Clear noodle chicken soup
Joy S.

Service was great, very welcoming and friendly. They offer variety of Vietnamese food items, not just noodle. My husband has pho and it's good. The broth is aromatic. I had clear noodle chicken soup and it's amazing. They give options between white meat and dark meat. The food came out fast.

Was feeling a little under the weather, so I had to get some pho. Wanted to try a new spot and found this pho spot near me. The portions were pretty generous. While I thought the meat quality could have been a bit better, the soup was good and on point. While not the best in the area, definitely a solid spot.

Formerly in the space occupied by Hai Duong, Pho #1 is a spacious and unassuming family-run restaurant in a strip mall filled with other ethnic cuisines. Generous portions of fragrant pho are offered with a wide variety of meat (beef or chicken) and fish selections. Oddly enough, they only come in two sizes - small and large, and the large is only $1.00 more, so ordering the right size should be a no-brainer! :-D They're also one of the rare Vietnamese restaurants that offers the wide udon-like rice noodles (banh canh) that are hard to find among the usual menu offerings, along with other non-standard options like pork hocks, pig's hearts, and pig tongues. Their standard shaking beef with fried rice was outstanding - as were the shrimp garden rolls and crispy spring rolls. We wanted to try one of their clay pot dishes but decided to save them for our next visit. Service was fast and efficient, but then again, there were only a few tables filled early on a Saturday evening!

Stop by here for dinner and lunch. The decor is dated and typical of the restaurants in the area. Always get the house pho, which is pretty reasonably priced. Service is relatively prompt, depends on the server's mood or what else they have going on.

Large Shrimp pho with spring rolls. Very good.

I wanted to get pho soup because I was a little under the weather. I ordered the large pho with shrimp and the egg rolls. The soup was served hot and soothed my scratchy throat. Service was quick and efficient until the end. All in all everything was good. I'll return and hopefully feeling better.

Pho Tai

4/5! Definitely a good spot to get Pho. If I'm close to the area, this is one of my go to places in Springfield when I'm craving a good bowl of Pho soup. Also found out that this has been rebranded to Pho Number 1. This used to be Pho Hai Duong. The Food: My go to bowl of Pho is the Pho Tai. The meat is always nicely cooked when it touches the broth and the broth flavor itself is delicious. The portion is nicely sized so you won't be leaving here with wanting more to eat. However, when paired with some crispy spring rolls or Cha Gio, for appetizers, you can't go wrong. The Service: The service is always good here. When walking in, the staff greet you to an available seat almost immediately and they try to get your orders in/out as soon as possible. Place is clean and the food is always good. Overall, a 4/5!

We usually go here it's not that good anymore .. and now tried take out and giving it a chance and its still disappointing the bucha hanoi dish was dry and the nuoc mam sauce it's not the same it's more sour and less fish sauce I think more vinegar taste .. the pho my mom got had chopped up meat like it's left over dry and tough .. really disappointed

large pho #6 (tai nam)

Very straightforward, got our orders in record time. Service was standard and no-frills. Pho was above average and overall pleasant! I liked the tai (beef steak), but felt like the nam (flank) could have been more juicy.

The establishment is clean. Service is fast and friendly. They have a big menu with reasonable price compared to other restaurants around. The rice dish was average. grilled pork chop was decent but shredded pork and bean curd skins need improvement. Those seem over-cooked (or over-heated in microwave) and not fresh like daily made. Broken rice was too dry. Special Beef soup was ok. The bowl had plenty of meats.

I ordered delivery six days ago was very impressed of the amount of food and the quality of food was very exceptional. Called the owner to make sure that I had the correct place been here several times each time. I had a great experience. I actually had conversations with the owner, how he, his family made it to America I actually have four servings out of this one dish, not including the appetizers.

Pho was delicious until I found a bug in it. Staff replaced my soup with another. Service was overall decent but I'm not sure I'd return.

