I always go there for their pho but there has always been a waitress there who always seems like she is either mad or having a bad day mid age tan lady, anywho I had ordered pho, I didn't really pay attention to the one I had ordered because the only difference is the meat options but anywho I ordered it and saw it had tendon and decide not to eat it only the beef. This lady picks up our dishes and comments do you like tendon? I kindly tell her no I don't eat it, thinking she was trying to make conversation then she aggressively and judgy says "then why did you order it"? Last time I checked I pay for my food! Made me feel embarrasses like she doesn't have to be loud about it, so uncalled for. I didn't ask for her opinion. I was surprised how large the interior is because from the outside, it looks small. They have a wide menu selection and are quick with preparing the food. I tried their Bo Kho (Street Side Beef Stew: beef shank with tendons and carrots, which comes with choice of rice noodles, egg noodles, or French bread, $15.95). I was very impressed with how tender and juicy the beef was! The chunks of beef were so delicious. The broth was so-so, and the carrots did not taste good though. Broke a 3 day clear liquid diet for a procedure with some rly great fresh food from Ben thanh and it was exactly what I needed. The food came out quick , was all fresh and well prepared and I had leftovers , the thai tea was one of the best I've had, so was the Vietnamese coffee, was also pleasantly surprised when the bill came with fortune cookies AND two little I'm assuming some sort of shortbread cookies, which were super good . I came here for lunch and and ordered #68 a special rice combo (Bbq pork, shredded pork, egg omelette) and Pho Dac Biet. I'm surely disappointed with the food. The menu for #68 is misleading. There's no bbq pork. It's a bbq pork patty (more like pork flavored patty, not real bbq pork) and the shredded pork has 3 thin slices of pork and the rest is some crunchy white stuff. As I mentioned on a tip: Outstanding menu. They cover the waterfront of Vietnamese and other SE Asian dishes. Multiple options in each category and additional options as to meat or no meat and what kind. Very clean restaurant and the wait staff is very helpful with suggestions. Beer, saki and wine are served. Parking is in the strip mall lot. No problem. Vegetarian options exist. I had the Hu Tieu Xao Uot which is a wet noodle with vegetables, choice of meat (I did shrimp) and a brown gravy. Did not care for it, mostly as the gravy was thick and gooey. I actually had the thought that they must have a big budget line item for corn starch or another thickener. The gravy ruined the dish. It was just gummy. Will be meeting with another Yelper later so will get his suggestions. Will most likely stick with rice dishes and some other noodles. Good service. Will come back. Now the #40 Bun this time was again very tasty with all the different meats AND a hint of basil which made it special. I love Pho and I can only review their Pho Tai (pho with rare beef #25 on the menu). The beef was extremely tough and actually inedible! The broth was bland and lacked depth. Maybe they were having a bad day, but this was a very poor excuse for Pho. read more

Located in Windsor Square in a hard-to-see spot across from the Sam's club, you can see the main anchor stores of JC Penny, Office Depot, and HHGregg (now closed) off of Independence, but Ben Thanh is neighbors with the Firehouse subs and Cici's Pizza. The restaurant also has a small private room for large group dinners and parties if needed. There's also some unique seating along the left side of the restaurant if you want a full experience (booths that box you in). The menu is a little daunting, but still navigable. My biggest gripe is that I cannot eat everything in one sitting. Need to come back and try their pho, but their yellow pancake is solid and I have dreams about it. read more
