This place stands out not because of their pho but the slow service. It felt like almost a good 15 - 20 min before we got our noodle soups, which honestly is an eternity by pho-serving standards. However the beef brisket is quite a bit more tender than average so I'll cut them some slack. But then the broth is likely saltier and noodles firmer than your usual pho joint hence the 3* given. read more

Very respectable 3.75 stars for a pho out here in a very busy compact plaza with Royal Bank & a Subway as anchors. Shell gas & timmy's across but I digress. While the pho was good, the salad rolls were even better; fresh, good-size shrimp and an amazing thick, peanut butter sauce. No cheaping out here. From the outside, doesn't look big but it's a good 50-seater. while not targeting the ethnic market, still quite authentic enough. This is my go to place for pho. They have the best lemon grass chicken on rice ($11.50). It's soooo flavourful and the portion is big! You always get two pieces of chicken with rice and some salad on the side. Their pho is also very good, authentic broth and you can't taste the msg although I'm sure they put it in there..... service can be hit n miss. The older lady with blonde hair is really nice, would start a conversation with you but the rest kind of just look like they want to work and go home. We stopped by this restaurant for lunch. We ordered two bowls of pho and an iced Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk. We were seated promptly and given menus. Orders were taken as soon as we flagged a server's attention. Then it went downhill from there. Pho arrived in about 15 minutes later. Good portion for the price. Decent amount of meat. Broth tasted light and did not have a strong fish sauce flavour. We asked the server where was the ice coffee and she said it takes time to make the drink. We kept eating until we finished our meal only to see a server drop off iced coffee at a different table. It took the other customer some time to flag the server that it was not his coffee. The server picked up the coffee and proceeded to drop the coffee off to us. At that point, we refused to take the coffee and asked for the item to remove from our bill. We also realized that the coffee was made in the kitchen. Unlike most restaurants, they do not provide a coffee filter to brew the coffee at the table side. Then you would pour the freshly brewed coffee over a glass of condensed milk and mix the two before pouring into a glass of ice. Who knows how fresh that coffee was? And why would it take over 30 minutes to make? The drinks should always be served early into the meal. The servers did not seem to care about the service they provided. I will not return. I suggest Super Pho VN for similarly loaded pho at a better price and service. read more

The quality of the food is average. Lemon grass chicken was fairly dry and flavourless but House special chow mein and pho is fine. Customer service has a serious affect on the restaurant, even if the food is good or not. It was completely unacceptable. There wasn't a hello, goodbye or thank you's from the waiters. The week night, my family and I went was not busy. So, I don't understand why, I needed to wave, say hello, excuse me, to get a refill on tea or an extra plate?! Waiters need to minimize their chatting amongst each other and damn serve your customers! I definitely do not recommend. Pho Tao Bay or Pho Tam, is better food and service! read more

Short version: terrible service, poor food quality overall, prices that can't be justified. Long version: I went to Pho Stanley 3 different times, with each time being worse than the last. The pho broth is the only tolerable thing they have. The crispy wontons were small, overcooked, and probably frozen. The agedashi tofu is bulky squares of fried tofu in a very small pool of flavourless sauce. The well done flank in their pho was absolutely disgusting, being 90% inedible fat. THE WORST PART IS THE SERVICE. YOU HAVE TO GO UP TO THE COUNTER TO ORDER OR YOU'LL JUST SIT THERE. THE EMPLOYEES DON'T SEEM TO CARE OR WANT TO BE FRIENDLY. Do not eat here. read more

The place was extremely clean, the owner respected social distancing rules and they also had a plastic barrier at the cash register to protect both of us during these crazy times. Get a #37 with chicken. Chicken brochette with rice noodles and spring rolls. It's tasty, filling and cheap! This is a fantastic Vietnamese restaurant and I frequent here for lunch often. They've got a big and bright dinning room now that the renovations are complete. They only downside is, now they're even busier. Food here is always freshly prepared and consistently good. The tea is free and keeps flowing. The only real down side, is the staff isn't very attentive. It can take awhile to get service and some of the waitress can be a little abrupt. read more

