My new favorite Asian dessert place! Friendly staff, and I can usually get my drink within 10 minutes. Although I try to be as openminded and objective as possible, when it comes to dessert, I'll always vote for Asian desserts, and I'm not going to lie. I've tried three different chè here, and none of them failed me. They were Bambu Favorite, Summer Delight, and Taro Lover. To sum it up for those who've never been here before, it's basically coconut milk with various boba style toppings. I always get the large size on Saturday afternoons and take it to Edmonds Beach. Out of these three, my least favorite was Summer Delight, simply because I didn't enjoy scooping out the thick glass noodle textured jelly at the end. I love how all my chè were coconut milk based, they're lighter than milk and don't leave that nasty aftertaste and bad breath lingering in your mouth. The ingredients such as pandan jelly and tapioca were fun to eat, with a subtle sweetness to them. The whole cup of chè is perfectly balanced, nothing overwhelming the other. As someone don't drink and smoke, having a chè after my weekly grocery shopping is a mental spa break for me. One of my friends highly recommended this place for authentic chè drinks, so I decided to give it a try. I had never heard of chè before, and it seems like it is not easy to find a spot that serves authentic versions in the Seattle area. The store is located in the same complex as Ranch 99, which makes parking very convenient since there are plenty of free spaces available. There were a few people ahead of us in line, and it took us some time to decide what to order. My friend suggested either #1 Bambu Special or #2 Bambu Combo, and specifically advised not to get a boba drink here. I chose the #1 Bambu Special since it was listed as one of their top-selling drinks and had fewer calories than the #2 Bambu Combo. I selected the regular sweetness level to get a more authentic taste of chè. The drink came out quickly, but after taking a sip, I was not quite sure what I was drinking. It had large chunks of ice, floating basil seeds, pandan jelly, longan, and coconut. Tbh, it was very disappointing. The drink was not cheap. It cost $8.50 before sales tax and tip, bringing the total close to $10. Is it worth driving all the way to Edmonds and paying almost $10 for this drink at Bambu? Personally, I don't think so. There are only about five small tables, so it is not the kind of place where you would want to sit and hang out, either. Variety of drinks but I always get the Jasmine Sea Salt tea since it comes with pudding and I love the sea salt on top. My go to but I do want to try other stuff on their menu!! Love the fruit addict here! There are loads of fruits in this drink. I ordered no-sugar option, but 25% sugar tasted better. They had loads of vegan drink options which is absolutely amazing. The ingredient list includes the following - Lychee, longan, jackfruit, palm seed, red tapioca, agar-agar jello, pandan jelly, coconut & coconut milk. All the fruits tasted delicious. Agar-agar jello was the only one that I didn't like so much and would have totally replaced with jackfruit or longan. This is my go to place for che! Parking was easy there is a big lot for free, and no wait at all when ordering. I got the bamboo favorite, and it was not too sweet, jelly was fresh, and great taste overall. For the price, the portion is big, two people can definitely share it. I came to Bambū Dessert & Drinks for the first time this evening, Monday 15 May 2023, with my eye on trying a pandan waffle for the first time. The shared parking lot had spots available and I made my way to the store eagerly. Placing my order I decided I wanted to try a pandan waffle with durian. The worker asked if I had eaten durian before, which I had not, so she had me try a sample to make sure I was okay with it in the waffle. I was pleasantly surprised and kept my order the same. The wait was maybe about five minutes, the prices were $5.95 for the waffle and $2.50 for the durian pre-tax. With tax the total was $9.33 and I paid with a ten dollar bill, tipping my change. The durian came baked into the green pandan waffle. It had a texture that looked a bit liked mashed up bamboo shoots and a sweet flavor. My palate taste buds danced in a way that reminded me of trying lychee for the first time. The pandan waffle was texturally more on the chewy side and the waffle itself was cooked to a golden crispy perfection. Honestly, you don't come here focused on their drinks since they specialize in che, but their drinks are not half bad. For a place that is most focused on the che and Vietnamese dessert, the boba was really chewy and actually had sweetness. It was flavorful and the tea was fine as well. Out of 10 the drinks were a 7 for me. It only helps more that they have such a wide selection of items to pick from (though usually more is usually spread out so items are lower quality, I don't think it's the case here). I haven't had the snow ice here, but at another location. I'm sure it's similar. Akin to bingsoo, it's more shaved ice (actual ice instead of shaved milk), but the flavor you pick will be very apparent from their syrup mix. You won't just be eating straight shaved ice that tastes like water, which I appreciate. read more

Great spot for bubble tea and Vietnamese che! It's right next to the 99 Ranch market so it's convenient to go while you're out shopping and parking is always available! This Edmonds location isn't like the one in Chinatown so I was disappointed they didn't have the shaved ice here but they do have their signature pandan waffle. My go-to drink is the Bambu favorite. The red tapioca and pandan jelly is the best combo with just the right amount of crunchy and chewy texture. They also allow you to customize the sugar level. I recommend bringing cash for orders under $10 otherwise there is a 50 cent charge for credit cards. The service is really quick though. BAMBU is a Vietnamese desert shop instead of Taiwanese bubble tea shop. It's very important to know this. I'm not an expert with these but wanted to try it anyway. The specialties on the menu are their Chè beverages, which are updated versions of traditional Chè drinks. The most popular item is not a drink but the Pandan waffles. Red bean combo Chè - The ingredients are red bean, taro, pandan jelly, and coconut milk cream. The red bean is a big one, about 3/4 inch long, not the small type used in Taiwanese, Japanese, or Chinese desserts. Not a fan of these big red beans. The taro is some kind of processed taro that I don't recognized. The texture is gooey vs. the natural gritty type. Also not a fan. Fruit combo Chè - Overall, there's not much real fruit in here. Lots of the processed jelly varieties. Pandan waffle - Yup, it is definitely tasty and I can see why it's the most popular item. My personal taste says I'm not a fan of Chè beverages. My favorite flavors are the orange chiller, honeydew, mango, and now mangonada! I tried the mangonada last night and it quickly became one of my favorites! It comes with real mango chunks and yummy chamoy sauce. I wish they had descriptions on Uber eats Bc I ended up adding Boba and it really didn't need it. Plus the straw that comes with it has tamarind candy on it, but is too small for boba. Having said that, this is my favorite place partly due to the flavor of the boba. I'm glad there's a ché place close around to the area that reminds me of home in Vietnam! When I heard the word ché, there's a part of me that really hits home when that word comes in my mind because back in Vietnam there would be many stands that would sell ché on the street for super cheap, and coming into BAMBU the smell of the spot just makes you feel welcome and hungry for some good dessert! My go to when I come here is the Green Lantern(Mung Bean, Pandan Jelly, and Coconut Milk) and with this I usually add taro which makes it way more delicious! So give it a try and let me know what you think of it. If you are into smoothies, then you should try their Mangonada smoothie, its sour, sweet and salty and all of that just goes so perfect in this mango smoothie. You also get a little kick from it every sip you take! Lastly, make sure you try the fresh Pandan Waffle! You won't regret it, when you heard the word waffle, you probably think of American waffle but this is has a chewy and spongey texture that makes it way more enjoyable than a plain old waffle! Nu has an unpleasant demeanor with customers. When I asked for light sweetness she said "you won't even be able to taste the honey" I then said "well that's your opinion, could you make it light sweet please" She rolled her eyes went to the back and made my drink.
