Appetizer of 5. Grilled Lemongrass Tofu
    Maria R.

The people who work here are nice and the food is okay, so I feel bad writing this review. This little restaurant is tucked into a strip mall off the freeway in Mountlake Terrace. We've ordered pho from them a few times and last night I decided to order an appetizer as well. I got the grilled lemongrass tofu. It's partly my fault for not reading that there were three pieces in the order, but I was shocked when I opened the box and there were three tiny pieces of tofu in it. They may look large in the photo I took, but that is a close up next to a spoon on top of rice that I added to the bottom of the bowl. They were tasty - but not tasty enough to pay $8.30 for. The veggie pho was $16.55 for a large yet it came in a regular sized container. I know times are tough and the cost of everything is up. But I can't justify paying this much for one meal. This place is close to home so there's a chance we'll eat here again - but we won't be ordering anything but pho, and only if there are no other options.

    Homemade chili oil!

I go here very often and it's my favorite pho restaurant. They recently opened under new management and they are so kind and attentive! Always checking on how I am and how I'm enjoying the food. They have homemade chili oil which is absolutely fantastic.

One of the better locations compare to other area. I like coming here for a quick grab of Pho noodle soup when its cold rainy day and etc. The pho here are good nothing to hype or turn down. The service are quick and you get your food out fairly quickly as well! The price is right here as well. It didn't go up much. I usually comes here once a while. Bonus is that everyone get a piece of their egg custard tart which is delicious!

(left) chicken, (right) pork....either way, who can tell?!?!?!?

This is a review of the banh mi. My husband went here for the first time after a meeting. He had their pho and he says it's 7/10. He decided to order a couple of banh mi's (chicken and a pork) to go for our kids after they got off from school. All I can say, thank God I had planned to make some fajitas (prior to knowing him wasting money on just getting "bread") for them since for sure there was more meat and sides in their meal that I made than what he came home with. Seriously, why put banh mi on the menu and you get nothing? I couldn't even tell which was chicken or pork...where is the jalapeno or pate but of course, the obvious..where's the meat?? If we wanted vegetarian...this was kind of "it" This is so not what banh mi should be...sorely disappointed . I understand times may be tough considering the pandemic but come on...this sandwich shouldn't have been a waste.

We love their Egg Rolls (Cha Gio).

This Pho Tran need some adjustments but all the dishes we tried are above average. I love that they didn't over cooked the Pho Noodle. One thing that I really like is their deep fried egg rolls (the flavor is quite good) even though the sauce is slightly different from most other places ). So first I thought the sauce need to be stronger in flavor but for very good flavor of Char Gio (Egg Rolls) you don't need sauce to be strong so you can really enjoy flavor of stuffs in the egg rolls.

The six dollar vietnamese coffee was like 10 sips... 80% ice. Much more cost effective to go to one of the bigger coffee vendors instead.

The pho here is not it. As others have said, the broth is too oily to enjoy. I ate here way more than I should've, oops.

Although I try to be as openminded and objective as possible, when it comes to dessert, I'll always vote for Asian desserts, and I'm not going to lie. I've tried three different chè here, and none of them failed me. They were Bambu Favorite, Summer Delight, and Taro Lover. To sum it up for those who've never been here before, it's basically coconut milk with various boba style toppings. I always get the large size on Saturday afternoons and take it to Edmonds Beach. Out of these three, my least favorite was Summer Delight, simply because I didn't enjoy scooping out the thick glass noodle textured jelly at the end. I love how all my chè were coconut milk based, they're lighter than milk and don't leave that nasty aftertaste and bad breath lingering in your mouth. The ingredients such as pandan jelly and tapioca were fun to eat, with a subtle sweetness to them. The whole cup of chè is perfectly balanced, nothing overwhelming the other. As someone don't drink and smoke, having a chè after my weekly grocery shopping is a mental spa break for me. So next time you're nearby, give it a try, Asian dessert drinks are more than matcha latte.

One of my friends highly recommended this place for authentic chè drinks, so I decided to give it a…read moretry. I had never heard of chè before, and it seems like it is not easy to find a spot that serves authentic versions in the Seattle area. The store is located in the same complex as Ranch 99, which makes parking very convenient since there are plenty of free spaces available. There were a few people ahead of us in line, and it took us some time to decide what to order. My friend suggested either #1 Bambu Special or #2 Bambu Combo, and specifically advised not to get a boba drink here. I chose the #1 Bambu Special since it was listed as one of their top-selling drinks and had fewer calories than the #2 Bambu Combo. I selected the regular sweetness level to get a more authentic taste of chè. The drink came out quickly, but after taking a sip, I was not quite sure what I was drinking. It had large chunks of ice, floating basil seeds, pandan jelly, longan, and coconut. Tbh, it was very disappointing. The drink was not cheap. It cost $8.50 before sales tax and tip, bringing the total close to $10. Is it worth driving all the way to Edmonds and paying almost $10 for this drink at Bambu? Personally, I don't think so. There are only about five small tables, so it is not the kind of place where you would want to sit and hang out, either. I feel like I could find a better drink and better experience somewhere in Bellevue or Seattle for a similar price.
