Pho with fatty brisket
Andy C.

I've been here a few times and never quite got into them but I thought I'd give them another shot today and I think they've finally found their groove. The ambience is a bit divey but that's par for the course when you're talking about good pho. Service was quick and attentive even when they were pretty full. I ordered an iced coffee and pho with just fatty brisket. The iced coffee is premade and tastes more like traditional Vietnamese coffee than most other places around here which I like. One thing I'll mention is that their pho support plate (the thing with the bean sprouts, basil, and other accoutrements that accompany pho) was the cleanest looking plate I've ever seen in nova. The basil was immaculate. Every leaf. The bean sprouts looked healthy and fresh instead of wilted and raggedy. They didn't have the jalapeño slices or lime most places give but I was too impressed by the quality of the basil and sprouts to care. As for the pho, the broth was super clean and more subtle than a lot of other places. I'll definitely be coming back for the pho.

So good!

This restaurant has quickly become my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Manassas. I say that as somebody who has lived here for several years and truly love Vietnamese noodle soup. I find that their broth is full of flavor and their noodles have the proper consistency and do not begin to disintegrate (I noticed this primarily with takeout at other restaurants). The owner is very kind and courteous and so his is brother who works alongside him. As an added bonus, they make two signature hot sauce that I really enjoy, and I have not found anywhere else. One has lemon grass and it's just the perfect amount of tangy and fragrant! I often find a couples come here on dates or large families come by. The meal truly never misses. The menu has plenty of full options if soup is not really your thing, although I am slightly judging you because around this time of year Pho just cures the soul.

Came here for lunch and I got the pho dac biet($17) and a viet iced coffee($6). The food came out very quickly in under 10 mins. The broth was good, I hoped it had a bit more salty/savoriness base but it was still good. Staff were friendly. Overall I had a good time, I'd probably try another Vietnamese restaurant personally just because I like saltier ones. Food(50%): 7.0 Staff/service(25%): 7.0 Value(25%): 6.5 Overall: 6.9/10

Spring rolls were a little loose and I prefer Peanut sauce with it. But a good appetizer.

Pho Saigon offers delicious pho. After a big hike at the Battlefield, this is the perfect place for lunch. While, Pho Sapa had the best Spring Rolls, held tight with amazing peanut sauce, Pho Saigon's fell short with me. The wraps were a bit more loose and the sauce was more like molasses and hoisen. (Which it should be.. just a preference) -Pho Saigon's actual Pho was out of sight! I got the Seafood Pho and it was so delicious. The fish cakes had great flavor and a good amount inside the bowl, along with imitation crab and shrimp. Fabulous dish. Our Young Coconut Water was amazing!!! I love Coconut water but never had this before. I loved it! Super awesome Pho.

Best pho restaurant in the DMV. I have been here numerous times over the past years even during off hours and received excellent food and service every time. It's hard to match this place and I have been to all of them

Came in here a quick bite since it I close to my hotel and great Yelps reviews. I ordered Spring Rolls and Grilled Pork Vermicelli. They served you special house sauce with great taste and bit spiciness. Spring Rolls and Grilled pork were both well-prepared with good flavor. Adding the house sauce to vermicelli bring out enhanced flavor. Highly recommend that you give it a try.

Grilled Pork & Steam Rice Spring rolls Fried rice

Those are NOT PORK CHOPS NO TASTE AT ALL. Not even the water was good! Spring rolls no taste at all. Very disappointed

This place was poppin when we went to lunch on Monday around 1p but the service was very fast and efficient. The pho was delicious but in my opinion the star was the egg rolls. The noodle portion was good and I felt more than satisfied at the end. They have a great lunch special of pho+egg roll or spring roll + a drink for $16. That's a great deal!

Doesn't look like this place is open. I drove by today and there was plywood on the front windows and the door?

It's open!

Does anyone know if they use MSG in their Pho?

No, and MSG isn't bad for you despite the racist scare in the 80s-90s. https://youtu.be/xyryLSdugWQ

We were here on a Sunday around 4 p.m. At that time of day, it wasn't very busy. Both of us ordered pho. I had pho ga with white meat chicken. My husband got pho with shrimp. The servings were huge! We were impressed with how generous they were with the aromatics. We both liked what we ordered. The place is roomy. When we entered, we were told to pick a table, and we chose a 4-top. The decor is simple -- paintings of outdoor spaces. There was also a crucifix on one wall. If you need a fork for the pho, please ask for one. The staff was efficient and polite. I know - because I asked the restaurant staff when I recently visited in person for some Pho. Why is this important? Because, for some reason - the previous business listing under the "Viet Flavor" name - was simply updated/changed on Yelp to "Pho Banh MI 89" - and of course this keeps all the reviews that were under the the Viet Flavor name. What should have occurred - is that the Viet Flavor business listing is "Closed," and a new business listing created for "Pho Banh MI 89." Until that happens - I have no way to post a review except for here. I visited recently to sample the Pho Ga. The Pho Ga was expensive - I paid around $17 and change for a bowl - seemed a little high. I also ordered the Summer Rolls - which were pretty standard quality-wise. The Pho Ga chicken broth is a bit light for my palate. I'd like to see more depth of flavor and complexity to the chicken broth. As usual, after tasting the broth - I added all the accoutrements: Fresh Basil, lime juice, Jalapeños, and Bean Sprouts. Noodles were not clumped; broth was steaming. Decent bowl of Pho Ga - but not outstanding. The inside of the place was totally gutted during the transition to the new business. Bright, clean, lots of seating. Service was good. Paid with Apple Pay. #PhoBanhMI89

