even with a larger group. Another underrated bonus is the parking. They have their own lot, which in Charlotte honestly deserves appreciation all by itself. Easy access too, especially if you are coming from the freeway or busy parts of town. If you love Vietnamese food, this place is absolutely worth adding to your regular rotation.
