I can't express how much I love this place. Family owned and operated, the owners get to know regular customers by name, always super friendly and attentive. The food is great. I have had pho that was a little more exciting, but sometimes you just need good old fashioned "feel good food" and this place fits the bill. They give you a ton of food for the price too. The staff is friendly enough. I have never had any issues. The menu is pretty typical. They offer a lunch menu with appetizers, bun/vermicelli salads, a variety of stir-fries both with and without meat, various types of noodles and entrees, as well as pho. You can also get banh mi sandwiches any time. The dinner menu is similar but also includes an expanded selection of offerings. There are a variety of soft drinks including Asian ones such as boba tea and Vietnamese coffee, and also a number of beers available. We enjoyed our visits there very much for both snacks and dinner. We find this restaurant to be excellent (can they come cook for us at home?) But that being said, and as much as we love it we still do not find this restaurant to be the very best of the Vietnamese restaurants in the Dayton/Cincinnati area, but it does stand head and shoulders above local restaurants of all types. Pho on a cold wet day....there is nothing better and Pho Mi is the go to place for us in Dayton. This is now my second visit and I haven to been disappointed at all! This time I decided to go with the vegetable option with tofu (Hu Tieu Chay Xup/Mixed Vegetable w/Tofu Sate Rice Noodle soup). For $7.50 its a large bowl (I could not finish mine), and the spice level on it was perfect. What I liked so much about it, is that the broth still has such a great mouth feel and is hearty. In town for business, stopped in this place for dinner with a coworker. Expectations were low given the fact we were in a Vietnamese restaurant in Ohio, however our meal was rock solid. The sweet potato shrimp pancake was definitely a highlight, but the entire meal was definitely authentic. Service was great and the price was very reasonable. read more

I used to eat here for a long time and now that the owner changed the food is super bad and the prices went up. soup is not even hot and the service is very unprofessional. the lady was on the phone and just fave me the menu and told me to go sit. like where? my friend ordered veggie fried spring rolls which supposed to be veggies and ate it and it had meat. she had an allergic reaction. previous owner that had veggie spring rolls would never have meat in them. this is just sad. i asked with no pork and nope there was pork in my soup. it happens most of the times when i get a togo. please care more about sanitary as well. read more

I was looking for some good ol' Vietnamese cuisine while visiting my parents. More specifically, I was looking to satiate an inkling for banh mi. Pho Mi was the closest establishment to fit the bill. It's located ~20 min from Beavercreek. I tried the number listed on Yelp and noticed it mirrored the number on Google.. I was highly annoyed hearing a constant busy tone or repeatedly being hung up on for an HOUR. Whatever. I still wanted the dang sandwich- especially after reading the reviews on Yelp. I ordered a beef banh mi and my brother ordered a chicken fried rice. An uncommon touch to my banh mi was the inclusion of a jalapeño- one usually recipes Asian chili peppers. Moreover, I asked for extra mayo and extra pate... the sandwich was honestly just meh. I've had far, far, far better and have learned just to wait for a superior sandwich. On the other hand, my brother's chicken fried rice was good with the exception of season less chicken. For $12.25 + gas and traffic, I could've gone to Chick Fil A for tastier food for less. read more

I really like this unpretentious little Vietnamese place. I've eaten there 4 times so far and each meal was excellent. The pho is a huge bowl of comfort food, great to warm you up in the winter. over the weekend I had Goi Cuon, the Shrimp Summer Roll appetizer. Unlike a Chinese egg roll, a summer roll is not fried but rolled up in a thin rice flour wrapper. Refreshing in summer. My main course is listed on the menu under: "Bun - Vermicelli Rice Noodle Salad Meal-sized salads served with rice noodles, lettuce, bean sprouts, cucumbers, peanut & house sauce" I had the Bun Cha Nuong -- Lemongrass Pork Slices & Shish Kabob w/Vermicelli. The meat was so tender and juicy. The lettuce and noodles were cool. It was a very hot day, so I opted for cooler dishes. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I'd go more often but I live in Cincinnati and only get up to Dayton now and then. read more