The food was average priced and the portions were huge. We really enjoyed everything we ate! Bathrooms were also clean. Easy parking in the springfield plaza. I suggest going here. I liked how at the get-go they gave me a full set of silverware and chopsticks swaddled in a napkin. The crispy 1. Chả Giò spring rolls with ground pork and crab were excellent. I especially liked that they provided two dipping sauce for the spring rolls. One sauce was sweet and the other was tart with fish sauce flavor. I liked both sauces equally. For my entrée, I ordered the 24. Cơm Sườn Chả pork chop. I was intrigued by the menu description which included egg custard and broken rice. Overall, the pork was very good and I liked that it was not over-marinated with lemongrass. The egg custard was a square of something gelatinous. It had a mild pleasant flavor. So the broken rice is interesting. It seems like a short-grain white rice, but has a very nice somewhat dense texture. Even though the menu advertised lettuce with tomato for my pork chop, the lettuce came with thinly sliced carrot and radish instead of tomato, which was fine. The only negative about my visit to Brothers Bistro was that the pork chop came out at the same time as the spring rolls appetizer.

It was such a cute little pho but the broth was aromatic, rich, and the brisket had the right about of fattiness. With the bahn mi, it was more than enough food. The service was also amazing. The person at the register was knowledgeable when I asked for recommendations, and he was very kind. This is definitely an unassuming place, but their food is packed with flavor. I was sad to see that they still do not offer Banh Cuon or Canh Khổ Qua since I used to get it there 10 years ago. Overall, it is still a great place for authentic Vietnamese food!

Unfortunately, the service and overall experience made this visit more frustrating than enjoyable. The ordering system relies on large self-serve screens which would be fine if the interface were clear. Several items weren't explained well, and it was hard to tell exactly what I was selecting. I tried to get assistance, but the staff member on duty had headphones in and was watching something on his phone. Even after waving to get his attention, he didn't notice. When my food finally came out, it was delivered to the wrong table before making it's way back to me. The food isn't bad but it's more of a fast food style and I wish it were fresh. Overall, I won't be rushing back. Not because of the food but because the service and ordering process made the visit more stressful than it needed to be.

After a few minutes of waiting at the door, we decided to sit ourselves down. Few minutes later we were handed menus, not by an employee but a customer..mind you, it wasn't busy at all (about 4 tables) We were greeted by our server shortly after and her energy and vibe was just not it. A bit of an attitude and felt extremely rushed. We ordered a large seafood pho and a small with egg noodles. The large seafood pho looked pretty delicious , but unfortunately looks can be deceiving. The broth wasn't flavorful at all. Just tasted like water with a hint of beef flavoring. The shrimp and fish cakes were rubbery, and the fishballs were still cold. Maybe I came on a bad day to get pho at this location, but I will not be coming back.

THE DEAL: Sit down service and you can basically pick your table. FOOD & DRINKS: We shared a nice piping hot pot of tea which is perfect for warming the winter soul and started off with some crispy eggrolls. They were hot, crispy, and delish served with lettuce, carrots, and daikon radish and of course, a sweet-and-sour dipping sauce. Hubs got the wonton soup, which was a full-size bowl like a pho, and it was incredibly delicious. The broth had so much depth and flavor and the pork was just tender as can be and the shrimp was perfectly cooked too and it was served with a side pho like accoutrements. I got the Buddha's Delight which is sautéed veggies and tofu and it was served with a side of white rice. The veggies were beautifully cooked al dente, the tofu was superb and the flavor of the sauce was delish! AMBIANCE: The restaurant decor is like going back in time with old laminate table tops and an almost cafeteria like feel but comfortable. We did have an annoying diner right behind us who was by himself and had his phone on speaker and was listening and watching videos as loud as could be and PSA people do that on your own time not on others lol!!! SERVICE: The service was superb and our server was zen the entire time. Thank you for your lovely demeanor! Excellent meal and excellent experience and we will be back
