These guys are obviously known for their Acai bowls which are all so good but they just started doing smoothies & they are amazing!! Recommend 10/10

Okay okay I'll admit it. I didn't really get the açaí hype. I'm not a fan of yogurt & somehow just always thought of them as the same. Thankfully one day curiosity got the best of me & I decided to visit Rico's on Pecan ave on a whim. I love Villani's in the same parking lot & now have even more reason to visit. It's easy to always find a place to park & walk right up to the window to order. If it's not busy still walk up to the ordering window and you won't have a problem. It is a little pricey as some others have mentioned, however if you sign up for the rewards program they're often offering specials. Many times this can even be found on their online ordering. The açaí & fresh fruit has always been fresh & tasty. And secretly I love how healthy this treat feels even once I add a dollop of Nutella. PS the iced coffee in the photo is not from Rico's but the bakery next door which is also a must visit.

Rico's was my first açaí in NC since moving to Cali. I've been a few times, as it was a rec from a family member who had come a couple of times. I love that it's more of a food truck feel. There are several picnic tables spread out around the area, and some gravel parking. It gives a speakeasy feel as you can't really see it from the road, especially if you're not sure what you're looking for. The building is behind another restaurant, so keep your eyes peeled for a white building with a cute fruit mural. Staff are patient and can provide some solid recs if you're not sure what to get. The menu is quite extensive. I love the rainbow bowl because it has all sorts of fruits and it's not only pretty to look at, but it also tastes good. I would say be aware of the limited parking, you can find street parking across the street, and if it's hot just be aware seating is outside. My first visit the açaí was smooth and so refreshing on a hot day, the last time I went I think the açaí was frozen so it wasn't as smooth. The açaí felt like little chunks of ice instead of that smooth smoothie texture. But the fruit tasted delicious and fresh! Highly recommend a visit, especially because it's around the corner from a pretty walkable neighborhood.

4 stars instead of 5 because most açaí places I have been to have a toppings bar you can choose from to customize your bowls. This place does not, so you don't actually have a visual of all the possibilities. It's also expensive!! My medium size bowl came out to $12!! I ordered the rainbow bowl. Overall- the bowl was good and surprisingly packed with fruit! Everything was fresh and tasted great on a hot day. Service was quick and friendly. Parking lot is shared with Villani.

Some of the best açaí we've ever had!!! Only complaint is that they were pricey, but we thought it was worth it. The fruit was incredibly fresh and the service was very friendly.

I love Rico's so much so that it's always a required stop when I come home. When I lived in Charlotte permanently, I came to Rico's every weekday for breakfast and ordered the rainbow bowl (no granola add coconut and honey). It's literally a mouthful of freshness to kick off your day. I've tried other Acai bowls in the area but none compare to Rico's. At about $13 for a bowl It may be pricey but it is certainly worth it.

Love me some Ricós, and the Rainbow bowl is my go to! I placed an order and went across the parking lot to grab some desserts. Returned less than 10 mins later and they were still working on my order. That was no big deal, and it came out shortly after. The staff was nice, my Acai bowl was good, and I'd visit again!

Went one morning around 7:30am. I was the only customer at this time. It is a walk up location and you order from the window. The staff was really nice and my bowl was prepared correctly and quickly. There are many add on options. Fairly priced - would return

So I tried Rico's Açaí at the 7th Street Public Market. I've never had an açaí bowl and always thought it was "too trendy" or "silly." I just didn't understand how that could taste good. Well, I was wrong and now I need to find a place like this near me. I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty this was. I got the protein bowl which was full of granola and peanut/almond butter...even some Nutella thrown in there. There was also hemp seeds and their surprisingly delicious Acai base which was not overly fruity or strong, which I thought it would be. It was delightful. The flavors and textures were perfect together and so filling--I only got a "mini" size and it was plenty!

I love this place. The concept is fast and efficient. I always recommend the rainbow bowl as it has just about every fruit you could love while also being top quality fruits. I don't get bored eating it because there are so many textures when combined with the açaí, granola, and bananas. You can get full off eating one bowl. Though, you can also treat it as a dessert.

I've lived pretty close to Rico's since it's been there on Pecan but just now stopped there to get breakfast to go today. I have been working from home for so long now that I didn't think about going out but had to go nearby today so the bowls finally happened. They have a window with a menu with made to order bowls offered, sizes (3 of them) and prices. I opted for the mini Butter Bro which was 9.00 and quite large, imo. It had Acai, granola, banana and lots of it, peanut and almond butter with some Nutella and hemp seeds on top. The Berry, mini also 9.00, is also a refreshing option; Acai, granola, banana and your blueberry, blackberry and raspberry trinity. This was perfect after a week of Thanksgiving foods.

I just happen to be working in the area where Roaming Fork sets up on Thursdays out in Ballantyne and was able to grab some tasty lunch. The menu is varied and even has an Asian flare! I went with the recommendation of the cashier. I got the Porky Cheesy and the Truffle fries. The grill cheese had a good crunch and a good amount of filling. I love anytime you mix bbq pork and cheese and this didn't disappoint. The truffle fries get squirted with truffle oil after they come out the grease and have an amazing aroma. I liked the flavor but I love fries with a condiment so I felt like the fries could have used some ranch dipping sauce. The menu has a lot of items I would like to try. Hopefully I'm back in the area where they are located and can give them another try soon. Roaming Fork Thursday October 24, 2019 1pm

The cubanos are amazing - I've gotten the original and also the BBQuban. The OG is super solid, but OMG that BBQ one is just delectable and a great texture. Trust me. Try it. They also have the best yucca fries I've probably ever had. My issue with most yucca fries is that the texture tends to be pretty tough, but these are so soft inside - like they mashed the yucca first and then formed the fries. I don't know what magic they use, but they're incredible, and you must get some. We also got a churro filled with dulce de leche, and it came out nice and hot with lots of cinnamon sugar coating. I didn't love the dulce de leche filling for some reason - maybe I got spoiled by spending time in Argentina - so next time I'll likely go for the regular churro.

I follow these guys on Twitter and was always hoping they'd camp out in the Southpark area one day to draw a lunch crowd. To no avail, I was forced to wait until this weekend! Happy to find these guys at Small Bar in the NC Music Factory for PBR Fest. Churning out pizza and wings for the beer crowd. I had heard multiple cheers of praise and glory about this truck's pizza and wings. I was even a little intimidated approaching the order window. The staff were all very friendly and helpful with describing all of the menu items. We ended up getting two slices of cheese, a slice of the buffalo chicken and 5 Carolina Buffalo wings. We sat down with 24oz tallboys in hand and went to town. I was happy to say that the wings are AWESOME. Perfectly cooked, a little crispy on the outside, not dry, tender, slathered generously with amazing sauce. The Carolina Buffalo is a winner. Mustard-based bbq with a plethora of buffalo sauce thrown in. My taste buds were happy. Uhh...they need to make a Carolina Buffalo pizza. (No brainer, yeah?) The only thing that sank my happy sailing dinner experience was the pizza. A little lackluster and the sauce was a bit reminiscent of box pizza from the frozen section in the grocery store. Maybe our slices had been sitting out for a bit, but didn't have the freshest of textures. I did appreciate the crust and enjoyed sopping up the remainder of the wing sauce with them. I can't say that the pizza was banging on all cylinders or a culinary breakthrough, but is definitely reliable. The combo of wings and pizza in one meal from the street, though? Baller status. Grab a tallboy and it's all over. Foodtruck heaven. So happy to have finally tried these guys out and can't wait to see them at Chowdown Uptown in the near future! Carolina Buffalo Pizza, guys!
