This place was definitely a unique experience--there were monkeys everywhere, which made it really interesting and fun to be in! Service was fast, and the portions for the toppings were generous. My smoothie bowl was more on the frozen slushie side, which wasn't really my favorite texture, but still refreshing overall. Worth checking out if you're in the mood for something different!

Service was great! The employee was super friendly and helpful, asked how ginger-y I wanted it, asked if i wanted mix of coconut water and apple juice or just one or the other. Asked if i wanted onion to make it sweeter. Smoothie was super yummy!! All blended and no chunks the painting in there were too cute. Def a stop in Charlotte you can't miss.

The fruit bowl was good the added coconut was a great addition. But, the addition of peanut butter was a mistake for me. I ordered the small it was a good size

I have been dying to try this place for a while and was in the area today so I was excited to stop in! I am not sure what if I was 100% prepared for this place. First I will start off by saying the staff was very friendly!!! That was the biggest positive I can give for this place. Overall it was not super clean, product everywhere etc. if you are expecting fresh fruit and bright fresh açaí bowls I hate to say it... but this ain't it. Everything seemed to be canned or in some sort or large container... all of the açaí bases were frozen and iced over. I had the pineapple bowl which was okay... again nothing that really wowed me. The base of my bowl was ice cold with ice crystals and tasted like it was made a few days ago (may not have been but just in my opinion). I just feel like this place is missing the mark. Also is a weird combination for a Delta 8/ CBD shop combo as well which I was not aware of prior which also may have blurred my feelings of this place. I just wish it was cleaner and that the fruits used were fresh and not bulk canned items.... Nothing screams fresh food like giant Great Value Apple juice cans when you walk in.... But as always go try it for yourself!

I'm not much of a smoothie drinker, but I really enjoyed my smoothie from Smooth Monkey. Its a little pricey, around $10 for a 16 oz smoothie, but tastes great. I wasn't sure which flavor I wanted, so they let me combine some flavors and taste it before I bought it to see if I liked it. They use frozen fruit so it doesn't water down the drink with ice. If you bring your own cup, it's 10% off!

I've been here a few times and each time they have delivered! The guy making our bowls had so much personality and was super friendly! He customized our bowls and they were stacked!! Also found it cool that they sell their açaí! I make a lot of bowls at home so I'd love to support them versus buying the one in the grocery store!

This is a takeout spot for smoothies and açaí bowls. The gentlemen working were very friendly. They offered samples after I stated I was a first timer. This place has different flavors of the day. There was unique monkey artwork displayed inside. But overall the food... I ordered a pineapple açaí bowl. My bowl rated a 10/10. If any single blueberry wasn't fresh the gentleman tossed it instead of adding to my bowl. I'm adding this one to the regular rotation.

In the heart of my favorite neighborhood in Charlotte... Plaza Midwood. Very busy neighborhood so tight parking lot. The interior gives off very 80s vibes and it's a cool place to sit relax and listen to music. The acai and smoothies are made out of fresh fruit and ingredients. There are many different bases to choose from and they do not skimp out. A small is enough for me. There are plenty of menu options. The staff is super nice, welcoming and cool to talk to. Great alternate for a healthy snack or for breakfast. This place is definitely worth a visit!

On this very day I was in the mood for a good smoothie bowl . I may have just found heaven in a bowl. I ordered the Berry Berry Bowl- Açaí blended with strawberries & banana topped with granola, strawberry, blackberry, blueberry, raspberry & hemp seeds . I know sounds like a lot right ? It was just enough and did the job . I sat outside and monkied around with all the cute little monkey paintings on the outside of the building . I'm coming back soon to check out the smoothies .

I stopped by Smooth Monkey before I left Charlotte. By the end of my bowl I was sad that I waited! It was so freakin good! The place is decorated in cool paintings and drawings of you guessed it, monkeys. The açaí bases were so good I couldn't decide between the mango and the one with watermelon so the guy suggested we do both. It was the best decision! I called myself getting a small taste before pulling off to leave and I ended up eating the whole bowl in the parking lot!

