    #7 Shrimp Spring Rolls
    Jae E.

I hadn't been to Pho May in a long time but I don't know the reason for my hiatus. Returning to Pho May reminded me of the delicious, authentic flavors and reasonable prices. I say reasonable bc they aren't cheap, but their flavor profiles support their pricing. We got an assortment of plates and each one of them were delicious. The staff was so attentive and managed to keep up with my toddler's demand of new utensil between chopsticks, forks, and spoons. They were so kind and patient. I like the wooden benches, I almost feel like I'm traveling to a hidden spot instead of being a few minutes from a main freeway. I would like to say I'll be adventurous and try more things on their menu but they've called my heart with their classic dishes and I know what I'll come for every single time. One little thing that made Pho May stand out from other pho places is that they provided a sides/condiments plate per person. No more fighting for limes or who gets half of the bean sprouts!

This is the #26 Chicken Pho. The chicken wasn't shredded like most pho places

DO NOT GET FOOD HERE!!! There was a long strand of hair in my bean sprouts and the server didn't seem to care. The service here is terrible because the waiters give off an unfriendly vibe. The restaurant is darkly lit. Please save your money and don't go here

Decided to have Vietnamese food for lunch so checked into one of my favorite restaurants, Pho May, located in Hawaiian Gardens, California. Anita, our regular server greeted us with a lovely smile and sat down at our regular table. . She is always so kind and helpful and generous. As always, the restaurant is clean And they have background music playing. This time we tried their tofu, spring rolls. My wife and I loved them, the tofu is fried and wrapped in a spring roll and is stuffed with noodles, basil, diced cucumbers and lettuce. We chose the sweet-and-sour sauce rather than the peanut sauce. Oh what a treat! Recommend this restaurant and giving it five stars !!

I haven't been here in so long, and because the weathers been cold and rainy lately...it was the perfect time to do so. The Pho is good and affordable and all their options from their apps to their rice dishes are just as good. I will say tho, I was unlucky to get seated away from counter view and staff view right in front of the window entrances, so that lead to not being attended to or no one to grab attention for service. We were kind of just stuck waiting until they came around the corner or we went out looking for them. Recommend avoiding seating to the left of the entrance if no other parties are there to get the better service.

    A roach.

honestly rlly loved this place until there was a roach under the table. I felt disgusted. The excuse they gave was unexpected because "the trash is near" the trash was not near the restaurant. This is just disgusting. All we got was a 10% discount. We said we didn't wanna eat anymore and left. This isnt just a small roach this is huge.

We Ordered pickup. We ordered chicken pho, veggie pho, and chicken wings. The pho is definitely big enough for 2 meals. The pho broth was a little different from what I'm used to, but still solid. I'd definitely order it again. Wings were good too, though the sauce was a bit on the sweet side for my taste. It's great that this spot is open late. There were quite a few people dining in, and the staff was friendly. My food was ready right when I got there, which I appreciated. We Will definitely return.

We like this spot cos it's one of the few places that closes late! I ordered something else other than my usual #37 bbq pork and wonton soup or crispy salmon! I tried the lemon grass chicken and rice-- it was fresh and good too. Fried eggrolls are yummy too!

3 stars if it's day light. 4 stars if it's after 11pm. Food is okay and don't expect much in terms of service. But they are open late and much better than what is typically open at that hour, really hits the spot.

    #8 Fried Egg Rolls

This might definitely be one of my favorite pho spots. They have really great service. Are super quick and efficient. The staff is really kind. And the food obviously is absolutely delicious. As far as the ambiance; super chill and really love that it's open so late. (also really quick sidenote, I have terrible social anxiety, and this is one of the only places I feel comfortable eating by myself)

46 - Pan fried rice noodles with chicken (photo from their website but not how they made mine)