Ambiance is casual. It's a small restaurant at a strip mall (the restaurant's capacity is 85 people). This place always has customers but at peak dining times, there's a wait out the door- yes, even during summer sometimes, but especially when it's cold or raining. Their pho is spectacular, as is their vermicelli bowls, spring and summer rolls. Banh xeo is mid-- there's a specific spice that throws it off (maybe turmeric). I stopped by here recently and noticed they have new menus. Quick skim: pho prices haven't changed, but certain menu items have gone up about $1. If you're looking for a sweet treat after lunch, there's a Sweet Frog 2 doors down, Okaeri next door (Japanese soufflé pancakes and lattes), Paris Baguette a few yards away. The meat portion was generous, which I appreciated. We also ordered the cha gio, but it wasn't worth it in my opinion. It was pretty underwhelming and not something I'd order again. Deep, rich, and layered with flavor, it had that slow-simmered warmth that makes you appreciate a well-made bowl of spicy beef noodle soup. Every sip felt like comfort in a spoon. The beef was tender, the noodles had the right bite, and the overall execution was solid. Service? Friendly and efficient. The restaurant itself? Clean and well-kept. No complaints on that front. Now, for the one thing that threw me off--the ambiance. Sitting in a Vietnamese restaurant, fully ready to embrace the experience, I found myself listening to Hispanic music and watching Spanish TV. It wasn't blaring or disruptive, but it definitely took away from the immersion. I get that the area has a strong Hispanic presence, and I respect that, but when I'm diving into a bowl of pho, I want the setting to match the dish. Maybe that's just me, but it felt a little off-brand. Would I come back? Absolutely--for the food. The pho alone is worth the visit. He packed it all nice and tight for the trip and it made it home perfectly. We heated everything up for dinner and it tasted GREAT! The broth was flavorful, clear, and very nicely seasoned. The chicken was abundant and perfectly cooked white meat, sliced nice and thin and was still very moist. The veggies were fresh, clean, and the basil was very bright green. It took a while to be seated, though I think its probably a seat yourself situation and I didnt know. No signs said that but that was the vibe I got as I was being seated. Additionally after ordering my food, it took like 30 minutes for the first thing to come to the table. Normally im patient because I read my kindle and I have time to kill. Thst day i didnt so I was a bit stressed over the time. Typically places have my pho on the table inside of 15 minutes. Ive been spoiled lol they also forgot that I ordered extra bean sprouts and toppings, then when I reminded them they only brought out extra sprouts. It was fine, though slightly annoying. The waiter did come ask me if I wanted more, after the fact but I just said it was fine. I juat wanted to eat and honestly it wasnt that big if a deal. Everything was good, but not phenomenal. It was well worth the price in my opinion. I paid about $29 for a large bowl of pho with a decent amount of meat.... more meat than most places give you, a Thai tea, and an order of rolls which I got 1 crispy and 1 soft even though the soft and crispy rolls are separate orders. They did it special one of each for me which was nice! Honestly that price isnt bad. Now for the nothings perfect aspect. The broth was not as salty as I like. Pretty light actually. Which isnt horrible, because the typical flavors were there but when you dont have enough saltiness, that sometimes gets lost. I dress my pho up, so in the end it didnt matter much, but was something I noted. The rolls were a bit thinner than I usually find. But again that was ok with me for today because with the bowl of pho, those, plus the Thai tea, I was stuffed. Any bigger and I probably would have burst. And then there was the Thai tea. It was ok, but not phenomenal. Honestly that one I was on the verge of regretting. It was rather bitter, but just on the verge of what I would tolerate so... again... not perfect but im definitely NOT displeased. If I was in the area again id probably try another pho place, but i would also revisit this place. Overall I give it 3 stars. Ill be going back one day to update the review. When a place is like this, borderline in my stars.. like a 3... I typically give them a second chance because sometimes there are bad days and this place i feel has the potential to be amazing.

Nue was the fine dining recommendation, and I have to say it was a great introduction to Vietnamese cuisine. As far as parking, there is a garage within walking distance of the stores and restaurants, so parking was pretty convenient. The restaurant itself was beautifully designed. It was dimly lit, spacious, and had a really nice atmosphere. Our waitress was also very knowledgeable about the menu and offered some great suggestions, which was especially helpful since I wasn't very familiar with Vietnamese food. The menu was pretty expansive, and I have to say some of the cocktail descriptions immediately caught my attention. I tried the Lychee Sunset Fizz, made with Hornitos Blanco Tequila, lychee liqueur and lychee, calamansi, yuzu and grenadine. I tend to go for sweeter drinks so this was a nice balance. For food, the Seafood Chả Giò was one of my favorites. It had wild Gulf shrimp, lump crab, Berkshire pork, taro, carrots and fresh herbs. It definitely seems to be one of their headlining items because it was something I noticed quite a few people ordering, and I can see why. But my absolute favorite was the Snow Crab Fried Rice. It had hand-pulled snow crab, shrimp, shallots, eggs and oyster mushrooms, and it was so flavorful and filling. Honestly, I regretted not ordering another portion to take home because I would have happily eaten it again later. All in all, I would definitely return to Nue to try some of the other items on the menu. I'm definitely not finished with my Vietnamese food journey yet, but this was a really great stop along the way. If the Snow Crab Fried Rice is any indication of what's still waiting for me on the menu, I have plenty more to explore.
