I love Vietnamese food. Especially, pho in a cold weather. It feels like a natural remedy for cold, so I have high expectations for the Pho. First, don't let the name fool you. This is not just a Vietnamese restaurant more like an Asian restaurant with sushi, noodles etc. Let's talk about Pho. It is basic nothing special and little bit on salty side. I am not sure if they have msg or not, but definitely it makes you thirsty. They have chicken , sea food and beef pho and other asian food options. It is located next to HEB in Kyle Marketplace. You seat yourself. Service is fast and friendly. It is an okay choice for Pho when you have no other options.

I've always been up the location located in South Park meadows but the Kyle location has the same menu and atmosphere! Service is great and food is delicious!

The food here is so good me and family have been coming here for 5 years and we had finally ordered in and sat down and the service was wonderful, I love the Chef Pho, Vietnamese Coffee, and Chicken Curry is amazing!! I would highly recommend to go in and try it out! It's clean and such a good environment. and the dumplings are delicious.

My bf & I were craving Vietnamese food and thought we would try this place. I was disappointed in how much it was lacking flavor and love. We ended up having to throw away.

We ate here a few weeks ago and loved it. We came after work and were seated immediately without having a reservation. Our waitress was very friendly as well. As for the food, the kitchen got everything out incredibly fast once we ordered. Both the Louisiana roll & rainbow roll were delicious. The fried rice was fantastic, and the dynamite shrimp was solid. Only thing I probably wouldn't get again was the crab rangoons. Overall though, five stars! This is a good spot.

I ordered the crunchy California roll and edamame - both were very good and tasted fresh. Food arrived very quickly. Server was friendly. I sat on the patio which is a nice option to have. A good quick choice for lunch when you're craving sushi/ Vietnamese food!

Big shout out to Pho Thaison and their extensive vegetarian menu! My friend is visiting and a vegetarian so I was so pleased that Pho Thaison had plenty of options. Isabella helped us and she was so nice and accommodating with special requests. The restaurant including bathrooms were super clean. Color me impressed on my first foray in Kyle TX. Thanks!

Update 4: Since last update, 5 years ago, this has consistently been a place we know we can get a good meal and wonderful service. Consistently. That's a big think given the past few years AND Kyle's food choices blowing up with tons of chain restaurants. Kudos to the family who runs it. We went in for dinner the other night and everyone was happy with their food, the staff was wonderful and we got bonus sushi. I'd ordered the spicy salmon roll and the spicy tuna roll came out. They quickly and happily made it right and left the tuna roll to the table. Still I say the best bang for your buck is the delicious grilled pork vermicelli bowl. My wife liked the pho. The sushi is tasty. It's been close to 15 years in Kyle and are one of the top choices each time we discuss where to eat.

Yo! What even this is? If this was a joke, it's kinda funny. Is this a sloppy Joe version of banh xeo or something? Idk y'all, I've had these my entire life and this ain't how you make banh xeo lol. I give two stars because the flavor ain't bad, but nah please don't tell me a Vietnamese person made these because you might want to stop whipping up in that kitchen. Sorry, but this is pretty terrible.

    Pad thai-son with chicken

Guys, this place is so GOOD. From the service to the food to the serving sizes, everything was top notch! Our waitress was very attentive, refilling my cup every time it was empty. I ordered the crab rangoons and pad thai-son with chicken non-spicy. The crab rangoons were perfectly crispy and exactly what you'd expect from crab rangoons, but it could've had slightly more filling. The pad thai-son was perfection: the noodles were firm, the sauce was deliciously seasoned, the chicken was moist and flavorful, and the serving size was gigantic. I ate until I was full and still had a whole plate of food left. The ambiance was okay, but honestly I was more focused on the food. Overall, I will definitely be coming here again!

Probably the best Pho south of Austin. The ambiance of the establishment is simple with focus being on the food. TV's are scarce so it encourages conversation and eating rather than needless outside influences, ahem... put down the phones! The edamame is good and traditional, the egg rolls are tasty and the seaweed salad hits all the right notes. The pork ribs I found a little dry but the flavor profile and the meat are very good. Other notable apps are the fried calamari, crab rangoons and the dynamite shrimp. On to the main dishes. I ordered the Saigon yellow curry with pork and it wasn't very good with little protein. I asked for mild and got very hot, in fact my eyes were watering the whole time. Moreover, it didn't taste like yellow curry and lacked a lot of the mellow coconut cream flavor. The fried rice was serviceable but without any flair. Finally, the Pad Thai was decent but the details were glazed over. Very little fish sauce in the back ground, only a few shrimp, and my mouth struggled to find the tamarind. That said all the signature toppings were present and cooked accordingly. As for the signature dish, I opted for Beef Pho, it's the best I've had so far. In fact it was so good, it swayed my opinion of Ramen vs Pho to be about equal depending on my mood. The broth was flavorful, the options were fresh and plentiful (sprouts, basil, cilantro, etc). The only critique I have is the eye of round should be raw at the table, so I can control the cooking. Instead it was already in the soup, making it overdone by the end of the meal. That said, I'm going back and tell the server to put it on the side and I'm sure it will be a five star experience. All in all PhoThaiSon is a good restaurant. The apps and Pho really shine and the staff is quick to give you the meal and extremely helpful. Entrees outside of the Pho need a bit of work but can satisfy in a pinch. I've been three times and will be going back for some outstanding Pho!

How are the sushi rolls here? Basic, ok? imitation crab, or soft shell?

