Great location, slightly updated from Pho 208. I feel as if the food is exactly the same and maybe they just changed the name? The pho special was good, but didn't seem to have been created from ox tail as it was lighter and seemed slightly less savory than I'm typically used to. I also had the spring rolls which were fresh and crunchy. The service was prompt and it was very slow in there with no wait at all. Decent beer/wine selection for such a small restaurant. Quick update to my last review. Like I wrote before, PR is within walking distance of my job so I come here a few times a year to eat lunch with my dad. And while I've historically been negative, I believe in being fair: the pho has improved in the past 6 months. Broth is more flavorful (if still on the light side) and the meat cuts are now readily identifiable. Noodles were on the overcooked side and stuck together, an indication that the soup probably sat for a while before the waiter picked it up... and in truth I did see another party sit down 15min after us and got served before us, so I'm thinking the waiter was disorganized but polite enough-- maybe new at his job. Cha gio are still unimpressive but also better than they were-- not as mushy on the inside. Good to see some improvement and I'm hoping that trend continues. One suggestion would be to keep the sauces in their bottles on the table (like most pho restaurants do), rather than serving individual portions in little dishes. The waiter forgot them for us and other diners and had to run around getting them for everyone and really it's just another thing to track, more dishes to clean, and if the diner doesn't use the entire portion, a bunch of sauce goes to waste. Of course there's probably a reason for this strategy that I don't know about... so take it or leave it. And as long as we're talking about waste, I wonder if all pho restaurants would save some money if they customized the veggies too-- some people might not eat all the lime, basil, bean sprouts, and jalapeno. PR is not alone in this, so I'm sorry if it seems like I'm singling you guys out... just an idea! read more

If you like your pho broth that taste like hot water and oil... this is the place for you. Yum yum ! I actually copy cat the broth by boiling some water and adding some lard and a mint leaf. At only $13.00 to $14.00 a bowl... what a bargain! It's even better than the hot water and oil broth the Pho 208 was before at this location. If you like your pho absolutely flavorless that leaves an oily taste in your mouth and paying for it ... you will love this place! Enjoy! If you want my copy cat recipe..... Boil water .... Shocking, I know after all the other reviews. They lost me with the broth. It was watery and bland. I order the "rare steak" pho that already had the meat sliced added to the hot broth. The only way I have ever been served this pho was the raw meat on the side for the customer to add. That way the meat can be cooked to one's liking. The meat was tender, but overcooked for me. The other disappointment was the peanut sauce served with the spring rolls. It was more like a sweet sauce with no texture. I asked for a side of sambal olek, and the waitperson did not know what I was talking about. I will say the prices are very fair, when these days it is more like a commitment to go out to eat. Pho has never disappointed here. The banh mi however, is the worst I've ever had. Hardly any toppings in the sandwich. Will definitely stick to the pho here. It's also a tad pricy but I guess you get what you pay for. The veggie tofu pho has some of the most flavorful broth I've ever had of any pho place I've been. Nice presence to eat at with cool music. Food is great. Only thing is not being offered sauces that should normally come with the pho. I really want to like this place, as it's super convenient to where I live. Went there last Friday at 6:30ish, I know that's a prime time to eat out. Ordered the spring rolls, the rice paper was super tough and dried out, just didn't taste fresh. Husband ordered the beef pho, and I got the grilled pork and rice. They were slammed with to-go orders, so it took about 40 minutes to get our dinner. The pork was tough and flavorless and wasn't served with the traditional pickled carrots and daikon. Hands down the best Pho I've ever had! I ordered the P1 Pho and a spring roll appetizer. Both were excellent and did not disappoint. The homemade sauce was delicious and the generous portions of fresh basil, sprouts, lime, and jalapeño slices were a welcome added touch. Wow this was the best service I've had in so long! I usually dine out alone which I love to do but find I often get sub-par service. It wasn't the best pho I've ever had but the young man serving me was such an intuitive server and really made my experience here extra special. I enjoyed the soup but I get full very quickly so I usually don't stay long. For me it's more of an issue of what I feel my problematic tummy can handle at any given time.
