I'm from Southern California visiting my in laws here in Wimauma. My mother-in-law and Aunt-in-law says this place has the best Vietnamese food. My 3 star rating is based off the service and the food itself. *Iced Vietnamese coffee- strong and has a good flavor. Needed some more condensed milk to balance out the strong coffee. We ordered this right when we sat down but we didn't receive it until the end of our meal. They must of got the coffee beans fresh from Vietnam haha *Pho-I would give their pho 5 stars. It's authentic and very flavorful. You know pho is good when you taste the broth and it doesn't need anything added to it. *Hieu Tieu Combo-I was soooo looking forward to this soup as it's one of my favs! I love the tapioca noodles. I was disappointed because the broth was VERY bland. I came back later that night to get a avocado smoothie Togo. There was only two tables in there that was finishing up eating. It took 15 mins to make my smoothie. The girl must of picked the avocado fresh from the tree because it took sooo long to make the smoothie! She had a hard time scooping the avocado into the blender. When it was done blending she had a hard time putting into the cup because it was too thick. I'm glad that there's more and more good Vietnamese restaurants popping up throughout the Tampa Bay area. I came here on a recommendation by a friend who lives in the Brandon area and I do have to say, it did not disappoint. The interior of the restaurant provided a nice homey feel and all of the servers were really nice and attentive. The food came out hot and fresh and the water cups were always full. Of course, I came here to get the pho, so the rest of the review will focus on my bowl of pho. You can choose from 2 different sizes. I went with the large pho. This place was generous on the beef slices and unlike a lot of other places, the pieces of beef that they give have nice balance of fat and meat, meaning that the meat is quite tender and flavorful. The pho broth here is also very clean tasting. You can tell that they took the time to boil down bones and aromatics to make a rich and flavorful broth and that they did not cheap out and use instant broth. Overall, this place ranks highly on my list of places I would recommend for pho. However, it still comes in just shy of Saigon Deli. It's just so hard to beat Saigon Deli on price. But that doesn't mean I won't drop by if I'm in the area :) read more

I've been to tons of Vietnamese restaurants looking for the best vegetarian/vegan pho which can be challenging since the broth's flavor can be tricky to get right. Pho Loc Tho has hands down THE BEST pho in the whole Tampa Bay Area! Seriously I can't hype it up enough. The staff is always so kind and remembers my boyfriend and I, our orders, and they provide fast and friendly service. It feels like our second home there. You can tell they truly care so much about their customers and their quality of food. I've ordered the tofu fresh rolls as an appetizer and the quality of the vegetables inside is always so fresh. I typically order the vegetable tofu pho and it's seriously the most flavorful broth!! The tofu is crispy too and not just soggy or raw which I love. I've also tried the vegetarian noodle bowl which has soy protein, rice vermicelli, veggies, and a vegan sauce. Super refreshing, savory, crunchy, and filling. My boyfriend has always loved his beef or chicken pho bowls as well as shrimp fresh rolls and it's his favorite Vietnamese restaurant as well. These guys are doing it RIGHT at this place. We are repeat customers and sometimes come twice in a week making a 30+ min drive because it's so worth it. Seriously the best around and you have to try it. Ok...I was really excited about this place and that there was finally a new place to eat Pho. My family and I love good Pho. When we first walked in, we were greeted and told to sit anywhere we wanted. My ONE and ONLY complaint about this place was the service. They have young girls as their wait staff. They don't come back to check and see if you need refills on drinks, if the food is good, if we need anything else, nothing. I had to get up twice to get a refill from who I think, was the owner. He was extremely nice. We didn't have OUR server come back to the table once to check on us, but only to drop the check off when I flagged her down to ask her for it. As far as the food goes, their spring rolls and fresh rolls were really good. I would have ordered those again. I am not too impressed with the broth they had for the Pho. It was pretty bland to be honest. I added a TON of hot sauce just to give it flavor. I will stick to the same place I have always gone to. We have been looking for this Pho restaurant for over 3 years since leaving the DC area! The Pho up north is awesome; it just met it's match! The quality of the food, the quality of the owners and staff, the cleanliness, the price...everything was exceptional!! Come out Fishhawk and Riverview and support a local small business!! You will not be disappointed!! We have tried the Pho w/brisket 2 times, the vermicelli with pork, shrimp, and egg role, the spring rolls, and the rice with grilled pork during our 2 visits. I do not have a favorite because they were all incredibly fresh, and made to perfection!! The spring rolls must be tried!! Glad to see another Vietnamese restaurant in our area. Went there during their soft opening and it was soft. Store a/c was not set low enough. Hot due to open kitchen and pots of broth running constantly. Staff was confused at times. What I like was: Generous portions of pho. Plenty of broth, noodles and meat. I got the large and my wife the regular. Very little MSG used which is also awesome. Did not need a gallon of water afterwards. Wife said tripe was cooked well. Their cooked food was delicious. Had the grilled chicken. Seasoned and cooked well. They used thigh meat which i have nothing against. The part not so great: The broth was too sweet. I like mine more savory. Their beef brisket was too fatty and overcooked. Their egg rolls had more root and fillers than meat. I grew up eating denser ones with more meat. It was also a tad more expensive but portions made up for that. Overall I will come back if i want Vietnamese but if it is pho I like Rice Bowl more. read more

We chose this restaurant because in yelp it says gluten free options. They were busy and understaffed. We waited about 5 minutes to be sat another 5 minutes before our server came over(not a big deal). When our server came over and asked for our order I asked what was gluten free and she didn't know. I don't really write bad reviews ever but today I will. First of all the pho really sucked, the broth weren't on point. I give their broth a 2.5 out of 10. The meat quality and amount was 4.3. The customer service was 2.4. Restaurant policy was 0.2. They charged me a gratuity of 18% just for one person. They tried to make this restaurant really fancy but the food quality doesn't match up to the atmosphere. What I was really upset about was that It says on the menu for a group of five people there is a 18% gratuity. I should only want to give tips if I wanted to. I was going to be nice and give them 10% but the the food really sucked. The restaurant charged me 18% when I checked today. Over all I give this restaurant a 1.6 out of 10 and that's really high for what it's worth. The customer should be able determine the amount they want to give. That is the law. Absolutely incredible. Super comfortable atmosphere. Workers were all super pleasant and helpful. Two of us ordered enough food for four people but we destroyed it all. The brisket in the pho was awesome. The shrimp and scallops in the Vietnamese soup was exactly what I wanted. The restaurant looked promising. It's small and just 4-5 families can fit, then you're sitting at the bar, which accommodates 3 people and a cash register. The beef was very good, but that's the best part. The chicken on several items that I've been there is boiled and hard. Traditional Vietnamese food but much lower quality ingredients give it a loss of a star. If you expect high quality foods, there's one on the south side of waters close to Dale Mabry. Same atmosphere but completely different food quality. If you're wanting traditional Viet, Waters and Dale Mabry or West Waters by Wheeltec is better. read more
