Overcooked/burnt shaken beef
Amy Y.

Dishes are a hit or miss. The shaken beef was overcooked and the rice was undercooked. If I was eating at the restaurant, I would've sent this dish back, but unfortunately I ordered via uber eats and I'm stuck with it. The grilled pork on rice was actually good. I would recommend this dish. The shrimp over rice was not bad but the pieces were pretty small and you only get 6. If they add just two more pieces to this dish it would've been perfect. Overall I might still order from this restaurant, but would not get the shaken beef again.

We started off with the shrimp spring rolls, and they were super fresh--packed with vermicelli noodles, lettuce, and shrimp, and served with a rich, peanutty dipping sauce topped with crushed peanuts. A perfect light and flavorful appetizer. For my main, I got the pho with steak and added bok choy on the side. The broth was super comforting and came with thinly sliced steak, onions, scallions, cilantro, and the classic sides: bean sprouts, lime, jalapeños, and Thai basil. Such a nice, filling meal for a rainy night! My boyfriend ordered the rice platter, which came stacked with grilled pork chop, egg roll, shredded pork, tofu, a slice of steamed pork cake, salad, and a sunny-side-up egg over rice. Everything looked (and tasted) amazing. Definitely a great spot if you're craving Vietnamese food in a clean and cozy setting. Would go back in a heartbeat!

Good pho ! Not too salty! Big enough to be shared between two people. Sandwich was good as well! Service was great. Despite almost every drink option being unavailable. Nice spot to get a quick bite.

A very nice restaurant to dine in and enjoy a good meal with family, friends, or on your own as well. The restaurant was very clean and peaceful, with plenty of seating available. We were seated immediately and given waters and menus shortly after. There was also a TV screen with a cute snowing video, which added to the cozy and relaxing atmosphere. We started with the tofu spring rolls, which came with peanut sauce and tasted very good and refreshing. It was a nice, light start to the meal. Our waiter was also very nice and always had a kind smile when bringing the food. The food came out fairly quickly and tasted great. My main dish was the B1 which included rice noodles & greens with pork, beef, and two shrimp, all of which were delicious. The meats were marinated, making each bite flavorful and satisfying. The noodles had a great texture and were cooked just right, and the greens were fresh, well-cleaned, and tasted delicious as well. Overall, the flavors were very good. The portion size was good and filling. The table had different sauces available like siracha, fish sauce, vinegars, etc. so you could customize the dishes to fit your preferences. The dishes with meats came well-marinated, with simple but nice flavors, making it easy to personalize to your liking. I also tried the pho, which had a very flavorful broth and perfectly cooked/textured noodles. I didn't get a chance to try the banh mi sandwich, but it looked great as well.

Create your own pho Got: fat brisket, well done brisket, and well done flank as the protein

Ambiance & Service: place was spacious and clean. We walked in on a Monday afternoon (around 4pm) so it's wasn't too busy. Our server seated us, got us menus and water pretty quick. Server was nice and patiently waited for us to dedecide what we wanted to eat. Food: We ordered the vegetable summer rolls, make your own pho bowl, vegetarian bahn mi sandwich and a rice vermicelli/meat dish. All were tasty. Make your own Pho includes 3 proteins (i got the fat brisket, well done brisket, and well done flank), bean sprouts, basil, jalapeños, and lime. You can also get additional toppings like tofu, broccoli, etc for extra charge. I didn't get anything extra and it was still very tasty. 5/5 Banh mi was good but I wish it had more flavor. One of my fav places added egg roll to their vegetarian banh mis which made it amazing. I think this place should incorporate that. Currently, the vegetarian banh mi wasn't memorable. 3.5/5 Rice vermicelli/ meat dish - all the meat were flavorful and grilled to perfection. Was surprised by how well they marinated the meats. 5/5 Veggie summer roll was a good start to the meal as it was refreshing. Loved the peanut sauce it came with. Without it, it would have been bland. 4/5 You can also add sauces (e.g. hoisen, siracha, fish sauce, flavor enhancer) to you of your dish if you want as these sauces were on the table.

I ordered the Com Bo Luc Lac (Shaking beef on rice). This was pretty good however the beef was cooked a little too well done compared to what I have order several time at their South Plainfield location. Aside from that, I did enjoy the meal and I do recommend their oil chili sauce with this meal.

We decided to come back today because my youngest daughter loves it here. Although she doesn't eat the Vermicelli the traditional way she loves the noodles and Bbq pork and she loves the fish sauce they use. It was pretty busy when we got there but service is pretty quick . I ordered fried egg rolls, spring rolls , bbq pork bahn mi, bbq pork with Vermicelli, and deconstructed Vermicelli

Like the food! Good service! Ambiance is relaxing with comfortable chairs and wide table! Good for group dining. See images for reference.

