Stopped in for some pho - always a necessary feelgood comfort food, in my opinion - and some bun bo hue. We're used to great Vietnamese and pho -- this one was easily the best we've had in Charlotte. Quantities were generous, and the taste was perfect. Spring rolls were fabulous. Asked if they had bahn mi's and was told that they did not. However, was informed that if I called in ahead of time they could figure it out. Very much appreciated that service. Pho Quynh is in east Charlotte, plenty of parking in their lot available. Really great pho place!! My favorite recently shut down and this was highly rated, so I decided to give it a try. It has quickly topped the ranks! It's really the only place I'll go to because the flavor of their broth is so tasty and they give a generous portion, plus no shortage of toppings. There's plenty of seating inside the restaurant, so you can eat in or get takeout. Takeout has never taken more than 10 minutes for me to pick up, so they are on it! Keep that in mind when ordered. One of my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in CLT. Their noodle soups (pho and BBH) are the best in CLT. Tasty and savory! Always good for when you're feeling something warm and yummy. Service is fast but they do get more busy during Saturday and Sunday lunch rush. Their ambiance is chill. Sometime you will hear music sometime you won't and it will be quiet. My father in law ordered the #16, my husband ordered the pho combination beef and I ordered the house special tamarind with shrimp. Everything was absolutely delicious-- wonderful depth of flavor. My only complaint would be that the shrimp wasn't deveined enough for my personal preference. The staff was so nice and quick with our order. I loved it! The bun bo hue was so flavorful and simple at the same time. It was like comfort food. Even though it was scorching hot outside this noodle soup was worth it! The wings were so good and crispy. I was tempted to order sticky rice and papaya salad. The Pho was not that good. Broth was too sweet and lacking that beefy taste. I asked for Nuoc Beo (the fatty liquid that usually floats on the top during the broth preparation process) and the older gentleman said they've already included it in my bowl of pho. I know this is a lie because if the fatty liquid was added, the broth in my bowl would have that shiny glistening surface, which clearly it did not. I hate being lied to. A nice mom-and-pop restaurant with a good variety of popular Vietnamese dishes on the menu. I ordered the special pho in a medium. I felt like it was the perfect size for the average Pho eater. The first few bites were good but it just got bland after a while. The meat was okay, nothing memorable. The taste of the tripe was too gamey for my liking. One of the my favorite pho restaurant here in the CLT area. Their pho is extremely flavorful, with a lot of meats and noodles. Their Bun Bo Hue is my go to, as the different meat cuts are tender and very aromatic. You can't go to a Vietnamese restaurant and not get spring rolls; their fresh spring roll is sooooo good. That sweet pork that they put in their spring roll, along with the crunch wrapper is the middle just brings everything together. My friends and I usually go to Pho Quynh on Sunday therefore they're always packed, so make sure to go early for good seating. After an all day/night St Paddy's day bar crawl, I woke up hung over and craving a bowl of pho. I lay in bed a couple more hours recovering and researching where to get the best bowl of pho. This is the first pho place I've tried in Charlotte so I can't say whether it's the best. It's pretty good/ok but not the best I've ever had, and definitely not as good as my mom's. I ordered a small bowl of pho thai ($7.99). I wanted a Vietnamese iced coffee ($3.99) also but they pre-make it and I prefer when they bring the drip thing out to the table. The flavor of the broth was ok. There was a good amount of noodles and meat and the vegetables they brought out were very fresh. The restaurant is clean, there's plenty of parking, the service is good, the food came out pretty quickly, and I saw lots of Vietnamese people coming in to eat as well as picking up to-go orders. While there seems to be a relatively high turnover at this location, every one that has been housed here has been THE best, from Ben Thanh up to the now stellar Pho Quynh and the ones in between. While everything Ive had on the menu is good, do yourself a favor and venture away from the usual pho order and try something different.It is where PQ truly shines. The caramelized fish is exquisite, bursting with umami flavor with pops of ginger and scallion, the perfect salty match to white rice. The beef stew, another menu gem, hits more like a soup but has a surprising depth of flavor. The beef is so tender and succulent and when they offer you rice or baguette, GET THE BREAD. Trust me, you will want a way to sop up all the broth. The yellow pancakes are in top form here. You taste the essence of the coconut oil that they are fried in which is a unique and genius touch. You know, before I move to America, I used to watch comedy by Hoai Linh - Chi Tai which recorded and performed in America. At that time, I had no idea how America was like. I think It almost as close as one of our family favorited Phở breakfast spots in Viet Nam. So look, I have in my years had very many Pho's and asian foods from my travels in the US NAVY. The pho at this place is amazing, I recommend you order the combination Pho in Medium Size. Has everything you want. I was finishing up my meal and a gentleman sat down and he was Vietnamese had moved here from San Francisco and asked have you been next door at this other Pho place he said no, what he did say is since I moved here to Charlotte I have been to 20 other places and this is my favorite. Mine too if you have a good thing why change? My only thing that keeps me from a 5 star review is the 90% rating. If a place has been open a while and you get inspected I don't know how many times over a year but you should learn from it and I don't know how any restaurant gets under 95% after a few inspections.