Judging from the number of Vietnamese restaurants here in Dayton, Vietnamese Pho hasn't caught on with the same fervor as in other parts of the country. Luckily for us Pho fans, Pho Mi is your one stop shop for Vietnamese gastronomy. The restaurant is conveniently located near Dayton Mall--really easy to get to. The place is clean and though it is a family business, the members serving customers are courteous, quick, and very friendly. They have a simply decorated dining room which is spacious and Vietnamese music playing in the background. I was thrilled to see that they offer all of the Vietnamese food that I liked. Pho is their signature item and the bowls of soup are big and the portions gargantuan. The soup could have used some deeper flavoring but by Pho standards, but not a bad version. I noticed that tendon and bible tripe are absent from the Pho menus in Dayton, I guess the Midwest isn't ready for that yet. Vietnamese spring rolls, in my opinion, are the gold standard of the "egg roll" world and Pho Mi's version does not disappoint. They sell them per roll here though, not in an order of 2-3 like in most restaurants. The spring roll were piping hot and nicely done and very similar to those served in other Vietnamese restaurants. Pho Mi, unlike the other pho restaurants offer the Vietnamese sandwiches or Banh Mi. I ordered these to go and though I was happy of the offering, the paltry amounts of meat that they used made for a very underwhelming sandwich. What is more, I usually see lemongrass pork in a banh mi, but they used a barbecue pork that is more reminiscent of Chinese Char Siu--not bad, but not the best banh mi I've ever had. Pho Mi has so many great virtues, I would definitely go to them for my Pho fix. The service is good and they hit all of the offerings of a good Vietnamese Restaurant. Pretty good pho (beef noodle soup), inexpensive beer. Hidden gem for Vietnamese food, will come back to try their vermicelli and broken rice dishes. Not quite the same as the pho you get in the saturated Vietnamese communities in California/Texas, but has the right parts and definitely better than some other states I've eaten pho in. If you're adventurous to try other ethnic cuisine, definitely try the signature dishes the restaurant is known for i.e. say no to the orange chicken. read more

This place is a bit far from where I live. I ordered my food to-go because I was exploring the area and didn't want to stay in the area too long. Ordered Bun Cha Nuong - This dish was alright. Cha and rice Noodles were good and generic but the Thit Nuong was crunchy which it is normally not - don't think I'll order this again. Xup (or Sup) Cua Mang Tuy (aka Sup Mang Tay Cua) - They used imitated crab which is a big no-no for me when it comes to making real sup mang tay cua. However for $3 and 2 serving size to-go - I don't mind ordering it again. Strawberry Milk Boba Tea - not good at all....the tapioca was on the soft side and not consistent side....I flushed it down the sink after drinking half of it. Tapioca needs to be on the gummy side. Banh Mi Xa Xiu made up for all the dishes I ordered to go. It's exactly as it should be with no recipe change. Pate, Homemade Mayo, pickled vegetable, good meats and banh mi. This is worth the drive for BANH MI! Food aside, the interior is nice and Viet music playing - it feels homey like the ones I go to with my parents back in Oakland.. Will go here when I'm around the area - Banh Mi is probably most likely what I get next time. read more

Vietnamese is my absolute favorite food, so anytime I travel outside my local area I try to find a new place to try. Today traveling back to northern Indiana from Cincinnati, we passed this place on our way through Dayton, and while it took a bit of convincing I was able to talk my girlfriend into it (she's a picky eater). The atmosphere is fantastic and the staff couldn't be any nicer, I even had a mix-up with my main dish and it was taken care of in a matter of a few minutes; and with none of the attitude that seems to come with complaints these days. As an appetizer my girlfriend had Crab Rangoon and I got the Shrimp Summer Rolls. Both were fantastic, and even though I can't say they were the best summer rolls I've ever had they are certainly in my top ten. My only complaint here is the Hoisin Sauce was a bit on the thin side, not a big deal but I like it on the thick side. Since I had a few minutes to wait on my main dish mix-up to be resolved, I was able to try out my girlfriends beef vermicelli salad, All I can say is it was absolutely delicious. I had the pork chop with shredded pork and egg. This is a staple dish of mine and something I get at nearly every Vietnamese restaurant on my first go. My pork chop was about twice as thick as I ever get anywhere else and it was incredibly good. The egg was fried to perfection, and the shredded pork was perfect. It makes me sad to sit in a restaurant with food this unbelievably good and see the endless flow of traffic through the McDonald's Drive-thru and the packed parking lot at the pizza place across the street while I was at one of three occupied tables. I can't recommend Pho Mi enough and the Dayton area is extremely lucky to have such a wonderful restaurant. Total for my Pig out session not including tip was $27 for two appetizers, two dinners and two drinks. I call that a steal!! Oh and by the way my picky girlfriend loved it. Let me start this by saying that coming from a state where pho is huge, this establishment had huge boots to fill...and sadly they were only loafer status. I have been twice and neither time knocked my socks off. The atmosphere is completely what I expected. Clean and basic. Nothing wrong with that. Service was on point the first time and lacking the second. The staff is very nice but not super quick. My husband and I both had summer rolls which we both enjoyed. Standard summer rolls. My husband had banh mi which he said was pretty good. I had chicken and vegetable pho which was basically tasteless. I added basil and hoisin sauce and salt and...it was kind of like I made my own broth at the table. I was bummed about that. Veggies were fresh and white meat chicken was great. What I did like was that they had no problems with special orders. I HATE cilantro. HATE! HATE! HATE! and they were able to manage no dishes with that wretched spice. I travel to Miamisburg once a month for work. Miamisburg, Ohio. Oh, you've never heard of it? Shocking. This small suburb of Dayton isn't known for their thriving diversity. However, the food options are impressive! Thanks to Yelp, I found Pho Mi and ordered their shrimp summer rolls (without pork) and vermicelli noodles with lemongrass tofu & veggies, extra spicy. I used to work at a Vietnamese restaurant so I am happy to report that my meal was fresh, authentic and spicyyyyy! The summer rolls had the right balance of cilantro & basil and the lemongrass spice was strong. I wish the to-go order didn't include the iceberg lettuce salad underneath the noodles but by the time I got to the bottom, I was full & satisfied. The price can NOT be beat! Under $10 for my entire meal! Today's lunch break was my second visit and I fully intend on getting lunch here during each of my business trips! Well done! read more

