Even though this is a pho restaurant, I always get the banh mi. The bread is super crispy and the pork has great flavor. It's cooked just right, not too sweet and not burnt at all. The pickled vegetables add a nice flavor and balance to the meat and baguette. The restaurant itself is really clean and the ambiance is great. They play good music and the service is fast. This is one of my go to spots when I'm craving something filling and flavorful. The price is great too! read more

This was my second time here, and I was not super impressed. On the menu it sounds like several of the vegetarian items should be easily veganized, but when I asked our server she said she was only sure about 92 (veggie pho) and the tofu spring rolls. She said 92 was good so I ordered it. The pho noodles and toppings themselves were delicious, but I found the clear broth to be extremely bland. I also found a dead mosquito in my broth. I understand these things happen and the workers were all really nice so I didn't say anything at the time, but now I kind of wish that I had. read more

I was very surprised by my bill at this business for an order I placed on the phone. No vendor that I know of charges a to-go charge or additional CC charge without disclosing it to a customer first. As for the to-go charge when I questioned them they said its for the box- but i got my sandwich in a paper bag. As for the cc charge their owner or manager lady that they connected me to on the phone said its a new charge for them from the credit card company and they need help from their customers to pay it. Haven't eaten the sandwich yet, so can't speak to the taste. read more

This is my go to spot every time we come to Costco. It's in the shopping center next to the Ross. The food and service is always on point, but my order got messed up, but I still ate it. ~3.5 stars for the pho and banh mi, rounded down since it really wasn't 4 for the food. I was looking for a place that had pho and banh mi that had cha lua in the area and found this place. Pho - noodles too soft, soup too sweet, oxtail too fatty. This was the 29House Special Beef Noodle Soup. Banh mi - pate tasted too strongly of iron, pork was too sweet. A quaint little pho spot ! Like what another reviewer said, you know it's good when there's people willingg gg to eat outside in such a hot weather. Fast and friendly service as expected with these mom and pop places. I got the classic bon bo hue and it was delicious ! I passed by this place for a decade while shopping at Costco. I finally decided to try it out. I'm so glad that I did. Food is delicious. I had the rare steak pho. My companion had the free range chicken sour and spicy soup. He said it was one of the best soups that he has ever had. We also had the chicken spring rolls which were really delicious. Dipping sauce was Nuoc Nam Sauce instead of a peanut sauce. Bathrooms were ok but they keep a stockpile in the gender neutral bathroom. I was surprised that it was pretty busy in there. There were at least 3 families and 5 singles eating there at 7 pm on a Tuesday night. Highly recommend and it will be in the pho rotation! read more

This is the worst Vietnamese restaurant food I have ever had. I have no idea why it has so many stars. I ordered for online delivery and it was all completely tasteless. I did not have the Pho and I know they are known for this but I did not want all the microsplastics from hot soup in plastic take away container so I got pad Thai, a rice dish and a vermicelli dish. They were completely tasteless. I have never had fish sauce be tasteless. The meat smell was gross. I don't even want to say what it smelled like but it made it hard to eat. The pad Thai tasted like blank noodles. It was literally the blandest mean I have ever eaten in my life. Do people get a free desert here if they do a positive yelp review? that is my only guess for why it has so many good reviews. read more

Came here for pho during Friday lunch--pretty busy, which was expected. I've always been curious about this place since it's been around for years, and I finally gave it a try. Overall, I'd call it subpar to decent pho--not great, not terrible, just meh. The portions are generous, especially the meat. Noodles were fine. The broth had decent flavor when warm, but it wasn't hot enough and cooled down quickly. Once it cooled, the flavor really fell flat, and the rare steak didn't fully cook through. The garnishes felt a bit lazy--green onions weren't chopped well, so you'd get random big chunks. That said, the portions will likely leave you full. But if you're here for rich, flavorful pho? Randomly decided to grab dinner here after a Costco trip. This place surprised me, and I'm definitely adding it to my rotation. No complaints here, and a much closer alternative to driving to SJ for pho! The pho broth tasted "cleaner" to me, and I didn't have to down cups of water after eating. I also got the rice plate and tried to switch it up getting the BBQ pork chop but it was too dry for my liking. I need to just stick with the BBQ sliced pork because I can never go wrong there. Located in Mountain View, parking is plentiful and easy to find. The surrounding is pretty nice as there's a Costco and Krispy Kreme. The interior is a bit small but makes good use of the space. Noise level was pretty average but it was quite busy. House Special Beef Noodle Soup (4/5): super flavorful. The meat was tender and chewy. I enjoyed the thin slices of brisket. I wish the oxtail was a bit more cooked though. Tap to pay is accepted. Overall Pho Tran Vu is a great pho place. The food is pretty good, but it does get pretty busy during peak hours. read more

