Decent pho place inside the Michael Buble strip mall (where he filmed the video "Haven't Met You Yet"). This place is on the E side. Parking is plentiful in the strip mall lot. The place has line green and bright orange walls. Reminds me of smoothies. Staff were friendly. No problems. This place has a few unique dishes. Steak garlic pho was the one that stuck out for me. Tastes exactly like it sounds. The steak was more cooked than what I was expecting (it wasn't rare), but no biggie. Pretty tasty. Soup was nice and light. My friend thought the soup was rather bland, but personally I thought it was fine, as personally I find that most places are too salty. Personal preference. I'd definitely come back at some point. The menu does have interesting items like garlic steak pho. I decided to get the small rare beef and beef ball pho. It was ok. I didn't really like it as the broth was very light tasting. It did not have the beefy broth taste. The soup got a bit more taste towards the end, maybe when some of the dip (hoisin sauce, sriracha and chili oil) got into it. Maybe that's why the broth is bland so that customers can add their own sauce? There is a bottle of soy sauce with salt and pepper on the table too. The noodle is not the usual thin type but is broader. The small has more noodles than meat. Usually at other pho restaurants, I am left with lots of meat but here, there is more noodle left. And I usually order small portion. It is quite a popular place as I do see many people eating here and ordering take out. Just not for me. read more

Got a banh mi from this neighbourhood restaurant and although it wasn't bad, there was definitely nothing that stood out other than the crispy bread (which was likely purchased from the supermarket next door). There wasnt quite enough chicken in the banh mi and their picked veggies did not have very much flavour. It was an average price at 5.50 but you can't expect too much from a place that doesn't specialize in banh mis! Very bland vegetable pho, but a good portion and tons of veggies. I stopped in to try their vegetable pho (you have to ask for veggie broth; $13.50). The soup came out in about 5 minutes. You get a massive portion of medium width rice noodles and a huge portion of veggies (broccoli, bok choy, green cabbage, carrot and onion) -- no tofu though, which would've been nice. The broth was very mild, without much depth at all. At least they had homemade chili oil sitting on the side to amp things up, which does make it pretty nice. Loved that I got so many veggies, but would've liked some tofu and a more interesting broth. OK veggie pho; there are many better places in Greater Van. read more

My Stepmom's grilled lemongrass chicken vermicelli looked dried as heck and she confirmed it was extremely over cooked and flavourless. They also forgot to give her fish sauce. Bbh was basically a beef pho with a tint of mildest spice and bland in flavour. Their salad rolls were wrapped nicely and thick but very little prawn mostly filler like vermicelli and shredded carrots. The tea cups were dirty so that was also off putting. I came here looking for a quick dinner after visiting the nearby Fair Haven nursing home at 7 p.m. on a weekday evening, the small space without much room for distancing was almost full. Since I visit nursing home frequently, I waited outside until there was only one table of customers left. I ordered the Steak Garlic Pho as it seemed to be the special dish of this restaurant, I also added a Special Spring Roll. The Steak Garlic Pho was indeed quite good, the steak is tastier than having rare beef in pho. However, because it was near closing time, there was no bean sprouts left. Another disappointment is that some of the noodles stuck together. The Special Spring Roll was also well done, it is tasty but not oily. Both dishes were priced affordably. Pho Thai Ha is located in the Killarney Centre on 49th and Elliot in Vancouver. I decided to try this place out because the ratings were pretty good and I've been craving banh mi sandwiches again. However, instead of just ordering a banh mi, I also ordered the Garlic Butter Chicken Wings ($12.50). The wings were okay but nothing special. The House Special Viet Sub ($5.50) wasn't the best that I've had. While the baguette was definitely crusty, I found the inside of the bread was almost a bit stale. Also, there really wasn't much meat in the filling (although the price point does make up for that a bit). Literally my go to spot for Viet food! I love this mom and pop restaurant. The food never misses and the staff are so incredibly sweet. My partner and I have a little place in our heart for this establishment and their staff. I order here when I'm sick, tired and just straight up hungry! I've taken my whole family here and the experience is always great. Their pho and vermicelli bowls are delicious but the real gem is the house special pork vermicelli dish (I can't remember the exact name of it) I saw another customer enjoying it one time and decided to order it because it just seemed so good. Happened to drive by during dinner time & noticed this tiny Pho place. I haven't got high expectations when I entered only find the place is quite spacious, minimal decor and well-lit in "orange/green" wall. The menu is just like the name, as simple as it can be- in black & white, English