I was confused about the entrance so I called the number on their website several times only to learn that they don't really have a phone. Although, the place smelled like rotten bananas I was greeted by a lovely young lady. She made a delicious smoothie bowl for me. I really enjoyed my bowl. This is the only place where I would order a 32 oz smoothie. The smoothies are fresh and exactly what they say they are! I'm hooked on the cinco de berry. Service was great! The employee was super friendly and helpful, asked how ginger-y I wanted it, asked if i wanted mix of coconut water and apple juice or just one or the other. I have been dying to try this place for a while and was in the area today so I was excited to stop in! I am not sure what if I was 100% prepared for this place. First I will start off by saying the staff was very friendly!!! That was the biggest positive I can give for this place. Overall it was not super clean, product everywhere etc. if you are expecting fresh fruit and bright fresh açaí bowls I hate to say it... but this ain't it. Everything seemed to be canned or in some sort or large container... all of the açaí bases were frozen and iced over. I had the pineapple bowl which was okay... again nothing that really wowed me. The base of my bowl was ice cold with ice crystals and tasted like it was made a few days ago (may not have been but just in my opinion). I just feel like this place is missing the mark. Also is a weird combination for a Delta 8/ CBD shop combo as well which I was not aware of prior which also may have blurred my feelings of this place. I just wish it was cleaner and that the fruits used were fresh and not bulk canned items.... Nothing screams fresh food like giant Great Value Apple juice cans when you walk in.... I'm not much of a smoothie drinker, but I really enjoyed my smoothie from Smooth Monkey. Its a little pricey, around $10 for a 16 oz smoothie, but tastes great. I wasn't sure which flavor I wanted, so they let me combine some flavors and taste it before I bought it to see if I liked it. They use frozen fruit so it doesn't water down the drink with ice. This is a takeout spot for smoothies and açaí bowls. The gentlemen working were very friendly. They offered samples after I stated I was a first timer. This place has different flavors of the day. There was unique monkey artwork displayed inside. But overall the food... I ordered a pineapple açaí bowl. My bowl rated a 10/10. In the heart of my favorite neighborhood in Charlotte... Plaza Midwood. Very busy neighborhood so tight parking lot. The interior gives off very 80s vibes and it's a cool place to sit relax and listen to music. The acai and smoothies are made out of fresh fruit and ingredients. I stopped by Smooth Monkey before I left Charlotte. By the end of my bowl I was sad that I waited! It was so freakin good! The place is decorated in cool paintings and drawings of you guessed it, monkeys. The açaí bases were so good I couldn't decide between the mango and the one with watermelon so the guy suggested we do both. It was the best decision! They also made helpful suggestions because on what I like and did not like. They were very friendly to everyone that walked in, old or new customers. There was not much indoor seating but many people took their items with them. There are some outdoor seating but it was a cold day to sit outside. Smoothies and Acai bowls are pretty good. They give you the chance to taste your s.oothie or acai base before packing it up just in case you want to add or change something. Everyone has always been super friendly when we have been here. The owner is a cool funny guy that will definitely have you laughing. The vibes are nice, no where to sit inside but they do have outside seating for when it gets warmer. I believe they also sell honey and vapes as well. The store is covered in cool artwork and upbeat music always playing. Would definitely recommend trying them out! read more

Support this amazing local business! Not only do they make amazing smoothies, but the owner is an amazing person as well! I love going to this spot when I feel like I haven't gotten my fair share of veggies. They make two different amazing green smoothies, but they don't taste like puréed veggies. I have three different smoothies here, and each time, I have trouble trying something new or getting my usual staple. What I love about this place is that they don't use ice. You pick your liquid (I usually go with coconut water) and then it's just your liquid base and frozen fruits/veggies. That's it. So you know you're getting all the nutrients without it being weighed down by ice. They also freeze their fruits and veggies right away, so it saves those nutrients as well. If you're in the area, be sure to stop in Smooth Monkey...you won't regret it. read more

Ooooh now this place is the shit!!! I'm a sucker for anything Plaza Midwood. I "discovered" smooth monkey a couple of months back and have been OBSESSED ever since. I love how eclectic and funky the inside of the shop is. The guys that work there are SO much fun! Like you can just tell that they like to enjoy themselves which is so great if you're having a great or not so great day. I love their açaí bowls, I believe they have 3 flavors that they always have and then 1 that they rotate through. One time they had a watermelon mango flavored açaí and it was to DIE for! The fruit is fresh and their smoothies are also really really good. You can get a discount on smoothies if you bring your own cup. read more

Youthful glow green subbed almond milk & added mango & chlorophyll. That was two months ago I wrote that sentence. I've gone back at least three times afterwards to see if they deserved this five star & THEY DO! I forgot the name of the banana smoothie but i had that one twice. I love all the add ons they offer & since trying chlorophyll from them the first time I made it a daily part of my diet. The guy behind the counter was cool & knowledgable. I always enjoy my smoothie from Smooth Monkey! The service is always fast and friendly. They even have video games in there for you to play. It's a great neighborhood feel when you walk in. Parking is easy, considering the area and it's never too busy. I'm usually in and out very quickly. I've tried their açaí bowl as well and enjoyed it. DO NOT waste your time! The açaí base was pretty much frozen the whole way through , which was not enjoyable at all because you would have big blocks of the frozen ice cubes like. Also, instead of getting whole, fresh pineapples they give you the canned pineapples again which is not enjoyable at all. The açaí bowl is so basic and bare I would not recommend this place at all. I ended up adding my on extra toppings (honey and flaxseeds) to put a little razzle dazzle with it. 0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND it is not worth it for your taste buds, time or money!! A WASTE! read more

They have a lot of products from CBD, to vitamins, essential oils, and natural beauty products. They also have a lot of food items like organic snacks, juices, soups, and many more. What brings me back though is their little kitchen where they whip up smoothies, wraps, salads, and some delicious veggie burgers. They offer spicy black bean burgers, and most recently I tried a soy blend burger made with various nuts and other ingredients. These aren't the type of veggie burgers that try to mirror regular burgers, they have their own unique textures and tastes. Originally it was a bit out of my comfort zone as an avid meat lover but I love to try new things and I have to say they are quite delicious. As I start to learn more about ways to improve my health I wouldn't be surprised if I start to come in more regularly. I highly recommend coming in to browse. Even if it doesn't seem like your cup of tea, you're likely to be surprised by how many awesome things they have for sale! It also helps that the employees are super friendly and they usually play great tunes!

They were as dense and unappealing as the mini biscuits. The chicken itself was fine. If I was only rating the chicken I'd probably give it a 3.5. The best dish was actually the "GOAT."
