Food is good, service not so much. Unable to provide simple modifications. I ordered the mini bites and my sister got the Tudo Acai bowl. The acai bowl was so tasty that I decided to go and order my own, and asked for the Lena bowl but sub condensed milk for honey (a simple/small adjustment I would think). The employee was quick to say that no substitutions were allowed for the smaller bowls. I told her "oh, then nevermind", hoping that since there were no other patrons around and no line, maybe they would make the small adjustment. She just looked blankly at me then turned to continue chatting with her fellow employee. I sat back down and took a few more bites of my sisters bowl and we finished the mini bites and went on our way. I really did want to order more, but they were unable to fulfill a small request during a lull in busy-ness. I saw other reports of poor customer service lately, and just wanted to provide some context. It's too bad, the food is pretty good and the prices are decent. But after today, I don't think I will be back. read more

Right across from the AMC Theater, Kitanda offers fresh cheesebread sandwiches and delicious acai bowls. Their cappuccino coffee is excellent too and comes standard with whole milk - hurray! Yelp pins this Kitanda location to the main street of the mall. That's incorrect. In the early morning it takes quite a detour on foot to reach it from the mall itself because the food court area is closed to the public and Kitanda isn't even listed in the mall directory. Mall employees were clueless while Kitanda staff had no idea how hard it was to pinpoint the location. After that, I couldn't even add my purchase to their app because I mistakenly used my credit card instead of Apple Pay. Yes, this is a rant but at least you know not to do what I did :) Plenty of seating, airy open feel and bright, fun decor make this my favorite Kitanda in the area right at my first visit. The staff is very friendly and upbeat. Two thumbs up! read more

Stopped by here one late evening during a shopping trip. This shop is located just outside the cafeteria area which could possibly generate less foot traffic. We were hungry for a quick bite so decided to buy a brownie which would make our 4 year old happy. I decided to try the Brazilian Latte. The latte was super good and the brownie was tasty and the order was ready quickly. There are quite a lot of Brazilian food items and candies, which I would try next time. The Açai bowl from this authentic Brazilian restaurant/Cafe is such a treat! Fast, fresh and friendly! Also the super hero protein drink is so delicious for work outs or if you can only eat liquids! My tooth is bruised right now, so going to drink Super Hero shakes for a little bit until it heals. Another hidden gem is the Cuban espresso with cinnamon stick! What brings all this food and drinks together for me are the friendly people who help you here! Baristas take forever to acknowledge you even if you're the only one in line. I wouldn't recommend and I will never come back.

First time in and it was an awesome experience. Clean establishment, tidy display cases, friendly and prompt service, and delicious food! The brownie was so tasty I almost forgot a picture, the sandwich was a delight with the chewy bread texture and fresh spinach, and the mocha was great with very smooth espresso! The only reason I didn't give it a perfect five star is because the mocha wasn't all the was stirred/mixed and for me it could have used a bit more chocolate (but I'm a chocoholic ) I highly recommend this place for a coffee, snack, or sweet... they even have a cold case for you to take home your own bags of Kitanda! read more

We've become frequent flyers at Alderwood Mall's Kitanda. Their snacks and sweets are quite delicious and they also offer a small variety of Brazilian chocolates, juices, and frozen foods. We always get their frozen bag of pão de queijo to take home. So good! We've also tried their Açaí, packed with fruits, delicious! Their pão de queijo sandwiches are a hit, with sweet and savory fillings. These are my husband's go-tos. Their coffee is the best. We always prefer Kitanda when we new hungry at the mall. Glad to see that Kitanda had opened up at Alderwood mall! They are located right outside the food court near Jamba Juice. I really enjoy their smoothies and Kitanda bread! The space is open and clean however there is limited seating inside. read more

I got glutened here yesterday by a careless employee. I asked about every item I ordered, even making sure to check their oatmilk was gluten free (it is not) and at the end of my order I asked their opinion on the cheese stick. She said "you should get it, it's sooooo good!" So I ordered one, thinking I was safe because I had asked about gluten in every single ingredient/item. The sign in the window for the cheese stick did not say anything about the bread containing wheat, and the employee didn't say anything about it. I took one bite and knew it wasn't gf, so I asked and she said "no, it's not" without any apology or even any realization that she maybe should have said something. 12 hours later and I was suffering immensely. It's been almost 24 hours and I'm still suffering the consequences. I'm 5 months pregnant on top of it, so the reaction has been causing pain AND intense worry. Employees should be trained better. read more

I had a friend go back to Kitanda in Lynnwood to see if anything has changed... she had a good experience and let me know that there was new staff there who were very attentive so I decided to give them another try! I was greeted upon my arrival they double checked to make sure my order was correct and they were very kind and polite to me and that really really made my day! Customer service very poor. The store was pretty much empty but the employees took almost 5 min to take my order. After they got my order I waited another 10min and went to inquire about my order and then they started preparing. Kitanda in Kirkland is way better in all ways possible. read more

The ambiance is really gloomy and the guy working the counter was really dismissive and didn't seem like he was happy to be there. There was another customer that walked in after I ordered and he completely ignored her until he was done with my smoothie. I mean wouldn't even look at her. I ordered a 16oz smoothie and cheese bread that cost me a whopping $13, and the cup wasn't even full. There was about an inch of space from the lid. When I'm paying for a smoothie that costs $10 for 16oz, I at least want the cup to be full. The smoothie and bread themselves were good but not worth the price or attitude. The guy handed my items to me very dismissively and didn't say anything except the items I ordered. No "thank you," "have a nice day." I recommend Emerald City Smoothie in the mall. Really disappointed with this coffee shop. Wanted to try something new at this Lynwood location and was severely upset. Me and my husband came in and ordered one iced white chocolate mocha and kitanda bread. We had our newborn baby and toddler with us and what seemed like would be a quick trip took over 30 minutes. The girl working was taking forever on everyone's order and then would just stand around while the other worker was making Acai bowls and trying to get her to work. I made eye contact with her mutiple times so I would think she wouldn't forget my order but after standing there for so long holding my baby my husband came in. He asked what was going on with our order and the girl said "she threw away our number" the man apparently threw away the our drink because they messed up. They then had to look up our drink to remake it. He then had to throw it away again because he messed up. When we finally got the drink it was more caramel in there than white chocolate. The bread bites were stale as rocks. I worked as a barista at a very high rated bakery for over 5 years and never experienced this slow and crappy of service and drink. You'd have better coffee at McDonald's or any other food place in the food court. Don't recommend Kitanda at all. read more