The customer service is very nice and attentive. The food is not bad...but also not as authentic as I would've hoped. The staff are definitely Vietnamese but it's vastly lacking compared to most pho restaurants I've been to. I ordered the bun bo hue and the moment it was placed down I was already surprised to see the color, none of that ruby color whatsoever. But the taste is not bad, for maybe those who are trying bbh for the first time. I could not rly taste the lemongrass and most disappointing is I couldn't taste any of the shrimp paste at all. Perhaps no chili either?! Very much NOT aromatic for an originally rich dish. & It rly felt like looking for scraps of noodles in the bowl, I had maybe only 5 spoonfuls of noodles. The rest were sliced meats but not of good quality.... For bbh I prefer more noodles because the star is the broth. The rest of my family also said their dish was lackluster. It doesn't have the right base and spices as it would normally have. I looked at my husband's bo luc lac and even that didn't look like it usually does. Again, not bad. I think it's a good start for ppl not very familiar with Vietnamese food, but for those who are familiar, it leaves you wanting more in quality and quantity. read more

Located in the same plaza as Costco's Mountain View warehouse, Pho Tran Vu is a humble, local eatery offering a huge menu of Vietnamese dishes. My pick was the Banh Hoi Tom Thit Nuong, a plate of thin woven vermicelli, grilled marinated pork, shrimp, and fresh vegetables, including lettuce, mint, lettuce, daikon, and cucumbers, along with fish sauce on the side for dipping. The plate was set up to make delicious lettuce wraps with the vermicelli, grilled meats, and herbs. I also sampled the pho broth, which was laden with MSG. In general, everything we had was decent, though not at the peak of freshness. Phở Trần Vũ has easily become one of my go-to spots. The food is always fresh, fast, and consistent every single time. I also love how they set everything up so you have your own sauces, chopsticks, and napkins ready to go. No need to flag anyone down just to get the basics. But honestly, the reason I keep coming back goes beyond the food. A lot of Asian restaurants fall short on customer service, they drop off your food, refill water once, and that's about it. But not here. The team at Phở Trần Vũ actually treats you like a real customer. They check in, they make sure you're taken care of, and it feels like they actually want to be doing what they do. Love the pork, shrimp, and lobster spring rolls here so much, and with the sweet and nutty peanut sauce - very delicious! Lobster mango roll has great flavor - rich and tangy. Shrimp has nice bounce. This was a 3.75 experience overall-- I was a fan of the portion size (pretty classic) and the cheaper cash option was a plus. Interior was fairly clean and staff were friendly and efficient. I got the beef belly pho and my only complaint was that the soup was a little saltier than I would've preferred-- definitely needed a lot of water with the meal. I came here with my mom and kids because of the good reviews. I ordered a pho tai bo vien, and my mom ordered something weird they recommended. When our food came out, there was so little noddles in my bowl. About 4 big bites worth. My mom's bowl looked like a pile of mushy stuff in her noodles and was so plain and underwhelming. You know a pho restaurant is good when it's still poppin when it's 90 degrees and people are willing to sit outside to eat. My friend and I went here for lunch and ordered two bowls of their house special pho with wide flat noodles along with two Vietnamese coffees. The broth was so hearty, but light and clean tasting at the same time. The bowls of pho also came with so much meat it was WILD because I was basically eating meat the entire time and was barely able to eat any of my noodles after. Their chili oil is also AMAZING..it had a unique smokey flavor to it and I couldn't stop adding it to my meat. This place is family owned so I could tell they really put extra love and care into all of their food. The servers were hustling to get all the orders out and always made sure everyone was taken care of too. Definitely a go to spot for viet food for me now! read more