Let's face it...southwestern Ohio isn't exactly the best place to find good Asian food. But Pho Mi is a sweet little secret right down the road from the Dayton Mall. Always my pick when I'm sick and need spicy comfort food or it's my birthday dinner (I really should find a more expensive place when someone else is picking up the check). They have a HEE-UGE menu, from pho and mi soup (hence the name) to stir fries and banh mi sandwiches. I love that I can get a variety of flavored boba teas. My husband is mildly annoyed by the fact that they only serve soda in cans, so he can't get his free refills, and that the beer is bottled, but it never stops him from suggesting we eat there. Prices are very reasonable, with my favorite seafood mix pho soup coming in under $9.00. I always get two meals out of my choice, since it's a huge bowl of soup. The atmosphere is kind of lame, since it's an old fast food joint they've turned into a little restaurant. But this isn't the place you go for atmosphere - you go because it's real, fabulous food that's as close to authentic Vietnamese food as you're going to get in the middle of Ohio. There's never a wait to be seated, and it's wonderful to be in a setting where you hear more than English, since local Asian transplants to the US frequent Pho Mi. My happy place! read more

Definitely a fan of Pho, and with the weather changing it sounded like a great meal. I was really pleased overall with Pho Mi. I ordered a veggie summer roll as an appetizer, it was light, crunchy and I really digged the sauce. I went with the Shrimp and Pork Sate Pho. I love how this meal is "some assembly required" where I get to choose how much basil, cilantro, spouts, and jalapenos I put in the bowl. The broth was flavorful and spicy. I have seen some of the negative reviews here and I must disagree with them. Just because your favorite meal is not the same doesn't mean the food is bad. I also see where people have said it isn't as authentic and I have to ask have you ever been to Vietnam and eaten there? The pho is very good, but now that the weather is warm I get the chicken/lemongrass vermicelli salad which is delicious and healthy. The fried rice is good as are the chicken lemongrass skewers. Came in for a quick late lunch last Saturday. At 2p, it was quite busy, which was I took as a good sign. The pho was really good and very flavorful. I had the house special pho, with the three types of beef, and while I didn't really care for the meatballs, my boyfriend liked them and ate them all. The other two beef cuts were very tender and tasty. I'll probably try a different pho next time, maybe the one with tofu and veggies someone else mentioned. Also had the spring roll with shrimp and the fried egg roll with vegetables. Both quite good. Bf had a spicy noodle dish with a flavor that was mouth watering delicious, though over-oiled. Oil was practically dripping off the noodles. Still, it was tasty, just took a few days of my life. I had hot tea, which came in a pot that was big enough to last the entire meal, and the beer is also nice and cheap. The service was good, the decor was nice; all in all, I couldn't be happier to have found this place - I get the feeling I'll be doing a lot of lunches here in the days to come. read more

One of the few Pho places i found in the area. Went here for lunch on a weekday. The service and ambiance was great. Price is very reasonable as well. If i had to make a suggestion, that would be to make sure the soup for the pho is hotter. The soup was a little luke warm and the noodle was soft as if it was cooked too long. We were a bit skeptical because Asian food in Dayton has not generally satisfied our palettes, but we really miss good Vietnamese food and I was hopeful. It's my first time n very disappointed. I ordered bubble green tea and the no. 92 in the menu. Tapioca in the tea were hard, maybe they don't know how to make bubble tea, I guess. and the food I orders was terrible. The noodle wasnt cook all the way still hard to chewed. I put sauce on it thought it might helps but it doesn't, I asked the waitress if she able to gives me the new one but they didn't. I know cause of I saw the sauce i put in the bottom.