Had a great time here. The customer service was great and helpful being my first time. They asked and provided me samples of items I was interested in trying. They also made helpful suggestions because on what I like and did not like. They were very friendly to everyone that walked in, old or new customers. There was not much indoor seating but many people took their items with them. There are some outdoor seating but it was a cold day to sit outside. I order the Mango Açaí Bowl with addition peanut butter. The added peanut butter was a great addition and set the bow off! Ordered the small portion size and seemed like the large with how loaded the bowl was with ingredients. The bowl was very delicious and I'm definitely going back!

Smoothies and Acai bowls are pretty good. They give you the chance to taste your s.oothie or acai base before packing it up just in case you want to add or change something. Everyone has always been super friendly when we have been here. The owner is a cool funny guy that will definitely have you laughing. The vibes are nice, no where to sit inside but they do have outside seating for when it gets warmer. I believe they also sell honey and vapes as well. The store is covered in cool artwork and upbeat music always playing. Would definitely recommend trying them out!

The acai is the perfect consistency and the additional toppings are 3 for $1 which is a STEAL compared to Rico's $2 almond butter.

I don't usually consider them for meals but every now and then when I am craving something sweet they hit the spot! Vitality Bowls is a chain originating out west that now has a home in Southend Charlotte at the Railyard development. Since my office is nearby, some coworkers and I decided to order ahead and walk over to enjoy our bowls. In addition to açaí bowls they offer sandwiches, wraps, smoothies, and other types of bowl/salads. The server was friendly and our food was ready and packaged to go when we arrived. I decided to go with the Nutty Bowl. No I admit I am somewhat of a novice when it comes to açaí bowls, but in the past when I get them, they usually come with a lot of toppings and drizzle that not only adds to the flavors and presentation, but makes the bowl more filling and dense. The bowl I received was perfectly tasty, it just felt a little bit underwhelming and underdone. It was light on the toppings and seemed like it was tossed together quickly. Now the simple explanation could be that since we made a larger order ahead of time the person making them may have been under pressure to finish each one faster before moving on to the next. I certainly want to go back by myself and order in the store to see how the bowl compares. I really did enjoy the blend they used for the base of the bowl and I can tell it was made using fresh ingredients. For what it's worth my coworkers all enjoyed their sandwiches as well. I will have to give it another shot

I wrote a separate review for that one, which was out of your mind amazing, and when I come back, there are so many other places I have to try. There's an Italian place that makes noodles from scratch every day, so that's my goal for the next visit. My husband had a Cuban sandwich, and he said that was the best he's ever had. Everywhere there was great, comfortable seating with beautiful hanging boho plants that just gave a nice natural and calm touch to the environment.

Review for Optimist Hall…read more As a foodie who relocated to Charlotte from the San Francisco Bay Area, I naturally compare food halls to the iconic Ferry Building Marketplace. Optimist Hall reminds me of it -- it definitely aspires to that kind of destination experience -- but it's not quite in the same league. That said, it's still one of Charlotte's most vibrant and enjoyable places to gather and eat. This is an upscale food hall with a wide variety of options -- beer, wine, cocktails, global cuisines, retail, and plenty of energy. I've tried many of the stalls, and the diversity is impressive. There's truly something for everyone, which makes it a great place to visit with friends or family. Parking is generally easy, and the space is clean, modern, and aesthetically pleasing. The bathrooms are well-maintained, which always matters. One challenge is seating -- there never quite seems to be enough, especially during peak times. Like many food halls, there can also be turnover among vendors, which is a bit unfortunate when you find a favorite. The setup here reflects what you often see in the Southeast: surface parking rather than garages or robust public transportation. It works, but it's different from West Coast infrastructure where you might hop on BART or a streetcar and arrive right at the door. Where Optimist Hall really shines is as a social destination. It's perfect for a group outing -- almost like a modern food truck rally. One person claims a table while everyone else explores, then you come back together, share dishes, and break bread. That communal experience is what makes this place special. It's a big wide world out there. Be curious -- and bon appétit.