only with 2 page, no combos & really not much to choose. I am impressed when my food arrives coz they have put an effort to touch up the presentation and make it look nice on every dish. Taste is alright & definitely not MSG free. Service is a-ok. Good pho! Loved that there was bak choy instead of cauliflower which is simply filler that lacks much nutrients. Carrots were perfect. Came on a weekday afternoon so there was plenty of room. Service is similar to most pho places. I tired the large chef's special and it was yummy. The broth had more flavor than usual. I think it was infused with garlic. Also, the meat was cooked and marinated which added more flavor. I have yet to try to the other dishes, but was very satisfied with the chef's special pho. The first time I introduced my sweetie to Vietnamese food was such a success that, when we ended up in this neighbourhood after a long day of running errands, I decided to try the experiment again, and again, it was a success. Pho Thái Hà is a little hole in the wall with only about half a dozen tables, so it's not really suitable for large groups. But clearly, word has gotten around, as a number of people came in for pickups or sat down to eat while we were there. I have seen places that serve pho and nothing else, I have seen places that serve Vietnamese subs (which a former co-worker used to rave about), and I have seen places that serve roll dip, steamed crepes, and brochettes. This place has the longest menu of any Vietnamese place I've tried so far. The food was good and reasonably priced, and the service was friendly. We'll probably want to eat here again the next time we're in that part of town. My sweetie particularly liked the wonton soup, which came with vegetables, and not just the wontons in broth. Unfortunately, like other Vietnamese places, the menu leans heavily on things like rice and rice noodles. Wow. Fresh ingredients and nice clean soup. Hard to make it taste this good without MSG. I had the rare beef with beef ball and the soup was outstanding. Lemon grass chicken on vermicilli was also excellent - nice grilled chicken flavor mixed with fresh veges and cucumber was quite refreshing. The place is a little small and order can take longer than other Pho's with premade and always boiling standby soup but it is worth the wait. I feel like I've been waiting an unnecessarily long time for this pho place to open. However it was definitely not worth the wait. This restaurant closes early (8:00pm) in comparison to most Vietnamese restaurants, especially those claiming to be pho "specialists." Despite the hours, we eventually made time to come here. Cons: - Deep fried spring rolls were only half-filled, with each bite more pastry filled than the last. Filling was generic and without flavour. The wrapper used was decidedly unauthentic, they used wonton style wrappers. - The broth was bland and although it was not inedible, it was so bland I decided not to finish it (left 3/4 of my soup untouched). I felt that the broth was literally water with a few lashings of 5 spice powder. - Vegetable garnishes (thai basil, shallots, green onions) were very sparsely provided. - There were 2 sizes of pho to choose from - small and large. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. The place is small and well kept. The service was friendly and accomodating. I liked that the menu was easy to follow and had pictures of menu items that were true to what was served. From observation everyone I ate with were given generous portions as well as all the ingredients were fresh and the meals tasted as great as they looked. I had a large rare steak and brisket pho, my companions ordered lemon grass chicken rice dish with spring roll, small beef ball pho, and their special streak garlic pho. So delicious! Addicted to the Lemongrass Chicken Noodle Soup! I just moved to this neighbourhood and there aren't as many food choices a I'm used to, so I was really happy to find this place. I've had takeout chicken pho about 5 times already. The broth is nice and flavourful, the chicken is good quality, and the portion is BIG - I almost can't finish it (but always do cause it's so yummy!) The restaurant has very simple but pleasant decor, so I'd be happy to dine in here any time. The lady who serves is super nice too. All in all, an awesome dining experience. Yes, my wife and I enjoy our Vietnamese cuisine. When we saw a new pho restaurant come into our neighbourhood, we got excited. We love our lemongrass chicken. She had it on rice and I had in a noodle soup. We also shared salad rolls. The food came fast and was fresh and more importantly it was very good. Our server was very friendly, she even ran after us in the parking lot to give us our left overs. The prices seemed compatible to most other Vietnamese places we've been to. Will we go back? Yes! I finally got around to trying out Pho Real and I was pleasantly surprised. Though the broth in my rare beef pho was not as rich as in some other well established Vietnamese places in town, but the dish and accompanying salad rolls were fresh and well presented, the premises felt clean and the service was friendly. I ordered a chicken sandwich for take-out. It was delicious. The chicken was very tender and the vietnamese cole slaw inside had a nice crunch. It was a wonderful meal in a very fresh bun.