I eat here several times a month. The pho is excellent. I also like any of their dishes with the marinated pork brochette it is tender and wonderfully seasoned. The service is spotty since there are usually only 2 servers working the house. For context - I've lived on the area for 15+ years having come here as a kid with my parents when it was just a small door in a strip mall. Now I come here at least once a month and I used to every week. This is hands down my favourite Pho place to eat. I have tried many in cities farther than Vancouver and nothing compares. I always order the salad rolls or springs rolls (their wonton soup, seafood chow Mein and #37 are also big winners) and it's because their peanut sauce is to die for. It's just that good. The fish sauce is also remarkable and often comes ever so slightly spiced, which I love. It loses a star for the service that we consistently receive - which is mediocre some days and slight attitude others - but the family that owns the restaurant is quite friendly it's just too bad we don't see them much anymore! In the Lower Mainland there is a slew of restaurants that serve Pho or are simply Pho restaurants. With so much selection, I found it difficult to choose a restaurant to try since Pho can be good, but can very easily be pretty poor. A few months back, I was introduced to the Stanley for Pho and have gone back several times due to the great quality and good prices. Not only have I gone back, but people I have recommended it to have also let me know they have made return trips for the tasty noodle based dishes they offer. Literally nestled in a mini-mall at the corner of 112st and 84th ave in Delta, the Stanley Restaurant can be easily missed with it's non-descriptive store front and being beside a pub patio which takes up a lot of space. When you first enter into the restaurant, there's no significant pieces of artwork or pieces for decor. Instead there are standard square tables, simple brown chairs, light pink painted walls, and a few tvs placed around the restaurant on mute scrolling news or sports. However, you will also be greeted by an enticing aroma of spices and meats. This should be the first sign that you should stay. The menu of Stanley is large, holding more than 70 items to choose from. Initially, this worried me, since when most restaurants offer so many dishes, a lot can be pretty poor since the restaurant doesn't really master all their dishes. However, I can provide comfort by saying in the more than half a dozen times I've gone, my groups have ordered at least 20 different menu items, and there hasn't been one we've really been disappointed with. My personal favourite of all the items has been Stanley Restaurant's Rare Sliced Beef Pho (#12). For $7.99 you get their "small" bowl which is still loaded with noodles, veggies and beef. For an additional dollar, you can upgrade your Pho to large. When I'm hungry, I can eat. However, the small bowl has always been enough to fill me up. In case you feel you could use a little more, for $2 you can get a full plate of extra veggies to add to the dish. I find the base dishes and extras great values. Others that would be recommended are the Rare Steak with Flank, Beef and Pork with Vermicelli, and Chow Mien with Prawns. With each meal, you get free tea, along with a variety of herbs and sauces to add to enhance the sweetness, saltiness, spiciness, sourness, etc. of your dish to your liking. If you want good Pho, in large portions and at good prices, even if the Stanley Restaurant is a little off the beaten path, it is certainly worth the trip to Delta. If you live in Delta or Surrey, then you are some lucky people when it comes to fulfilling a Pho craving. A 4.5 out of 5. read more

My go to Vietnamese restaurant growing up - a lot more spacious now that they have renovated! Not the best Pho that I've had, but pretty good, and the best in the North Delta area. My girlfriend told me about this place all the time when I met her, so being here I finally manage to try it 3 timed already in a month! And I must say it is good pho. The settings aren't great but it is close to different businesses (bank, 7 eleven, etc.) and the local delta lion pub. The wait hasn't been very long everytime around 5 to 10 minutes which is not long for the quantities the family-owned restaurant. The quality of the ingredients is present and after a meal you will be full for the rest of the day. My girl recommended me to take the pho with meat balls (7.99$ small or 8.99$ large) and I must say it was good every single time. I've never been a huge fan of pho in the past but that time I've been really impressed by how full and good it was. The spring rolls are also great! But to be honest just a large pho will last you longtime. I really recommend that place: good quality, large portions and close to different businesses make it a very interesting place to eat. Although the service is a bit messy (the entree comes after the main), and the atmosphere and furniture isn't the greatest though. read more

The Pho is great, and, though it is not Vietnamese, their won ton soup is my favorite (white guy eating asian food as a staple for over 30 years here!) The prices are modest and very fair. No gouging here. Great neighborhood spot and I guess the secret is out, they are expanding their restaurant (though closing their Langley location that didn't take off-surprising) Try it, you will thank me! read more

Pho Stanley's pho broth is aromatic, soothing and has an intensely beefy broth. The chefs at this restaurant really understand the stock and how to extract all the flavors from the beef bones. Their spring rolls taste homemade; just like how grandma used to make them as I watch from the kitchen counter :) I'll have to visit Pho Stanley again the next time i find myself back visiting beautiful British Columbia. UPDATE: I previously wrote a review about sub part service for this restaurant, and I have since returned several times. The food is really great. So far I've only had variations of their pho, or chicken soups, but it has been great enough for me to keep coming back for more. The place is still busy as always during lunch hour, but you can almost always find a seat. even for large parties! Again, the service hasn't changed too much. I understand they're busy, and that's just what I expect when I come here now. But, I am still returning for the food regardless. I'd still recommend it, either way. read more

My friend and I went there for lunch. I had a spicy pork soup and she had wonton soup and shared a tempura deluxe appetizer. The next day, we both had the "runs" and we ordered two separate dishes; not a coincidence. If you want to waste an entire day and spend quality time on the toilette, or get a "colonic cleanse" (aka diarrhea), go to this restaurant and you will guarantee get food poisoning. Whenever I'm here, I usually stick to the most vanilla looking things on the menu: Plain rice noodle soup, chicken chowmein, and pork or chicken brochette - occasionally something more adventurous. Never have I been let down by Pho Stanley. My family has been coming here for about 12 years, and every single time the food has been perfect. I know they use fresh ingredients because on multiple occasions I've seen one of the chefs walk into the restaurant holding produce they've picked up from the fruit and veg store next door. Very reassuring. Make sure to ask for water or anything else you need right away, as once the food is on the table, you're pretty much on your own. My theory is, they never come around to see how the food is because they KNOW it's good. If you aren't too concerned about the vanishing waitress, give this place a try; you'll be pleasantly surprised. read more

Stanley is the best pho place in the Metro Vancouver area. A bunch of us from Nuheat make the trek from Richmond to Delta to have lunch there every week, sometimes 3 times a week. No need to give us the menu. We've got it memorized. Service is good considering how busy it is and the waitresses remember all of our unique requests, i.e. extra cilantro on the side, double the fish sauce, etc. You gotta eat here! Broth for the noodles are great, #37 with pork or chicken, #59 if you're hungry, or #62 if you really wanna chow down. read more