I really love the authentic sushi they provide, the sushi rolls are great.i would say that the crab isn't imitation but please verify. I doubt you can go wrong with them no matter what you go with

Such is our quest for delicious Chinese food. By reference the foods that captured our hearts and senses in cities in the Northeast and Far west. Moving to Texas we took that quest with us and recently on a cool summer evening we drove out to Kyle to dine at Koy Chinese & Sushi Restaurant. That drive was not worth the cost of gas. The food was practically nonedible. The egg roll was cooked in what tasted like old oil as did the shrimp served as sweet and sour. the presentation consisted of quartered strips of shrimp in an over cooked batter colored dark from old oil, a few pieces of green pepper, a hunk of onion and a ramekin of sweet and sour sauce. We had another chicken with vegetables dish in a white sause that was flovorless. Very disaopointing. NO return for us!

What is our purpose? It's a question asked and never answered. As we sit on this floating rock…read moreaddicted to our curated algorithm, I worry our drive and desire for purpose is lessening. One weekend of whimsy and joy is enough to refuel the tank and bring that drive back. One $23 expenditure at Kobe Steak House & Sushi is enough to turn the light back on in my mind and create a divine spiritual experience. While visiting San Marcos for a friend's birthday, we were ultimately led to Kobe for dinner at the recommendation of his roommate. My friend was very excited to put some work in. We arrived a little before 7:45, and after a confusing queue where they messaged us that our table was ready before it was actually ready, we were seated at 8:00. Once you're seated, the waitstaff takes a drink order and explains the process if you need it. I'll explain it here: you're given a piece of paper where you mark what you want from a list identical to the menu. With a group, it's important to collaborate and make sure you get a good order in but not overdo it. Every piece you don't eat is a $.75 charge, so unless you have someone like me who locks in, be careful. For starters, they serve soup, appetizers like edamame, fried rice, rangoon, wontons, and more, plus salads. You order them at the same time as the sushi, but they come faster because the sushi has to be prepared at the bar. The sushi includes your traditional nigiri plus maki and specialty rolls. Once we threw in that first order, we were shortly munching on wontons, rangoon, fried rice, and everything in between. Everything here was good. Nothing too extreme flavor-wise or anything too memorable, but there was nothing I didn't like. Our first plate of sushi came out about 20-25 minutes after we placed the order. Off the dome, we ordered octopus nigiri, salmon nigiri, red snapper nigiri, a Philadelphia roll, a Shaggy Dog roll, a Spider roll, and a few other things I can't remember. I do strongly remember how heavenly the Shaggy Dog and Spider rolls were. It's important to understand that Kobe is not a premium sushi restaurant. Similar concepts that are higher-end can cost $50-$70 a person, and I think you can obviously tell how amazing higher-end sushi is. That concept and this concept are playing a different game. Kobe is in a college town where hungry college kids will shove as many rolls down their throats as they can. For the value, the quality is shockingly high in my opinion. However, I was moving sushi rolls through my system with such efficiency that it's hard to figure out if the rice was old or the sushi had freezer burn like another Yelp review said. Who cares. This place is doing exactly what it's advertising, and you're getting a better deal than what you're paying for. How can this be profitable for Kobe Steak House & Sushi? Our second order had another Shaggy Dog roll, another Spider roll, a TNT roll, and some more nigiri. By the time we burned through that, most of the table was full. I personally could have kept going, but everyone else was a quitter. At least that's what we thought. After our great waitress brought us our checks and we all paid, one of my friends made a big stink about how no one else wanted more and she would've had another Shaggy Dog roll. I wasn't going to let that slide, as I had voiced my opinion of getting another roll going well in advance. The waitress was nice enough to get us another roll after I proceeded to embarrass our entire table about it. We left Kobe before the managerial staff came out and beat us up one by one for being the most annoying table in Kobe history, but it was all worth it. Kobe is one of the best $23 meals I've ever had. A place that made me wish I had gotten a degree at Texas State. It opened my third eye. It was a meal so good we had to pull out the Tarot cards. RIYL: Tim Allen's 2006 family comedy film The Shaggy Dog

I first want to say that our server Madison was wonderful and so friendly!…read more Outside the service, we were disappointed in Kobe. We may be a little spoiled after living in Vegas when it comes to fish quality, and the $15.99 AYCE lunch price may have been a clue, but this was not a solid meal. Some of the fish, specifically the albacore nigiri, was not fresh and was almost dry on top. The salmon was fine, but the tuna was cut poorly and had no flavor. The salmon, tuna rolls had a substantial amount of rice instead of fish, and I've never seen a tuna avocado roll with cream cheese before? At the most maybe some cucumber, but not cream cheese. And the fish in the salmon/tuna rolls was shredded like it was the leftover shreds from nigiri or other rolls. The rice was dry and old, perfect for fried rice, but not sushi. The only rolls that were OK were the Mexican Roll and the Tokyo roll, and they were fine, but then my son had the albacore nigiri and stopped eating. The seats were all torn up as well. The restaurant would benefit from a refresh. I'm not looking for a super fancy, especially when the prices are what they are, but there was a lot of opportunity here.

We ordered gyoza as an appetizer. Took a little longer than expected but it tasted pretty good. I personally like mine crispy and this was a little more soft but flavor was good. Then we ordered either the General Tsos or Chicken Katsu (can't remember which!) My husband said it was ok. (But he's also a bit picky). It did come with soup which was your average Asian soup that comes with the meal. I believe it was the clear soup. I ordered the Otsu roll and that was delicious!!! My hubby tried that and he liked it so we ordered another! In fact, we've been back 2x since just to get that roll. It's deep fried with cream cheese, cooked or smoked salmon and eel sauce. Yum! The reason I gave it a 4 stars was for the softer gyoza and for the very slow service. The waiter was very kind and pleasant but he was the only one serving so at one point my husband had to get up and look for him and ask the chef to place another order because we had been waiting again for the waiter which we had to do a few times during our visit. All in all, we will be back! Loved the coziness, the non crowded space and most of the dishes.