Veggie serving size

Delicious food and a helpful staff makes this a really solid option in the Bridgewater area pho. Well, it is a little bit on the pricey side. The portions are solid and staff work amazingly well to get the food out quickly.

Grilled pork summer roll

**3.5 rounded up to 4** Came here for dinner on a weeknight. I usually go to the South Plainfield location but was in the area and my wife and I were craving soup so decided to try this location out. We ordered the grilled pork summer roll, pho dac biet and bun bo hue. The grilled pork summer roll is something I don't usually order but glad I did. It's the same delicious grilled pork that you would get in one of the main rice or noodle plates. Also, they added pickled daikon and carrots in the roll which was a nice surprise. The pho dac biet is usually one of my go to's because it comes with a variety of proteins. It had good traditional pho flavor and the meats, tripe and tendon were all cooked well. The bun bo hue was also good but I've definitely had better elsewhere. Other places I've been to, they usually use pork knuckle while here they used thin sliced boneless pork chop. Overall I think the food is on the same level as the South Plainfield location. The decor inside is fairly nice. The service though was slow do to the lack of servers. It took us a while from the time we were done eating to the time we were able to get the check.

Do you provide delivery during covid-19?

Yes we provide delivery up to ~15mins from the restaurant :)

Do you guys deliver?

They can deliver through food delivery apps like DoorDash!

What happened to the restaurant? There's a sign on the door saying it's not safe for human occupancy, but the adjacent businesses are still open.

Went last week to find the sign on the door. Something about fire code. I need them to reopen soon!!

I got the Mia's sampler for an appetizer and it was tasty but kinda small. It had two small pieces of dumplings, mini egg rolls and wontons for $17. I also got a cup of just their pho broth for the extra vermicelli and it was delicious! My 8 year old actually put his egg rolls down to drink up all the broth because it was so good. The initial customer service was warm and welcoming, and we were seated promptly. However, once our food arrived, it felt like the service tapered off. No one checked in on us throughout the meal to see if we needed anything or if everything was to our liking. A few table touches would have made the dining experience feel much more attentive. For appetizers, we ordered the shrimp and pork spring rolls. They were fresh and delicious, though I do think the portion size could be a bit larger for the $6.95 price. For our entrees, we both ordered the oxtail pho. It looked very appetizing when it arrived. I always like to take a sip of the broth before adding any condiments so I can appreciate its natural flavor. Unfortunately, the broth was very bland and lacked the rich, aromatic depth I expect from a good pho. It was disappointing because the presentation was excellent, but the broth ultimately fell short of expectations. Overall, the experience had a strong start with friendly service and prompt food delivery, but the lack of follow-up service and the underwhelming broth left me disappointed. With a more flavorful broth and more attentive service throughout the meal, this could be a much better dining experience.

There were many empty tables with dirty dishes left on them, which to me suggested they were understaffed that day. To my knowledge, Lua was recently constructed, however the booth seating was already ripping and the floor and booth seams were honestly grimy. I would've expected those from a hole in the wall restaurant, but it looks really modern and "elevated" inside. My menu was dirty and I didn't realize it was missing some pages (because the pages ripped from the staple) so I thought the menu was a lot smaller than it was. I hope they find a better way of cleaning the restaurant interior and menus, and update the menus to higher quality. I ordered (S3)- Vietnamese Dried Noodles, which came with a bowl of soup. The rest of my party ordered (A16)- Butter Glazed Fried Quail and (B4)- Grilled Pork and Spring Roll on Rice Vermicelli. -I ended up eating the (S3) Dried Noodles for four days because of the shear quantity of them, so to me it was incredible value. And it had a fair portion of seafood and the flavor was actually surprisingly super delicious, if not a bit sweet. I had an upset stomach that day and was happily surprised this dish came with soup. I would reorder this, especially if I was hungry. -For me, the quail (A16) was a little dry but well seasoned. There were two quails in the serving. I would reorder this again only if I was craving small bites. - The pork chop (B4) was on the above average side in terms of taste, but fairly large in terms of size. There was rice, spring roll, egg omlette, along with other sides. Overall, Lua Vietnamese Restaurant had an extensive menu and I really enjoyed the food. However, while the food was quick to come out, the table service was painfully slow and the interior was grimy. I'd recommend giving it a try if you're in the area, but not in a rush.