After getting seated, we were promptly greeted and offered either complementary hot tea or water. If you're not familiar with the menu here, each person is required to order their own entree, most of which start around $28. My wife ordered a mild tofu soup with mixed proteins while I ordered an abalone bibimbap. In addition to our entrees, we also split a seafood pancake. I'm not the biggest fan of seafood pancake, but the one here is distinctly different than any that I've ever tried before. The texture of the pancake actually tastes very similar to shrimp toast. There's no shortage of seafood in every bite and the pancake is perfectly crispy without tasting oily. The pancake here is on the smaller side, but one pancake is more than enough for a group of 2-3 to share. The abalone in my bibimbap entree is skillfully prepared. There was no rubbery texture at all and the four abalone pieces were all very plump. The stone bowl the bibimbap arrived in wasn't blistering hot, but the bowl still managed to crisp up a bunch of rice on the bottom of the bowl. I appreciate that the spicy sauce is provided on the side so you can control how spiciness and salty the dish is. I absolutely love that each entree comes with an assortment of 10 different types of banchans. My favorites were the imitation crab slaw, the quail eggs, the shrimp cake, and the pumpkin puree with apple chunks. There's a staff member carting around refills of every single banchan, so don't hold back on enjoying your favorite banchan items because they come with unlimited refills. While the food here was fantastic all around, the highlight was truly the service. The warm hospitality of each staff member we interacted with was memorable and greatly appreciated. Special shout-out to Jinny as well, who helped us quickly resolve a small issue where we received white rice instead of purple rice with our tofu soup. If you're looking for next level Korean food with spectacular service, look no further than Kunjip Tofu. I cannot recommend this spot enough.