Edit: Editing to add that upon seeing our receipt it says I ordered "#48 Stir Fried rice noodle (Pad Thai). This is NOT what I ordered but appears to be what they brought me, despite pointing to #46 on the menu while ordering and when we were asking what happened to the veggies. Accuracy is important! I was wanting something fresh and healthy for dinner. The online photos looked very good so we headed to Pho May. The good - friendly service and seating from Manuel. Also, the fried green bean appetizer was phenomenal and came out fast and hot. The booths are very large but... (see below) Not great - husband's shrimp fried rice was just the shrimp and rice. The tase was OK, but no veggies, no sprinkles of green onion (which was in the photo), no sprinkles of cilantro, nothing. The bad - I ordered based on the other photos I saw, including the one on THEIR OWN website and menu. I've posted photos below, a couple from other Yelp reviewers, and I'll let you guess which one was mine. (The leftovers, I split with my husband and ate it because I was hungry.) It wasn't terrible, but where are all the fresh veggies, where's the color?? Produce is inexpensive so I don't know why they would not prepare the dish as it's represented in their own photos. We called a nearby waiter, pointed at #46 on the menu and asked "where are the vegetables" and the person said "it's cilantro" and brought us a bowl of washed cilantro. Okaaaayyyyy.... Without the veggies, the food was heavy and sticky. Also the benches at the booths have zero cushion. We weren't there long but sitting was still very uncomfortable. Based on this visit, we will not return nor would recommend to anyone. I usually write nothing but stellar reviews and normally say nothing if the experience was bad. But I feel I need to show the difference in what I ordered vs what I received.

Continued to amaze me always. Love this place to bits. Been going here for years and it never disappoints! Super friendly staff and fast service, and they're open late! It's the best pho around for an affordable price as well! When you come here you're gonna feel welcomed and at home with a very warm safe atmosphere. I love pho may's beef ball pho most but each and every one of their pho bowls are amazing! I love pho may & and hope you do too

01/07/24 First time here and wow. This place is so good, the aroma stayed in my hair and clothes until the next day lol. For starters, we ordered the #8 Fried Egg Rolls-Ground Pork, egg paper, taro, wood ear mushrooms, onions, noodle. Fried to perfection. It wasn't too soft and chewy like some eggrolls but not too hard where it just falls apart. The crunch was magnificent. Next, we ordered the #2 Chicken Wings in Fish Sauce. Again, fried to perfection. If you've seen my rave review on Phoung Trang's garlic chicken wings, well these wings are runner up. So flavorful, juicy and delicious! Next up was the #7 Shrimp Spring Rolls. I'm not a big fan of spring rolls but these were good. The peanut dipping sauce was made it for me. So good. My husband ordered #28 Seafood Pho. It looked good and was a big portion because he usually finishes it but he didn't here. Overall 10/10. Great food and fast service. Will definitely be back for more.

Pho May is our go-to Pho spot. Always good and reasonably priced. We usually come for lunch and rarely have to wait for a table.

A few more guests came in after us, but most of the tables remained open. We ordered the #7 Shrimp Spring Rolls ($8.95) to start. They were edible, but the texture was a little stale and chewy, almost like they had been made earlier in the day and refrigerated a bit too long. Compared to spring rolls we've had at other Vietnamese restaurants, these fell short. My wife ordered the #24 Beef Pho with Rare Steak ($13.95), while I had the #23 Beef Pho Combo (14.95). Both bowls were served with a fairly bland broth and noticeably less meat than we're used to seeing at a similar price point elsewhere. That said, the service was excellent. Our server stayed on top of everything and checked in several times to make sure we were happy with our meal. The restaurant was also very clean and organized. Overall, the experience was fine, but the food itself just didn't leave much of an impression. We left feeling like we probably don't need to scratch the Pho May itch again anytime soon.

We were craving some warm pho on a cold night, and Soup Shop sounded like the perfect spot. The plaza Soup Shop is located in is usually super crowded, but if you go after 9pm when most of the other restaurants and shops are closed, you'll find plenty of parking. Write your name down on the waiting list at the front podium and then wait for your name to be called. They have a few seats to wait right outside the door. Once we were seated, we were given menus. I really like that their menu has a lot of large photos of the dishes, so you know what you're getting! Once we ordered, the food came out pretty quickly despite being busy. For appetizers, we ordered the Crunchy Pork "Bao" since it sounded unique. Inside the bao is pork shoulder, mushroom, Vietnamese sausage, and quail egg. The outside has a thin, perfectly crispy layer that gives a nice little crunch when you bite into it. Really enjoyed these and would recommend! We also got the Crusted Parmesan Cauliflower. Not sure what's in the sauce, but it's sweet, tangy, and delicious! It's also topped with fried onion, cilantro, cucumber, and parmesan cheese. Also a winner! For entrees, we got the Chicken Pho and the Pho Ribeye. For the chicken Pho, you can get it with thigh or breast meat. I got it with breast meat, and they gave a good amount of meat! A little dry, but I appreciated that it was nice and lean. The flavor of the soup is really good. Pho Ribeye was also tasty! Hit the spot.
