Service was great & I loved the band set up they even offered Karaoke options. Pho looked & smelled so good. Very accommodating and friendly.

The pho broth smells delicious as you walk in. Everything was good until the water and the pho came out. 3 out of the 4 glasses of water was chipped and still feels sharp on the rim. The pho noodle was over cooked all 3 bowls. A little disappointed for 1st time.

Clean atmosphere. Mom and pops pho place. Super hot broth that stayed hot throughout my meal. Clean broth, not too salty or greasy. My new favorite pho place!! Service was also great. Fast and efficient.

    Vietnamese egg rolls (3)

It's my 2nd time at this place. The last time was on New Year's Eve, they had special hours that day (opened until 2am I think). Thought I'd give it a shot another today since I planned on shopping next door. Not sure if they are limited on workers but I wasn't greeted and thus, picked a seat to sit down. It was just one lady up front , she looked busy and maybe 2 cooks. I wasn't given a menu until maybe 5 mins. I ordered a large D1 (brisket, rare steak, meatball), an order of Vietnamese egg rolls (3), and a banh mi to take home for later. The eggrolls arrived first 10 minutes after my order. Not too big or skinny. Just your regular size egg roll and tasted as expected. Let's start with the pho. It was brought to me about a minute or 2 after the egg rolls. The broth was excellent. Not oily because I don't like those oily pho. Again, as expected. Last, the banh mi. I ordered that to go for later. I specifically said I only want cilantro, jalapeños, and extra patè , NO DAIKON on my Vietnamese ham sandwich. I then discovered later after when I got home that there is daikon . I can dig it out but I would appreciate my requests being fulfilled instead of just nodding and saying yes yes I got it. Regardless I left a tip and most likely will stick to yummy deli for my banh mi. Good for pho though if there's only 1-2 other customers. I have not been this place around busy hours. *EDIT*** I had to come back and add to my review that the HAM is not the vietnamese ham. It is straight up like your normal american ham you buy at the local grocery store. That's a no go for me and a downgrade to 3 stars.

D4. Beef Rare and Beef Ball Ph tai bo vien
    Sandy N.

I heard from my dad that the place that used to be Pho Hung was a new restaurant called Pho Smile. This place is newly renovated and revamped version of the place with different owners. I ordered their D4, which is their pho tai bo vien. It includes rare beef and beef meatballs. Broth was pretty good not too sweet, just the right amount of aroma. I really enjoyed the pho from this place. I ordered a large and felt like I got a decent amount of noodles for the size. Other than the pho, this place also sells plushies of different characters on the wall. Good idea for families that come with small children. Would definitely come here again, also the new owner is really nice!

The broth tastes like medicine, the noodles were uncooked, and they were stingy with their portions. Also, the pho looks extremely depressing. Wouldn't recommend.

Terrible just a bowl of hot water I left and did not even leave any tip because I tip a worker not the owner.

They have THE BEST broth that I have ever had and I am a pho snob. Don't let the low rating stop you from going.

(gotta climb in the Wayback Machine for that gem!) I loved that I saw at least six versions of my childhood dining room table, which felt so nostalgically comfortable that I wanted to crawl under one with my coloring books and my chocolate milk. But I digress -- you're supposed to be reading my review. I decided that I was in the mood for grilled cheese and tomato soup, so that's what I ordered. The tomato soup is really amazing -- so fresh tasting and delicious. But the sandwich was next level nom-ness. I opted to get it on sourdough because it's the best for dunking into the soup. You order in line and the incredible wait staff brings the food quite quickly. With the vibe, the service and all the things, I am definitely coming back.

It definitely worked on me - usually specials are relegated to a small corner of the menu, but here they are front and center. I couldn't resist and so I got the Pot Roast Dip. It's a sandwich that has a good amount of pot roast, some bacon jam that's glued together with provolone and Swiss cheese all on a Giuseppe roll (From Macrina Bakery? It's a crust roll). The bacon jam and sandwich dressing makes the sandwich really sweet, but the Angus sauce is very salty, and so when the sandwich is dipped it all balances out interestingly enough. It was good to try, but I think I'll order something else next time. I also got a Mocha latte- very smooth and delicious. I would get this again! Their bathrooms are shared with the rest of the building - the code is at the cashiers. The wifi password is right next to it too. You grab a menu, wait in line to order, and then they bring your food to you. Bus your own table when you're done. Solid spot.

They definitely take full advantage of the amazing waterway view on their multilevel terrace with various plantings and whimsical wood carved fixtures. The cafe has a variety of both outdoor and indoor seating. Welcoming counter service. There's breakfast and lunch menu items, baked goods, and coffee/tea service. I decided to hang out onsite with the warmed, tasty vanilla scone and well crafted, spring inspired 12oz mocha. A few folks were on laptops, rest were there for lunch and lively convo. It was also good to see upbeat camaraderie among the cafe staff. The only big downside for me is that there isn't any comfortable seating. This is definitely a place that you could come work, or talk with a friend. But, if you want to sit and read for a while, it might not be very comfortable. There are hard chairs and benches. Then there was one stuffed dining chair but it was not very comfortable. There is outside seating that has a nice atmosphere where you can't really see the street at all. We had iced lattes, which were pretty good. They have almond milk. Our drinks were made pretty quickly. There was one person that ordered ahead of us and we got our drinks in about 5 minutes.