We had a very bad experience just now. We always eat here and always buy soup and barbecue pork but tonight it was a really bad. At first it's ok if they made a mistake with our order because the lady couldn't understand and speak English well. They don't give water like they in some of the table. Server's are rude! The worst thing is we pay card and they will never ever give you a customer copy! Maybe they are afraid to be audited! I took a picture of the receipt in case they will do something wrong! This is the only restaurant that don't give out a customer copy!!! I just hope the owner will do something about it! The food was excellent but the service is beyond poor!!!!!!! Will tell some of our family and friends to be careful with your credit card, debit etc... because they will never ever give you a customer copy!!! This is so not right at all! I ordered a meatball pho with a side of beef rib and egg rolls through Uber Eats. As I was mixing my noodles, I unfortunately came across a cockroach in my soup. It was really upsetting because I had to throw the entire order away. I reached out to Uber Eats, but they only refunded me for the soup, even though I couldn't eat any of the food. If I want to splurge a bit more, the Bo Luc Lac (cubed garlic steak) is very tasty. Outdoor seating: There are several tables along the shopping center sidewalk in front of the restaurant. Let me start by saying the Thai pineapple chicken and shrimp cashew grid rice was decent. Not the best I've had but not bad. However.... Upon arriving, I explained to the female waitress that I was so excited to get an authentic Vietnamese imperial roll with rice paper. I said indeed, to know how the Vietnamese restaurant near me only serves flour, Chinese or Thai roll and call them Vietnamese when in fact, Vietnamese egg rolls are in rice paper. I read the description of the mperial roll, and nowhere did it say it was *not* made out of rice, and I had expected she understood everything I said because she nodded at length. In fact, I ordered three orders - one to eat there and two to go - so I could bring them home, as I live several hours away. What arrived with inedible. At first, I thought perhaps something was wrong with my tongue because I could not taste anything. Other than the fact it was a flower egg roll paper with this mush of about the size of a pencil in diameter of a filling, where I saw the remnants of clear rice noodles and gray matter. None of the substance appeared to be shrimp, it might have been pork however it had zero flavor. I even pulled it out and put a little on the tip of my tongue to quite literally see if something was wrong with my taste buds, and still, I could not taste a thing. I could only feel the texture. I was absolutely puzzled, and frankly, beginning to gag. She did not come back so I had to finally walk them up to her - with only one bite taken out of one of the rolls and say, "Do you recall I explained it length I was looking for Vietnamese Imperial roles in rice paper, yet this is flour Chinese egg roll paper and I don't understand what's inside because it's not what it says on the menu. Her response: "Mushy paste inside is the filling" and then she went on to tell me that no Vietnamese egg rolls are ever made out of rice paper because, verbatim, "no egg rolls that are fried are made out of rice paper because you cannot fry rice paper or the oil would ooze into your mouth and burn you." I was floored. This woman was working at a Vietnamese fusion restaurant and had clearly never had an actual Vietnamese Imperial roll. I said ma'am, I ordered Vietnamese imperial rolls for more than 40 years around this entire country and they always are made of deep fried rice paper. I would like these taken off my order and I will take my fried rice to go. This woman wanted to fight. She repeatedly said, "but we already made them for you" which I replied "they are inedible and I am not paying for them." She then repeated that Vietnamese eggrolls are never made out of fried rice paper. Only cold rice paper is used in Vietnam's to make the shrimp or vegetarian rolls. I then proceeded to type Vietnamese imperial roles on my phone and showed her dozens of photos of fried imperial rice paper rolls. She continued to fight with me, saying those are flour. I then pulled up recipes, and showed her they clearly use rice paper. She continued to argue. I honestly should've gotten up and walked out of there because I had not eaten more than one bite of food but out of respect for the investment they made in the shrimp and the fried rice I said, please provide me a bill for the fried rice and Diet Coke and I will pay and leave. Begrudgingly she finally did and I provided her a small tip. I don't even know why. If you were looking for authentic Vietnamese food, this is not your place. I then dropped into ChatGPT. Where can I find rice paper imperial rolls near me, I called ahead, made three orders of them, and they were delicious. It was a little further into San Jose, but the name of that restaurant was Com Tan Thanh and judging by the amount of local Asian folks inside, it is clearly the dive of you want to try. If you were looking for Thai food or subpar Asian food at best, that's what you'll find at Indochine.

I ordered the Stir Fry Basil Chicken Bento and was immediately impressed by how much you get. The portion is generous, especially for the price! It was loaded with protein and served with two different vegetable sides and a hard boiled egg. It feels like a complete, well-rounded meal rather than the sad, sparse bentos you sometimes end up with. The basil chicken itself was the star cause it was juicy, aromatic, and had just the right kick on mild. If you have any heat tolerance at all, I'd say go mild without hesitation. It's flavorful without being overwhelming. Ordering is super easy through a kiosk, my food was ready in about 8 minutes, and the staff were genuinely friendly. The whole experience was smooth from start to finish. I'll definitely be back to work through more of the menu. If this bento is any indication of what else they're serving, I have a feeling everything hits.

The soups come out PIPING HOT, the bowls were still sizzling when we got them, and I definitely burned my tongue and the roof of my mouth even after blowing on my spoon for what I thought was a long time. The menu is very vegetarian/vegan friendly, the vegetarian dishes are clearly labelled, and I believe all the vegetarian tofu soups are vegan as long as you don't add egg. Most of the banchan is vegan, except for the kimchi and fish tofu. The banchan I did get to try (cucumber, bean sprout, japchae, potato) were all really good with very distinctive flavors. Meal also comes with purple rice which I enjoyed. The menu is also very kid friendly, my little sister loved the fish tofu soup. The inside is very large and they also have outdoor seating as well. On the wall they have a menu signed by RM of BTS, who I guess came to eat here during the Stanford stop of the tour. In terms of service our main waiter seemed to be in a bit of a bad mood and was not super friendly, but he got the job done lol.
