    Cucumber salad
    Glenda C.

This was my first visit. It took a while for us to be waiting on, but once our order was taken our food arrived quickly. The crispy egg rolls were delicious, but we throughly enjoyed the cucumber salad. It was one of the best that I had ever had; it's my Asian go to salad. I really like the large tables, plenty of room for a large party. The only problem was my pineapple shell could have been fresher. We left with delicious Kragen water .

Came here for a quick lunch after getting a new Tesla! Delicious pho, quick turnaround and good servers. The pho was flavorful and fresh. I enjoyed all the side condiments that came with it including the fresh herbs. I would recommend coming here for pho!

I came in here on a weekday afternoon and it was not busy. I was seated instantly and the service was quick. The menu is very extensive. I started with the Summer rolls which were fresh and delicious. For my meal I ordered #47 which was a vermicelli stir fry with 3 different meats. Everything tasted great!

If you're looking for delicious and authentic Vietnamese food, Ben Thanh of the restaurants to check out in the Matthews/Charlotte area. I made a visit after a recommendation from a couple of friends. The restaurant has plenty of seating for small groups to larger groups. If you're like my friends and I, who orders A LOT of food, ask for a larger table (HAHA)! The menu is vast, but don't get overwhelmed. The staff is great and will assist with any questions you may have. Take your time looking over the menu because the food will come out quickly. What we ordered: - Banh Xeo (Yellow Pancake): Always a must when going to a Vietnamese restaurant that has it on the menu. It was delicious and ingredients were fresh - Bun Tom, Thit Nuong, Cha Gio: Pork... delicious. Imperial roll... delicious. Shrimp... delicous. Let's just say, the entire dish was very good! - Banh Uot Dac Biet: Everything was flavorful. Overall, the dishes we had were flavorful, ingredients were fresh, and was delicious. We were pleasantly happy with everything that we got. We will definitely be back to try other dishes.

A casual restaurant serving up great taste with an extensive menu. If you are in the Matthews area or passing through, and looking for Vietnamese cuisine, this will be the first recommendation I give you. The restaurant offers traditional Vietnamese food items such as: Bubble Teas Fried Spring Rolls and Summer Rolls Rice and Noodle Dishes Salads Soups including Seafood Noodle and Pho Steamed and Grilled Dishes Vegetarian Dishes Vermicelli House Specials Featured in the review: APPETIZERS (ROLLS): The sauce is what brings the flavor to these rolls, but the texture of the rolls completes the experience. Both parts work hand in hand. Both rolls are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: GARDEN DELIGHT ROLLS (BI CUON - $6.50) - Shredded roast pork, seasoned with garlic, roasted rice, rolled in the rice paper with fresh lettuce, mint, basil and beansprouts. Served with sweet and sour garlic sauce. JICAMA ROLLS (BO BIA - $6.50) - Jicama, Chinese sausage, fresh lettuce wrapped in rice paper. Served with peanut sauce. TRADITIONAL FOODS: VIETNAMESE YELLOW PANCAKE (BANH XEO - $16.95) - Vietnamese yellow pancake made with rice flour, stuff with shrimp, sliced pork and beansprouts. Comes with fresh lettuce, basil, cilantro, and mint. Served with sweet and sour garlic sauce. - The taste of the pancake is incredible as it has a slight sweetness to it. The meat inside is so well-seasoned and flavorful, I felt the greens weren't necessary. The pancake and garlic sauce are dynamic by themselves - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. FRIED RICE DISHES: ROAST PORK FRIED RICE (COM CHIEN XA XIU - $13.95) - Roast pork fried rice with eggs and white and green onions. - Well-seasoned. I loved the texture of the fried rice and the blend of all the ingredients. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. DRINKS: MANGO BUBBLE TEA ($5.95) - Incredibly delicious, very sweet and creamy - MANDATORY

Best pho in North Carolina. We've tried many and while others are good, this is in a different league. Also tried their lemongrass curry this time which was phenomenal.

Nice and clean restaurant. The broth was flavorful and the beef was tender. Will definitely return

Broke a 3 day clear liquid diet for a procedure with some rly great fresh food from Ben thanh and it was exactly what I needed. The food came out quick , was all fresh and well prepared and I had leftovers , the thai tea was one of the best I've had, so was the Vietnamese coffee, was also pleasantly surprised when the bill came with fortune cookies AND two little I'm assuming some sort of shortbread cookies, which were super good . Definitely will be coming back

What's your favorite dish here? I have never really had Vietnamese and would like to check this place out!

I've never tried pho but I'm sure that's the best choice if you're in the mood for a big bowl of soup and noodles. I realize this is a couple months old. I recommend to anyone else Vermicelli bowl (add hoisin sauce) or the "bird nest" dish. FRESH… Read more

This particular time I was able to take a good look due to traffic slowing down and read the sign so I pulled in the parking lot to read some reviews and check out their menu. I went in and decided on the bulogi banh mi and a white chocolate mocha. The bread was beyond ridiculously good. It was perfection, nice crunch on the outside and soft on the inside. Both were soooooo good. Also got a strawberry cream cheese pastry to go which was just as good. And the atmosphere is absolutely adorable in there. Some people were on laptops, I brought a book in to read while enjoying my items. Everything was so good I had to go back the very next day. I will definitely become a regular since it's so close to home and work.

Fortunately for me, every other local shopping center seems to have a Banh Mi & Pho joint these days. This one is located at the Arboretum in south Charlotte. There are two other locations, I think. So far, I haven't met a Banh Mi that I didn't like; however, there is one that I like best - Lula Banh Mi & Pho. My favorite two sandwiches - thinly sliced ribeye and pulled pork - are Americanized versions of their classics. I haven't seen these these anywhere else. The Pho (pronounced fuh) is also wildly popular. Service is friendly and attentive. The place is clean and attractive. Definitely a Gotta Try in my book!

And honestly, this place is beautiful. The restaurant has a huge dining room, lots of natural light, an open-concept kitchen, and plenty of seating, which makes it feel much more like a destination restaurant versus just a quick grab-and-go spot. Parking is easy too, which immediately lowers my stress level. Big parking lot, easy in and out, no drama. Normally, I'm a total creature of habit here. I usually order one of their incredible bánh mì sandwiches because that in-house baked baguette absolutely steals the show. Crispy outside, soft inside, and the perfect ratio of bread to filling. And of course, I almost always pair it with one of their dangerously strong Vietnamese iced coffees because they are rocket fuel in the best possible way. But this last visit, I actually veered away from my regular order and tried the beef short ribs over rice, and wow -- it absolutely did not disappoint. The short ribs were tender, flavorful, rich, and incredibly satisfying. When the plate first came out, I honestly thought the portion looked a little small, but clearly my eyes were bigger than my stomach because by the end of the meal, it was actually the perfect amount of food. Filling without making me feel miserable afterward, which honestly is a rare gift. I still stand by their garlic noodles, summer rolls with peanut sauce, and smoothies too. The pineapple and passion fruit smoothies are especially fantastic. What I really appreciate about Lula's is that it feels approachable. Whether you already know Vietnamese food well or you're just starting to explore it, it's a welcoming place to branch out and try something new. The staff is friendly, service is fast, portions are thoughtful and generous, and the value is excellent. Honestly, if I lived closer to this side of town, I'd probably eat here constantly. Charlotte, get curious about food. There's a whole world waiting for you out there, so get out there and eat your way through it.
