Very bad service. I was very disappointed with the service. The restaurant was not busy at all, but no one came to check on our table for more than 10 minutes after serving the pho. The side garnishes were not brought until I asked, and even the sauces only came at the end of the meal. By the time the server finally brought the garnishes and the sauces, the soup had already become very cold. The server never checked if we needed anything during the whole time. We ordered vegetable egg rolls and they were soggy and mushy in the center.. all 5 were the same. My daughter had an order of tofu and vegetables. The tofu was oily and unflavored. Tried this newly opened restaurant for our anniversary last night. Restaurant is clean and love the giant cherry blossom tree as well as the bubble fountain thing. Being new and coming in just over an hour before closing they we were the only sit down customers, but they had a steady stream of pick up orders. Our waitress was very nice and our food came very fast. We got the appetizer sampler (forgot to get a photo) which normally comes with two each of crispy egg roll, coconut shrimp, crab rangoon, potstickers and tempura shrimp. We opted to sub the tempura shrimp for more rangoons. The egg roll was pork and nice and crispy, I liked it will enough. The potstickers were fine. The rangoon wrapper was too thick in my opinion and the filling mostly just tastes like cream cheese. I don't mind at all that it's imitation crab and there was a tiny amount of green onions, but more green onions would have saved these for me. More green onions and a less thick wrapper would make me get these again. I really really liked the coconut shrimp though. They aren't as giant as the red lobster ones, but they were big enough for an appetizer and the coconut flavor and crunch were spot on! I will definitely get those again. I ended up going with the sesame chicken since I knew my husband was getting the lemongrass chicken. It was fine. I won't get it again, but not because anything was wrong, it just wasn't stand out good. The breading was cooked nicely, the sauce was just the right amount. It looks beautiful, it just didn't have a flavor that cravable. The house fried rice has chicken, sausage, bbq pork, shrimp and pineapple. We opted for no shrimp. It's really yummy. The only thing I would change is more basil, because it was hard to taste and makes a fried rice like this over the top good. The lemongrass chicken. When I tell you that I am constantly on the lookout for excellent Vietnamese lemongrass chicken, I mean ANY time I come across a Vietnamese restaurant it's the first thing I look for and you'd be surprised at how often it's disappointing. There is another local place that I got lemongrass chicken from and I couldn't taste ANY lemongrass in it at all. The dish was yummy, but not lemongrass. Lemongrass chicken should punch you in the taste buds with lemongrass flavor and this dish delivered! Not only that but it has these giant pieces of jalapeño in it that give it just the right little kick of heat (glad they were giant so they could be removed) and if you like to eat big pieces of jalapeño then go for it lol. The chicken was sooooo tender, which usually isn't the case for the skinny chicken that's usually in this dish. Most places, even if the flavor is spot on, overcook the chicken. 10/10 will be ordering it again. Oh, and they have Thai iced tea. There are two kinds of Thai iced tea in restaurants, one is the tea with half and half poured on just before serving and the kind that has sweetened condensed milk in the tea base and evaporated milk is added just before serving. People usually have a preference and I suspect it's a lot to do with whichever one you had first. My preference is the latter, with the sweetened condensed milk and evaporated milk (but not overly sweet) this restaurant serves the former with the half and half. It was good for that kind, definitely not too sweet, but not the kind that makes me happy in my face hole. Overall I will definitely be going back for the coconut shrimp, lemongrass chicken and fried rice and I'll keep trying other things on the menu as well. Bonus, they accept card payments :) Update: I actually like the Sesame Chicken next day cold! It's a little hard (as to be expected) but more importantly it's not soggy. read more

Well, I have to say that I and my wife really enjoyed going to this restaurant. Very clean quiet I don't need 300 people in the restaurant when I'm trying to eat my meal, but most of all I would tell you on cold wet days they don't make soup any better than this place all of their food gets 10 stars from me and my wife I will continue to go to this restaurant simply because of the things I have said above. read more

The food was as good as it looked very tasty and my plate was empty when I was done eating. The plates were very nice the silverware all brand new, even with a very nice set chopsticks. The inside was done up. Nice tile, nice seating and even a tree. The service was right on top of everything and I have to say they definitely keep the place very clean. They worked on it most of the time we were there. Go try it! I think it is going to be a good addition to auburn. read more

Welllll, I am surprised at these good reviews, as this was not my experience at all. I went back a second time to give them another shot. (lunch both times) We were the only ones in the restaurant the entire time for lunch. The waiter was not attentive; and the restaurant was empty. The chef ran out of items both times I went there; and the food was overpriced for what we received. I will not be going there again. Disappointing as I thought it was something needed in that part of Auburn, however, I think they have a lot of work to do before it would deserve 4 stars let alone 5 stars. read more

Wow new chinese and pho spot in auburn! Its a good rest stop going reno or tahoe! Cant wait to try out the pho. The prices are pretty reasonable for the quality they offer. I ordered Pho Ga, which was chicken noodle soup with Bil choy. It hit the spot!! It was very good and was exactly why I came here. The menu is extensive though. The service was excellent! The soace is decorated with colorful paintings on the wall, a large flowering tree and other nice touches. Even with all of the decorations, the layout still had the feel of a former fast food restaurant. Despite that, I will absolutely be back to try other items on their menu. read more

I liked the filet mignon and brisket pho, a bit salty for my taste, but still great hangover food. The pan fried crispy noodles were yummy. The Chinese food is unexpectedly really good, better than the Chinese restaurants around in Auburn. I've tried this restaurant three times and every time the food was good. My daughter and I were in Auburn for my uncle's memorial this weekend. We decided to go to Pho Tasty, since it was near our hotel, and were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was that we ordered. It was quiet for an early Friday evening. There is a cherry blossom tree in the middle of the floor. The layout shows it was clearly a prior, fast food , restaurant but it was clean with plenty of space. Service was prompt and courteous. My daughter ordered a small bowl of pho with filet mignon. I ordered the vermicelli with pork. We shared an order of pork spring rolls. The pho was excellent with great tasting broth, plenty of noodles, and plenty of tender beef. She was unable to finish the bowl. The vermicelli had a large portion as well with plenty of pork that was not fatty, halved peanuts that made it easier to eat with chopsticks, fresh veggies with lots of mint, shredded carrots, and lettuce. The spring rolls were enormous. Lots of green leaf lettuce and pork that was evenly balanced with glass noodles. The peanut sauce was delicious as well. We were unsure of the quality since we are from Orange County and we have a lot of food to compare Pho Tasty with- it is one of the best Pho places we have eaten at and would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great Vietnamese food. read more
